For the record that was more-or-less the plan that was already assumed, and the second opinion Ragans was getting was to confirm with another doctor what the best path to recovery is. It was *not* to check if the injury was more (or less) severe like many assumed, they already knew what the damage was.
In any case it’s a catastrophe averted and also solves the debate on what to do with Lorenzen and Cameron.

Perfect example why you don’t deal major league starting pitchers if you’re contending for the playoffs.
Just shut him down for the year at this point. Our starting pitching will be fine we will need him more next year and beyond.
