what’s going on everyone chris from pickdogs.com here the free pick in the San Diego Padres’s versus Washington Nationals major League Baseball matchup going down Tuesday June 24th 2025 just a reminder if you haven’t already make sure you subscribe to our channel and smash that thumbs up and if you’re looking for my best bets the games that I love head to pickdogs.com click the experts tab at the top of the page it’s a great time to do so because we have a lot of action lined up for the week ahead we’ve got Major League Baseball on the board we’ve got WNBA action too so make sure that you jump on board remember to use the promo code pick at checkout and get 15% off your purchase and uh we also hit our goal of 250,000 subscribers here on our YouTube channel i appreciate each and every one of you that helped us get to where we are today uh and if you haven’t hit that subscribe button by now please do so and if you have and you’re new to our channel welcome i can assure you we are going to be making you some money that way and um we’ve also got products for those who make big bets and for those with big bank rolls those looking for more of a VIP experience where you’re going to get things like late alert plays closer to game time or we’re going to track line movement for you try to get you the best possible number compared to the closing line so if that sounds like something that you’re interested in text the number on the screen for more information and let’s find out if it’s right for you but let’s get to this one between the San Diego Padres’s and the Washington Nationals for the San Diego Padres’s it’s Ryan Burger listed as the starter in this one while the Nationals will counter with Trevor Williams and you know Williams has been a hard pitcher for me to figure out this season he’s not the profit machine that he was last year he has started to pitch a little bit better in some of his recent starts but you look at some of the outings that he’s had and say “Well you know why isn’t he getting the wins?” I mean six innings of three-run ball or sorry three hit shutout ball against the Mariners got the win there but four and a third innings of three-run ball two earned against the Rangers a loss uh five and a third innings of two-run ball against the Marlins a loss and then five and five and a third innings two-run ball against the Rockies a win in extra innings but I’ll tell you a lot of it has to do with the fact that you know Williams just not getting enough run support to get up and over the hump and I don’t know if that’s going to help here either you know if it is Burger that gets the starter here I have seen a couple of places where he’s you know not necessarily the starter is TBD but I have seen a couple spots say that Burger is going here either way this is still a solid Padres’s pitching lineup that you know has had its fair share of issues out of the bullpen but I’ll tell you the Nationals have as well and for me it’s just I don’t I don’t view Trevor Williams as a viable starting pitching option or at least a consistent one to where I want to take a shot on him here i think I would need a little bit more plus money to be able to back Trevor Williams in a spot like this i think the Padres’s have a more potent lineup here when you look at the the Nationals against right-handed pitching in the last uh two weeks again if it is Burger or righty the uh the Nationals are hitting just 239 you know their Babip is bottom 10 in baseball the isolated uh isolated power numbers are bottom 10 team OPS numbers are bottom 10 so like I said there’s really not a whole lot to like here except for the fact they don’t have a high strikeout rate 16.4% and actually tied for the best in baseball so that’s the only silver lining I have here with the Nationals the Padres’s though are in the same boat they’re uh their strikeout rate is only one percentage point higher at 17.4% they’re hitting 283 that’s top 10 just outside the top five their team OPS numbers are top 10 their isolated power numbers are are solid so I think that the Padres’s are just a better lineup here and I trust them to get to Williams i trust them to get to this Nationals bullpen so I’m going to roll with the Padres’s in this one and that’s going to be my free pick but just a reminder if you haven’t already make sure you subscribe to our channel and smash that thumbs up and if you’re looking for my best bets you can find those at Pick Dogs Premium while you’re at Pick Dogs check out our betting tools they’re 100% free they’re the best betting tools in the business and tools that you want to make sure that you have in your back pocket when you’re making your best bets for the day’s action thanks for watching see you guys soon
