New York Giants | 4 RED HOT TAKES For The 2025 NFL Season

talk about my four hot takes for the New York Giants and I always love doing hot takes because hot takes are takes that are you know they’re not likely to happen but I can’t wait for people to come back to this video and go “Oh bad dog that aged like milk.” Because of course I have a lot of takes that age like milk i also have believe it or not takes that age like fine wine like I have at 50 years old i’m just playing around but let’s talk about these hot takes uh for a second my first hot take about the New York Giants and I’ve talked about this on Giants Collective uh my first hot take uh is Russell Wilson if Russell Wilson stays healthy and plays the entire season I’m not talking about you know getting sat uh by you know for Jackson Dart here uh in week 14 or whatever if he plays all 17 games he’s going to throw for more than 30 touchdowns i just have a feeling the Giants wide receiving core is pretty good uh you got Malik Neighbors you got Darius Sllayton you got Wu Juanell Robinson who had 93 catches you got Theo Johnson who I believe has a lot of talent russell Wilson is a guy that throws the ball deep he’s not afraid to take shots and I just feel like this offense is going to be better uh than it’s been the last six years is it going to be an elite offense absolutely not i’m not saying that one bit but I do believe Russell Wilson has a lot of weapons at his disposal he’s a cerebral quarterback he has a ton of confidence and I truly believe that Russell Wilson can easily throw for 30 touchdowns that’s not even two touchdowns a game on average there’s no reason to think that the man can’t throw for 30 touchdowns this year uh if he is healthy and plays all 17 games and that’s my first hot take russell Wilson 30 plus passing touchdowns for the New York Giants hot take number two Darius Sllayton darius Sllayton’s careerhigh in receiving yards I believe is 770 he’s had a couple years where he’s had over 700 receiving yards his rookie season with Daniel Jones it looked like they had a really good report he had eight receiving touchdowns and Darius Sllayton in my opinion is one of the most underrated perhaps most underappreciated New York Giants out there and I’ll be honest even myself I’ve probably underappreciated or taken Darius Sllayton for granted i know he’s had some drop problems but the man is a consmate professional he is a team first guy he’s taken pay cuts to stay with the New York Giants he’s dealt with a lot of crap and let’s face it Russell Wilson is going to be the best quarterback that this man has had throwing him the football his entire career and with Malik Neighbors commanding a ton of attention on the other side Darius Sllayton hot take here 1,000 yards receiving that’s right i feel like Darius Sllayton has been underutilized as a deep threat he can go over the middle he can run all kinds of different routes and again a lot of people forget that coming out of Auburn he ran a 43940 when Tyrod Taylor was throwing the football I believe it was 2023 he had a lot of deep receptions for touchdowns especially against Eagles he had a couple big plays against the Eagles i see a lot more big plays for Darius Sllayton this year and I feel like Darius Sllayton is going to have a career season 1,000 receiving yards for Darius Sllayton is hot take number two and again all these hot takes are assuming that the guys play all 17 games and that they’re not injured okay so if he you know god forbid something happens to Russ or to Darius Sllayton I mean obviously that’s not going to happen but everything that I’m talking about here is if you know they stay healthy so Darius Sllayton I feel is going to have a monster season i feel it’s about time he’s going to have a breakout year i feel like he’s going to be overlooked by a lot of people like I said especially Malik Neighbors commanding that attention and guys like Juan Delale Robinson guys like Theo Johnson i just feel like Daryl Sllayton’s going to get a lot of one-on-one matchups i feel he can win those matchups and I feel like Russell Wilson is a guy that can take advantage of those one-on-one matchups darius Sllayton’s going to have a thousand yards receiving and that’s hot take number two hot take number three and this is a big one and I know that people are gonna hate on it but the New York Giants are going to finish ahead of the Dallas Cowboys in the NFC East that’s right i’m saying it right now the Giants are going to finish ahead of the Cowboys does that mean we finish second in the division the Cowboys finish third does that mean we finish third and the Cowboys finish fourth the Giants are going to finish ahead of the Cowboys i’m sorry maybe I’m crazy i probably am a little bit crazy but this is a huge hot take for me i feel like Dallas kind of coming back to the pack a little bit i don’t feel like they’re as good as they’ve been in previous years i feel like the Giants are a lot better than they’ve been in previous years and I know we have a very tough schedule but you know what dallas has a tough schedule too it’s not like they don’t play a lot of the same teams that we do they play the AFC West they play the NFC North they also have a very tough division they get to play the Eagles they get to play the Commanders now I know they can say that we’re better they’re better than the Giants they probably are better than us uh in some aspects but I feel that we’re better than them in some aspects and I do feel like the Giants are going to beat the Cowboys this season i’m not saying we’re going to sweep them but they’re not sweeping us and I really truly believe that the Giants are going to get stronger as the year progresses because our season starts off very tough and it gets a little bit easier i feel like Dallas is going to regress as the season goes along i feel like our offense is a lot better than it’s been i feel like our defense is going to be special and because of everything that’s combined here I feel like the Giants have such low expectations meanwhile the Cowboys always have high expectations and I just feel like this is the year that the Dallas Cowboys finally you know everything comes to a fruition for them and they just end up behind the New York Giants i feel like we’re going in complete opposite directions and the New York Giants are going to finish ahead of the Cowboys in the NFC East that’s right i’m saying it right now house so like I said you can come back oh it’s like milk maybe it will but these are hot takes baby that’s what hot takes are made to do hot take number four the New York Giants will lead the league in sacks uh this season in the NFL the Giants were leading the league in sacks for a few weeks at the beginning of the year last year without the elite defense that they have this year at least on paper you look at the New York Giants defense and it is scary this secondary is vastly improved you expect Juke Phillips to take a step forward you expect Tyler Nuben to take a step forward you add Javon Holland one of the best free agent safeties on the market but he was the best free agent safety on the market you’ve improved your uh offense or I’m sorry you improved your secondary so much and you also added Paul Adibbo to the other side of Deontay Banks you just think the New York Giants secondary is so much better than it was last year and then you look at the front seven you look at a guy like Brian Burns who played you know banged up all last year he was monumental uh he had a great season he started off slow he had a great season dexter Lawrence missed five games kayon Thibido missed five games bobby O’ Carrick is a great linebacker mike McFad take a step forward the Giants are top 10 in league in sacks last year with injuries with a bad secondary and and um they’re still up there without a team that blitzes a lot the secondary is going to make the quarterback hold on to the ball longer the front seven now adds Abdul Carter the best player in the draft this season he is special his speed his agility his pass rush moves it is going to be insane to watch a New York Giants defense you also had a Darius Alexander who could play next to Dexter Lawrence if these guys are healthy there’s no reason to think that they can’t lead the league in sacks cuz who are you going to double team are you going to double team Dex and leave one-on-one with Abdul Carter you’re going to double team Abdul Carter you going to leave Kavon Diba one-on-one you going to leave Brian Burns one-on-one you can move Abdul Carter all over the field he can come from any freaking direction this Giants defense with the addition of the secondary help that’s going to make the quarterback hold on to the ball a little bit longer and a pass rush on paper that is just absolutely insane there is no reason to believe that the New York Giants can’t lead the league in sacks i believe they’re going to lead the league in sacks and listen the Giants are going to be a lot better than people want to give them credit for like I said this is June i feel good talk to me in October maybe a totally different scenario however these are my four hot takes uh for the New York Giants in the 2025 season let me know what you think in the comments section below if you guys have a hot take put it in the
