SHOCKING Rangers Trade Update… NEW Report Reveals WILD Details | NYR New

we have multiple surprising New York Rangers updates to go over today as the NHL entry draft is here The New York Rangers have multiple moves to make multiple decisions to make and we’re going to break down what insiders are saying about the Rangers heading into draft weekend and free agency next week because some of the details and insight that we’ve gotten over the last 24 hours is mind-boggling We’re going to break it all down in this episode of Rangers Digest But before we do that a quick reminder to hit that subscribe button about 77% of you who watch these videos are not subscribed to the channel So if you want to stay up to date with everything that’s happening with your New York Rangers especially through the next week or so it’s going to be a very busy time Go down below hit that free subscribe button because this is the place to be for all your daily New York Rangers content But Brett there’s a lot of updates to get to today because a lot is going to happen at tonight’s NHL entry draft and over the course of the weekend as well We have I wanted to start with this that Molly Walker is now saying that she believes with Kandre Miller seemingly at least at this point because there is you know the doors you know cracked open a little bit for him to stay in terms of a one-year contract extension but seemingly with him out the door that Braden Schneider will be taking over on the left side You talked about this recently you know last week We talked about it in the live stream as well How do you feel about that first of all we have some other stuff to get to in terms of Keandre Miller and a wild tweet that we’re going to break down in terms of a trade that the Rangers are going to make But uh how do you feel about that
yeah what we’re going to get into later on in this video was absolutely mind-boggling I did not expect to see that uh here on vacation but when I told you I said I I can’t wait to chop up about what we’re going to talk about But to break down the Keandre Miller situation real quick um Braden Schneider like you said I’ve been speaking about this for a while I believe that he can play on that left side and he would be a great compliment to pair with Adam Fox because you know Braden Schneider does have offensive upside for sure but I would stick him on that left side and strictly focus on defense Strictly focus on adjusting from the right to the left Don’t worry about as much contributing on the offensive end because if you stick him on that first pair with Adam Fox you have plenty of offensive production there from your first line defenseman And like I said Schneider can contribute on the offensive end but I I would strictly focus on making him that enforcer really giving him even more ice time this season And like I said the the jury is still out on Schneider He’s not like this unflawed player He does have some flaws but I definitely like his upside and I would love to keep him here as a Ranger Like I said he’s not a perfect player the giveaway to takeaway ratio ratio I’d like to see it cleaned up a little bit here but strictly focus on being an enforcer on that first line with Adam Fox And I think that would be great because you know Adam Fox’s body’s taking a beating It feels like his body takes a beating every season It would be nice to have a guy like Braden Schneider next to him just given you know taking some of that workload off his plate So I would absolutely love to see it It’s a lowrisk move especially if you start it early You don’t want to start it you know when the season has already started You want to start it like right now get him used to it So I would love to see that happen He’s on a friendly contract Why not you know see how versatile he really is before you look into extending him
absolutely Yeah Only making 2.2 million and we know that he can play big minutes and you know like you’ve been alluding to you know putting him with Fox up there wouldn’t be the worst thing I mean he’s a he’s a tough player He is really tough to play against I feel like And uh obviously he’s going to be fully healthy going into next season as well Obviously dealing with that shoulder injury the last two seasons He can play through it but obviously you know you’re not 100% healthy so he’s going to be feeling better next year Now we’re going to get into some more KAR Miller stuff in a second but I wanted to bring this up because there is so much going on and I feel like the Rangers and Chris are going to do something crazy this weekend Whether it is tonight at the draft round one whether it’s tomorrow during rounds 2 to 7 there was this tweet and again I mean no validity to it really right but um you know it does have 9,000 followers and of course sometimes gets some things right But uh they went out to say that expect the Rangers to trade Zabanagad over the weekend They are going all in on Marner as well and Mner could be interested as it’s closer to home Now we haven’t heard the Rangers uh mentioned at all in terms of Mitch Mner’s list and destinations that he’d like to go But of course they do have the cab space I flashed it up there a little while ago The Rangers could technically make it work with 13 million if they wanted to move out another player but you still have to sign Will Like there’s a lot of moves still to make So I don’t know if that makes too much sense but you have a lot of salary cap space if you move out 8.5 million in Mika Zabanaget So how do you feel about this tweet again this is not an insider saying this but could you see something crazy like this happening this weekend oh my gosh if the Rangers brought Magic Mitch to Madison Square Garden it would be absolutely insane And you know like Darius just said we’re not claiming this to be Elliot Freedman or Frank Sarah or anything like that but we are going to acknowledge the tweet It does have 9,000 followers and he has gotten a few things right here So we’re going to briefly just discuss it and have some fun with it on this fun Friday But Mitch Mner on the Rangers would be a dream come true If you look at him on that first line imagine him with JT Miller at center and Arti Paneran on the left wing I mean that would have to be probably the most entertaining line in the NHL I don’t know if it would be like you know the most it would be definitely top 10 in production in the NHL in my prediction uh in my opinion but it would certainly be the most entertaining line in the NHL Just imagine our Tammy Paneran’s playmaking and finesse along with JT Miller’s physicality and the way he pushes the pace and Mitch Mner just as opportunistic a scorer as there is And I love how him and Paneran are both very good goal scorers I would consider Paneran an elite goal scorer Mitch Mner’s right up there as well But I love how they score in different ways And I would just love to see those two finesse players on the opposite wings with JT Miller anchoring it up the middle It would just be something special and I would love to see it And then we talk about next year’s free agency I know this all sounds wild but as you just said Darius is if Mika Zabanagad that’s a lot of money I know people look at Mika Aanagad and the production hasn’t been there as of late on the decline these last three years here So when you think of Mika’s Aanad you know you don’t immediately think of wow like this guy’s making $8.5 million You think like you know for his production he’s probably making like56 million But no guys this is a guy making nearly $9 million So if you move him that is a monumental trade It opens up so many possibilities It opens up so much cap space And Darius and I have been in lock step doesn’t look like Zabanagad will be moved but with Chris Drury anything is possible There have at least been some discussions about Mika Zabanagad being moved but of course until he waves that no trade clause you know nothing can be done But like you said with Chris Drury anything is possible And that first line of Marner JT Paneran would be sick And then next year in free agency oh my gosh I mean Panaran comes off the books and then you could bring in another star to pair with Mner I think you guys all know who I’m talking about there That would be absolutely insane But uh yeah this is just great great to talk about on a Friday and not impossible Definitely not impossible
No not impossible at this point And again it’s not looking likely I have it up here on screen as you can see here that Mikasan has said he doesn’t want to move from the New York Rangers He wants to play with the Rangers But as we all know with contracts that are you know that have no movement clauses when it comes to Chris Jury I’ll echo what you said Anything is possible I’ll just put it at that But we’ll move on to some other interesting stuff and I wanted to get into this that you know it looks like they’re trying to trade Keandre Miller right ahead of the draft and obviously when we say ahead of the draft it’s happening tonight so it’ have to happen pretty quickly and I don’t think that’s going to happen but they’re trying to trade Keandre Miller before July 1st and the whole plan here is to trade Keandre Miller to then bring in Vladislav Gaov and then I would imagine play Braden Schneider on the left side on the second pairing which is can be very interesting I’m sure they’re going to play with the defensive pairings We don’t know exactly what they’re going to look like yet And they have a lot to do in terms of the offense too Like trading advantage in a perfect world would actually make a lot of sense at this point in time because of the way that the roster looks But um that’s the whole plan right now And that doesn’t sound like much of a plan to me Brett I mean like as the days go on here and the fact that things are kind of you know dragging into the draft in July 1st they haven’t signed Will yet That’s a little concerning You know the whole plan here is to move out one defenseman that seemingly they’re having a hard time doing because there’s no real serious offers for Gaov And I will maintain myself personally that Gavricov could be a really good move for the team at least in the immediate But you know if that’s your whole plan and the fact that Gabricov might resign in LA that doesn’t sound like much of a plan to me And we’re running out of time We have just until Tuesday to get this going Yeah just until Tuesday Darius And I could see both sides You know I certainly see your side Everybody here on the channel knows where I stand on Gabricov but I certainly see your side when it comes to Gabricov as well I’m not going to act like you know I’ve repeatedly said this this is a good player best defenseman on the market in my in my opinion Better than Eblad better than Prover So if the Rangers were to bring in one of those guys you know Pro uh Gabricov would be a nice fit And it makes sense in the immediate because you know you stick him on that top line play lefty with Adam Fox And I mentioned Braden Schneider You know I said you could stick him on that first line with Adam Fox Could be that enforcer but what you just said makes more sense Darius Put him on that second line especially when you’re adjusting from right to left Sticking sticking him on that second line makes more sense and makes it more of an easier adjustment for Braden Schneider And like I said he could give you some offensive upside on that second line as well Braden Schneider Cam we’ve seen him make improvements year in and year out not like drastic improvements but he has gotten better and better every single season since he’s been here as a Ranger And when it comes to Gabriov you know what’s really getting interesting here Darius is that he certainly likes the Rangers It looks like he would love to be a Ranger but it looks like his priority is in Los Angeles It looks like his priority is to remain with the Kings And if that falls through then he’d like to come to the Rangers I don’t believe the Rangers are his top choice He is going to give the Los Angeles Kings every opportunity to bring him back Like I said if that falls through then I think the Rangers are his second choice And look Chris Drury is running out of time here I told you I would bring KA Miller here back on this one-year deal It would be beneficial for both parties approve it deal for Keandre Miller and the Rangers It could either solidify their thoughts on him that he’s not a consistent enough player to sign long term or if not they could get a really good year out of him and then make that decision when that time comes But I think signing him to a one-year deal at this point the draft is happening in just a few hours from now Darius at this point I think it would be beneficial for both parties to just get that one-year deal one-year deal done and then evaluate from there
And it could make sense right i mean the worst case scenario in this scenario is you bring back Yandre Miller for one more year And I mean there could be a way worse scenario out there right and I mean u we’ll see what happens And again Keandre Miller was looking for you know a long-term contract a hefty raise at the start of the season I don’t know if he earned that through his play so he might have to settle Uh because you know there is not that much interest on the trade market from everything we’re hearing And I wanted to get into one last report here uh from Vince Marco that I don’t think the New York Rangers would be opposed to trading him and he’s talking about Carson Susi but I also don’t think they would be willing to sell low on a guy that they just gave up a high third round pick for Now the way I look at this Carson Susi does not fit into this team whatsoever Uh at the time I thought okay this could be an interesting move if they were to make the playoffs but at this point in time with the salary cap structure you need that money to pay Will and then to go out and make a couple other moves if you want to really improve this team So what are your thoughts on this i mean I understand not wanting to sell low but you put yourself in this situation You need that cap room I don’t think Carson Susi can start the season on this defense court
Listen Darius I’m going to keep it short and sweet for you Chris Drury is worrying about selling low on Carson Susi Please you’re always going to be selling low on this guy because this guy stinks It’s his fault that he gave up a third round pick for Carson Susi Not our fault not the other Rangers fans fault Nobody’s fault It’s Chris Drury’s fault The guy stinks You’re always going to be selling low on Carson Susi This guy is never going to be good You’re never gonna get a first round pick for him or whatever you’re looking for Chris Jury that is an absolute fantasy an absolute pipe dream The guy stinks like I said and just get rid of him now Clear up that cap space You’re always going to be selling low on him Jury He is never going to be good We saw it with our own eyes He’s done Stinks Get him out of here
Yeah it it just didn’t work out the whole time I thought when the trade was made I was like this could be very interesting for the team Like this could actually work out And very clearly very quickly you could see that no it was not going to work out So I understand that not wanting to sell low but look at the way that your salary cap structure is currently built Look at the way that the team is currently built You have to move off that player and just give that money direct You could basically wire transfer it right to Will Coulie’s bank account if you want and that’ll be settled So uh it’s going to be interesting to see what they do Last thing I’ll bring up here from Adam as well to summarize where the New York Rangers are defensively heading into the draft because again there could be some fireworks tonight in just a few hours away from the time we’re recording this video They’re trying to trade KeAre Miller That is clear They are trying to trade him before July 1st Whether he actually resigns with the Rangers or maybe even his offer sheeted and they take the compensation you know they have a window until July 1st to get that done They’re trying to trade him in order to make room for Gavricov who may resign in LA anyway So no m not much of a plan to me personally but uh you know as the days go on it’s not looking great but uh and it’s a one or the other proposition because they’ve committed $7.5 million to Borggan and Susi Borggan I think is great You’re going to keep him He’s a great defensive defenseman option of course But uh the Susi thing is very interesting to me I think they better look at trading him But let us know how you feel in the comments This is a jam-packed one because there’s a lot going on before the draft and of course free agency But we’re going to keep you covered for everything going on here on the channel There’s also rumors that Drury might want to move up in the draft I don’t know if that’s very likely but we’ll keep you covered if anything happens

  1. Marner is going to Vegas or LA. More importantly if they’re trying to compete with Florida you need more Bennett Tkachuk players, not more perimeter players. It’s laughable that you think Gabrakov is better than Ekblad

  2. Im through with prospects. Until this franchise learns how to develop these prospects….they are a complete waste of time. Unless they can come out of the gates with an effective game, on a consistent basis……totally useless.

  3. Yeah, Marner is too 1 dimensional and soft, yes he's a great player but not the right fit IMHO. I'd be OK giving KMiller another year, especially since it looks like another season where Drury's "big moves" are going to be totally underwhelming so they may as well just see if this guy can make it work with a different coach #3 OMG, only the Rangers

  4. The New York "Aint going anywhere again" Rangers. Please sell the teams Nolan. The fans deserve it. You're setting the tradition for every 54 years. Drury is so f'n overrated

  5. After 30 plus years of cheering this team on, I’ll be rooting for the Utah Mammoth next season.

I’m so done. Drury can’t salvage this.

  6. I don’t think Soucy played well with the rangers. But all in all he was still a +2 compared to a -13 with Vancouver earlier in the year. Not to mention he was +18 and +10 with Vancouver and Seattle on two teams that made it to the second round. Is he an ideal top 4? No probably not but he can definitely bounce back. And if not eat half his salary and ship in at the deadline

  7. Come on Mitch marner is not the right person that's not what we need we need Sam Bennett we need a guy that can knock people around in front of the f**** net enough of this s*** I've had enough with 50 years of soft hockey enough for this crap

  8. Crawl back in the basement, you guys have been playing NHL whatever for too long. Your begging for subs is an indication that your “exclusives” are bullkrap.
