Here’s your new voice of the Marlins Jack McMull The Fish are looking to bounce back They fell 5-2 in the series opener against the Philadelphia Phillies yesterday but tonight the series rolls on Game two of a four-game series against the visiting Phillies arrival from the National League East on the hill for the Marlins Cal Quantrol And he opposes an old friend left-hander Jesus Lazardo makes his second start against the Fish this year He went seven innings allowed just one earned run in Philadelphia but he returns home The Parkland native and the former Miami Marlin will make his first start back at Lone Depot Park It’s the Marlins and the Phillies game two of a four game midweek series Happy Tuesday everybody in vamos gate Not at those Jack McMullen Kelly Sack What are we doing We do It’s Steven Stro here as well We’ll give you the lineups in a moment Before that our umpiring crew for tonight’s game Mike Esbrook has the plate He’s calling calls for strikes Austin Jones is at first base Crew Chief Last Diaz is at second base and Brian Onora who had the plate yesterday is third base umpire And weather report does not matter Roof is closed and the windows are shut behind the wall in left field Tonight’s starting lineups are brought to you by FanDuel Sports Network Every pitch every hit every home run Don’t miss a second of the action Three Miami Marlins baseball live on the FanDuel Sports Network app Line up First four the visiting Philadelphia Phillies who are 43 and 29 and managed by Rob Thompson Trey Turner leads off and plays shortstop Kyle Schwarber the two hitting designated hitter Alec B hits third and plays third Max Kepler is the cleanup man He is in right field JT Riomuto the former Marlin hits fifth and does the catching Bryson Scott at sixth and plays second base Seventh inning first baseman is Otto Kemp Batting eighth in left field Brandon Marsh And the nine man in center field is Johan Rojas Again on the hill for the Phillies is Jesus Lazardo the left hand So again Turner at short Schwber the DH Bow at third Kepler in right Riomito catching Scott at second Kemp at first Marshian left and Rojos in center with the lefty Luzardo on the hill Lineup now for the hosting Miami Marlins who are 28 and 42 and managed by Clayton McCulla Xavier Edwards leads off and plays second base Augustine Ramirez the two hitting PH Otto Lopez hits third He is the shortstop Harberto Hernandez bats cleanup and plays left field He was a defensive replacement yesterday Eric Wagman is five hitting first baseman Had a tough night last night Connor Norby had that RBI single He was one for four Norby hit sixth and plays third base Seven inning catcher is Nick Cortez Kyle Sters hits eighth and plays right field And Javier Senoha is a nine man in center field Again you got Edwards at second Ramirez dhing Lopez at short Fernandez in left Wagman at first Norby at third Cortez catching Sters in right and Shinohop in center On the hill for the Marlins the 30-year-old from Port Hope Ontario Canada and the former eighth overall pick by the Padres’s Cal Quantrol 13 starts this year for Cal He’s 3-7 with a 561 erra In 59 and a3 innings he’s punched out 46 and walked 19 The Phillies got Quantrol Kelly when he was really struggling out of the gates right He had a rough go in April His line on April 19th in Philadelphia three and a third innings seven earned runs He walked three He did not strike anyone out In his first six starts as a Miami Marlin he had an ERA over eight and opponents were hitting 345 against him Over his last seven he’s got the ERA down to 3.58 and opponents are hitting nearly 100 points lower at 260 It really does feel like Cal is starting to figure out who he is as a pitcher in 2025 Yeah a big part of that too was making the adjustment coming from altitude in Colorado where you really had to attack hitters in a completely different way than coming packed down to sea level here in Miami So for Cal he’s finally started to settle in And I feel like too there’s a lot of situations where there have been one pitch that’s kind of just bit him in the butt So it’s been last outing too he gives up that three-run home run to Andrew McCutchen That line looks really different he can take away that one pitch So again Kyle’s a veteran He’s figuring it out So hopefully he continues on that track here today Marlins in the home whites as Quantrol throws his warm-up pitches The Phillies in the road grays with strip Phillies across the chest It’s a little weird to see Haze Lazardo wear those threads I know it was weird for you seeing that in Philly It has to be weirder in Miami Absolutely I mean it just I remember him saying it too He goes “Oh you think I look weird in this?” When we saw him in Philly they were wearing their City Connect So there was some blue there Oh yeah Lots a ton of blue that has their uh what I like to describe as their slow pitch softball uniforms Not Not a fan Not a fan of those City Connects But anyway uh yeah in the red In the red it’s very very weird So seeing him take the mounds going to be a bit odd as he played you know for the Marlins for parts of four seasons We loved him down here Yep And uh Lazardo I know loved his South Florida community as well and still uh very active here in the off season but Lazardo will be throwing for the Phillies We’ll talk about him in the bottom of the first inning but it’s time for Quattro in the top of the first Set the leather for you defensively for the Marlins You got Wagman at first Edwards at second Lopez at short Norby at third Outfield left to right is Hernandeza and Sters and Fores doing the catching for Quantro Ray Turner the leadoff man for the Phillies digs in Turner hitting 306 through 70 games as a Philly this year Eight homers and 33 driven in Turner swinging that two-toned bat Got the gray barrel and the black handle And Fantrell ready to fire We are officially underway on Tuesday night First pitch of the game is poured in for a called strike That came in promptly at 6:10 p.m Again we were bumped up half an hour as we got some ice caps to support one pitch to Turner That one skipped in front of the plate It was a curveball on the count One and one on Turner It’ll be Turner Schwarber and Bow at least in the top of the first Notable omission from this Philly lineup Haleian native Nick Castanos Chaos Castanos is out of this game for disciplinary reasons One-1 pitch is hit high in the air out to left field Hernandez is circling Harry Bberto sees that He trots in and he makes the catch for out number one Castanos took exception to being removed from the game for defensive purposes last night He had some words to say to manager Rob Thompson and the punishment for saying some things he shouldn’t have said was uh missing a game not starting for the first time in just about three years as a Philadelphia Philly So Castanos cand did today like he always is knowing that he is out today Yeah he had the second longest active streak in the majors had started 236 straight games That was the longest streak by a Phillies player since Pete Rose over 40 years ago It’s amazing Pitch to Kyle Schwarber He golf’s foul The first pitch was a cutter that missed low to Schwarber 72 games hitting .244 with 22 home runs and 52 RBI Lachland March who covers the Phillies for the Philadelphia Inquirer had the quotes one-1 pitch misses Lowen in March tweeted that he was out of the game today because of a quote inappropriate comment he made after being removed last night and Costanos’s two-1 pitch this is outside said quote I wasn’t happy about it spoke my mind he said that I crossed the line so my punishment is I’m not playing It’s his decision He’s the manager That is as Nick Castanos as a quote can possibly get 3-1 pitch Check swing Did he go Yes he did I think it was a foul tip as well and a cutter at the knees And the counter runs full I appreciate the candid nature in which Castianos goes about literally every interview he does He’s he’s different No doubt rocking bending those knees Now he fires the payoff and Schwarber hits that one high in the sky out to left field and deep Hernandez back at the track Hernandez reaches up and he makes the catch Kyle Schwarber we know about the pullside power He gave that thing a ride out to left field but the ballpark held it and there were two away He was about three feet shy of his 23rd home run of the season Now Alec Bow three hitting third baseman gearing up for Quantrol When you talk about just sheer power and the most powerful bats in Major League Baseball you can’t get past number three or four without Schwarber First pitch in on Bow’s hands and he flicks it high in the air out to shallow left center Short stop Lopez just beyond the infield dirt Makes the catch about letter high and that ends a one two three inning for Quantrol Schwarber gave one a ride but Quantrol does not leave the wind up Moments in MLB app and mlb.com Learn more at umgc.edu Certified to operate in Virginia by Chevardo is on the hill for the Philadelphia Phillies The 27year-old South as a Miami Marlin He started 74 games grew north of 400 innings and now he throws against him for the second time as a Philly The first time was pretty solid on April 20th That was that series finale in Philadelphia against the Fish Lazardo went seven innings He scattered eight hits two runs against him just one was earned He punched out seven didn’t walk anyone through 14 starts Lazardo 6 and2 with a 4.23 RA Those numbers looked a lot different before May 31st We’ll get into that in a moment But now you see Lazardo in red What does that feel like Kelly Sack It’s weird First pitch to Xavier Edwards is 98 on the inside corner for a called strike Nothing in one He did tell me too He’s excited to be back on this mound So many pitchers talk about how much they love the mound here at Loone Depot Park It’s big It’s sturdy One pitch at a called strike sweeper floats on to the outside black and X is behind nothing in two The guys on the grounds crew do a great job It was Nate the Great I like to call him Yeah For for many years and now it’s Tommy’s responsibility They just do a fantastic job with two pitch Now when a ground ball over to second base comes in he scoops it up and flicks it on to first base in time and on target for out number one Setting the defense behind Lazardo real quick on this manicured infield dirt We got Kemp at first Scott at second Turner at short B at third Outfield left to right Marsh Rojos and Kepler and the former fish Riomo catching the former fish Lazardo Augustine Ramirez seeing Lazardo who rocks and fires And that one is in for a called strike A sweeper Nothing and one Yeah that sweeper is a new addition for Jesus Lazardo And he said it’s been a huge tool One pitch high and tight That one fouled back 98 mph fast ball and he’s gotten ahead of the front two guys 0 and2 I asked him where does he think that that pitch has made the biggest impact for him this year and he told me this He said it one gives hitters one extra thing to worry about two pitch Augustine takes a spike slider one and two He said too it’s a completely different look than what he usually throws He says everything before it’s it was pretty firm not a ton of movement He said this pitch it’s got a separation in VO and it’s got a ton of horizontal movement which he none of his pitches have had before Two no one taken outside The thing about Lazardo is he fit and you know you’ll call it a velocity window He fit a velocity window right And speaking to your point Kelly like everything was hard Everything kind of looks the same and you’re not going to get very much offbalance The two- two pitch just misses the outer edge counts full You’re not going to get guys on their heels playing a guessing game if everything is in the 90 to 95 range Exactly So the four seam 95 96 the change up 88 89 slider same exact thing 32 that a back door sweeper and a beauty a called third strike that clipped the outside corner and Augustine goes down looking Lazardo’s first strikeout tonight There’s two going in the bottom of the first Now he’s got the majority of his strikeouts coming on that pitch right there Beautifully placed on the outside black Again that’s looking like a ball outside all the way until the last second it breaks horizontally Clips the outside corner That is now his 36th strikeout on the year on that pitch Lopez the righty hitting shortstop Seeing Lazardo and he dribbles one right side of the mat Lazardo quickly off the hill He is flirting with the chalk but that one rolling foul down the first baseline Got nothing and one on Otto was scoreless in the bottom of the first But to your point literally everything in his arsenal outside of the sweeper is 96 to 88 It fits this 7 8 mph window and guys will be able to graze pretty much everything there You talk to guys about velocity separation There’s so much made about pitch shapes now right Vertical horizontal break release spin At the end of the day you got one thing at 95 one thing at 85 one thing at 75 You’re going to be in a good spot Exactly A one pitch This is outside that sweeper Yeah Now he has a five pitch mix and he’s got one of the best catchers in Major League Baseball behind the plate guiding him through it One now would cut on a miss A good change up diving low at 91 Lizardo in the driver’s seat on Otto One and two And Jesus told me this as well He said “You know sometimes it takes some time to get used to your battery mate.” Not not so much with JT Romeo He said that chemistry was there right away Two had a change up that Otto laid off Good take by him Two and two And he said it’s so easy to trust a guy like JT cuz you see the hard work that he puts in day in and day out He said he never shakes him off Two two That one cut on and missed A slider dirtbound and Otto chased it He flashed Lazardo a smile as Lazardo made the right move walking off the mount of the first base dugout Your day in baseball starts with MLB Central Let’s get it started Lead off your morning with up your order at the designated area pitch to Max Kepler’s in for a called strike Available at select concession locations Mobile ordering courtesy Cantaloupe in the top of the second No score One two three innings from Cal Quantrol for the fish and Jesus Lazardo in his return to Miami for Philadelphia Wanda Kepler the cleanup man Tech swing and a bouncer foul towards the third base dugout Yeah Kepler collected one of two home runs by Philly’s hitters in last night’s game And that was his ninth of the season And he’s really been on a tear as of late Three home runs across the last seven games Five extra base hits Two pitch from Cal That went just low and away It was a slider that Cortez tried to hold but that was well off the plate The count is one and two peaks in seeing Kepler sign a one-year $10 million contract this off season with the Phillies one two misses upstairs a sinker at 94 you know it’s funny Philly sports fans are a polarizing bunch some love watching from afar some hate watching from afar or at least you know hate the way they take in their team and Kepler he he’s been a topic of conversation in Philly to pitch Just a hard ground ball to the forehead of the shortstop Lopez He’s got it right side of the second base back and he sets his feet Fires to first in time to get Kepler One away Play by the Marlin short stop motto That brings up JT Realm Mutoo But Kepler we were talking to some people the other day and it seems like people are clamoring for him to move to a bench roll at the deadline You got to go get an outfielder I mean listen at the end of the day this guy’s got nine homers this year He’s opsing about league average and he’s playing good defense in a corner First pitch takes a called strike slider on the inside corner Nothing he wants Yeah he’s way above league average when it comes to walk rate Same thing pretty good with strikeout rate I mean doesn’t ground out a ton One pitchto lays off and cutter blowing away He’s got 26 RBI’s on the year Those Philly fans though they’re they’re passionate I think is a professional way to put it Times it’s okay to acknowledge a good playing his 60th game this year Had the night off last night One-1 pitch He fouls back Out of play on the right side Yeah One and two No score in the top of the second Rio Muto this year hitting 242 with five homers with 26 driven in Offensive production has tapered off a little bit Riom still with that innate feel as Kelly was talking about to catch an entire pitching staff We missed upstairs The count is two and two You mentioned Riomito and Lazardo just hit it off immediately The the chemistry in the battery was so good between pitcher and catcher How much of that do you feel like is personality based with a guy like Jake Like is it a fast friends thing Two is bouncing ball right back to the mound Quantrol tried to spin He couldn’t grab it but X was there He picked up the chopper and he throws on the run in time to get JT Thankfully Quantrol didn’t touch that ball as he was kind of torpedoing around like that was Yeah I I I I know that pitchers want to help themselves and but in those types of situations let your defense field it You got eight guys behind you seven guys behind you one guy obviously the catching but let him handle it So many times you hear you see a pitcher tip it off and the guy ends up being safe Pitched to Bryson Stodd a center cut fast ball taken for a called strike at 94 mph I mean Quantrol almost went down to a knee and then tried like spinning on that knee to glove it on the backand but it jumped right over the mound and it fell to X No problem on a 4-3 putter One to stuck when taking off the outside edge One and one Yeah but to put a bone on the JT topic I would say just because he’s such a hardworking professional Sure I think it’s just so easy to respect him You got you know maybe some personality trait but yeah respect probably the driving force That one fouled back The count is one and two If you know that the guy 60 ft away from you is putting in the work absolutely I’m sure you just trust him from the jump And that’s exactly what Luzardo said He goes you can’t not trust him Yeah he puts in so much work and he’s the proof is in the pudding what he’s done over the course of his career One two misses up and in And again while some of the numbers as they directly correlate to him whether they’re offensive production or maybe even something like pop time you know time to get the ball from your glove to second base while those have dwindled a little bit as he’s gotten older 2-2 a foul tip and Cortez couldn’t hold on to that That was a cutter that ricocheted right into his glove but it popped out hit the dirt so they’ll do it again Where you don’t see a drop off whatsoever staff RA the Phillies year in and year out are one of the best pitching teams in Major League Baseball And you have to credit the catcher for part of that Two men gone bases empty Top of the second and the two again to misses up and out A slider count runs full Quantrol threw 10 pitches in a one two three first He’s trying to get through a one two three second but it’ll take him 17 pitches at least to do that Number 27 on his night on the way And that one whistled into left center field Hernandez on the move Harry Bberto Hernandez makes the catch He was running a slant route into left center field He made the grab on his left shoulder and Quantrol has gone six up in six Future of baseball takes the field at the 2025 MLB Draft Combine Get one-of-a-kind access to over 300 said the following I really don’t know what to say I’m just uh so happy I gave something These people cheer We all did I mean it was a great game Both teams played incredible It was a great game That’s Mike Piaza after he hit an eighth inning go-ahad home run in the first New York Mets home game after 911 Hear moments like this and more on the MLB app and MLB.com Let’s see if you can figure out the following baseball slang term Today’s phrase is oppo taco You know what it means Oppo taco A home run hit to the opposite field Austin with an oppo taco His 13th and it’s a one-run game Expand your vocabulary by listening to every game on the MLB app and mlb.com From fireworks to beerfest to special giveaways there’s something for everyone Stay out of the heat and in the action All under the roof at Lone Depot Park Lock in your seats today at marlins.com/tick That we got Brewers and Twins that home stand up Midwest Central right Yeah Right Midwest flavor in Miami Al NL Lazardo His first pitch in the bottom of the second is 97 at the knees to start off Berto Hernandez No score in the bottom of the second inning I think it’s right after the All-Star break The Marlins return the visit to Milwaukee You’re right And guys are a little nervous Missed inside of the count is one and one They’re nervous about Yeah certain something Certain something Certain something And it’s not the Brewers No No Not the Brewers They’re worried about uh maybe some accommodations One is in for a called strike and the count is one and two Oh goodness Yeah Milwaukee Now Amam American Family Field They’ve got this kid Just made his major league debut on Thursday One two pitch to Hernandez misses upstairs at 98 Lazardo went 123 in the first with a couple of punch outs He’s 45 to six this inning Milwaukee has this kid Jacob Miserowski who started a game last Thursday against St Louis 22 That one misses low and away A change up went five no hit innings in his major league debut Hit 103 miles an hour His arowski He was removed because of an ankle issue but he’s good 3-2 pitch Had a bouncing ball fouled third base side But his first three pitches in his major league career 101 102 100 Freak of all That’s insane Craziness Yeah What a what a bummer to end it though huh Crazy one miss low and that is a leadoff walk issued by Lazardo to Eberto Hernandez So the cleanup man for Miami is a board on the free pass and that brings up Eric Wagon at the five hitting first baseman tonight Yeah Morowski lifted because of that ankle but his pitch count was running up anyways I think he Yeah it it was on the mound too that he kind of tweaked it when he landed I believe his arms and legs go flying in a whole bunch so many limbs So weird And when dropped in recalled striking was a sweeper I He is It’s crazy He walked four The strike percentage major league average is typically about 65% He was just under 60% in that start You know he’s a guy that is effectively wild A one pitch misses low There are plenty of guys like that in Major League Baseball I mean we’ve seen it over the last few years with Edward Cabrera right He’ll spray a little bit and then all of a sudden when he’s in the strike zone guys are a little nervous and he can jump on Edward Cabrera is the one guy where players on the visiting team unprovoked One-1 pitch that one hammered out to left center field and deep Marshian Rojos back They’re looking up and it’s gone Wag attack a two-run homer and it’s two nothing fish in the bottom of the second Wagaman jumps on Lazardo Eric Wagaman crushes That’s his fifth home run on the season to dead center 46 ft Gets a fast ball right down the pipes and he doesn’t miss it 97 on the way in 107 on the way out Conor Norby swings and misses at a first pitch change up to run the count to nothing and one and 406 ft to left center field Later Wagaman puts on the celebratory fish hat and has sunflower seeds dumped on him But one pitch is another change up misses low and away Kelly mentioned fifth homer of the year for Wagaman RBI’s 26 and 27 That breaks a tie with Liam Hicks for the NL rookie lead 1-1 That one ripped on the ground of the back hand of the third baseman Boom He’s got it and he fires across the diamond Otto Kemp held the bag He stretched the outfield side That 53 put out is out number one Yeah you love to see it from Eric Wagaman He had a nice trip in particular in Washington too Second on the team as we mentioned seven RBI’s Six of those RBI’s coming in that Washington series First pitch to Nick Cortez Misses low at 97 for ball one Had Eric Wagaman homer brought in the first run of the game which is brought to you by ADT the official security partner of the Miami Marlins Make your home smart and safe with ADT and Google Nest products In for Strike One that’s trusted security from ADT and the intelligence of Google for a home with no worries Go to adt.com/marlins or call 1800750647 Google Nester trademarks of Google LLC on one missed low on a sweepers They count two balls and a strike on Nick Forz with one away in the bottom of the second on the wagon homer It’s two nothing fish And have a chance to talk to Nick before the game but I’ve always wondered he’s facing his former teammate former battery mate and good friend Jesus Lazardo I wonder if uh Nick might have the advantage or whether it’s Lousardo here One pitch misses You would have to think Nick I talked to Sandy about Jacob Stallings when the Rockies were in town and I said “Who do you feel like would have the advantage?” Oh him He knows what I’m going to throw A little bit of a different look with the sweeper but still 3-1 Cortez swinging away He drills one out to left field Brandon Marsh working back at the track Marsh has room and he makes the catch He didn’t square up to home plate He kept on going and he kind of swiped to catch that ball Cortez gave it a ride but that’s just allowed out number two Yeah and that sinker dead center So we’ve seen several pitches that Jesus Lozardo has really left over the center of the plate He has prided himself on this year and has attributed his success this season to being more fine to being more precise but looking like he’s leaking a few pitches over the plate here early Pitch to Kyle Sters has spun in for a called strike Nothing and one Lazardo was through 11 starts near the top of you know any Sai Young pole you would have put out He was 5 and0 with a 215 ERA One pitch is cut on a miss Good sweeper left on left It’s pretty crazy those two clunkers that he had a couple games ago his RA doubled after those two starts So after 11 starts he had a 2.15 erra The following two starts where he gave up 12 runs to Milwaukee and eight to Toronto Two misses outside That RA ballooned to 4.46 46 from 2.51 He did a nice job of getting it back down against Chicago But right I mean it still after the two-run homer sits at 437 but he sweeps a slider across the plate and sters chase blow and away Went one two three after the two-run homer from Eric Wagaman but Wags gets the fish on the board We’re through two of Craig Mish when we come back It’s two nothing Marlins here on the Marlins take a hack at guessing which baseball player or manager has a following I really don’t know what to say I’m just uh so happy I gave something These people cheer We all did I mean it was a great game Both teams and the Cardinals have won the game by the score of 3 to2 A home run by the Wizards Text the next unforgettable call on the MLB app and MLB.com Marlins have a two nothing lead as we go to the top of the third inning Now Quattro seeing Otto Kemp He’s gone six up and six down And we see Craig Mish First pitch has spun in Recalled strike Nothing in one Craig how we doing Did you miss us uh profusely on the nine-day road trip I I was listening I you know there was actually one game I was listening where I missed a pitching change and I was going to text you one pitch is a little ground ball off the front foot attempt it’s a foul ball not two during the game I said why does Jack keep saying Ronnie Enriquez in the game but I’m looking and I’m seeing Venziano and and he was removed from the game and so it was one of those texts Jack that you almost send that you write out and delete Oh nice I didn’t see the three dots I typically have our conversation pulled up on my Oh that’s so sweet Thank you Good Um hey we’ve got some uh important notes to get through as the training staff is out looking at Otto Kemp is the uh the Oregon Blair here at Lone Depot Park with the charge cry Checking out his his lead knee his left knee And Otto Kemp stretching it out making sure he’s all right Uh Marlins had a new guy in their clubhouse today going through workouts Adam Major is here in Miami What’s the 411 on Major Yeah so it hasn’t been announced but I believe it will be after the game You know it’s transactional so some things can’t get announced Players have to go up and down but uh Ma Major is here to start uh Wednesday so he is going to make his first Marlin start I I know that out of spring training they really liked what they saw I thought that when uh Ryan Weathers got hurt Jack the first time that Mer could replace him in the rotation and they waited a little while and now he’s up at least to make a spot start here First time meeting the flexer issue in spring training O2 missed blowing away Yeah that first time when I was asking questions about who could replace him He was right there as far as in the mix I think they wanted to see him a little bit more in the minors Now that they have they feel more comfortable calling him up at this point Gotcha Okay So Major would be in line to start said Wednesday which is tomorrow One two check swing Kemp went around and Forez applied tag So Quantrol gets a strikeout His first of the night was one away for Brandon March So Major would be in line to start tomorrow if he is activated Again nothing official yet but that’s what I believe So and you know my understanding too is it’s probably a oneand done Baseball’s a funny game You never know Guy throws seven shut out no hit innings It’s hard to tell him he’s got to go back down but my understanding is that there’s a pretty good shot that this is just a spot start No room right now in the rotation for Gotcha Brandon Marsh first pitch to him He cracks down the right field line That thing is smoked and it is fouled Just a couple feet to the right of the right field foul pole And that was just a loud strike one to Marsh with the Marlins up two nothing in the top of the third We’re chatting with Greg Mish and Major will uh in all likelihood be starting the game tomorrow against the Phillies There was a transaction in the minor leagues today There was a release of a player that was a notable trade acquisition last year Yeah When the Marlins uh traded Luis Arise to the Padres’s they received several players back in return One of them was Woo Suck Go who the Padres’s thought so much of internationally that they signed him to a pretty lucrative deal Didn’t work out for them They sent him to the Marlins to kind of offset Arise’s money One pitch that had a called strike at the top of the zone one and so he was released today I I believe you know out of the organization or at least we’ll see for the time being And uh you know the other players Dylan Head uh Martella some of these players they’ve been running a lot in the miners are really valuing the speed of some of those players really high upside players but uh they didn’t really think too much of go once you pitch miss low in a way they count two and two you mentioned offsetting the money it was a multi-year deal the Padres’s have done a lot of that they reached into uh NPB and the KBO for multi-year deals for relievers Yuki Matsui has worked out well not the case that a one hopper speared by Lopez at short He spins in shallow center and fires to first in time for out number two Heck of a play by Otto with two men gone That brings up Johan Rojos an Iron Man in the center fielder But the Marlins I know they’re really happy with the work that Dylan Ped put in this off season and he has been running rampant to your point in the minor leagues right now What’s new What else is new on the Marlins front Yeah Well I mean you know also you know we’re going to be talking more about this but you know that trade that the Marlins made to acquire those players uh in particular for Arise and Ara had a nice year last year but you know was marred a little bit with an injury at the end of the season Uh Arise will be a free agent Jack after the end of this year and I think it does bring up the conversation if the Padres’s let him go which we don’t have any indication of that one way or the other Pitch to Johan Rojas smacked out to left field Roberto Hernandez underneath He makes the catch Yeah it’s it’s possible the Padres’s traded those players and for a year and three quarters of Louis Take a hack at guessing which baseball player or manager said the following I really don’t know what to say I’m just uh so happy I gave something These people cheer We all did I mean Alongside Kelly Sacko and Steven Strong I’m Jack McMullen Big thank you to Craig Mish for joining us Whenever he uh does TV we have him do the double dip Javier Senoha gets a bunt down the right side of the mound Lazardo picks it up He spins fires to first in time for out number one Although Senoha was well out of the baseline I think they would have gotten him on that regardless There’s one away on one pitch for Lazardo as Senoha tried playing some small ball Yeah he almost ran into the ball that he bunted well into the grass Looked like he was charging the pitchers now for a little bit like he I mean he was probably 10 15 feet out of the baseline at one point there and then he quickly veered the first baseline but that is a one to three put out here to open the bottom of the third inning I had seen this hilarious video and I I forget where it was It might have been from like the Mexican league but a guy got hit by a pitch and pretended like he was going to charge a pitcher mount and just like veered off to first base like did a dead sprint It was the funniest thing ever That is awesome It was It was good stuff It was entertainment 96 at the knees as a cult strike to Xavier Edwards It’s two nothing Marlins on an Eric Wagaman home run Lazardo the former Marlin fires the 01 pitch He misses low on a slider Yeah in that second inning we saw a few times just Jesus Lazardo leaking pitches over the center of the plate Sardo we heard uh Tom McCarthy on Marlins on deck with Steven The one-1 pitch is spun out of the outer edge It called strike one and two Heard Tom McCarthy the TV playbyplay voice of the Philadelphia Phillies mentioned you know in that two start stretch where Lazardo allowed 20 earned runs He said he was just over the heart of the plate right And the fast ball won’t be that classic Lazardo fast ball if it’s over the gut One two missed low and away A change up Two and two X Yeah as they say too as as fast as that fast ball comes in it’s going to leave the bat twice as fast Two two on a line shot into left center field that is in for a base hit It three hops its way to Johan Rojos who flicks it back in but Xavier Edwards has a one out single Now that was just a really nice job by X dropping the barrel of the bat on that slider on the inside corner of the plate That was low and in but just did a nice job keeping his head on that pitch dropping the barrel of the bat and taking it into shallow center field Edwards aboard Edwards off and moving Lazardo misses inside Throw to second base is dropped by Scott it seems A head first dive into second Xavier Edwards swiped the bag That was a dart of a throw from Riomito Yeah Romito’s got a great arm back there and Scott said “No we’ll see if they review this.” You’re seeing this a lot more often Marlins as well throwing up the line on purpose to try to get them before they reach the bag but they decide not to challenge Little pitch That one misses upstairs Scott had to pretty much dive to his forehand to catch that ball and his forearm made clear contact with Edwards as he was diving in and actually it looks like the glove swiped X I I’m very curious as to why they decided not to challenge that play Uh they would have had X caught stealing but instead it’s stolen base number 12 in 18 attempts for him down two balls in a strike on Augustine Ramirez with one away in the bottom of the third Marland’s threatening for more already up two to nothing Two-1 pitch That one misses low Three and one I thought initially you know Scott grabbed Edwards on the forearm and I was wrong I thought he dropped the ball I saw a flash of white there but not the case He didn’t drop the ball I I thought initially Scott just got him with his forearm which wouldn’t count tag him with the glove but that glove did graze X before his his lead hand got to the bag on a head first And I mean the throw was offline You want to throw into the base pass 3-1 pitch That one hit high in the air Twisting foul right side Not a play You’re starting to see it more Catchers aren’t throwing directly at the bag anymore They’re throwing a little bit to the right of second base to try to again tag him before they reach there That one off start as you mentioned having to really lay out but he looked out 3-1 pitch misses inside ball 498 just missed the inside black and Augustine it’s a well- earned walkers at first and second with one away for Otto and the second walk in three innings for Lazardo today Augustine his way down to first case Otto struck out on a slider his first time Lazardo from the stretch like he almost always does working off the first base side of the rubber Comes set at the letters and Lazardo’s first pitch Otto swings and misses Really good change up low from Lazardo That was a pitch that was I think a much larger part of his repertoire when he was in Miami That change up and it’s just you know not the case much anymore Oh one checked swing Did he go Yes he did on a change up blowing away Nothing in two Yeah for Jesus Lazardo in 2024 he used that change up about 22% of the time And that’s down to about 18% in 2025 Two pitch to Lopez having a ground ball over to third Bone plucks it on to second for one On to first in time for the double play Bone Scott Kemp Scott one of the best in baseball at turning it as a second Let’s see if we can figure out the following baseball slang term Today’s phrase is oppo taco Do you know what it means [Music] Alo taco A home run hit to the opposite field with Taco His 13th and it’s a one-run game Expand your Pro refrigerant at O’Reilly Auto Parts So right now get a $15 gift card after rebate with the purchase of select AC Pro refrigerant products that include a hose and gauge Visit your O’Reilly cuz that one bounced to the backand foul into Connor Norby Trey Turner nothing in one Visit your O’Reilly Auto Parts store or O’Reillya.com You can’t make me laugh We’re giggling because I’m the only one in this booth who knew what that was It’s amazing You can’t make me giggle every single time I say the word refrigerant That’s So what is the difference between that and like AC fluid Is that a thing I think you’re making up AC fluid I don’t think you want fluid in your No that’s a bad thing right Oh on pitch Turner hammers out to left field very deep and very gone Trey Turner made this place his home during the World Baseball Classic with Team USA And that was very Team USA of him A home run down the line in lefts That’s Turner’s ninth homer on the year and the Phillies on the board It’s 2-1 in the top of the fourth Yeah he continues his hot hitting that A slider on the inner half of the plate He turns on it and you knew right off the bat that that one was gone 106 mph 413 ft into the left field bleachers That’s his ninth of the season So Cal now trying to bounce back against Kyle Schwarber A tough guy to bounce back against but he does paint 93 on the lower outside edge for a called strike one Yeah Schwber in the first was about three feet short of an opposite field home run One pitch Schweper takes outside Schwarber has 22 homers on the season Of those 22 home runs three of them to the opposite field one pitch that misses up and in a sinker at 94 Two in one Okay so AC fluid is refrigerant You know I wasn’t wrong The most common refrigerant used in air conditioners is R410A Schwarber rips the ball Foul right side That was uh off the heel of the glove of the Marlins bat boy in foul grown We count now two and two Uh Freon was previously the stand but uh it has been phased out due to its ozone depleting properties I’m I’m reading the Yes of course You know all that stuff ozone We’ll get my dad on the line if we really want to get into this Mrs Low a curveball count Hey dad got some AC questions for you here on Marlins Radio Tell me about refrigerant man Two-1 Marlins in the top of the fourth Homers have given us the only runs Two-run shot from Wagaman and a solo shot from Turner 3-2 Shorer hits that one high in the air out to center field That’s hanging up for Senoha who’s calling a converging sters off and Jav makes the catch in right center indeed Round number one Hey baseball fans listen up There’s a brand new way to experience the game at Lone Depot Park this season Introducing the upgraded Bullpen Bar and Grill The ultimate sports lounge located directly in left field that puts you right in the middle of the action Visit marlins.com/bullpen today to secure your spot at the bullpen bar and grill for an incredible baseball experience unlike anything else in the park Alec Bow takes a cutter blowing away for ball one Phillies only hit against Quantrol is that home run from Turner The Marlins got two hits against Jesus Lazardo It’s a single from X in the third but that home run from Wagamin in the second will poured in for a called strike One and one tomorrow to be determined for the fish But as Craig Mish came on in the top of the third to say it is being reported that Adam Major could be in line to be a spot start for the Marlins tomorrow Miss Low in the count two and one on Bow who popped out to short his first time up Yeah Clayton saying before the game let’s see how it goes today So far Cal working efficiently about to throw his 50th pitch of the evening One pitch in on Bow’s hands and he sprays it down the right field line That is foul and it short hops off the wall in foul ground Cuts two and two So it’ll be to be determined to possibly measure against Ranger Suarez tomorrow and Edward Cabrera Christopher Sanchez on Thursday Two two pitch That one fouled back Boom Followed by Max Kepler Boom The former Witchah State Shock from Omaha Nebraska Ended up going to college in Kansas His hometown very very busy right now Two two Boom Lines one into right center field That is in for a base hit Ster sprinting to his forehand to cut it off in right center And nice play by Kyle who fires it back in keeping Bow to a single Alec B A one out base runner And that brings up Max Kepler who bounced out to short his first time up Two-1 fish Top of the fourth Quatrol like he does each time he digs his fingers in to get that splitter grip on his right uh leg before coming set First pitch 94 mph fast ball fouled away I always think that’s fascinating watching guys get their toughest grip before they come set Like we watched Jeremiah Estrada the reliever in San Diego get that He calls it a chitter Get that change up splitter grip and he’s doing the is this Spock from Star Trek Is that That is spot Live long and prosper Yeah there you go 01 misses up and out Check swing and Kepler did not go around A ball in a strike He does the spock on the baseball and he kind of shoves the baseball in between his middle and ring finger He does that against his back leg and then when he comes set he goes to whatever grip he needs for that pitch One-1 that one misses upstairs Two balls in a strike It’s a really uncomfortable look It’s Yes but I know guys really prioritize like getting the toughest thing because if he tried doing that in the glove you would know it’s absolutely 2-1 That one ripped uh on a line to the right side of the infield That is a base hit Sters comes up firing it back in but Boom pushes to second Kepler aboard Back-to-back singles Third hit of the inning for Philly Yeah the Philly starting to make some adjustments against Quantrol here the second time through First time through Quantro did a really nice job Retired nine straight with a strike out against Kemp This time three of the four hitters that he’s seen here in the fourth ether reach base or uh Turner’s case touched them all Quantro comes set this time to the letters His first pitch to Real Muto misses high and tight at 95 for ball one I got a text from my old college roommate Matt Yusco who’s a Philly fan who’s uh listening to this game Yeah go Q’s He said “Let me know if you need me to call in and talk refrigerant.” So he’s around as well along with Mr Sacko Oh one pitch That one is in for a called strike Good fast ball 95 on the lower inside corner The count one and one on Rio Mutoo Bounced out to second his first time up Well these are good guys to know here in the dog days of summer in South Florida Now do I have to fly him down One-1 ball foul third base side one and two and JT didn’t play yesterday but coming off a very solid home stand where he was nine for 22 with a couple doubles for RBI’s and six runs across six games on two pitch misses upstairs two and Phillies were so cold then so hot Got a series sweep over the weekend Philly has won five in a row On a big time losing streak before that 2-2 one missed just off the inside edge A splitter and the count full on real Mutoo with Scott getting on deck Yeah they had lost nine of 10 If they you know played 500 ball during that stretch they’d be a first place team right now They’re two behind the Mets Mets have lost three in a row They got swept by Tampa at home this weekend Montro lifts his legs spins around and looks boom back to second base This weekend was very interesting Nine sweeps across baseball Wild was a wild Sunday There are 15 series every weekend 32 is cut on and miss 95 Cal climbed the ladder and he got it over Rio Mutoo’s barrel Swings and misses And a strike out for Quantrol His second That is out number two here in the top of the fourth And perfectly located fast up into the top of the zone Gets Real Mudo chasing He’s doing a lot more of that these days Wall down by Cal and a big second out First pitch Bryson Scott pops a foul left side and out of play Marlins up 2-1 in the top of the fourth inning with two away and runners at first and second Quattro seeing Scott who lined out to left his first time Have 15 30 teams Two of them play each other So 15 series A one pitch misses outside Nine of those 15 ended in a sweep It was the most sweeps over the course of a weekend I I saw this note yesterday in a couple of decades I think It was the Marlins first sweep of 2025 One-1 That one misses low A cutter Two balls in a strike The only team not to sweep a series this year is the Chicago White Socks And if I’m not mistaken the only team not to get swept this year Two-1 pitch is fouled back and out of play Two and two I think it’s the Cincinnati Reds And it’s weird because the Yankees and the Mets both had not gotten swept but they uh they both got swept over the weekend over the weekend No we’re going to be in Cincinnati here coming up Yeah right before the break Right before the break Cincinnati Baltimore 22 And this is low and away Have you been to Cincinnati I have Have you gone to the museum Which museum It’s attached to the ballpark They have a Reds museum It is fantastic You have to get out there I walked through that little courtyard No no no You got to go It’s above the team store They’ve got a great museum Several stories Interesting Okay I will I will go do that Quantrol spun and looked bow the lead man back the bag at second base Counts full with two away in the top of the fourth inning Runners get a head start and the payoff to stop is rolled on the ground over to first base Wagaman gloves it He tugs it the bag himself Quantrol does allow the homer to Turner but he gets out of the jam East Strands Off Base is coming in a brand new format Join with anun game Expand your vocabulary by listening to every game on the MLB app and MLB.com Take a look at guessing which baseball player or manager said the following I really don’t know what to say I’m just uh so happy I gave something These people cheer We all did I mean it was a great game Both teams played incredible It was a great game That’s Mike Piaza after he hit an eighth inning go ahead home run in the first New York Mets home game after 911 Your moments like this and more on the MLB app and MLB.com are looking looking to avoid losing 10 in a row for just the first time since the club moved to DC prior to the 2005 season And that game is all tied up at one in the bottom of the second Great series in the division tonight Mets and the Braves start at 7:15 first of three David Peterson will go opposite Spencer Schwelenbach Full starting pitchers tonight through a complete game in their last outing And the Akunia brothers will face off for the first time in the majors But thank you very much Steven Stro And uh we were just getting a look on the uh telecast that we’re given here of Calu Quantrol kind of hobbling off after that inning Roberto Hernandez takes that big sweeper from Lazardo for a called strike Nothing in one Two-1 Marlins in the bottom of the fourth Quantrol hopped off the hill to go cover first base if needed on an inning ending three unassisted put out One pitch to Hernandez misses low and the count is a ball and a strike Wagaman took it to the bag himself but as Wagaman tapped the pillow Quantrol went grabbing for his left hamstring 1-1 pitch is fouled back and the count is one and two So Quantrol you know kind of limped off or at least walked gingerly off towards the third base dugout and Clayton McCulla immediately got on the bullpen phone to call down there But nobody’s on a hill yet from Miss Low in the count two and two A little surprising that nobody is uh throwing in the Marlins bullpen just yet Although somebody may be doing calisthenics behind the bench before they start throwing pitches Two two pitch foul tip held on to by the catcher Romo A sweeper from Lazardo And that’s a punch out round number one here in the bottom of the fourth Yeah for Luzardo Three of the four strikeouts coming on that pitch As for Tao Quantrol yeah we’ll see what happened there Hopefully nothing too serious He’s looked really good here today Lazardo now seeing Eric Wagman Missed up and out A sweeper for ball one Wagaman giving the Marlins their only run production today but it has been enough It was a two-run homer His first time up in the second And Wagman drills one in the air out to left field again But ballpark holding this 20 ft shy of the track in left Brandon Marsh loves it Round number two Up Connor Norby who bounced out to third his first time up You mentioned a little earlier Jesus Lazardo a big Florida Panthers fan We just saw some photos Yes he is On the telecast of him taking Braxton Garrett Anthony Bender Nick Cortez out to Amarant Bank Arena in Sunrise Sounds about right Pitch is in for a cold strike 97 on the upper inside corner Yeah those four are really close They actually all went and grabbed breakfast yesterday Where’d they go Do you know That I don’t know But Jesus Luzardo is a big foodie One pitch I misses inside He’s the go-to When he was when he was here with the Marlins I’m like “All right tell me where do we go?” Really Where do we go Buttermilk kitchen Big popular uh breakfast spot there in Atlanta One misses high and tight Two in one Got that from Zeus He goes “Hey you like breakfast It’s the place to go.” Interesting Yeah he’s a big foodie He’s got a place every road city I assume Yeah he looks up places Is it really all breakfast No not all breakfast Two and two I I mean it’s tough for these guys to have dinner It really is It really is Exactly Unless it’s an off day You’re getting in early on a g on a getaway day and you’re getting into that city early where you’ve got a day game like we had so many of That is the benefit Two two from Lazardo to Norby Check swing on a change up Did he go Norby did not according to Austin Jones over at first base Counts full But Lazardo was a big team guy He liked to get the group together Let’s get out get together away from the field Let’s let’s go grab some food Three and two on Connor Two men gone bases empty and the payoff pitch is smacked into center field or left field pardon That’s falling in on Marsh On one hoppy picks it up gets a two-out single for Norby Base runner for the fish And now Nick Cortez out to left his first time It’s tough I think what I’m noticing right now on these road trips especially like just the three game series get in get out There’s there’s no time for dinner There’s no time There’s no time There few times can you make time for normal people things No First pitch to Nick Cortez ripped on the ground to foul third base side I wonder if they went to Green Street Cafe cuz that’s Stephen and Wag’s favorite spot Green Street Yep It’s a popular spot in the Grove Yeah he’s all about it You’ve seen Wags there What Couple times Eight times Yeah a couple times Last time I was actually going to sit next to him at the at the high top but I wanted to let him eat his French toast He did a little solo mission for breakfast He did He did He did have a solo mission I’m all about getting food by yourself Me too It’s nice I won’t leave me alone I want to talk to you What other activities do you do by yourself I do a lot of activities by myself Oh I travel I have traveled overseas by my by myself That’s amazing over to check on Norby and he’s back in standing up I have I have traveled It is very liberating Yeah I’m not as adventurous I I was going to say movie theaters by myself going to see a movie Oh I I’ve done that once or twice Well one is cut on a miss change up Nothing Two I really like it You know because you sit there you just ingest it entirely and that’s it Yeah I’ve done the movies I’m a big movie person too I like to like go to the movies is what I’m saying that experience Me and my parents Yeah me and my parents just went to uh just went to see the the Mission Impossible the latest Mission Impossible A lot of fun Two from Lazardo to Forz has to wait We throw over to check on Norby He’s back again standing up You saw noted 5’5 stunt man Tom Cruz Everybody thinks like my father especially like back in his younger days Sorry dad calling you out there Look like Tom Cruz Like people have stopped us two pitch and this is low To which I have to explain to them that my father’s about a foot taller This lady literally were sitting at this was probably 10 years ago now Can I see your ID I’m like lady Tom Cruz not hanging out a Mexican restaurant in Palmetto Bay One too That one sprayed foul right side into the seats Tom Cruz listed at 57 That might be the NBA bump right The NBA always gives people two inches got those lifts in his shoes Yeah Hey but he does all his own stunts He does all of his own stunts Incredible I have heights from other notable uh big screen actors Very good Brad Pitt 5’11 Awesome Runner on the move That one misses low Mitos throw to second base That short hops its way to stop I think that hit Norby on a head first dive And uh Norby does get credit for a stolen base but he uh he took a rip from Riomit on that throw down Yeah sixth stolen base of the season As we take another look on our monitors it looks like it got him Oof that’s a tough spot Right there in the armpit area of his left arm Ouch On the one hop Connor going to try and shake that thing off but he is in scoring position with two men out in the bottom of the fourth inning It’s 2-1 Marlins over the Phillies Lazardo’s 2-2 His former battery mate Fortez is a bouncing ball left side of the infield Diving stop or a sliding stop pardon on the backhand by the shortstop Turner but he pops up with nowhere to go And Forz aboard on the infield single Forz putting together a nice at bat Finally gets the slider It was low out of the zone but able to drop the barrel of the bat and sneak it past Turner there at short If B reached for it it was kind of in between the two of them It was a chopper Yeah 56 full Tony Gwyn special and Forz with a single on the heels of the Norvy single And with two outs the Marlins have something cooking Two quick outs for Lazardo this frame Lazardo got Sters on that sweeper which broke away from him First pitch Kyle Sters takes low and away And uh take your own Muto was trying to stand up on the slip and slide for a minute there Yeah popped up for a minute then kind of fell by the wayside But that was a sweeper from Lazardo to Sters Heavy heavy dosage of sweepers against Sters Yeah First time You’re starting to see a lot of pitchers work backwards against him No pitch Could he hold up No hours went around on a sweeper low and away chased count one and one Yeah he’s having a really tough time at the moment through these struggles through this slump with the breaking balls down He had done such a good job early in the season covering what was his gap last season which was a fast ball up So we saw teams using that data that they had last year saying “Hey look he’s swinging through these every time Let’s go high and tight.” And he was getting to them Sourers rips the ball on the ground That was a fast ball but Alec Bow the third baseman plucked it and he lost to first base in time to get piled and end the inning So let’s see if we can figure out the following baseball slang term Today’s phrase is oppo taco Do you know what it means Oppo taco A home run hit to the opposite field with an taco His 13th and it’s a one-run game Expand your vocabulary by listening to every game on the MLB app and MLB.com Moments in baseball have been broadcast on the radio since 1921 Smith courts went into right down the line It may go crazy folks Go crazy It’s a home run and the Cardinals have won the game behind the three to two and a home run by the Wizards Catch the next unforgettable call on the MLB app and MLB.com Take a hack at guessing which baseball player or manager said to follow I really don’t know what to say I’m just uh so happy I gave something These people cheer We all did I mean it was a great game Both teams played incredible It was a great game That’s Mike Piaza after he hit an eighth inning go-ahead home run in the first New York Mets home game after 911 Hear moments like this and more on the MLB app and MLB.com Scan the QR code to cast your 2025 Pro Spirit MLB All-Star ballot daily or visit mlb.com/vote Looks like Kelly Sacko and Steven Stro I’m Jack McFantrol back out there for the top of the fifth inning He is working with a 2-1 lead over the Phillies for the Fish And Marlin’s right-hander fires the first pitch to Otto Kemp and he misses high and tight for ball one Oh I guess that grazed him Really Excuse me Everybody is very confused in the Marlins dug out Clayton McCulla’s got his hands up and they’re playing on Guess got him Huh I mean Forz the catcher caught that ball no problem but Kemp immediately went down to first base That might have gotten an arm hair on Kemp’s left forearm Maybe first pitch to Brandon Marsh misses outside for ball one So it’s a first pitch hit by pitch to put Kemp at first base to open the top of the fifth inning Montrol again He was gripping his left hamstring when he went to cover first base to end the top of the fourth inning but he’s back out there now And he misses outside to run the count to two and0 in Marsh’s favor There is action in the Marlins bullpen Ronnie Enriquez has been throwing for a bit Cal had to fire 30 pitches in that fourth inning Yeah that pitch count’s still manageable That was a foul tip held on to by Forz to count two and one Yeah just 72 pitches here tonight Last time out season high of 99 pitches See if he can get out of this one 2-1 Marsh takes slow and away That was a four seam fast ball at 94 and they count three and one to the Philly eight hitter with seven hitter already standing at first base Marsh we mentioned 3-1 pitch to him is hammer out to center field very deep so back at the track at the wall he’s looking up and that short hops off the wall in left center Marsh cruising into second base Kemp had to hold but he’s into third and that is a double the Phillies have jumped on Quantrol over the last inning plus a hit by pitch to Kemp and now a double to Marsh the runners at second and third Nobody out for Johan Rojos It looks like that’ll do it for Cal Quantrol Clayton McCulla making his way out to the mound Ronnie Enriquez is getting his last couple warm-up pitches in So Clayton goes out there to take the ball from Quantrol at 74 pitches One clap he hands it off Cal goes four innings plus So Quantrol is done We will see Ronnie Enriquez after we come back from the pitching change Great moments in baseball have been broadcast on the radio since 1921 Smith courts went into right down the line It may go crazy folks Go crazy It’s a home run and the Cardinals have won the game by the three-2 and a home run by the Wizards unforgettable on the MLB app and MLB.com Let’s see if you can figure out the following baseball slang term Today’s phrase is oppo taco You know what it means Oppo taco A home run hit to the opposite field with an oppo taco His 13th and it’s a one-run game Expand your vocabulary by listening to every game on the MLB app and MLB.com Take a hack at guessing which baseball player or manager said the following I really don’t know what to say I’m just uh so happy I gave something These people cheer We all did I mean it was a great game Both teams played incredible It was a great game That’s Mike Piaza after he hit an eighth inning go-ahad home run in the first New York Mets home game after 911 Hear moments like this and more on the MLB app and MLB.com Not an outdated heightened weight 24 year old from the Dominican Republic turns 25 later this week Ronnie making his 31st appearance He’s got a 327 erra In 33 innings Enriquez has punched out 45 guys That’s 12 and a half strikeouts per nine And he would love a punch out right now Enriquez seeing the nineman Johan Rojas Cow Quattro before leaving this game with nobody gone in the top of the fifth hit Otto Kemp maybe kind of sort of on a pitch that grazed his elbow First pitch to Rojas spanked up the middle that is in for a base hit One run comes in to score Marsh moves up 90 ft Rojos takes off for second base The throw to second and Rojas avoided the tag of the shortstop Lopez but he did it by going out of the baseline So Johan Rojas plates a run with an RBI single We’re tied at two in the top of the fifth but Rojos tried to get an extra 90 ft when the throw from the center fielder Senoh came home The throw was cut off by the pitcher Enriquez and Enriquez fired to second base and Rojas tried dancing around it He left the baseline and Marsh stayed put at third the whole time So runner at third one man out The first pitch Detroit Trey Turner misses up and in for ball one Did you get all that My goodness Do you Do you need a minute No Take a breath It was just a a serious That was wild It was really weird But again a tying run did come in on that RBI single from Rojos What a pitch He is in for a call Strike 96 on the lower inside edge Rojos stung a ball up the middle RBI knock and he was caught going to second base Throw went from the center fielder to the pitcher to the covering shorts stop So 816 1-1 misses low and away Turner checked the swing on a sweeper During all that cacophony Brandon Marsh stayed at third base after pushing to third on the single One away Top of the order up Marlin’s infield in and the two-1 pitch Turner swinging away Lifts one out to shallow right field Sters’s working in Edwards pushing back X on his way back He makes the catch Xavier Edwards with an over the shoulder catch He reached out beyond his left shoulder Might have overran it a little bit and he somehow plucked it with his back facing home plate Nice play by X and Marsh was not tagging at third So he’s got to go back there A huge out number two on a tremendous play by Edwards Wow that is not easy for Xavier Edwards who read the ball off the bat immediately Those basket catches are so tough Utilizing his speed you see the range Well done Big out The pitch clock was dwindling down to zero but it was not properly reset So when Ronnie Enriquez was coming set Nick Cortez popped out of the crowds to run out and exhaust a mound visit but the home plate umpire Mike Esbrook said “No that was our fault here.” And know Kyle Schwber is granted time out of the two out matchup in the top of the fifth inning We’re tied at two after that RBI single from Rojas Well this will be really huge if Ronnie can get out of this He’s been struggling as of late First pitcher takes low That was a change up for Ronnie He really burst on the scene for the Marlins who his first 23 games had a 1.93 RA with those 34 strikeouts last seven games an 8.22 erra Ronnie was looking like he could be the Marlins Yeah Pitch that one A line shot into left field That is in for a base hit on two hops It gets to Hernandez in left center Kyle Schwarber It ain’t a homer but it does give the Phillies a lead an opposite field RBI single 3-2 Philadelphia and a two-run top of the fifth Yeah that change up was a ball and a half off the plate but Schwber did such a nice job just letting that ball travel deep in the zone and taking it the opposite way It’s really unfortunate that he’s in our division because he is so good Oh he’s so good First pitch to Alec Bol 98 but misses low for ball one I I would have to say too he’s like underrated good Yeah You know I think he’s not in the conversation for best hitter on the planet or best hitter in the league because he doesn’t play a position It’s just a DH He strikes out a lot on a pitch misses outside So you know when you have the conversation and I’ll bring up what we were talking about earlier in the game most powerful hitters in baseball you can’t get past the top three or four without mentioning Schwarber I think Judge and Otani are immediately up there Then I think you got to look at guys like John Carlos Stanton and then it’s Schwarber two pitch that would fouled back and that will get into the seats out of play Now he leads the Phillies with 52 RBI’s That is 16 more than the next guy being Nick Castanos with 36 And again this is a lethal Phillies lineup pitch That would cut on and miss 98 mph fast ball at the knees They count two and two on both Kyle Schwarber top 10 in all of Major League Baseball in OPS and slugging percentage He’s fourth in homers The 2-2 misses outside 52 RBI’s has him eighth in all of Major League Baseball will get a head start at first Payoff hits that one called third strike 97 A perfect fast ball on the lower inside corner Boom goes down looking but Enriquez let’s see if we can figure out the following baseball slang term Today’s phrase is oppo taco You know what it means taco A home run hit to the opposite field Austin with an oppo taco His 13th and it’s a one-run game Expand your vocabulary by listening to every game on the MLB app and MLB.com Take a hack at guessing which baseball player or manager said the Leland Marlins Hall of Fame induction during a special pregame ceremony Plus the first 8,000 fans receive a commemorative bobblehead presented by Mkasuki Resort in Casino and Casino Don’t miss it from marlins.com/tick One pitch to Javier Sinohai flicks into shallow right center field Second baseman Scott working back and he makes the catch on the move for out number one The first pitch from Lazardo in that inning was a 94 mph sinker and then he got to know to lift a change up into shallow right center That pop out is the first out of the bottom of the fifth and Xavier Edwards is seeing his former teammate Lazardo Now Phillies have a lead It’s 32 Philadelphia in the bottom of the fifth here in game two of this four game set X the switch hitter batting right-handed against the southpot Lazardo There’s more action in the Marlins bullpen Couple of guys are up and throwing in there Look like Freddy Tarn is up Pitch to X is in for a called strike There’s somebody else slowly throwing Might be Calvin Poche They did get Calvin up yesterday One X squared the to bunt but he pulled it back to confirmed Calvin Coch is the other arm They got him up yesterday but didn’t end up getting him in the game Lazardo ducks and fires and that one misses up and out A sweeper Two balls in a strike Phillies have three runs on six hits The Marlins two runs on four hits 2-1 now would cut on and miss Good change up at X out in front Kind of even two balls and two strikes with one away and the base is empty Lazardo about to throw his 80th pitch Guy that can get to the 100 pitch total 2-2 X takes upstairs His count runs full but you start to see the fast ball falling a couple ticks Same with the change up Same with the sweeper Yeah he’s what worked over aundred pitches five times this season Two pitch That one lifted high in the air out to shallow right center again The right fielder Kepler drifted the spot He makes the catch off his right shoulder for out number two So Edwards jogs back to the third base dugout and that brings up Harstine Ramirez who has struck out and walked 0 for three with a sacrifice fly last night in the series opener but had a multi homer day in Washington over the weekend First pitch Augustine swinging away He cuts and misses over the top of a change up Count nothing and one It is one of the more aesthetically pleasing pitches to watch in baseball A wellexecuted change up is such a joy A one That one smothered foul right behind the plate This game fouled that straight down Went right back The change up Lazardo did And the count is nothing and two I like to see those old school 12 to6 curve balls I feel like you don’t see them a ton anymore Those are all so fun There are very few guys that throw it Oh two No one misses outside And I was having that conversation I believe with Daniel Mosquez I was asking why don’t we see the big bender anymore Cuz you know Kershaw obviously threw that big 12 to six curve ball There were other guys Adam Wright and St Louis And there were a couple of other guys that are that are on the younger side that were throwing 126 curve balls on two pitch misses low McKenzie Gore in Washington had a big 12-6 breaking ball that he really scrapped Matthew Liberator in St Louis kind of same deal It’s like why aren’t guys throwing that anymore And it’s just it’s so easy to pick up for guys if it’s not super good and sharp That had a hard ground ball ripped through the left side of the infield That was a change up and Augustine was ready for that one He smoked it about shin high off the bat at 111 mph It’s a two-out single The Marlins saw McKenzie Gore just the other day in Washington tagged him for a couple of runs but he leads Major League Baseball with 19 strikeouts And Gore you kind of firmed up that curveball instead of the big looping mid70 mph curveball First pitch is a called strike to Otto Lopez on a sweeper He made it a little bit harder It’s in the low 80s now But it’s it’s such an easy pitch to pick up if it pops off the guy’s fingertips Oh one in for a called strike nothing 296 caught the upper inside edge 3-2 Marlin or 3-2 Phillies pardon over the Marlins in the bottom of the fifth inning Two men gone and with Ramirez at first the O2 toa Otto roped on the ground up the middle and through for a base hit sit Ramirez around second headed to third Rojos lofts it into second base So Augustine goes corner to corner on that auto single Fish have runners at the corners with two away in the bottom of the fifth That was a really nice read by Ramirez who was going on contact with two outs Saw that sneak pass Turner into center field Doesn’t hesitate for a second First and third now for Hernandez Roberto Hernandez so far today has walked and struck out Lazardo his next pitch will be number 90 on the night first This is low and in to Hernandez That was a change up Roberto Hernandez came into the game yesterday as a defensive replacement He went 0 for two at the plate Auto pitch The ground ball over to short Turner backs up on it He goes to short way to second and gets the middleman Lopez Six to four on the fielders choice and the Marlins strand a man in at third Great moments in baseball have been broadcast on the radio since 1921 Smith Clarks went into right down the line It may go crazy folks Go crazy It’s a home run and the Cardinals have won the game by Combine Get one of access to over 300 top prospects as we take you in the cage on the field and into the sky during six straight hours of live coverage Plus exclusive interviews with the players who could become your team’s next superstar I’ve played kicks for a while Um I’ve kind of been slow with my hands The 2025 MLB Draft Combine coverage continues right here on MLB Network McCulla was named to the coaching staff He had some comments this afternoon excited about that It’s a cool thing I appreciate Dave Robin for sending that invitation He you know spoke to me really early in the season It might have been around opening day or just before And um so it’s a fun thing to be around the best players you know in baseball for a few days in a very you know relaxed environment you know everyone competes so hard against each other but then you know know there also is a you know part of just gamesmanship and you know you certainly appreciate the talent level the skill level that you get to watch every night on a major league field and to have the best come together for the Midsummer Classic So I think you know anytime you just get to kind of be around the best players in the game and to catch up with Dave again for a few days will be will be fun to the new arm Freddy Turner That was a big deal I mean I I think you know he kind of Of course Clayton never wants to talk about himself like no manager ever does but it is cool that Dave Roberts thinks so highly of Clayton and that’s our guy now right so we have one Marlin that is off to Atlanta and of course one other is going to be selected we shall see who but awesome news I think for the organization to know that Clayton will be right next to Dave Roberts 100% two pitch this is upstairs where in the top of the sixth inning it’s 3-2 Phillies and Tarno comes on He can give the Marlins multiple innings of relief He can give Clayton McCulla multiple innings of relief And it was funny the follow-ups for Clayton you know asking if he was going to coach first base or not That one missed low and the count is two and two Obviously he was the first base coach for the Dodgers last year He was you know huge driving force between behind Sho Otani’s 50/50 season Helped him become a higher volume and higher efficiency base stealer And uh said he will not be coaching first base in the all-star game Two pitch misses up and out counts full Instead he will be sitting in the dugout right next to Dave Roberts Chewing out some sunflower seeds The followup that you know I guess totally slipped my mind to ask is what flavor 3-2 now And a chopping ground ball over to second base X has got it He fires first and Tarno gets Kepler for the first out of the six That being said what’s your go-to flavor Are you a original dill pickle Dill pickle Yeah I love the tanginess of the dill pickle What about you I really like the cracked pepper I like the little spiciness And there was this one I’m trying to remember Everybody hated it but me In high school I used to go crawl under the fence first pitch called strike the JT Romito which was dividing up our field and the gas station next to us to go get these sunflower seeds and everybody would eat your seeds if you bought seeds So I got the flavor nobody liked Sure So I could be selfish and eat them all myself But one pitch bowed back found nothing in two It was some kind of fiery type of very spicy jalapeno maybe Sure That been Let’s go with jalapeno Jalapeno Yeah that’s kind of a common one Spicy ones There’s like a sweet and spicy one too that I see a lot Stephen did you have a go-to seed I’m not a seed person with two pitches on the right side Yeah And even when I did play little league I I like to chew gum but I wasn’t like a seeds person Were you a big league chew guy I was Who wasn’t a big chew I always ate it all in one Like you know how Yeah You put it all in a wad right You try to like be a little conservative but never worked Two pitch that had a bouncing ball right back the hill Tarno off the mound and an underhand toss to first base is in time Route number two Did you guys do the whole singing and chirping in the dugout Like would you heckle and like promote your offense and find nicknames and start screaming I thought that was one of the most annoying things as a little eager We I will say that if I knew that someone got rattled on the mound you would do it We use that to our advantage Pitch to Bryson is a spike change up Bounced about a foot in front of the plate for ball one Anything to win that little league championship of course Where did you play Kelly growing up in Florida I played down in Pinerest/Palmetto Bay So we we moved a few times We were in Chapman Field Oh pitch Scott takes a good sinker from Tarno on the lower outside edge One and one Then we moved to what’s called now Evelyn Greer Park but we just called it Pinerest Park back then And then they built Palmetto Bay Park Beautiful facility My senior year I think we played there in high school One spins outside of curveball I wonder who like the dominant Florida team was that would sometimes represent the Little League World Series because Jersey was always Tom River Tom River Yeah Right Isn’t that where um what’s his name played Who who on pitch popped up foul left side of the seat got a play Todd Frasier Yeah Just just I think people joke they’re just like when you meet him you will know within the first three minutes of talking to him that he won a little league World Series That’s Kyle Celoff’s dream is to to call Little League World Series Really Yes Two pitch misses low and the count runs full on Bryson stock One of the best video games on the Wii of all time Literally Really Oh my goodness Did you see they’re bringing like back backyard baseball back Yes I’m so excited about that I love Pablo Sanchez Pablo Sanchez forever 3-2 pitch That 96 at the knees is a cold third strike on Stock One two three inning for Freddy Tarno at the bullpen Take a hack at guessing which baseball player or manager said the following I really don’t know what to say I’m just uh so happy I gave something These people cheer We all did I mean it Marlins gear alongside Kelly Sacko and Steven Stum of Jack McMullen Amed Jordan handling things in studio back in the flagship Fox Sports 940 We’re in the bottom of the sixth inning and Eric Wagaman just took called strike one Was a change up from Jesus Lazardo for one pitch Wagaman takes inside That was a four seamer at 96 Lazardo has now thrown 92 pitches Working with a lead right now So it’s 3-2 Philadelphia and the 1-1 This is inside two and one It looks like the Phillies have a lefty warming up in the bullpen Marlins just got a righty up to one pitch Misses low and they count three balls at the strike Fagman with the advantage Lefty loosening for Philadelphia The Phillies won 5-2 yesterday They lead 3-2 here And the 3-1 spins outside Wagaman draws a leadoff walk here to begin the bottom of the sixth inning Wagman has supplied the only run production for the Marlins against Jesus Lazardo so far It was a two-run home run in the bottom of the second The Marlins a two nothing lead out of the gates But then Trey Turner hit a solo homer in the fourth Pair of RBI singles from Rojos and Schwber in the fifth First pitch to Connor Norby Change up the misses low for ball one The wagon at first Norby the hitter Connor is one for two today Tanner Banks is the southpaw warming in the Phillies bullpen Pitch Connor swings and misses It was late on a secret 95 saw a uh given the context funny tweet from Alex Pavlovich of NBC Sports Bay Area 1-1 smoke down the left field line but twisting foul into the seats one and two Alex Pavlovich reports that Bob Melvin said Raphael Devers will DH and hit third today in his Giant debut he will take ground balls at first base over the next few days Then ultimate play ultimately DH and play first for the Giants No third base for Devils One two misses low Of course that was the hangup in Boston that ultimately was a driving force in his trade to San Francisco Can’t be sure you know the entire reasoning behind moving de but Raphael Devers seemed like the face of the Red Sox franchise but now a giant 22 misses upstairs and the count runs full Yeah when he was traded quote coming out from Deborah saying hey I’ll play wherever the team needs me That was uh not the case out of spring training in Boston does not exception to the ask to play first base with Christ out Also took exception to Alex Bregman’s presence Red Sox signed him 3-2 pitch fouled straight down Count remains full Lazardo is about to throw his3rd pitch of the night A season high for Lousardo 105 He’s done that three times this season 3-2 Orby takes low And that’s backto-back walks here to open the sixth inning And be a little surprising if Rob Thompson did not come out of the dugout And here he is Two leadoff walks here in the sixth Thompson will make his way to the Philly mound in call to the Philly’s bullpen Thompson will take the ball from Lazardo at 103 pitches That’ll bring up another lefty Tanner Banks Southpaw will come into the game Your day in baseball starts with MLB Central Let’s get it started Lead off your morning with in-depth breakdowns Perfect balance Interviews with the players Get back to the fast ball I exciting promotions all under one roof Get your seats now at marlins.com/tick New arm into the game for the Phillies Jesus Lazardo is done in his return to Miami Lazardo throw 103 pitches but he did walk the first two guys in the bottom of the sixth So Nick Forez gears up for a new arm It’s a lefty Tanner Banks 33-y old from Riverton Utah was a ute White Sox took him in the 18th round back in 2014 But Banks this is his 31st appearance on the year for the Phillies in 31 innings Got a 406 ERA In those 31 innings he struck out 32 and walked just five But Banks is seeing Forez here This is a sack bunt situation Forz not bunting and he takes upstairs for ball one Yeah Forz going to see a lot of that pitch right there The slider sweeper and a fast ball It tops out right around 92 93 miles per hour What pitch Cortez takes That’s a sinker at 92 in for a called strike But he does a really good job at pounding the zone Does not walk a ton of people where on the flip side Jesus Lazardo issued four walks on the day That is a season high One-1 Cortez fouls it back The count is one and two The line is not yet final on Jesus Lazardo because the runners at first and second are his Marlins trailing three to2 here in the bottom of the six The Philadelphia Phillies Are you a little surprised isn’t bunting here Yeah especially Forz is such a great bunter One two Nick bounces one That is a foul ball first base line And it was a one hopper It seemed like it was right over the bag at first but it was to the right of the chuck And Austin Jones at first base confirmed that Yeah And Bone playing well behind the bag We saw Forz do this over the weekend too He just does a really nice job of laying down a bunt One two from Banks to Forz on the way And that one check swing He had a bouncing ball over to third base Spo has got it He fires on the move to first A five to3 put out actually does the job effectively I think Forz got his knob of the bat and then bounced into fair territory It was kind of a routine ground ball over to third base Yeah that was a funky one He was shocked there for a second That ball ended up being down into the box and shoots straight forward towards Bow at third base So works as good as the sacrifice but so runners at second and third now with the Marlins down by one and Banks seeing Kyle Sters here Billy infield drawn in that a bouncing ball over to third Bow has got it He can’t come home He throws to first It’s his only play He gets Sters but a couple of soft ground balls over to third end up plating a run Wagamman scores from third base Norby pushes to third and we’re tied at three here in the bottom of the sixth Yeah those walks coming back to haunt the Phillies That ball up the third baseline just soft enough that a charging bone not able to get the job done JT Ramino signaling go to first No play here with two men out and a runner at third the first pitch to Javier Senohas poured in for a called strike It was a sweeper at 82 Those two productive ground outs to third base Uh Kyle Sters hit that ball 61 m an hour One pitch misses low and away That was in on his handle Cortez hit that ball 34 miles an hour off the knob of his bat 1-1 So peels one down the right field line that is twisting foul into the seats out of play So it made it banks one and two We’ll see if Java can come up with a big hit here He’s been struggling at the plate Starting to see a little frustration from him He’s 0 for two today with a ground out to first in the third and a pop out to second in the fourth One two senoha Did he check his swing He did on a change up low and away It looked close from up here but Senoha given the benefit of the doubt from the first base umpire Austin Jones Yeah Phillies fans not happy about that one First glance to close over the 2-2 Two men gone Bottom of the sixth The pitch misses low Another change up The count runs full It’s at the top of the order and Xavier Edwards waiting on deck The ominous violin gets us ready for the payoff pitch 3-2 That one A line shot into left center field That will get in and that will hop its way to the wall Senoha around second He’s headed to third base Relay throw coming into third is late It hit off Senoha and Javi has a go-ahead RBI triple Norby walked home from third Senoha sprints into third And if they if that ain’t a get-right swing I don’t know what is It’s 43 Marlins in the bottom of the six Yeah you love to see it He gets the slider that comes in on his hands He was sitting on it and he got all of it 97 miles per hour off the bat Splits the left and center fielder He was going on the run I mean that’s got to feel good You saw everybody in that Marlins dugout up on their feet They love seeing their little brother there and Java get the big hit get it done Senoha popped up pounding his chest He was slamming the Miami and cursive across the chest The first bit to Xavier Edwards is on the outside edge for a called strike The Marlins retake the lead after a two-run top of the fifth for Philly It’s a two-run bottom of the sixth for the Marlins They’re still threatening in the 01 pitch where it slaps foul right side That was off the netting at top the Phillies dugout In the Marlins bullpen Tyler Phillips has been up and throwing for quite a while be throwing in that Philly bullpen and the O2 to X is lined into right center field Rojos on the move So is Kepler and that ate up Kepler He slid and he just dropped the ball He was caught in between backhanding that and making a basket catch and he made neither So Senoha comes in to score from third and that is some breathing room for the Fish It’s 53 in the bottom of the six Yeah that’s huge for the Marlins Kepler coming in hard and thinking “Oh wait Hold on Maybe I don’t.” Maybe came in a little bit too hard on that Handcuffed them Didn’t really know how to approach that baseball Marlins take the advantage They now have a two-run lead They score that an RBI single for Xavier Edwards But Max Kepler will tell you he should have that grab eight days a week Oh yeah It looked almost as if he like charged too hard Caught him in between X’s at first Augustine Ramirez the hitter now And Caleb Cotam the Philly pitching coach is out chatting with Tanner Banks and the rest of the Phillies infield 53 Marlins in the bottom of the sixth inning And this is a crooked number The one that the Marlins have hunted all season long Seventh hitter of the inning is Augustine Banks set at the letters and his first pitch has to wait He throws over to first to check on Edwards who’s back in standing up Ander Banks his first pitch to Ramirez on the way And Augustine could not hold up on a fast ball upstairs He went around on a check swing and the count’s nothing in one Of these three runs in this inning two of which were charged to Jesus Lazardo So the line on him is officially final A one pitch Augustine whacks and misses that 92 mph fast I think that back swing might have actually caught Real Muto in the catcher mask I mean Augustine that was a big swing He was trying to break a window in left field Count nothing in two Lazardo five innings six hits four earned runs He walked four and punched out four 02 Ramirez swings and misses 94 upstairs and Banks cuts down Augustine to end the inning but the damage done a three spot in the six Moments in baseball have been broadcast on the radio since 1921 Smith courts went into right down the line It may go crazy folks Go crazy It’s a home run and the Cardinals have won the game by the app and mlb.com Pilot with low lag for a smooth connection Exfinity the Wi-Fi is boom Right-hander into the ball game Tyler Phillips with the fish up five-3 in the top of the seventh Marlins to get back into the winning ways after dropping the series opener yesterday 5-2 and also looking to snap the Phillies fivegame winning streak That pitch a called strike 96 on the lower inside corner and the count nothing and one to Otto Kemp and top of seventh Marlins up 5-3 Kemp has struck out and was hit by a pitch in the 01 Kemp digs low McMullen Kelly Sacko and Steven Stum here with you Two of a four game set tomorrow night back in action The old Wednesday night game 1-1 the bouncing ball foul left side and the count one and two 640 first pitch not 610 like tonight we are uh giving some grace to Ice Cats viewers they should get going here in about what 5 10 minutes the Panthers and the Oilers should be sometime 8:00 hour we shall see game six Panthers trying to close it out on home ice as Phillips is one That one ran inside at 97 just off the plate inside and Lopez or and uh pardon Kemp checked the swing in the count two and two thing is when I see the name Otto I just assume Lopez I’m with you or the orange or the orange two from Phillips to Kemp Yeah he did Check that check swing Did he go Yes he did Austin Jones confirmed that on the first base line and Otto Kemp is down swinging on Phillips his first strike out tonight And our backup home plate umpire Kelly Sack was all over all over It looks like Aaron Lenhard was all over in the third base dugout too He said “Yeah.” Phillips a starter with this team First pitch to Brandon Marsh misses outside facing his former team the team that he debuted with just a couple of appearances into his major league career Tyler Phillips threw a complete game shut out for the Phillies last year Pitch having a ground ball and a broken bat over to third base Norby’s got it Takes all the time in the world and lofts over to first base in time for out number two Phillips was acquired by the Marlins on opening day It was fun listening to his appearance on the Pardon My Take podcast where he explained you know how he just showed up on opening day and had to meet all these people and it’s like “Hey I’m Tyler Nice to meet you.” With all his Phillies gear Yeah I wasn’t in spring training for the entirety of it First pitch to Johan Roas is a punt He tried getting it down to third base line but Norby picks it up Foul Count nothing and one in the top of the seventh Two men gone bases empty Fish up five to three Phillips was uh good chatting with him about being a father on Father’s Day that a little Frank and uh baby on its way Action in both bullpens right now Phillips Marlins hoping gets him through a seventh and then likely Calvin Fosche for the eighth Joe Ross is up and throwing in the Philly bullpen A one one misses low A sinker at 97 This is as hard as Phillips has thrown in a Marlins uniform Yeah Well a little extra juice against your former team Oh yeah One one miss low and away That was another sink at 97 bodied right-hander Hicks in deals 2-1 and that one a ground ball off the hands of Rojas It’s a dribbler over to Norby at third He’s got it and he throws to first in time to end the one two3 inning Time to stretch here at Lone Depot Park and the Marlins carry a 53 lead in the bottom of the like Joe Ross Joe Ross the 32-year-old from Berkeley California 25th overall pick for the Padres’s in 2011 at a high school in the Bay Area Joe Ross was with the Nats for a long time and then spent last year with the Brewers this year with the Phillies This is his 25th appearance for Philadelphia He’s got a 4.86 ERA across 33 and a third innings Ross is a guy that will typically try and eat up the later innings when Philly is trailing And it is uh where they find themselves right now Marlins looking to get even in this four game set Ross fires a cold strike into Otto Lopez run the count to nothing and one We’re in the bottom of the seventh inning The Marlins lead five to three on Tuesday night in Miami Cross working from the stretch with nobody on a former starter and his 01 pitch misses outside a tight turning slider at 88 It’ll be Lopez Hernandez Wagaman against Ross but Harry Berto will not be hitting Sanchez is waiting in the on deck circle as a pinch hitter Looking for insurance up by two 1-1 had a called strike 95 on the outside edge There’s a little flip-flopping No Calvin Foch warming anymore in the Marlins bullpen Instead it’s Anthony Bender Could you see Foscher gearing for a nine Maybe Yeah I guess we’ll see Two is a spinner that’s fouled away Remains a ball in two strikes If there’s anything we know about the way that the Marlins like to operate it’s all about matchups It’s all about saying “All right who lines up best What is the best situation we can put them in to find success?” Maybe worried about Trey Turner One-two pitch hit high in the air down the right field line that twisting into the seats and out of play Bender matches up supremely well with right-handed hitters So you think okay you give Turner and Bone fits but then you got a lefty Schwarber sandwiched in between them then a lefty Kepler to follow I have a good baseball buzzword Oh boy fire me up Pocket finding I guess that would be a phrase because it’s more than one word One two misses outside But you like you like the buzz word pocket I do Yeah Okay Got to find a good pocket Pocket is a good word Pocket Pocket finding I don’t think has ever been said I think that you created that No I didn’t Pocket finding They want to find a pocket Yeah they want to find a pocket That’s a pocket finding Buzz phrase How about pocket looking Pocket searching Pocket searching I dig it You know what It’s not a phrase but we could make a t-shirt hang right next to the Eric Wagaman t-shirt in the back of the boat 5-3 Marlins in the bottom of the seventh Count is full on Otto Lopez and Ross fires the payoff and Lopez chops one over to third base about a letter high hop to Boom He fires across the diamond and beats Lopez to the first base bag by a step 5-3 put out and there’s one away in the bottom of the seventh So pocket is a really good buzzword in baseball right now The other one I love is a window like finding a window um velocity window right We talked about that right Oh you got a couple pitches that fit in the same window and like 88 to 90 I like finding a window uh for us to fly out it That’s what happened this weekend We found a a window That was good Finding a window One of my least favorite buzz phrases is ground stop which is what we heard on multiple occasions Yeah On Sunday Yeah we’re at a ground stop again I like windows I don’t like ground stops Jesus Sanchez again the pinch hitter seeing Joe Ross first pitch misses high and tight for ball one NZ hitting 253 with six homers and 27 RBI’s during his 52nd game for the Marlins this year 10 pitch going in on Jesus’s hands He pops it foul left side but that drops the turf And that will just be strike one Ross got off the mound quickly and tried sprinting it down in front of the Marlins dugout but couldn’t get there in time Sanchez going to go get new lumber Marlins fans listen to your Marlins on the go Download the iHeart Radio app and make Fox Sports 940 your top preset Listen to every Marlins game this season The other last one for you My last buzz word that I love cover Like how many pitches can you cover So we’re talking about Kyle Sters and like he couldn’t really cover the upstairs fast ball last year and now it’s all about covering pitches So he can cover that one but right now cover both sides of the plate right And now he’s not covering that that low breaking ball on one pitch Sanchez launches out to center field and deep Rojos just looking up Jesus Sanchez a pinch hit bomb There’s your insurance 63 Marlins in the bottom of the seventh 111 off the bat and 415 ft to straight away center field Jesus’s seventh home run on the year Yeah Jesus Sanchez We were waiting for the powered numbers to come Waiting for the home runs And now he’s got three home runs in his last nine games Solo shot for Sanchez Man did he get into that off of Joe Ross And now it’s Eric Wagaman who homerred earlier today Went in for a called strike The Marlins last time they were home had a homerless home stand They did not go yard against San Francisco or against Colorado And here they’ve jumped on Lazardo with a homer from Wags They’ve jumped on Russ as Wagaman sprays it foul right side The count is nothing and two Yeah and that was the first time the Marlins have homered here at home since May 20th Nick Forez Been nearly a month now There had been a very long road trip in there but Sanchez as he made his way through the dugout Swagman rolls one over to second base Scott has got it routine for him Tossed to Kemp in time for out number two He and Yuri Perez embraced and Yuri flashed a huge smile They were jumping up and down Yeah you love to see it for Jesus Sanchez Like we mentioned seventh home run of the year six of his seven home runs 406 ft or further He just crushes baseballs Pitch is poured in for a called strike at 96 to Connor Norby Nothing in one He is a guy that you know will get big swings off a lot and when he connects man is it a sight to be on Yeah Hits the ball so hard with such quick hands One pitch misses outside And I didn’t really appreciate just how big of a dude he was until I got around him in spring training You can’t you can’t experience that on television Just standing next to him I was your shoulders man One-1 That one misses outside Two and one Sanchez A good quick mover for somebody that big too right That’s probably like the best combination you can have where you’re flexible you’re quick you’re twitchy but you’re also just big right To one pitch That went inside out and foul right side and the count is two and two Yeah just a ton of power He knew that was gone too I didn’t know because dead center here is tough but when you look down at Sanchez and he starts to go into his home run stair if you got it you got it And these guys know when they got it 2-2 This is outside It’s a big insurance run for Miami too It was so funny I was just going to ask you you guys feel comfortable with five runs 5-3 going into the later innings I don’t know how comfortable you can be against this lineup but you feel more comfortable with six Stephen 3-2 pitch That one misses outside Ball four Norby draws his second walk today Yeah two two-run lead You get one guy on all of a sudden you’ve got the tying run at the plate No thanks With with a team that can hit home runs And oh by the way in the eighth you got Turner Schwarber Boom Staring you down right It’s not fun Brie feels a heck of a lot better knowing Schwarber can’t tie the game with one swing Exactly Turner’s already homerred in this game Schwarber came close That pitch missed upstairs to Nick Cortez The count one and0 And Turner just loves hitting here Couple home runs in these first two games Not to mention I we talked about the heroics in the World Baseball Classic for Team USA in 2023 What a pitch One missed inside a sinker Two and0 63 Marlins in the bottom of the seventh In all likelihood it’s Anthony Bender for the eighth for the ninth Two a pitch Now I’m going to have called strike fast ball center cut to count two and one He has 10 home runs coming into this game So now 12 home runs here at Lone Depot Park That is the most of any visiting ballpark not including one is fouled back two and two not including teams that he was a home team of So of course you’ve got 53 back when he was with the Nats He’s got 33 at Citizens Spank Park and 16 at Dodger Stadium but again home teams were not counting those Dodger I don’t want to say that Dodger era for Turner was forgettable but he do that was quick Two two is fouled back again It remains where it is I had seen Clayton chatting with him yesterday before the game and that was my reminder I’m like “Oh yeah you were there with the Dodgers for parts of 21 and for 22.” There are a couple of guys about that Yeah right There are a couple whose Dodger tenure just evades my memory That one missed upstairs in the count The other one I forget all the time that Manny Machado was an LA Dodger Me too I forget all the time They do as well Andy Machado after his Baltimore tenure played 66 games in a Dodger uniform Throw over to check on Norby who time was granted to Nick Fortez before a pickoff throw was over there We’re in the bottom of the seventh inning Top of the order do up for Philly Next half and the 3-2 to Fortz on the way That one fouled back and out of play behind the back stop Norby got a head start Marlins have uh I mean flipped the scoreboard with that three-run six and another run here in the seventh Right The hit total was in Philly’s hands pretty much the entirety of the ball game but now the Marlins out hitting the Phillies 9 to6 Cross set again Norby with a head start is 3-2 again There’s a bouncing ball over to short Turner’s got it on the move He throws to first It’s to the inside of the first base bag but Kemp held it and that ends the inning But the solo pinch hit home run from Jesus Sanchez gives the Marlins some breathing room It’s 63 fish as we go to the eighth here on the Marlins Radio Network It’s nothing like when you get that part from eBay The big hits all the great brats You got to be kidding me And all the swagger Relive the day’s biggest plays all in one lightning fast hour Show You better believe it Quick pitch Late nights and early mornings only on MLB Network Let’s see if we can figure out the following baseball slang term Today’s phrase is oppo taco Do you know what it means Ao taco A home run hit to the opposite field with an aerrun game Expand your vocabulary by listening to every game on the MLB app and MLB.com Moments in baseball have been broadcast on the radio since 1921 Smith courts wanted to write down the line It may go crazy folks Go crazy It’s a home run and the Cardinals have won the game by the three-2 and a home run by the Wizards Crazy Catch the next unforgettable call on the MLB app and MLB.com 10 in in a row The Mets are off to a good start in Atlanta Juan Sodto starting to get hot He hit his I don’t see how many home runs it is They didn’t show it but one of many for Juan Sto Uh the Mets lead the Braves one- nothing in the second Love it Thank you Stephen I will uh Plus it just happened I will search and I will see which number homer he just hit But Anthony Bender is into this ball game He sweeps a slider away to Trey Turner to open up the top of the eighth 6-3 Fish got six outs to close out and get a win to even the series against the Phillies One that one lined into center field knuckling on Senoha He backs up and picks it up on one hop The lead off single for Trey Turner here against Bender in the eighth It’s the 14th home run for Juan So 14 I actually want to check the live numbers right now because uh I remember when everybody was saying that deal was terrible Juan Sto as it stands right now has an 858 OPS A really bad deal Kyle Schwarber the hitter now against Anthony Bender And the first pitch and misses outside for ball one Bender sporting a 254 ERA this year This is his 30th appearance 28 in the third innings Opponents hitting a buck 92 against him And the two to Schwber 10 pardon Schwarber missed low So the count now 2 and 0 Bender did struggle in Washington in one of his appearances but Clayton McCulla identified Bender as one of the guys that you know he feels is all-star caliber for the fish this year to a pitch Schwarber lines into right field That’s hanging up for Sanchez He makes the catch and he fires a fast ball into first base It is late Turner back in standing up but that liner to right hung up just long enough for Sanchez to get to And that is out number one That hit hard and exit below of 115 miles per hour Goodness We were just talking about Sanche and how hard he hit space balls My goodness Kyle Shoreberg Stings another one Now Alec Bow and the first pitch from Bender to Bow spins off the inside edge and we count one and0 Anthony Bender is such a mismatch in right on right matchups but lefties see him a little bit better pitch check swing and uh Bow did not go around Uh yes he did actually Was a would have been a called strike anyways I think they actually did score that a called strike Yeah Opponent average against lefties 222 coming into this game opposed to one is a called strike again One and two Good sweeper in comparison to 155 against right-handed hitters So you feel good although it was hard hit that Schwarber was an out right from the left side One and two on Bone with Turner at first The pitch sweeper Bone laid off Thought about it though Did think about it Chopped his feet in the batters box laying off Top of the eighth inning one away Speedy Turner at first The Marlins up six to three Two two from Bender having a bouncing ball up the middle X has it The second baseman goes to first for the Surefire out He gets B four to three Turner with a head first dive went into second There is a runner in scoring position but there are two men gone here in the eighth off the bat I thought that was going to take Edwards right to the second base I did too I think it just it was a little bit slow moving X charging really hard Made the right play Knew he was going to turn around and get the lead runner behind him Max Kepler hitting right fielder ready for the first pitch and he takes a sinker upstairs at 96 We had a moment over the road trip and it’s all blurring together to me Were someone where the ball ricocheted over on someone’s glove straight to auto at second base Remember that And they turned two I think that was in Pittsburgh Was it Washington Was it Pittsburgh Might have been Pittsburgh Kepler golfs one out to right field That’s hanging up for Sanchez Jesus Sanchez on the edge of the warning tracks back and makes the catch Another hard hit liner from a lefty bat but Anthony Bender works around take a hack at guessing which baseball player or manager said the following I really don’t know what to say I’m just uh so happy I gave something These people cheer We all did I mean it was a great game Both teams played incredible It was a great game That’s Mike Piaza after he hit an eighth inning go-ahad home run in the first New York Mets home game after 911 Hear moments like this and more on the MLB app and MLB.com Let’s see if you can figure out the following baseball slang term Today’s phrase is oppo taco Do you know what it means Oppo of this four game set Steven Trump Jack Mcronone Kelly Sacko Forget the NLE scoreboard update How about the first ever Stanley Cup Florida Panthers update Sam Reinhardt just opened up the scoring The Panthers have a one- nothing lead early on in game six How about that Sam Reinhardt He might be my favorite player now He’s got eight goals in the playoffs Wow Eight goals in the playoffs Yeah that’s impressive How many goals have been scored by the Panthers Sorry I’m pretty close I don’t I am That was my bad The bottom of the eighth inning Kyle Sters takes low from the new arm Michael Marcato 26-year-old from Greenville South Carolina with 13 innings for the Phillies last year This is his second appearance with the Bills this year Bottom eight Marlins up six to three A good spinning curveball at the shins is cut on a miss by Sters One and one Sam Reinhardt the goal scorer I know uh what all these all these Marlins were warming up wearing different Panther jerseys I saw some uh Kachchuck jerseys I saw some Barov jerseys One pitch check swing and that one redirected back to the screen One and two And uh who’s the goalie Babski Yep Yeah I saw a couple of guys wearing a Babski jersey Bob I was going to ask uh Clayton why he chose his Kachchuck jersey and if they had a choice or if they were just distributed One-two pitch That one sprayed into left center field That gets in for a base hit Marsh ranging to cut it off on one hop and he fires it back in Sters might have been staring down a double but he’s held to a leadoff single here in the home half of the eighth I have an answer on the playoff goals Yes I’m sorry but tell me Holy buckets 89 goals and that’s not counting tonight So that’s 90 goals combined combined 90 total goals to 55 they’ve given up Whoa Okay So how many total for the I don’t do the math for the Panthers For the Panthers 90 They have scored 90 That one misses outside for ball one So they’ve scored 90 Now granted like half the league makes the playoffs in hockey Like it’s it’s just different than Major League Baseball but 90 to 55 That’s crazy Wow Mono pitch Senoha pops it back in foul behind the back stop and out of play One and one So he’s got eight of the 90 I think that’s a decent percentage though cuz like there are four lines Like they’ve scored six goals in 1 2 3 4 5 six playoff games They’ve scored five in six playoff games I just I just see like the Zack Alfanakis meme from from the hangover with all the numbers happening right now 90 goals What I No that was an aggressive what One-1 pitch A bouncing ball through the left side of the infield for a base hit That rolls to Marsh And there are runners at first and second With nobody out here the Marlins looking to add on to their three-run advantage You always get on me for count with my fingers That’s number one No I got on you maybe once Maybe once But I’m I’m insecure about my match I’m laughing because it took until game six of the Stanley Cup final to appreciate just how good dominant Yeah It’s like maybe the last game the year 90 goal It’d been awesome I should watch more of that Well it might be over tonight Oh Oh Oh never mind Yeah Yeah And then you’re going to remind me in October I’m going say “Yeah you know what I’m in Let’s do it.” lineup guard flips back to the top Xavier Edwards for the fifth time tonight He’s two for four And the first pitch X squaring to bunt He gets it down Marcato picks it up He fires to first but that’s late He looked at third There was no one on the bag to get the lead man And Marcato too late decided to fire to first base And the speedy X legs out a single Ah it’s a threeh hit night for Xavier Edwards A really good idea I love when X uses his legs Just one of his better tools He catch the Phillies sleeping and uh now they’ve got bases loaded No outs Pristine opportunity to tack on some more Michael Marcado in his second appearance this year seeing Augustine Ramirez with the bases loaded 6-3 Marlins in the bottom of the eighth And the pitch Augustine swinging away fouls it back I’m going to give you a real good inside look at what’s going on in the booth right now I’m preparing for my walk-off interval And I was looking up Xavier Edwards numbers since he’s gotten back from the IIL He is 21 of 51 Wow It’s a 411 BA One pitch miss is low and away That was also his fourth game of three hits or more I forgot he had a five hit game to start this month his first start coming off because he came in a pinch hit situation then started 1-1 that a line shot up the middle and through for a base hit One insurance run comes in to score and that’ll be all Everybody up 90 ft Augustine Ramirez stings a ball up the gut 73 Marlins on an 111 mph single up the middle from Augustine Yeah he crushed that curve ball Take it right back up the middle Love to see the Marlins just continuing to on run You know it it happened late but we’ve been looking for that game that just looks good start to finish And this is what the Fish are putting together right now Otto smacks one into left field Marsh working back He makes the catch That is deep enough Senoha tags He scores from third base and it’s 83 Marlins in the bottom of the eighth Yeah and like we talked about before we said “Hey Dane Meyers he’s been so hot especially as of late out tonight with the discomfort in the elbow Thank goodness that the X-rays did come up negative.” Said “Hey I want to see just everybody up and down the lineup just contributing.” And that’s what we’ve seen tonight Absolutely seen that from leadoff man Xavier Edwards in his three hit day to a multi-hit day in the nine hole for Javier Senoha to a pinch hit home run from this guy Jesus Sanchez last time the first pitch is a curveball that spins outside for ball one yeah first career triple for Java which gave the Marlins the go-ahad run there in the sixth inning Sanchez with a big home run his ninth of the year pitch misses way inside at 97 And a little shriek from Sanchez as he jumped out of the way Was hipbounded 12-2 now 2 and0 We’re in the bottom of the eighth inning It’s 83 Fish over the Phils And the 200 pitch just takes upstairs at 97 counts 3 and 0 set and the 3 0 I’m going to call it strike 98 right over the heart of the plate Michael Marcato was built up as a starting pitcher through his minor league career but working out of the bullpen in the big leagues dialing it up a couple of notches 3-1 swinging away He practic foul left side and that’ll get into the seats out of play That runs full and you’ve got a fan in a uh a Bryce Harper jersey carrying maybe a six-month-old baby in his arms sprinting along the concourse to grab that foul ball and he got it It’s all about maintaining your balance though There are things much more important than that souvenir in your left hand But I love seeing those great catchers just throughout the year You always see a couple of them the fans in the stands they have a kid in one hand they make the catch in the other Yeah there was one a couple years ago It was kid in one arm beer in the other hand He dropped the beer caught the ball Oh goodness Is Sanchez got something in his eye So uh here comes Brad Larosa to uh give him some eye drops here He saw the umpire yesterday with something in his eye Brad’s been busy Brad’s been busy Brad put in your work Look at you guys We’re on the same page here We couldn’t get the uh letter grade for Sandy right But we got Brad’s busy You threw me off when you said “Hey remember remember the season?” I I remember I’ve been here 3-2 pitch to Sanchez after the eye drops He is cut on and missed 98 upstairs and Sanchez extended his zone about neck high He swung underneath that There are two men gone at first and second for Eric Wagaman You think one of these days I should wear that shirt when I have an interview with Eric Wagaman after a win I think so First pitch Wagaman fouls it back That was a good find by Kyle during the offseason right It really was I remember listening to that podcast I was I was cleaning the house listening to this podcast So I was like how on earth did he unearth this I Yeah I was like how did you get to this Kyle One pitchman takes a called strike on the outer edge Nothing too So you know I typically search Google and then maybe search Twitter for news on guys but I think the next search should probably be like Amazon or something Apparently eBay So yeah Google Twitter eBay 02 pitch One misses upstairs Offensive barrage for the Fish Eight runs on 13 hits Yeah So this will be the fourth time in five games double digit hits for the Marlins One two Magan fouls it back That was a cutter scares And the the last time the Marlins have had a win by more than three runs is May 24th Wow Wow And they play a lot of close games May 24th Wow One two Wagman fouls That one straight down It was a hard curveball at 85 That’s north of three weeks ago if I have my math right I do Three and a half weeks ago One two Wagaman swings and misses 97 mph fast climb the ladder and Wagaman has the same fate as Sanchez But the Marlins tack on two more insurance runs on an RBI single from Ramirez at a It’s a great night for baseball This matchup features some of the best talent in the game A lot of power a lot of marquee names Here we go Buckle up folks There’s a guy who wants to be in the spotlight The bats have come alive We’re just playing Powerball This place doesn’t know what these teams are entertaining The show continues Experience gametoame coverage of the night’s biggest moments live and commercial free MLB Network Strike Zone Wednesday and Friday nights all season take a hack at guessing which baseball player or managers type of follow I really don’t know what to say I’m just uh so happy I gave something These people cheer We all did I mean it was a great game Both teams played incredible It was a great game That’s Mike Piaza after he hit an eighth inning go-ahad home run in the first New York Mets home game after 911 Hear moments like this and more on the MLB app and MLB.com Great moments in baseball have been broadcast on the radio since 1921 Smith courts went into right down the line It may go crazy folks Go crazy It’s a home run and the Cardinals have won the game by the score of three to two and a home run by the Wizards Catch the next unforgettable call on the MLB app and MLB.com of the ball game 29year-old from Chula Vista California Former UC Irvine anter making his 29th appearance on the year for the Marlins He’s got a 3.96 erra in 25 innings punched out 23 and walked 11 And for Calvin this is not a safe situation with the Marlins up 8-3 No but he’s been very good as of late in his last eight games Hasn’t allowed a run through seven innings pitch in just the one walk Calvin seeing a former Marlin and JT Romito in the first pitch Romo rips on the ground through the vacated right side of the infield for a base hit Infield was shifting him to pull and Riomito shot one the other way So that’s a leadoff single here to open the top of the ninth with Phillies down by five off at 106 miles an hour Calvin Foscher was due for some work and it’s weird to say but the Marlins bullpen was taxed on that road trip He hadn’t thrown in a couple of days First pitch to Bryson Scott here a 96 mph sinker that is on the outer edge for strike Nothing in one Marlins try to tie a bow on this win and you know too early to call it right now but you know this just seems like one of the more complete efforts from the Marlins in the last couple of weeks a one pitch is fouled straight down and the count two absolutely 13 hits on the night three different Marlins with multiple hit efforts but even guys who only collected one hit tonight finding other ways to contribute look at Wagaman he hit the home run just the one hit on the night but he did draw walk and scored Connor Norby he had a hit stole a base drew a couple walks and scored The sack fly from Lopez Lot of people stepped up tonight And Scott rips one out to center field Senoha on the run Javier Senoha slides to his backand to make a nice catch That was a liner that just kept on climbing on Senoha but Javi making a great play as a center fielder or there’s one away and Javi really needed a game like this and you’re starting to see the frustrations mount listen what what Javi has been doing and has been asked to do in the role as a utility guy it is a hard thing to do not to play every day and when you do get your chances it’s in all different types of positions and you could see him starting to get frustrated at the plate especially first pitch here to Otto Kemp is cut on and missed I think a game like this it’s going to be good for for Jav first career career triple Got the RBI to get the Marlins a go-ahead run A nice play out there in center field One pitch That one misses low and away A ball in a strike Senohop This feels like the makings of a possible get right game You’re looking for something similar for Connor Norby and a couple of walks can do that for him He’s one for two but has walked twice That chin on one pitch misses low and away There was a sweeper two balls at the strike When Kyle Sters collected a a hit and scored a run there in the eighth got the got the rally going Got the positive vibes against a left-hander and Jesus Lazardo carry into tomorrow Ranger Suarez gets the ball for the Phillies Two-1 pitch misses inside Three balls in the strike Opposing Ranger Suarez Greg Mish reported that it will likely be out of measure tomorrow and his Marlin’s debut 3-1 is a called strike at the top of the zone A cutter and the count runs full on Otto Kent One away Top of the ninth Marlins up by five Eight to three And payoff The ground ball over to second base X has got it He looks at second but he throws to first for out number two So Rio Muto pushes to second but there are two men gone The Marlins in out away from a W and Bosch seeing Brandon Marsh Correct me if I’m wrong but if if this is the case you heard the bell Yes Don’t the Phillies usually ring that when they’ve got two outs right before uh Oh maybe the Liberty bell right before they That would be a good play That would be a good play if if that’s what happened just now Props Credit to the crew Credit to the crew Pitch misses high and tight on Brandon Marsh The count one and0 Marsh so far today one for three with a double and a run scored And the one pitch is fouled straight down A sinker at 96 Boscher Typically we see a heavy diet of breaking stuff but he’s gone fast ball for the most part today Sinker and forcing sees a whole or throws a whole bunch of pitches He’s kind of flavor of the night whenever he comes in 1-1 swings and
