[LeBrun] Hearing CBJ trading for Charlie Coyle from Colorado

  1. Maybe a move to help cover for losing silly and/or kuraly to trade and FA respectively?

  2. also, do we even have local media/insiders anymore aside from Portzline adding in details of a trade after it’s broken by someone else?

    does Brian Hedger exist anymore?

  3. 3rd line center. It does kind of make you wonder if Sillinger is getting packaged for something.

  4. I’m assuming this is in anticipation of losing a center… or just Kuraly replacement

  5. I don’t hate it! Veteran presence. Hasn’t missed a game in the last four seasons. Playoff experience. Scored at least 16 goals in 5 of the last 6 seasons. Damn near perfect 3C.

  6. Waiting to hear what we sent but I like this move and we still have time before the draft….trusting Don

  7. Friend sent it to me and I initially interpreted it as Charlie Mcavoy 😂. Was like I’m so glad it’s Friday! Ohh, it’s Wed lol

  8. My perception of this trade is 100% dependent on what is leaving. I’m not exciting about losing a favorite, but at the same time every player is a favorite for me so I’m not sure what trade I would like to see.

  9. Good depth player but not quite what I was hoping for but you’ll take it hopefully he can come in and be veteran presence and win some faceoffs on the 3rd/4th line. Pair him with Olivier and see what happens.

  10. This entirely depends on what we send over there and what we have to lose.

If we send a couple of picks, whatever. If we have to lose Kuraly, that’s fine.

Getting rid of Sillinger would be a MASSIVE mistake, imo.

  11. I’m actually pretty into Coyle.

You go Voronkov / Coyle / Sillinger on your 3rd forward line and we’re making many teams quite uncomfortable.

  12. Portzline just reported he heard it was for 2 drafts picks (not 1st round) and a prospect.

  13. Was surprised to see Charlie Coyle has a full no movement clause, to any team. So if he comes here he explicitly signed off on the deal. I think it would be for a mid round draft pick. Colorado is up against the cap and probably doesn’t want salary back.

  14. I hope I eat my words later on because this is a god fucking awful trade holy shit

  15. An average middle 6 center and bad contract for a second third and Brindley is nuts

  16. Eh, I liked Brindley, but I’m not upset about losing him. Pretty happy with the trade I think.

  17. Huh, I dunno. The picks are whatever, I don’t know how to feel about Brindley

  18. Charlie Coyle and Miles Wood to Columbus for:
    2nd 2027 3rd (2025), and Gavin Brindley

  19. I like it. Coyle is an excellent 3C, Wood is literally one of the fastest skaters in the league, elite grinder. Having him on one like and Oli on another is sick. Or we could put all three of them on one line and grind dudes into dust.

The picks I don’t care about. I was hyped about Brindley when we got him, but he had a really disappointing year in Cleveland. He was relegated to the fourth line and didn’t really play in the playoffs. He’s is trending more towards a third line energy guy that a top six winger, so I’m fine trading him while t teams think his value is still really high.
