all right just about set to go and on the hill the big righty Sandy Alcantara but Chris he hasn’t exactly been stellar here on his home mound well I’ll say this every player wants to perform well at their home ballpark in front of their fans in front of the city and you know this guy no different he wants to be more effective here so you know you look at the numbers they haven’t been great at home i’m sure he wants to turn that around and we’ll see if he’s able to start that in this one here’s Trey Turner outside low and this one is off and running line drive and lines out to third and time now for the Phillies lineup and Chris this group has been struggling to put up runs lately well they haven’t been on base a ton and even when they are they haven’t been hitting very well with runners on base so they need a player or two to really step up have some quality at bats hit according to the situation and sort of break out of this i think if they do the rest of this lineup will follow swinging a foul straight back [Music] one down base is empty and there’s a foul ball a change up missing and it’s one and two stays alive and strikes out oh that’s almost just not fair with that pitch i mean until the very last second looked like it was going to be well in off the plate but the armside run brought it right back to catch the inside corner tell you what frustrating as a hitter you give up on the pitch i honestly don’t know what you’re supposed to do with that as a hitter other than just tip your cap as you walk back to the dugout alec B in the box with two gone and takes a look at a called strike grow ball right side edwards sends it to first and the Phillies are set down in order phillies go down quietly in the inning and now the Marlins will have a crack at things no score major League Baseball is on the show back here at Lone Depot Park and on the hill for the Phillies Mick Ael singing he’s kind of a road warrior yeah I definitely say so you know some guys shrink a little bit on the road they’re so used to just you know having the comforts of being at home and having the fans behind them but this guy seems to thrive in adversity and being in some hostile environment so when you have a player like this on your team that goes out there and competes you definitely like your chances away from your home ballpark lifted in the air down the left side that one gets down for a hit man aboard on the leadoff single and up next for Miami Jesus Sanchez that misses the zone ball one counts one and0 ruer at first with no outs here [Music] that’s ball two [Music] now three and 0 there’s the strike [Applause] headed towards the corner and it stays fair headed for the plate he’s safe and it’s one nothing well that’s a lonely feeling for an outfielder the read wasn’t great and it really hurts when it cost your team a run runner in scoring position no outs lopez the next to hit good defender he’s been inconsistent offensively check swing no appeal singi maybe some nerves getting the best of him in the first well it’s hard to know exactly if it’s nerves or not but he just doesn’t have it right now those hitters on the other side they’re going to say it’s nerves and use that as a competitive edge to try to jump on him even more next pitch is outside and he can’t come up with it and now runners at the corners nobody out takes it himself quick recovery from the misplay pays off for the out and time now for the Marlins lineup this is a good offense Chris you’re going to get quality at bats and balls put in play consistently with this group and it doesn’t really matter who they’re facing on the mound they have the ability to go out and compete and win ball games um if it’s an all-star or Sai Young award winner to just a rookie up in the big leagues so when you have that you have a chance to win every night if I was a pitcher on this team I’d feel pretty good about taking them out for him augustine Ramirez stands in here takes ball one low [Music] that one a little bit high now 2 and 0 this is a situation where the hitter is looking for something up in the zone that he can get his arms extended what you have to be careful of is that pitch that’s up that’s in on your hands that’ll pop you up in the infield and that’s exactly what the pitcher wants and now two and one and strike two two balls two strikes towards first tosses to the pitcher covering the bag runner scores though that’s a little insurance and the lead is two and at the plate for Miami Kyle Stard delivers a pitch in for a strike at 95 the count fast ball for a strike at 95 i understand you want to try to gauge that guy’s fast ball but you also have to be aggressive and ready to hit in your zone now you’re in a tough spot fast ball is outside next pitch in the dirt and now two balls and two strikes swanging a highf fly ball hit the air left center field this one’s got a chance reaching for it and brings it in so they get a couple of runs on two hits no errors and no one left off second inning coming up here in South Florida it’s the Marlins two and the Phillies nothing back here in Miami top of the second so here’s the Phillies DH nick Castillianos alcantara back to work short hop liner handled it short whips it to first and Castanos is out the right field max Kepler now batting Max Kepler kepler measures 6’4 in 32 years old and he was born in Germany and first offering is fouled off one down base is empty and that one hit to first and he grabs it in foul ground swings through him for the K couldn’t hit the fast ball at the knees two down base is empty now it’s the rookie first baseman ball one no strikes off to a great start he’s really cruising out there on the mound he’s got a chance to get through these first two innings with under 20 pitches that could set him up to go deep into this game the line to kick the pitch that’s a strike across the top of the zone definitely not a pitch location you’re expecting up there as a hitter when you know the guy’s got a good sinker ball if he can get in that location boy you’ve got to look top to bottom and that’s going to make it very difficult to hit two outs foul ball still a one and two count that wasn’t an easy pitch to hit it’s much easier to do damage against mistakes but that’s not what that pitch was here’s a swing and a drive left field and he knew it his first homer of the year and they’re on the scoreboard it’s 2-1 he absolutely crushed that one no doubt about that one Boo we knew it wasn’t coming back with this pitcher’s velocity a change up is really a break for a hitter he got a BP fast ball didn’t move a whole lot and he absolutely tattooed it this is Bryson stop and a first pitch fast ball is in for a strike two down base is empty but one run across here in the top of the second pitch is in there no balls two strikes hit on the ground to the right side and it goes just foul that missed by a lot it’s a ball in two strikes that’s down and in two out base is empty off the mark there and it’s three and two wow this guy’s really battling up there as if his run is the game-winning run i love his tenacity laser could be trouble makes the turn and heads for second and he’s in there standing up with a two out double well a swing like that can help you come out of this struggle we saw the numbers coming into the ball game but all he’s trying to do at this point is help his team win so runner at second two down and here’s the catcher Raphael Marawn first pitch doesn’t find his own fouled off left side pretty good pitch to take a pass at and a one count just not able to square it up comes up empty that’s strike two one stoper at second with two down next pitch is downstairs and that’s downstairs and outside brandon March in the on deck circle hoping to get a chance to make a big impact here so now two on and two outs brandon first and second two outs brandon March stands in for the Phillies that just misses ball one two aboard two outs next offering misses and the count now two with nothing good spot for the hitter definitely has the advantage in this count with runners on look for him to be aggressive on this next pitch that one catches the zone and it’s two and one two one strike now a blooper back behind Short he’s got it and that’ll end the Phils do get one back on this solo home run and this is now a 2-1 ball game bottom half of inning number two and now for the Marlins Eric Wagaman right through there for a strike oh and one [Music] and a swing and a miss there boo our man Daryl Parker DP at home played for this one pretty average size strike zone but the book on him is that it sort of moves around you can’t always count on how he’s going to call it from game to game next offering is downstairs yeah he’s one of those umpires that I have to see make his call on a borderline pitch before I start making my call like you said it’s not always predictable but it’s pretty fair for the most part little bit low and that’s ball two really good take especially with two strikes cuts on it and misses that’s a strike out some high cheese for strike three that’s tough you see it well i mean that was clearly up and out of the strike zone but that’s one of the hardest things but when you see a pitch out of the hand at eye level that discipline to remember I can’t hit that pitch if I can see it really well at eye level I can’t catch up to that pitch when a pitcher’s got this kind of velocity and first offering is fouled off [Music] and that one upstairs ball one and that misses and that’s ball two swinging a ground ball towards first but fouled one out base is empty way high with that one full count now strike three and that’s two in a row he had him out in front which isn’t easy to do against a hitter like this known for using the entire field just couldn’t sit back long enough on that one connor Norby in the box now no balls in a strike two down nobody on and ball one two one last couple of pitches breaking balls away i think he’s going to have to come firm inside to be able to open up that location if he wants to go back there later in this count swing and a miss and now two and two well and those hitters count sometimes can be a little too aggressive and a good pitcher will play off of that he’s got to get a better pitch to hit ground ball to Bow throws across the diamond marlins set down in order and the Marlins down quietly as they’re unable to add to their 2-1 lead top half of the third inning trey Turner at the plate trey Turner fought off foul swing at a high-fly ball right field he’s got it there’s the run away that’s just a really nice catch on the run right there he’s safe extra bases for sure if the pitcher’s his friend he’ll give him a second to catch his breath before he’s ready to deal the next pitch that one is absolutely belted that’s back there gone way up into the upper deck into the second deck it goes his 23rd of the year it’s 2-2 he sent the first pitch over the wall must have dinner reservations cuz he wasn’t wasting any time at the plate in that at bat lightning fast hands to be able to hit that velocity fast ball on the inside part of the plate in my experience when you’re looking out over the plate allowing the ball to travel it’s pure reaction to hit a pitch in that location that’s a tremendous swing and now it’s Alec Bow and that’s in there at the knees part of the order coming through now and with one home run already in this inning they’re definitely looking to do some more damage i just love watching Alcantra get ready for games boom he turns into a different person just usually cracking jokes and having a good time but start days are a different story that’s when things get serious for this guy quickly into an O2 count both pitches were down in the zone i think you set your sights a little bit higher cuz you’ll have a tendency to chase if you look down in that area and the swing and miss and K is his third of the game made quick work of him right there Sigy i know that’s the kind of at bat maybe leaves a lot of fans wondering what was he doing up there right yeah and I get that i mean you take two straight strikes then chase one way out of the zone it’s it’s just not a good at bat it’ll leave you shaking your head as a hitter if not worse but there’s always going to be those trips to the plate where you’re just lost up there and that was one of them for sure here’s Nicholas Castillianos missed with a change up and that is ball one there’s a strike one and one next offering is down low tied up here in the early going next offering upstairs that’s ball four tried another fast ball but missed the spot oh that’s a really good take right there and that’s just mentally prepared knowing that if it’s not on a TE you’re going to take that pitch because you still have one more strike to work with not easy to lay off but he did an excellent job in that plate appearance little chopper rolls foul alcantra over to first and he’s back in on a dive [Music] the 01 yeah that’s fouled off castianos leads off first with two down to the inning starting to go after it now will it look down to third and he held back according to Ricky Holiday that one way outside and the count now even up and they put the tag on him for the out the Phillies get one by way of the long ball two two game set for the bottom of the third here’s the center fielder Dane Meyers and that one sliced fouled swing and a ball driven out to center that one back gone and it gives them the lead in the third it’s 3-2 that’s a fun way to take the lead just hit one out of the park a good hitter gets pitch recognition early he saw exactly where that was going to be the challenge not get over anxious and come out of your swing he stayed on it and got all of it back to the top of the Miami order xavier Edwards the next up for the Marlins and that’s in for a strike and that’s off the inside edge and the count is one and one nobody on nobody out with a run in here in the last half of the third and a foul ball [Music] off the mark there and the count is even two and two that’s good pitch there really had some run and finished little up and in just on the edge and that’s one of those if you swing at it he had a broken bat as you jog back to the dugout breaks his bat there’s a soft liner scoops it up bare-handed got it in nice play oh that was pretty right there beautiful play with the bare hand jesus Sanchez digs in now and that’s in for a strike and it’s 0 and one swinging a foul straight back i wouldn’t throw him another breaking ball try to go again with a fast ball slightly elevated he just having a hard time catching up oh he hit him he got hit and that got him pretty flush he had two strikes on him and he hit him and up next for Miami Otto Lopez grounded out his first time off there’s a strike when you’re struggling out there on the mound hitters know that there’ll be plenty of opportunities within the at bat to try to get something to hit hard man at first one away next pitch is outside cut on and lifted in the air kepler sizes this one up no trouble here puts it away for the out and there’s two down now back the designated hitter Augustine Ramirez now it’s going to be Augustine Ramirez line drive and this might be trouble and that’s going to get into the corner coming home and he’s out cut down and that ends the inning textbook defensive execution right there outfielder hits the cut off man relay throw to the plate a perfect strike and a great way to end the inning and we’re back new inning getting started so digging in now for Philadelphia number four just missed well these Phillies showing great discipline at the plate and patience definitely seems to be the name of their game in this one they’re doing a good job of working the pitch count and they’ve been able to push a couple of runs across to score as well that one drifts inside still relatively early but with a pair of runs already on the board the ripple effect of that high pitch count might set him up to do more damage later in this game i got three and0 next pitch in for a strike three and one that one misses so a lead off walk bryson stop stands in for the Phillies doubled in his first AB look out and it hit him first and second no outs digging in raphael Marawn worked to walk in his first trip to the plate pitch misses there and that’s ball one ball one no strike [Music] in the dirt throw safe and both runners move up on the wild pitch belug it’s already been a tough start to this inning as it is and that wild pitch is going to make things even tougher two men in the scoring position now still with nobody out so this really becomes a strikeout situation on the mount up the middle hole dives but it’s off his glove one runs in and he’ll just eat it that’s an infield single tying run on third he’s looking to find a way to bring him home and he gets it done with an infield single of all things and that’s probably not how he imagined the atbat played out but they’ll absolutely take it brandon Marsh steps to the plate in the air to left down the line makes the grab runner tags for home the throws offline he’s saved four to three they take the lead there you go nice little RBI there it’s a great at bat got the job done trey Turner with a chance now just missed action in the pen down there jansen Junk preparing to come on if needed quatrol also throwing fouled off he was late that one fouled off [Music] and a foul ball he stays alive marawn the base runner at first with one out fouls it off still one and two also really good at bat what I like about this guy his bat stays in the zone for a long time gives him the ability to foul off tough pitches and that is downstairs and the CS keep it at two this guy’s a fun guy to watch taken at bat he just battles up there he doesn’t take a pitch off at all makes it so difficult on the pitchers out there you can tell they get frustrated with how long it takes to put him away base hit they fired in quickly so it’s first and second with only one away showed a lot of fight with two strikes in that AB wasn’t able to elevate that one but he sure hit it hard enough to get through the infield there’s not a whole lot of time for the defenders to react and try to make a play when it’s ripped like that first and second one out shwver getting ready to hit he’s already homerred in this game and the first pitch misses for ball one got the dish looking to look the ball in the air in this spot anything but the inning inning double play boo [Music] next pitch is downstairs last two pitches have been down in the zone pitcher clearly trying to get that ground ball double play but in this count he’s going to have to give in elevate his pitches and get back into this at bat schwarber swings and hammers one to right and it’s into the bullpen for a homer another homer he’s done it again his second homer of the game and they tack on three it’s 73 already playing with the lead and now they’re celebrating a home run they’re having a great time out there anytime you have a pitch down the middle of the plate the percentages go up for the hitter to do damage even if it’s a pretty good sinker like that one nice piece of hitting there at the plate now the Marlins manager out of the dugout and he’ll make a move to the pen sandy Alcantur won’t go any further and the home run really bit him today as he exits on the hook for the loss new arm coming on after the break new pitcher for the Marlins Valente Beoo well they didn’t get much length out of their starter in this one so they’ve got a lot of outs to eat up in that bullpen i think they’ll look for some length out of him right here if they can get it one down and here comes Alec Bow and action there for strike one offense exploding for five so far in the inning top half of inning number four that misses the zone and one and one swing and a miss and that’s strike two clearly was sitting on a fast ball right there and just ended up out in front of the slider hey you can’t fault him for his commitment now he’s just going to have to battle with two strikes one down base is empty swing at a fly ball in the air out towards right center field tracks it down for the out and there are two outs oh those can be pretty fun as an outfielder got to put it into his highest gear and go a long way to track that one down nothing better than that you feel like a wide receiver playing football castillanos the next to hit takes outside next offering is fouled back ripped to right and puts the squeeze on that one and that is that but not before five cross the plate with a big blow being this threerun homer it’s now 73 ready to go bottom four and at the plate for Miami kyle Sters that’s a ball tried to attack with a sweeper you know these Marlins do a great job Boo of just waiting for the right pitch to come their way and I’m seeing very patient at bats out of them it’s not just the three runs they’ve already scored on top of that they forced this starter to throw more pitches than he wanted to at this point of the game and now two balls in a strike and that pitch count is impactful because if they can keep making him work hard out there it may force the bullpen to get involved a little sooner rather than later up the middle and that’s a base hit had a good start to the inning you’ll often hear the phrase short to it long through it and that’s a great example of it right there got the barrel in the hitting zone early squared it up with the welltimed swing and came away with a beautiful line drive into center field wagaman takes a ball as he stands in for the second time stop to second for one back to first and that is a double play they made that double play look so easy but it was far from routine that’s the one thing about big leaguers they make tough plays look simple two outs space is empty liam Hicks now at the plate he’s 0 for one and immediately pumps in a strike to the left-handed hitter ripped in the air left field and a touchdown for a base hit and that keeps the inning alive Connor Norby the next up for the Marlins first time up he grounded to third that misses one and0 come on swang and a miss just not able to catch up to that velocity two ball one strike hicks off of first with Jul [Music] that’s to third boom they take the force out that’s the inning marlins leave one deficit remains at four it’s 73 and welcome back to the ballpark all set for the start of the inning at the plate Max Kepler bezo back to work that one ripped that’s back there and that’s a home run into the upper deck he sends it into the second deck his second homer of this series it’s 83 that’s their fourth home run of the game they can’t stop and they won’t stop hitting home runs in this one boo they’re clearly feeding off of each other at the dish looks like this guy was looking out over the plate but he was ready to turn on the inside fast ball so direct to the pitch absolutely blasted out of this ballpark next is the speedy first baseman he’s already homered here in this one and that one popped to short lopez hauls it in for the out the batter Bryson Stock stands in for the Phillies a former first round pick and he’s really turned into a nice everyday player just be measures 5′ 10 in 210 lb and he’s a native of Mexico one down base is empty on the ground to first and he takes it himself for the out number 13 Raphael Marawn raphael Marawn will hit next that one’s in there and that’s strike one back door him with a breaking ball just got the corner there’s nothing you can really do with that a dive nice stop over to first and they kick it out first it looks like making the stop is the hardest part but feeding to the pitcher on the move I think even tougher great job of hitting that moving target they’re going to be fired up in the dugout we head to the bottom of the fifth and now for the Marlins Dane Meyers just missed foul ball on the ground right side handles throws to first and the leadoff hitter retired in the fifth base so the batting order turns over xavier Edwards the next up for the Marlins singled and scored back in the first he’s one for two that one inside ball one the Phillies leading by five last half of inning number five and another ball doing right through there for a strike [Music] that one hit to right kepler sizing this one up puts it away for the out two away now the left fieldielder number seven two down base is empty now the number two hitter Jesus Sanchez and first offering is fouled off two outs that’s hard hit on the line marsh makes the catch and that’ll do it and one two three golden Marlins can’t chip away at an 83 deficit all right we go to the top half of inning number six now the left fielder Brandon March ripped towards third zips it across now one gone in the top of the six trey Turner so the Philly batting order turns over trey Turner now one for three let’s go he swings and fouls one off one down base is empty they say No balls two strikes next pitch not close up high o2 fast ball way out of the zone i think he’s trying to speed him up got to stay back off speed’s probably coming oh can’t pick it up cleanly safe at first no play we’ll see how they score this couple of hits in a row for him here fielder got a piece of it but the way that thing came off the bat no surprise at all he couldn’t pick it cleanly it’s a very difficult play and that swing definitely was deserving of a hit and Kyle Schwarber will come up he’s got a couple homers already so can he possibly do it again come on man of course he can those two he hit were legit and he looks pretty locked in right now at the dish [Music] fast for a strike turner at first one gone just missed one and one now move to first and Turner’s back in the one two good job to fight that one off spoils a two- strike pitch and he’ll see another all right Miami double play ball to second there’s one and it’s a double play to end the inning no runs one hit no errors and no one left hard of the order 345 coming up it’s the Phillies eight and the Marlins three back here in Low Depot Park and the batter will be the shortstop Otto Lopez you talk about elite defensive players especially in the middle of the diamond and this guy is at the top of the list swinging a foul back and that’s out of play here comes the 01 now a pop up on the infield has a beat on it calls it in and there’s one away now the designated hitter Augustine now it’s the DH Augustine Ramirez there’s the strike stirring in the Phillies bullpen orion Kirkering up and throwing stum a left-hander also throwing base is empty one away here in the bottom of the six next offering way off the plate ball two fast ball for a strike at 95 and it’s fouled off they’ll do it again flew open a little bit with that front shoulder but was able to slow his bat down just enough to make contact with that pitch keep the bat alive [Music] and it’s caught for the out now batting to right field two outs space is empty and up next for Miami Kyle Sters one for two just missed next offering upstairs [Music] that’s a ball free ball no strike top of the zone and it’s called a strike [Music] and that is out of play ray pitch hard hit right side scott over to first in time and it’s a one two3 inning nothing across here this half we’re through six full it’s the Phillies eight and the Marlins three we go to the top of the seventh now the third baseman Alec Bone first pitch misses you know these Phils simply put are producing a lot of quality swings they have five extra base hits on the stat sheet so far and that tells me they’re seeing the ball out of the pitcher’s hand really well [Music] so a foul ball makes it one and two with all those extra base hits it’s easy to think we’re going to see that trend continue the rest of the game they seem to be really locked in at the plate and a ball evens a count worm burner into the outfield for a knock solo runner aboard to start the inning couldn’t have timed it up any better than that there was nothing cheap about the way he got that one through the infield that was ripped caught out in front and didn’t get under it like he would have liked but definitely put a good swing on it nick Castanos at the plate now that one’s in there that’s strike one 01’s the count base knock center field throw back in quickly first and second now with nobody out hitting is really easy for some guys one thing that I could see already his bat stays in the zone on plane for an extended period of time and guys like that they have a high contact rate and they have more barrels because of that bat being on plane and even when you don’t get it great it’s still hit hard enough to dunk something in like that in front of the center fielder kepler stands in now and watches strike one boom at second Castanos at first with no outs and a foul ball punch him out inside and the count is one and two strike him out strike him out and that one in there has got Speckler one gone here and now the first baseman it’s interesting he plays kind of a a power spot defensively but runs pretty well so when you’re looking at that position you’re not expecting someone that has maybe above average speed but he does and I think that skill set really upgrades the position because when you have that kind of speed it makes the whole team that much better and that’s outside what about him playing another position on defense one that would require a little more range absolutely and I think if push came to shove where they had to make a move during a game surprise a lot of people you might even be able to put him in center field double play ball to second it’s in and out of his glove throw to first gets him good job to stay with it there for the second out [Music] now it’s the second baseman Bryson stop and this is a big opportunity for him to pick up his teammate right here hey here comes the one had a slider misses down and away i got one ball one strike foul ball there fights that one away still one and two two outs two in scoring position here in the top half of inning number seven and he grounds one to the right side edwards throws to first in time that ends the frame phillies leave a couple but they lead at 8-3 [Music] we’re back in a new pitcher here to start the bottom of the seventh Orion Kirkery and as relievers go he’s not a big strikeout guy he tries to force weak contact so command and execution are huge for him and here’s the first baseman Eric Wagaban eric Wagman first off and it just misses right through there for a strike in this situation you expect the batters to be a little more patient possibly take until they get a strike with that you don’t want to miss your opportunity to get ahead early in the count he didn’t right there that’s the third boots it number 24 man at first Liam Hicks the next up for the Marlins ground ball right side over to Turner for one to first double play nicely done for me that’s one of the toughest double plays to turn on the infield the first baseman has to get inside create a throwing lane to hit that middle infielder to start the double play and then from there completing it back to first really good job all the way around two down base is empty connor Norby the next up for the Marlins pitch misses there and it’s one and0 two down nobody on here in the bottom of the seventh that’s a strike swings here and drives one well left field way back and you can’t forget it a gigantic blast his fourth home run of the season it’s 84 that one just sounded different and it might have been the loudest moment yet man my ears are ringing i can feel that swing from the boot that’s as big as it gets right there you take advantage of a mistake that is an ultimate here it is watch it i’m going to jog around the bases two outs nobody on and now the center fielder Dane Meyers delivers a pitch in for a strike at 95 this one in the air settles underneath it makes the grab and that’s the inning one for the Marlins on the solo shot it’s now an 84 score back after this on the show welcome back and a new arm on the mound to start the eighth calvin Foch he’s got a wicked breaking ball in his arsenal and it’s definitely one of his go-to pitches when he needs an out raphael Marawn stands in for the Phillies raphael Mar [Music] outside low and that is ball he’s a bullpen arm that keeps the ball in the ballpark but obviously out of the bullpen you’re looking to limit home runs yeah and that’s why he’s such a high leverage arm just doesn’t matter for him he looks at attacking his own and attacking hitters regardless of the situation that misses and that’s ball three that one misses so a lead off walk second walk of the game for him and he’s been really patient at the play a game plan that he’s sticking to he’s just not going outside of what he’s looking for up young right-hander up and throwing quantrol getting loose as well [Music] the one-1 is fouled off come on you can do it that one misses two balls two strikes [Music] highf fly ball right field sters makes the catch for the out the batter number seven short stop Trey and now the shorts stop Trey Turner [Music] that’s in there and that is strike one runner takes off swinging a foul back that’s out of play marawn over at first with one away [Music] that one missed and that’s awfully close i don’t know how you take that he’s seeing the ball out of the pitcher’s hand really well right now let’s go Miami soft contact in the air and that’s a base hit and now to a board the center field number 12 Kyle Schwarber kyle Schwarber comes up to hit here let’s get the easy now let’s go hit hard on the ground to the right side and foul ball calls it in two away takes it to the back himself but he’s back in time so first and second with two outs here’s the third baseman Alec Bow [Music] and the first pitch misses for ball one out towards right center that’s well struck and no one can get there one run across another comes in to score and it’s now a sixrun lead fires the second too late and he’s got a double gets the job done as he brings home a pair that pretty much split the zone down the middle and those are the ones where you got to make them pay man in scoring position with two away and next will be the cleanup hitter Nick Castillianos that one well upstairs and that’s ball one just missed two and0 next offering is in for a strike [Music] that clips the corner two outs and one in scoring position swing in a bouncer towards third but it kicks foul fly ball to right sters puts it away and that’ll do it they put two on the board with a couple of hits no errors and one left last half of the eighth coming up it’s the Phillies 10 and the Marlins four back here in a blowout which gives us a chance to talk about just about anything bro don’t get me fired singing one of the biggest ways the game has changed bullpen arms so many elite level bullpen arms yeah and I’m glad I’m not playing anymore i mean it’s just a nightmare when that door swings open out of the bullpen you know what’s coming in is 95 and above with at least one nasty pitch so a foul ball makes it one and two the other component is you get less viewings of a specific pitcher so your ability to go to school on one guy you maybe get two looks at him and then he’s gone yeah and I mean these guys utilize the iPads and try to see previous footage of that pitcher but it’s just not the same as having an actual look and it drops in and a good start to the inning the leftielder number here’s the left fielder Pesu Sanchez [Music] and a first pitch fastball is in for a strike kirkering the 6’2 righty 23 years old and he was a fifth round pick in 2022 [Music] this one in the air one away the batter number six short stop here’s the shortstop at the plate otto Lopez 0 for three in this one that clips the corner oh one’s the count outside and the count even one and one [Music] right through there for a strike that’s a great take right there even though it’s a strike with the situation runner on first base you want to keep the ball off the ground and you swing at that pitch most likely you roll into a double play popped in the air left field it drops in gets away a little bit tag got him aggressive base running there trying to take advantage of the defense but he’s out at third as a base runner right there you’re making the call yourself this ball is clearly in front of you and you got to know for sure if you’re going to be able to make it safely to third that time he was wrong as a really nice throw came into third and next is the designated hitter Augustine Ramirez just missed went out next pitch is outside backed off the plate that time and ball four to a board that just came apart right there four pitch walk and guy at the play was not going to help him out by swinging it something out of the zone so digging in Kyle Sters hit weakly on the ground to second turner out number three this one pretty well decided at this point through eight full it’s the Phillies 10 and the Marlins four now we’re back it’s the top of the ninth and there’s a new pitcher on the mound jansen Junk definitely a guy that pounds the strike zone makes hitters earn their way on base and rarely gets in trouble because of free passes max Kepler at the plate the right fielder max Kepler first pitch just misses [Music] gets the outside corner with that one falling behind two and one he got two balls one strike next offering is fouled back [Music] still two and two after the foul ball and a swing and a line drive at a right field sters snags it one down it was all over that fast right there i tell you what if he gets under it just by a fraction of an inch or a little bit more that’s way back and now the first baseman delivers a pitch in for a strike at 95 activity in the bullpen freddy Tarnick getting ready to go ground ball right side it squirts through so a man aboard now with one away the batter second base right there and digging in for Philadelphia bryson stop that to right sters makes the catch and there’s two away now batting Raphael Mar here’s the Phillies catcher Raphael Marawn that’s in for a strike [Music] swinging a foul out of play [Music] two outs gets a piece there we’ll do it again [Music] on the ground to third and the inning is over one hit one left 678 scheduled to start the bottom of the ninth it’s the Phillies 10 and the Marlins four now back now as they hand the ball to a fresh arm to start the bottom of the ninth matt Stum compared to some days this is a pretty low leverage appearance for him so he should be fairly free and easy out there still have to keep yourself sharp and attack the strike zone so digging in Eric Wagaban Wagan that one finds the zone strike one well he had a pretty good look at that pitch and not sure exactly what tied him up there couldn’t pull the trigger and perhaps the best pitch he’ll see in this at bat to hit swings through that one two really good backto-back sliders now in an 02 count he’s feeling real confident about finishing this hitter off he can go anywhere he wants and they’ll do it again and he’ll shoot chopped to first and he handles it himself for the out now batting catcher and here is Liam Hicks and had a breaking ball misses outside i can’t play around with him here it’s a six-run lead at this point got to attack hitters even if you give up a solo shot edge of the zone called the strike and it’s one and one upstairs oh that’s too high and the slider just misses fought off foul 3-2 on the way swinging a miss struck him out and the Marlins with just one out left connor Norton the next up for the Marlins get another one right through there for a strike two down nobody on we’re in the last half of the ninth inning popped up to the left into foul ground and he’s got it ball game and the Phillies slug their way to a win in this one well with this sixth win in a row all of a sudden you start to look around up and down the lineup to your left to your right as a player and you say you know what we’re good uh we may have had some tough times earlier on but this is a good team and you start to expect this kind of play out of yourselves we’ll see if this translates into a
