WILL DRAFTING SIMASHEV AND BUT GET GM BILL ARMSTRONG FIRED IN UTAH? nhl #draft #utah #mammoth #khl

at the 2023 NHL entry draft then Arizona Coyotes now Utah Mammoth general manager Bill Armstrong shocked the hockey world by drafting two relative unknowns in the first round two years later those players have signed their entrylevel contract with the Mammoth and are ready to try to crack the big club lineup today we’re asking the big question are Dimmitri Semichev and Denil Boot worth the wait hey everybody welcome in to Clearing the Benches onestop shop for hockey content if you go ahead and hit your subscription button right now you’ll be sure to be in on all of our future videos well that day general manager Bill Armstrong shocked the hockey world at number six he took Dimmitri Semishev he was a relative unknown people had heard his name but nobody really knew anything about him 6’5 200 lb left D they say he is an excellent skater he played in the KHL this year in my opinion that is the equivalent uh skill-wise to the AHL in 56 games he had one goal and five of six for six points they said it was because he was the six defenseman my big question is if he’s so good how come he is the six defenseman then at number 12 they took Denil boot 66 215 lb forward high skills big- time quick shot release played in 109 KHL games this year and last year he had 19 goals 30 assists for 49 points not exactly record-breaking numbers now let’s look at all the guys that Armstrong passed on that day zack Benson he’s playing on a very bad Buffalo Sabres team but he’s got 58 points in just 146 games there ryan Leonard I thought this would have been a match made in heaven for Armstrong he’s very physical forward likes to get to the front of the net and inside the circles and he made his debut this year with the Washington Capitals he is as advertised next up another guy for sure I thought that Armstrong would have taken Axel Sandine Pelica this year playing in the Swedish Pro League the SHL he had 47 points in 85 games on the back end then they passed on Matt Bay Mechov now I think Meechov may have pulled a Yarmmy or Jogger jogger back in the day told a lot of teams “Don’t draft me.” And then he told the Penguins “Draft me i want to play with Mario Lemieux.” Word is that Meechov may have put a little stink on himself telling teams that and then he told the Flyers “Go ahead and take me.” Mechov had 63 points this year in his rookie year i would be shocked to see if Boot put up more points than that next up Nate Danielson and he had 39 points this year playing in Grand Rapids of the AHL 200T player this guy is going to be a shutdown player in the NHL braden Joerger 6′ 175 lbs this year he played in juniors he had 82 points this season oliver Bon was taken by the Flyers 6’2 180 lb defenseman he’s got the NHL pedigree his father played in the pros this year in London he had 40 points in just 52 games i think that’s going to be a name that you see a lot of in the future tanner Mullandike this guy probably the most smooth skater in that draft uh this guy is very very very good skater 77 points this season playing for Saskatoon and Medicine Head another bigbodied name i thought for sure this guy’s going to go at 12 and nope they passed on him calem Richie who just got traded to the Islanders in the Brock Nelson deal and this year Caleum Richie put up 70 points in just 47 OHL games eastston Cowan he scored in 36 straight games and they say he is the next Doug Gilmore i see it when I watched the Memorial Cup he sticks out in a big way and in a good way and he’s a smaller player but he is a little pocketk knife does it all next up another little smaller player but the guy’s just got a engine that never stops gavin Brinley this year he played for Cleveland in the AHL and for a smallbodied guy he put up 24 points in just 52 games very very pesky i am surprised that uh that Armstrong passed on him not in the first round but you know early in the second round then you have Casper Holton and huge body 6’4 205 lbs he had four points in just six games playing for the San Jose Barracuda in the AHL this year dalabir D’Vorski he made his NHL debut this year playing for the St louis Blues and he is a rockolid 200 foot player and a high IQ guy i thought for sure that the Coyotes uh/Mammoth would have taken a better look at him and then you’ve got another guy and you see Gabe Perau made his NHL debut this year with the New York Rangers sniper sniper sniper i can’t even imagine what he would have been capable of if you put him up there with Gunther and Keller and and now Josh Don um I just see a guy that for me he’s going to probably be a 40goal scorer in the NHL and I was shocked to see Arizona now Utah pass on him and then the last guy that they passed on Andrew Crystalall this year he played for Spokane 72 points in 29 games those are crazy numbers and yet you know you see a guy like um Armstrong he loves analytics he loves to see guys with you know some size and some scoring and I know uh Andrew Crystalall went you know fairly lower than people had anticipated but for sure he is putting up the big time numbers so this year you know when training camp rolls around I’m going to be very curious to see how these two players play and then I’m gonna be really curious to see if they are able to make the big club or if they’re going to be playing down in Tucson in the AHL this season this has been a long wait for two players that you went way out on a limb to draft and again there’s not a whole lot out there on them so when we see them this year it’s basically going to be like we’re just taking the wrapping paper off them for the first time so that’s going to do it for today’s video let me know what you think about Dimmitri Seamish and Denil Boot where you would have drafted them what do you think of where they were drafted if you could please don’t forget hit your like button don’t forget to subscribe and as we always do here at Clearing the Benches let them know you’re out there

  1. Supposedly, the reason these guys didn't play a lot in the KHL is because the teams history of limiting players that are commited to not staying. That has been the word around the camp fire all season in Utah. Guess we will find out
