Washington Nationals vs Los Angeles Dodgers Predictions Today | Top MLB Picks For 6/20/25

again They snapped their 11game losing streak avoided their franchise high 12game losses in a row by one game We’ll talk about that in a moment And my LA Dodgers I’ve always enjoyed watching the Dodgers play Big Mookie Bets fan They are loaded talent-wise but they’re not playing very good baseball In fact these are two teams right now that are trending to the downside So what do we do with this game well let’s not worry about the winner Let’s just stay away from the side Let’s look at the total instead I do think it should be a fairly lowscoring game with two good pitchers on the mound Mackenzie Gore and Clayton Kershaw Now Kershaw was not a good pitcher a couple months ago He came back into the lineup in miday made his first start of the season and he did not pitch well against the LA Angels back on May 17th Gave up five runs in just three innings of work In fact in his first three outings he had only six strikeouts with six walks in 11 innings pitched And I said back at the end of May that Kershaw might be done He might be over the hill and he struggled then against the Mets in his fourth start but he’s been pretty good in his last two outings in the month of June In fact his last two starts 12 innings and only one run allowed 12 strikeouts and only one walk So it does look like Clayton Kershaw has flipped the switch and is pitching much better than his overall numbers for the season indicate And I think he’ll have success against an ice cold Washington Nationals lineup As I mentioned the Nationals just snapped their 11game losing streak last yesterday at home Now they have to travel cross country without rest And they didn’t hit the ball well Only eight hits only four runners left on They only had one run the game before that Their offense has been ice cold as is often the case when you’re on an extended losing streak So I do think Kershaw can shut the Nationals down tonight Nationals team total under three and a half Could be worth a look But the Nationals should have pretty good success on the man as well as they have one of the most underrated pitchers in baseball Mackenzie Gore He was part of that Juan Sto deal What a what a great trade that was for Washington a few years ago with the San Diego Padres’s The Padres’s basically mortgaged their future to get Sodto for a short-term playoff run And they don’t even have him anymore He’s been on two teams since both New York teams since They gave up James Wood They gave up Mackenzie Gore Um who’s the other guy i’m forgetting the other name They had three or four guys in that line Oh Abrams a shortstop Abrams was the first guy to play What a great deal by the Nationals It’s a team on the rise And I do think Mackenzie Gore is gonna be a large part of that pitching staff for years to come And he’s having an excellent season 2.9 ERA overall and a 2.4 ERA his last seven starts since early May I think both offenses struggling The net the Dodgers are not in good current form Loss is a $240 favorite last night five to three against San Diego And all three runs came in the ninth inning They had only six hits overall in the game Only seven hits the game before that And the Dodgers home games this year they’ve been about a run less per game at home It has not been hitter friendly So I do like the under eight eight and a half tonight between Gore Kershaw Dodgers Nationals under the total You could also look at the first five inning line under four and a half And the reason I mentioned that is because both bullpens have been dicey Dodgers weakness this year has been their bullpen RA of over four Nationals bullpen has been one of the worst in all of baseball They have an RA around the six range this season Um in fact the Nationals bullpen RA uh last time I checked uh was atrocious In fact I think their overall bullpen I’ll pull it In fact I’ll pull it up for you right now They’re both in RA this year as we head into Friday night as a team 5.77 So just shy of six Road games have actually been better 4.75 Terrible whip though 1.56 And the Dodgers 4.05 RA at home is not that great as well So you could take the bullpens out of the equation by doing a first five inning under four and a half or the full game under eight and a half or split the difference Half a unit first five half a unit on the full game Not a bad way to attack it but I do look for a low-scoring game Both offenses are struggling and both starting pitchers are in excellent current form tonight Kershaw Gore under the total whether first five or full game you decide on Friday night national TV
