The Hagens to Isles propaganda starts at 5min mark. Not with the 1OA but I really hope the islanders jump up for a second pick. Never seen a prospect so openly campaign for a certain team lol

  1. I am in the process of filing a class-action lawsuit against the NHL for emotional damage due to them choosing to include the Bring Hagens Home segment. If we know the Isles aren’t doing this (if they were, we would have gotten some word, any word of this by now) then why even bring it up just to shut it down?

  2. I’m REALLY hoping we find a way to trade for another pick and get this guy

  3. We shouldn’t trade up for him. Let him develop wherever he goes then by the time he is a UFA he can sign here and pull a Tavares

  4. What a coup it would be for a new GM to get Schaeffer and Hagens at the draft. The start of a new era of Islanders hockey! A new attitude, and a new day.

Fingers, toes, and everything else crossed we find a way to make this happen.

  5. I know Spittin Chiclets isn’t this community’s thing but their interview with James Hagen and his father makes me really want to get the rumored 7th pick trade with the bruins done and draft him. He seems like he’s got a great head on his shoulder and has an incredible work ethic. Ritchie, Eiserman, Schaeffer, and Hagens suddenly our prospect pool doesn’t seem too shabby.

  6. I don’t want to be Debbie downer, but the odds of us pulling this off aren’t great.

Schaefer is the pick at #1. Forcing a team to trade us the pick for Hagens is going to cost a ton and Darche might not have the stomach for it.

If you think you’re getting this pick for Pageau and a #1, you’re nuts.

It’s going to cost Dobson. I don’t even see any other way to acquire it without including him unless we trade Eiserman and Ritchie.

Teams will have us completely over the barrel.

You basically have to offer them next year’s 1 unprotected, Colorado’s #1 we got for Brock and then probably a player they want.

    Or Dobson.

Romanov, Holmstrom don’t get this done.

I know the fanbase (at least part of us) would be thrilled to turn Dobson into this kid. Ticket sales would go through the roof and the Islanders owners would be thrilled.

But it’s going to hurt if it happens and Darche and the owners are going to have to decide how much they are willing to get hosed here.

If he makes it to 4, Utah can basically ask for Dobson and then what do you do?

  7. Darche needs to do what’s best for the Islanders and not what’s best for Hagens and he knows that.
