#DallasCowboys Fish at 6 LIVE in Frisco! GIGANTIC #cowboys NOTEBOOK! Join us!

and we’re in Frisco Oh how I missed my office my hat and 75,000 fish heads in Cowboy Nation That’s you I’m Mike Fisher your trusty and trusty reporter A loaded fish at six tonight Top 10 and maybe more So this would be a good night because we haven’t had a chance to talk face to face um a lot this week Obviously Marcia dragged me out for a couple of half days Uh so get your big comfortable silver and blue chair and let’s sit back and kick this around a little bit Item by item by item There’s the six bongs on the wall Oh I missed that too So uh bring something of inlet to the table as you always do Get in get on be good Straight dope No bullsh Let’s go Dak Prescott the runner And we’ve done the study on this If you have a quarterback who can also run your offense is better especially in the playoffs This is indisputable Uh that that the playoff winner who’s just a pocket passer and that’s all he can do Um they don’t succeed the way the guy who can either really run or move succeeds Factual And so if you’re a Cowboy fan do you want Dak Prescott to be a runner and effective and elusive and effective and uh and win in the playoffs and and by the way not get hurt Um Allan Wright brings up Tom Brady First of all Tom Brady doesn’t play anymore Tom Brady is from an era that began 25 years ago And if you don’t view Tom Brady as an anomaly in almost every single way then you don’t know what you’re watching in football We could say it about Matthew Stafford too I mean give me your list Although they got to be guys that are active now Give me quarterbacks now who all they can do is stand there like a statue and throw And I come up with Stafford and I come up with golf and that’s it Who Who there who can win who can do that and still win games And by the way it might have something to do with the supporting cast around him Good try Allan Wright Boy did I miss you Uh I missed everybody Uh by the way Jim Law Tony Fisher Indie Car Tim Sugar and Broken Halo is running the Uncle Fish store below So the answer is yes If I could find a way to have Dak Prescott read running and mobility to his game they’d be better Concerns Oh yeah There’s three of them One of them is the ankle one of them is the calf and one of them is the hamstring Can you be careful Hey Dak we want you to play 17 games We We think we can go to the playoffs with you Who knows what can happen with the playoffs but over the course of the 17 games let’s game planwise and in terms of the way you handle your business let’s be really careful You can’t do it that way They did tell him this was after his rookie year when you’re running quit using quit stiff arming people with your right hand That’s not worth it They did tell him that Uh Steve from Texas Uncle Fish Premium run and slide Absolutely There there’s there’s just no need There’s no need once you have the first down there’s no need to try to bull your way to six more inches So those things at as he approaches age 32 those things can register in your head But be careful with your hamstring Can’t do that again Joey Jeffrey Kurt VJ Enrique welcome Welcome to me Welcome back to me ESPN fantasy This is Mike Clay who does a great job Yeah Has a prediction for Dak Jamil checking in for Brooklyn straight Dope No bullsh says he’s going to have 49 carries for 200 yards and two touchdowns Okay And I’m all for that That would that would make the Cowboys offense better Here’s the problem with the prediction That would be the second highest production number for Dak as a runner since 2019 He hasn’t done anything like that in half a decade That was half a decade ago that he did that Uh this projection also would put Dak down as rushing for 4.4 yards per carry Again I’ll I’ll take it Wouldn’t that be something to have that threat and I’m I’m falling way short of saying you know let’s let’s let’s run you know read option stuff I’m not saying that Nobody’s buying Dak Prescott as a read option quarterback unless he proves otherwise But a defense isn’t going to buy that But things break down and you run and you get 4.4 yards a carry all for it Problem is he hasn’t done that since 2021 So we’re talking about projecting Dak Prescott to do things as a runner at age 32 that the last time he did him he was 27 26 I don’t think it’s a I think it’s a great idea I don’t think it’s a good prediction Item two uh our friends at the Landry Hatton boy they do a great job and they’re it’s a fan-based website and they love their Cowboys and it’s grand So the Cowboys sign a quarterback Robert Rashelle and he’s got a couple skins on the wall He’s been the league He He’s made some plays He’s been a part-time starter but he’s just a guy In fact he’s trying really hard to return to being just a guy And uh the Landry hats headline on it is the Cowboys sign a quarterback and it’s the worst possible one Now wait a minute And I do understand J.R Alexander went over there and and uh what about that Dolphins quarterback What Jaylen Ramsey Why don’t we get him And when are we going to call Gilly And what about Asante Samuel I get all of that I especially get that Jaier Alexander’s base salary is $4 million in Baltimore I really get that I I get your irritation over that He plays seven games a year But don’t be irritated because they signed a 90th man to the 90man roster It is not the worst move they could have made They decided we want our 90th man to be this quarterback So he’s their 90th man U by the way he’s a special teamer I think he play I think last year for the Packers I think he played one snap on defense I think that’s right Check me if I’m wrong on that I just got off vacation I think he played 41% of the snaps on special teams and I think he like went in for a cup of coffee on defense Jim Law mentions the algorithms This is way beyond my tiny brain My head’s huge but my brain is small But if you hit the like button it does help fortify what we do and it helps YouTube know what you want in Cowboys programming and NFL programming So would you please hit the like button on a count of three One two and three Thank you Uh subscribe to what we do here and cowboyscountry.com Because I’ve been away I haven’t really monitored you know Cam Steve Sicho Jason Jim have you been going to cowboyscountry.com Not trying to guilt you into it Just saying get your ass over there multiple times a day please cowboyscountry.com Robert Rashelle it’s not the world’s worst signing they could possibly He’s just a signer It’s not the worst move It’s not the best move It’s just a move Item three Cam Newton um doesn’t just play a goofball on TV He is one but he’s also I mean he was a Super Bowl quarterback and one MVP But why don’t do these shows the these networks do they not have like producers and directors and information guys and guy coaches and guidance and Cam Newton went nuts this week with a big doublebarreled clickbait shotgun If the Cowboys don’t win big this year Dak Prescott’s career is over meaning they’re going to cut him I presume and Jerry’s got a plan to go get Arch Manning Curtis Cam Newton doesn’t understand contract Clearly not In fact he doesn’t understand anything about Arch Manning either But to some it’s gotten to a point now when I’m made aware of this kind of stuff It’s almost not Cam Newton’s fault Nobody nobody stops him Now that this really happens on FS1 on that Shady McCoy’s but there’s nobody at ESPN Okay Cam what are you going to talk about today What’s you’re What’s this segment What are you doing this segment This is how you do it in radio What are we going to do in this segment Well we’re going to talk about Dak Prescott and whether he’s a running quarterback All right Uh can somebody get me the last time that he had 200 yards rushing in a season Yes Fish Uh that’d be the second highest total since 2019 Good Write it down We’ll put it in the segment Hey um let’s look up this idea of 4.4 yards per carry for Dak When was the last time that happened Uh Fish hadn’t happened since 2021 Okay good That’s part of the segment But the idea of me just going on radio or going on this show and going they’re gonna cut back and and draft arch and somebody the beauty of it is you guys would call me on it VJ would say “Isn’t that almost impossible capwise?” Well as a matter of fact it is Depending on how you want to look at it and how they would do it the Cowboys would quite possibly have to eat $130 million in dead money I’ve said it many times I’ve reported it as fact Dak Prescott on purpose Dax PreScott’s contract has escapability after next year So if it hasn’t worked and he’s getting ready to turn 34 and it’s just not working there’s financial escapability built into the contract He knows it They know it Everybody that pays any attention knows it You guys know it cuz we’ve talked about it Chris Newman Cam’s watching this now He should But it’s not even his fault He’s a goofball He’s adult when it comes to actual not adult when it comes to understanding X’s and O’s but he doesn’t understand any of this And the second part of this farce is the secret plan to get Arch Manning So you’re going to go through a a season of Dak mediocrity where the Cowboys don’t quote succeed So they go seven and 10 Then you’re going to say “Damn it we went seven and 10 Dak it’s your fault We’re willing to eat $130 million of cap rooms to say goodbye to you.” And then we’re going to hand it over to Arch University of Texas Problems You just went seven and 10 Where does that put you in the draft order 12th So you’re going to draft Arch Manning with the 12th overall pick That would be pretty that would be a good plan for Jerry Use the 12th overall pick to get Arch Manning The other part of this and I don’t think you have to be a Longhorn faithful to know this he has no plans on leaving there He’s he’s pl he’s not he’s not planning on coming out next year’s draft No we’ll see But he’s not planning And then Kurt I appreciate what you’re saying too There’s one more leg on this chair I don’t know if Arch Manning’s any good I never We’ve never seen him play an extended period of time in major college football I think it’s a solid prediction but for every possible from every possible angle looking at this this should never see the light of day on your TV set Joey I thought you could do anything under the cap You can Oh you can cut him I can do anything in terms of a surgical procedure too So I can cut off my leg I can be harder for me to walk Item four Um at cowboycountry.com we wrote a story on the release of Justin big Justin Rogers and we mentioned um that he’s a fan favorite And we went over that we thought about this for a minute Is that an exaggeration Allan Dak won’t get another contract with the Cowboys if he doesn’t get him to the NFC Championship game Allan I got news for you I don’t care what he does He He probably not getting another contract He’s gonna be 32 Unless he Unless the plan is for him to play till he’s 40 This is his contract This is his time I appreciate your comments Here’s why defense massive defensive tackle late pick Justin Rogers Here’s why we decided to go with Yeah And and Steve I’m with you Fan favorite He was yet another guy that fans thought he’s young he’s huge and great God almighty do we need somebody around here to stop the run at defensive tackle You know what’s here’s my prediction It’s it’s happening again now with UCLA nose guard We We love him Jake Toy we are now fan favorite like you know fan favorite like Roger Stach No no I’m not saying that I’m just saying Cowboys Nation is so hungry for a runto stopping defensive tackle We want so badly for it to happen that every time one rolls into town we take out the Bill Parcell’s anointing oil That’s an old Catholic thing You can look it up By the way they also they say goodbye to Justin They say hello to Perion Winfrey who has UFFL playmaking experience He’s a he’s a credentialed UFL player For what that’s worth once upon a time a fourth round pick So um uh more skins on the wall than Justin Rogers was ever able to assemble here Item five at Sports Illustrated who says they’re doing a good bad and the ugly And they say I’m paraphrasing everything about the George Pickins thing is ugly Diddly diddly dink What Let’s review The pick they gave for him was fair Maybe for the Cowboys more than fair The salary versus the production that he’s already proven to give you is a steal So the SI piece is talking about how the Cowboys could end up with nothing here And I’m and I’m I’m going “No no they’ll there’s a comp pick They’ll get a comp pick.” And this piece covers that by saying the Cowboys could screw up the compic formula No but by by and you know how this part works I think sign more guys have the number not add up and the number of guys in and number of guys out and because you only get four compacts max How the you think the Cowboys are going to screw that up How are the copies going to screw that up That this team uh understands the comp pick system as well as anybody and relies on it almost over relies on it Now they’re not going to screw up the compact formula So I I guess the worst case sit scenario is they pay him very little It’s a complete bust They’ve given up a three This is possible And then he goes and signs somewhere else and they don’t get a comp pick three back That would be a worst case scenario You think George who thinks George Pickkins is going to have a terrible year statistical statistically Like nobody Um by the way Willie and anybody else you’re it’s it’s if you want to come back come on here and say Dax’s no good or Shottenheimer’s no good or Fish is no good you can do that You cannot be redundant It bores the audience If you want to bring something clever and original to the table even if it’s negative and even if it’s make it funny and you get to stay here forever deal Uh somebody asked about uh Bazooka Joe’s mobility The answer is yes Allan let’s not confuse ability with reliability We’re going to get to um the nut graph as we used to call it in journalism when it comes to the Steelers Aaron Rogers and George Pickkins in a moment Item six NFL.com doing a study predicts that CD Lamb has a good chance of breaking the NFL regular season reception record Michael Thomas course in New Orleans 149 catches And I’m I’m I’m trying to I’m kind of squinting and envisioning is how many does George get GP3 How many catches does he get What about the tight end What if you play the other tight end What about throwing the ball especially eventually to blue Are there enough balls to go around to allow that to happen This much is true And what Jefferson does in Minnesota is very special what Chase does uh in Cincinnati very special This guy is in that conversation This guy’s he’s he’s he might not be better than that or better than that He’s in that club CD Lamb So much so that the other day when we did our Cowboys Mount Rushmore of wide receivers CD Lamb gets mentioned retro Maybe it would be 149 if Pickkins wasn’t here but why force that many passes to CD Lamb And I think that’s a legitimate point The beauty of what we think is unfolding here is CD Lamb’s not going to gripe if instead of getting you know 110 he gets 95 because George is over here getting his That’s the beauty of where I think they’re going The beauty of where they think they’re going Timothy Arnold uh with a great point to counter this suggestion What about Shotti’s promise to run the ball and that comes into that number again How how do you get that big number and that guy’s number and that guy’s number and that guy’s number All I know is I’ve been covering the Cowboys for 30 almost I guess we’re going on 36 years the NFL for 41 What And I don’t know that I’ve heard a coach yet say anything but some variation of “Boy this year we’re going to really run the ball.” It’s funny and I’m not taking anything of Shotti when he talks about physicality I I believe it I believe he’s committed to it They They’ve made moves that are committed to it But McCarthy wasn’t interested in physicality He absolutely was McCarthy is the one that pounded the table a couple years ago and said after San Francisco pushed him around said we have to get bigger and meaner and they made efforts to do that So there’s not very many coaches Timothy your your point’s good and your guys’ point is good Not very many coaches who don’t want to be big and physical uh and control things with the running game and then the game actually unfolds and then we see what really happens Last year’s Cowboys wanted to be a good running team and were committed to it till they you know weren’t very good at it Item seven uh Pete Prrisco does a national CBS thing Does his top 100 players every year Uh respected guy respected list You’re either going to love this or hate this Last year I believe he had Dak at number 49 Dak has dropped a lot of spots He’s at 90 now He’s the 90th best player in the NFL but he’s still a top 10 quarterback on this list And I think there’s only there might only be 11 quarterbacks on the list And Jordan Love is number 11 And I’m not arguing one way or the other first of all because it’s subjective to the point of almost being arbitrary He’s the 49th No he’s not He’s the 90th He’s the 10th best quarterback No he’s not He’s the 11th My one thing about Dak versus Jordan Love not that that’s how the game is played but my biggest thing that I can’t get out of my head when it comes to Dak versus Jordan Love is the last time I saw the two of them play against each other in a game that mattered nobody on the Cowboys roster was better than anybody on the Packers roster Nobody Steve By the end of 25 Dak will be a top five quarterback in the NFL If they win enough games he might just be recognized as such Um but Lamar Josh Allen Patrick Mahomes There’s three there There’s three that are hard to dispute Joe Burrow Dax’s going to be better than So So put those three on a shelf of their own Dax’s going to be better than Joe Burrow Who else Yeah I I It’s a tough little club isn’t it So let’s make Joe Let’s put Joe Burrow there is four Um let’s go to Washington Dax’s going to be better than Jaden Daniels There’s five So maybe there’s not It’s not like oh my gosh there’s no way for Dak to be better than CJ Strad Sure he can Uh that’s the same as Gino No he’s not So Dak Prescott a contender to be considered a top five quarterback in the regular season Yeah I’ll buy that And of course as Jim Loss points out a healthy Dak Prescott They they they win games in this division They don’t have a big problem Jaylen Hurst needs to be on this list but they don’t have a big problem with Jaylen Hurst in this division They don’t have a big problem with the commanders in this division although the commanders are doing some nice work to change that So uh Dak a contender to be thought of as a top five quarterback in the 2025 NFL regular season Sure And then as Roger S points out and then what about the next game after that Son of John $10 pitching fish Has there ever been historically a quarterback that was so hated polarizing and heavily debated like that Not in my memory And some may bring up Tony Romo but not like this I don’t think Tony Romo and again we’re talking about sports hate mostly Mostly I don’t think Tony Romo was ever hated He was loved and he was can’t do enough and he was his team let him down and he was boy he’s exciting but son of John your your point is outstanding give me another quarterback who some people think he’s like a top five quarterback and other people think I don’t know if he’s in the top 25 and I hate him by the way uh Alen Right Says Terry Bradshaw after four Super Bowls Son of John Fish the rest of the question Oh okay Oh and heavily debated besides Dak that the next season made it to a championship in Super Bowl Well first of all I answered the question John Senator John John Jr because I’m saying there has there’s I don’t know of anybody that’s been this polarizing at the quarterback position So therefore since there’s nobody this polarizing there’s nobody who is then this polarizing and then won a Super Bowl the next year or or a conference championship game We can throw some names around here Um that that quarterback who never quite got over the hump Fran Tarkin Fran Tarkin was controversial in a sense Comes in the league in 1960 and he’s this little running quarterback and Norm Van Brocken is his coach traditional outstanding pocket passer going “Quit running around Just run my plays.” And then Fran Tarkin they trade him away to the Giants realize their mistake reacquire him and Fran Tarkin goes to three Super Bowls and so and and then went back So there’s a polarizing figure He’s also in the Hall of Fame Dak Prescott’s not on that uh trajectory I think we can agree Robert Pollson Ryan Leaf was polarizing before the draft but of course once he started playing we all saw that he wasn’t going to be Pton Manning BTing what about John Elway Uh I covered John Elway in his rookie year That was my first year And if memory serves John Elway as a rookie won 10 games I think they went I think 10 and four Does that sound right as a rookie So I never and I covered them for four years I never got the sense I appreciate your your uh contribution All you got to do is look at him There’s nothing I’ll take that guy Arguably the best athlete to ever play the quarterback position if you count football athleticism as part of it A runner a thrower big strong smart John Elway as as good a prospect as there’s ever been and in the end maybe as good a player as there ever been So I would not put him on that list because he won games as a rookie A lot of them Jangly $10 pitch into the super chat Fish I have a theory that they’re saving the current $30 million cap room for cornerback Seeing what they got Seeing if it’s just Jags See if they can get a real number one Remember and I what is it 32 or something right now Remember and they’ve paid all the rookies except easy So that’s set They’ll they they’ll keep a pool and I’m going to say $10 million Kind of a slush fund So let’s make it 20 million but then they sign Micah That gives them an extra $10 million of the room I got a better idea Not that yours is a bad one If you’re sitting there in September with $30 million with let me let’s do it again 30 plus Micah 40 You have $40 million in cap room Maybe I don’t need to go sign Asante Samuel helpful as that would be maybe that’s when I go to Tyler Smith Brandon Aubrey Don Bland and I’m leaving out somebody and go “Let’s go.” Uh and George Pickkins and go chop chop Let’s do it now Let’s do it today I’d rather have uh Tyler Smith signed long term than have Asante Samuel Agreed Agreed Item eight Uh Jeremy Fowler whatever ESPN says the Steelers dumping George Pickkins was largely because they anticipated that he wouldn’t quote he wouldn’t hit it off with old stinky Aaron Rogers And whether you think this is a good idea or a bad idea I’m telling you Steelers the the Jets just experienced it You’re letting Aaron Rodgers be your assistant general manager That’s a bad idea He’s not good at it The last team that he served as the assistant general manager of just went five and 12 I don’t know how they know I mean it’s funny Aaron Rogers First of all there’s a lot of guys that don’t get along with Aaron Rogers But Aaron Rogers and Pickins can’t get along They don’t even know each other But Dak and Pickkins can get along Why Hopefully for Cowboy fans sake Um the Steelers badly miscalculated here How about that Item nine This is bad news Pro Football Focus And we don’t have to put all our stock into what they say They do their best They rank the running back rooms in the NFL And the Cowboys running back room ranks number 32 Wonk won And if you’re new to football there’s only 32 teams in the NFL They think the Cowboys running back room is the worst in the NFL And so if you’re if you’ve been of the opinion I don’t think it’s very good fish Now you have ammunition Um who changes it Javvante could Sanders could And blue kind of needs to It’s hard for pro football They they can look at Javvante and what he did in Denver and go They can look at Miles Sanders and what he’s done lately and go me They can’t look at Jayon Blue They haven’t seen him yet So 32 with a bullet And finally item 10 And I appreciate you guys uh this week holding down the fort And cowboyscountry.com We need you And I’m not kidding around Marsha’s got light bills to pay around here The Lakers just sold the Bus family just sold the Lakers for10 billion and the next natural question not just to Cowboy fans but in the sports world if the Lakers God bless them are worth 10 billion we’ve been saying for a couple years oh the Cowboys are worth 10 billion If a basketball team as special as it is as a franchise is worth 10 billion what are the Cowboys worth now Fortunately or unfortunately depending on how you look at it let’s do the unfortunately Unfortunately Jerry Jones haters what are the Cowboys worth What do the Cowboys sell for You’re never going to find out TGIF Thank god it’s Friday Thank god it’s fish And uh thank you for hanging out with us Marsha and I are back and glad to be back in town with you We’ll be all over the Cowboys of course here on the Fish Report and at cowboyscountry.com Fish out

  1. The ONLY REASON Dak gets the level of hate he does is the money he has commanded. Anyone who doesnt understand or believe that is a fool.
You cant be the highest paid player in tbe entire league and perform like he does and NOT expect to get the burner on your ass. Just like his 40 mill a year deal that burnt him too and most people didnt like it

  2. Fish you gotta tell them while you’re LIVE!!- to exit out of the chat, SMASH that LIKE button, and get your ass right back in the chat!

  3. just cant quit saying spann ford british style lol, I cant like a video with that in it.
I want to like your videos, but cant till you stop doing that.

  4. I really hope that this big change up takes care of the cowboys woes of not winning any playoff games and championships. If dallas can beat the Chiefs and the Eagles in the regular season games, they will have a good chance.

  5. 17 games.
    About 80 plays per game.
    Average 40:offensive plays per game.
    40:x 17= 680 offensive plays per year.
149 catches = about 22% of total plays.
22% of 40 plays = about 9 catches per game

  6. Another Dallas QB who really got the short end of the stick due to his situation of replacing a God of Football…..Danny White, always competitive with a team that was aging out, as well as a Head Coach who was phasing out. Dealt with a lot of hate, but kept his head up. I mean the dude was getting death threats for God's sake.

  7. Sorry fish I slightly disagree I believe with the shape that dak is it now gives them a little evasive action going on which could be the difference
