say the same thing every damn day and I have been in some form or fashion going on nine season like what are we doing here we’re growing up together and we’ve seen so many iterations of this organization from really bad to peaks of really good to everything in between and you know failures down the stretch of each of the last three or four seasons so this is a series that I’ve wanted to do and I didn’t really know exactly how to do it um or how to package it and I think what I’m going to be doing here it’s what’s good enough for 2025 and I’m going to pick out a specific player okay on offense and then on defense I think I’m going to go by group i think it’s just better highlighting one specific defensive player when you’re a cog of a bigger machine and you know defense is based on you know trust and instinct so it’s a lot less rigid than offense calling 50 plus times you know 50 plus plays a game so offense Kyler Murray Marvin Harrison Jr Trey McBride maybe James Connor i think the James Connor one’s interesting because I might do an honorable mention show with like four or five people in one show instead of doing them all but I think highlighting the three most important players on offense outside of the offensive line Kyler Murray J uh uh Marvin Harrison Jr and Trey McBride that’s where we’re going to start and we’ll grow this together okay um first segment is going to be what’s good enough for 2025 and I’ll you know what’s not good enough for 2025 and the second segment and what I think is going to happen in the third i think this is going to be fun it’s going to be a fun exercise as we kind of are on this rainbow bridge of this is not where football is happening yet and we need to find really important things to talk about without any new information between now and when you know real camp starts in a handful of weeks so this is going to be part of that gap gap bridging I guess you could say what’s good enough for Kyler Murray in 2025 okay let’s door the explorer this so what I think for Kyler as it’s never really been about numbers for me it’s been about impact he’s not going to have Joe Burrow numbers he’s not going to have Josh Allen or Lamar Jackson numbers and he doesn’t really have to but in 2025 what I see a good enough year for him is definitely unequivocally winning more games for the team than he loses and last year we saw both sides like we’ve seen both sides of ever since he’s coming to the league in 2019 obviously on different you know uh different rungs of the ladder because you know he’s gotten better the teams have been better teams are bad you know whatever it is for me for Kyler Murray what good enough in is 2025 is not just 10 plus wins it’s being a trusted entity at the end of important games to go down and get points and most importantly like something we haven’t seen before if the like we haven’t seen as much of I want to see a lot more victory formation in 2025 one of the things that we’ve been missing period is you’re up four or you’re up two two-minute drill the other team has three timeouts two first downs and you win we don’t see the second first down a lot of times we don’t see the first first down so what’s good enough for me is really solidifying himself as a trusted quarterback to salt away games and we saw come from behind wins last year okay we saw four marchdowns field the majority of them were field goals for wins but we saw it and we’ve seen it it’s not like it’s like this you know this figment of everyone’s imagination but down the stretch last month last six eight weeks of the season that’s where we need to see it that’s where good enough is going to be and obviously that’s where the wins will come and you’ll get over 10 and we’ll be having a different conversation as maybe they’re hosting a playoff game in the second round you know whatever it is that’s good enough now you noticed I didn’t talk about running the ball i didn’t talk about yardage i didn’t talk about anything like that to put that into kind of comparison for what I expect or what I think good enough should be and we’re not talking about perfect perfect we’re not talking about in a vacuum 17 and0 he’s got 4,500 yards,000 yards on the ground 40 total touchdowns no obviously that’s what you’d want you’d want the best of all worlds but what’s good enough what’s good enough to say you know what run it back 2026 let’s talk about a restructuring and an extension for another three years to shorten you know to to to soften the cap hit for 2026 maybe bring on some more players things like that what’s good enough to where it’s like yep oh they they won a playoff game but then they got blown out in the second round is that good enough i think so but getting there what needs to happen for them to get there what needs to be good enough for them to get there numbers-wise for me it’s taking more chances okay Kyler Murray was I think it was his second year i think it was 2020 he was the most sacked quarterback in the NFL it was him and Russell Wilson upwards of 56 i think the number was 48 it’s just I have things in my head i think they’re right mckenna get out of that for me but it’s because he didn’t want to throw the ball he didn’t want to throw he didn’t want to throw challenged passes to give his o to give the wide receiver an opportunity to go get it we’ve seen bad throws from him like Hail Mary throws in a triple coverage one was against Marv last year can’t remember the game it was they got intercepted it’s like that’s not what I’m talking about i’m talking about understanding and trusting your ability as a ball thrower to be able to put the football in just the vicinity of two of the better ball catchers in the NFL and Marvin Harris Jr and and Trey McBride and let them go do what they do there’s that gap that needs to be bridged there too because Kyler Murray can be special we’ve seen it time and time again when Kyler Murray is doing special things not seven quarterbacks can do what he does in the NFL now they’re fleeting we don’t see them as much as we would like when he’s on the field but that’s the frustration when it comes to Kyler Murray it’s like dude we’ve seen it we’ve seen you be special we’ve seen allp pro level we’ve seen MVP level and I’ll tell you what Trevor Lawrence on his best day isn’t at MVP level okay there are so many quarterbacks on their best day that are not MVP level we’ve seen that from Kyler we’ve seen it a lot over the last handful of years but the other side the other coin that we’ve seen is bottom 10 quarterback it doesn’t make any sense so in summation what’s good enough for Kyler Murray in 2025 the last two months of the season be as good in the last two months as you are in the first handful of months that’s really what it comes down to that’s really what it comes down to the yardage the numbers I don’t really care like you want to throw in score more touchdowns and field goals like the Cardinals scored a slew of games on their first time first first score touchdown and then towards the end it was field goals winning teams score touchdowns in touchdown scoring situations losing teams kick field goals because they can’t find a way to get in the end zone so it’s a little bit more abstract for him because he can’t run the ball he can’t throw the ball he’s been all prolevel on the field which is you can’t say for 10 quarterbacks but the other side is it’s just not good enough it’s just not good enough so what is good enough to run it back in 2026 the floor needs to raise a bunch i don’t care about the ceiling feel like that’s a fool’s it’s like the flashy stuff that’s great convert on third and eight when the other team has no timeouts and you’re up one in your own territory so you can get a victory formation that’s what’s going to be good enough in 2025 what’s going to what’s not going to be good enough i’ll discuss the next locked on Cardinals your was the one that was like “Oh man you know Blacklist has 25 episodes for nine seasons i’m stoked i can watch the show forever.” And now I’m like “Give me six episodes baby i’m out give it to me give me Loopin give me that one with Robert Dairo it’s like six episodes it’s like hell yeah in and out bro.” And that’s what this miniseries is that I present to you it’s going to be under 10 episodes um Blacklist fantastic show by the way just Red Readington just incredible a million episodes and the antithesis of the positive of a miniseries but I digress so what will not be good enough for Kyler Murray let’s do the easy stuff first if we see the same rinse and repeat copy from what we’ve seen during the second half of all of the seasons that’s not good enough even if so like this is the tricky part this is the tricky part say they because they very well can there is a juiced up part of their early schedule where they can start six and one or seven and one they 100% can say they you know start six and one seven and one and they end up with 10 wins that’s the tricky part because that means obviously down the stretch they weren’t winning as many games as they were early on all of this gets thrown in the trash bin if there’s any sort of major injury you know you have to adjust and have conversations obviously don’t wish that upon anybody um but if they are front heavy again and then back into a playoff spot again no not good enough lest we forget 7-0 and 10 and two in 2021 they had a three-game lead down the stretch in the NFC West and didn’t win the division not all 10 win seasons not all 11 win seasons are created equal especially in a 17 game slate it’s go time it’s go time what’s not good enough exactly what we’ve seen i think that’s obvious that’s on the table what also is not good enough this is a full offense part a full offense bullet point if the defense is still exponentially more efficient and reliable than the offense i know there’s a bunch of different players i know the offensive line didn’t really get an upgrade i know you know there’s We’ll see if Marv takes that second year which I expect him to do check that out for the next episode what’s good enough what’s not good enough of Marvin Harrison Jr um we expect Trey McBride to emerge like I very much expect Greg Dorsch Michael Wilson and Xavier Weaver um Quz Watkins i don’t know if he’s going to get in in the mix if he’s going to make the he’s going to make the team isa Jones like I fully expect everything to get better and I fully expect part a different looking offense because the defense can hold its weight times a million compared to what we expected from them last year so I expect things to be different and this isn’t saying that the offense needs to be better than the defense this doesn’t mean that the offense needs to be the reason why the team win games because that defense is real deal Holyfield now okay but there can’t be a world in 2025 where overwhelmingly the defense is the reason why the Cardinals are staying in games that can’t be the case cuz I’ll tell you what the uncomfortable conversation again I don’t think we’re going to have burying the lead in the final segment but I don’t think we’re going to have this conversation but this roster is ready made for any quarterback okay so if Kyler Murray doesn’t work there will be a laundry list of players who could come in and potentially do a better job okay i don’t think that’s going to get to the it’s going to get to that point if he doesn’t pan if he doesn’t do what is expected of him this year i don’t think we’re going to have to have that conversation still personally I don’t but if the defense is overwhelmingly the anchor of this team yeah that’s a problem that’s going to be a problem that’s not going to be good enough i don’t care how many games they win that’s the tricky part that’s the tricky part say they win 12 games and the offense stays the same as last year and the defense defense exponentially gets better which they will regardless but the offense needs to level up more than just you know what we saw in Carolina with the season on the line was regurgitatable i don’t know makes you want to throw up regurgitatable look it up don’t because it’s not real it’s not real you can’t like I don’t care on the road carolina you can’t get a dub in Carolina you get embarrassed in Carolina i know it went to overtime there it shouldn’t have been that close it was an embarrassment that can never happen that can’t happen and I hold Kyler Murray accountable for that now the last thing and this is touchy okay this is the trickiest part of it all this is the trickiest part of it all what if he gets hurt again my disclaimer I’ve said it more recently but um I don’t wish even the best player on the planet to get hurt let alone anybody on the Arizona Cardinals but it’s part of the game if Carl Marie were to get hurt knock on wood what does that mean say he misses six weeks what does that mean does it matter unless he’s playing at an allp pro level before and after his injury or is that sign enough to be like okay it’s just not good enough i don’t know i don’t know that answer but I think it’s something that’s touchy because if that jumps in there he played you know he took the biggest hit of his life against the Jets last year got up chuckled and was ready to rip okay so that was one of the biggest hits we’ve seen in the NFL in a long time he just got up and he was cool i think sometimes it just takes a player a while to learn what body parts to work out most to be able to protect your joints and your tendons in an effort to not get hurt obviously there’s luck involved too um but if he gets hurt and misses a month and he plays well but they win 10 games and maybe they’re out in the first round of the place is that good enough i don’t know i don’t know obviously you don’t wish that again upon anybody what’s my prediction what do I think will happen in 2025 for Kyler Murray i’ll discuss it next on Cardinals your team every day this is fun dude seriously the blacklist is excellent excellent um it’s unrewatchable because there are 7,000 episodes um okay what do I think is going to happen in 2025 what I know will happen is Kyler Murray will have the best setup to succeed that he has had in seven years that’s just factual okay i don’t care how topheavy this team was at times the innards the guts of this roster was never good 1 to 53 it was never good it was average there was topheavy but that’s it okay this is the best 1 to 53 1 to 22 starters that Kyler Murray’s coming into contact with by far by far my prediction is he will raise his floor and be better a lot more than he has been better he’ll be a B quarterback than he has more than he has in years past which is really really strong we’ve seen A++ a thousand out of 100 and we’ve seen 10 out of 100 in key situations okay i think we are going to see much less valleys than we have since 2019 and I think that’s a massive step forward what does that look like in numbers i don’t know it doesn’t really m like I don’t care you’re going to get Kyler to have the 350 all-purpose yards a couple times a year four touchdowns he’s going to blow the roof off we’re going to see it it doesn’t really matter who the opponent is it just happens okay but I also think we’re not going to get as many 17 for 23 for 146 yards a touchdown and an interception next year i just don’t think it’s gonna happen i think the evolution of the offense I think him running the ball more i think him being incredibly comfortable trusting the defense to be able to get stops and do their part in an effort for him and Drew Petting to evolve together as play callers to make this offense as efficient as possible i think this offense is going to be exponentially better than it was last year and by exponentially better I mean much more efficient just like Kyler Murray will be much more efficient efficiency the reason why I shy away from numbers is Kyler’s efficient when it’s throwing he’s not 17 for 40 ever ever but that doesn’t really paint the whole picture like I think the growth that we’re going to see from Kyler Murray is they’re going to be they’re going to be um converting many more drives into touchdowns than field goals in the last two months of the season that’s the barometer check that’s what it’s going to be when winning time comes can Kyler Murray win a ball game on the road in inclement weather when you got to have it he’s done it his whole life okay yeah it’s been bad the last handful of years in the second half of the season it it has i mean except for 2023 when he came back midway through and they went on that little run which was awesome i don’t think Kyler Murray is going to be somebody to worry about at the end of 2025 i just don’t I just don’t um the confirmation bias for Kyler Murray haters is exorbitant you can pick out a bunch of things um as to why he may not be the guy still picking the Rams game in the playoffs four years ago now it’s kind of lazy but people will pick what they want um I think Kyler’s gonna be great i think he’s gonna be a Pro Bowler um I think this is something that just like who I will be talking about on Friday Friday Marvin Harrison Jr this past year was a massive wakeup call and it doesn’t matter that he’s been in the league for a handful of years already in Kyler it’s been a massive wakeup call because he’s never been the real reason why the Cardinals haven’t succeeded there’s always been other things on top of that if they don’t win in 2025 it’s on him and he knows it lockdown Cardinals your team every day what’s good enough for Marvin Harrison Jr in 2025 i’ll discuss it on Friday remember without you there is no me i’ll talk to you then

  1. It’s not an athletic thing or a talent thing a skill thing. It’s a head thing and that can be managed and improved with team, play calling and coaching

  2. The point about not being willing to throw high risk passes to McBride and Harrison – crazy wrong. I maintain that the rosters and staff of the Cardinals during Kyler's years have been sub-par with him elevating the team to 8-8 then 11-6 in '20 and '21. When the Cards have a deep enough roster and a solid staff, you'll see what we saw through 7-1 in '21. This staff looks solid, but they are all first time in their roles and they admit that they're learning on the job. Kyler is trusting them. I think Petzing is the one who has to make a leap this season. We're hearing hints of advancing the offense. We'll see the reality.

The Panthers hung 36 on the Cards with 243 yards rushing. Yes. That was the defense.

Wtf are you talking about with Kyler learning what body parts to work out and protect? He had a hammie escaping a tackle in the 2nd to last play of that Packers game then an ACL. That's it. That's the full list of injuries in 6 seasons. Protect against an ACL tear?

"If the Cards don't win in '25, it'll be on Kyler and he knows it." What? You absolve everyone and everything else in advance? This, my friend, is the problem.

I'll repeat this question: Which QB stat line is this in '23 and '24? 27 TDs – 14 INTs, 26 TDs, 11 INTs.

  3. Tbh, it feels like the issue at the end of the season is health of the Offensive Line. When they lost to the Rams in LA, they were playing 3 reserves on the OLine. Do they have the talented depth to handle injuries? Kyler was running for his life in the Rams game, as Fiske, Verse, & Turner were blowing up the line over and over.
