Wilson Contrus the former Cub in the air to right field taylor makes the adjustment gets behind it as the runner stay put for out number two now it’s Alec Berles’s turn to hit and a swing and a miss strike three so Shane Smith strands both runners here in this first inning matthew Liberator kicks off the st series on the mound for St louis and he’s looking to turn around his fortunes brad last order for Brendan Donovan in a tie game knuckled to the left side midroth can’t get it one run scores base is still loaded st louis takes the lead donovan’s two for two he’s got his 27th RBI so the Contrarus contrarus thought he got in ahead of the tag how about that play on ball four and the throw down to second contras tries to steal home and the White Socks for the moment throw him out we’ll hit night of his own man did he go up and nail that ball collarbone high two RBI game for Berles nolan Gorman gets a chance now ground ball towards second and the throw to first is in time to retire the side the Cardinals cash in one of their two walks it’s all Cardinals in game one ninth inning we go white Socks down 10-2 and we have a position player pitching Vinnie Capra on the mound that’s a
