White Sox apologize to Ketel Marte for a fan’s comments

one of the best players in baseball got a special message from the Chicago White Socks today except he plays for the Diamondbacks it wasn’t because of his excellent play but because of something that happened to him on the field the night before catel Marte of the Diamondbacks was seen tearing up on the Diamond in a game in Chicago his teammates and coaches were consoling him as he was overwhelmed with emotion in the middle of the game but why catel Marte was the victim of a vicious act of fan abuse towards a player the Dback’s manager confirmed postgame that a fan yelled an insult directed at Marte about his mother who passed away in a car accident in 2017 the fan was immediately ejected from the game the White Socks made sure to make it up to Marte today with a message of support to apologize for one idiot’s comments

  1. Wait a minute, did the fan know about his mom being killed? Or did he just say something about his Mom and now is banned for life from all MLB ballparks?

  2. Gotta say besides that guy, you can tell Chicago white Sox fans are classy and respectful to the beautiful sport of baseball! ❤️❤❤

  3. The heckler said “hey Marte what did your mom name you after a pot?” As in his name is Ketel (kettle). The fan had no clue that Marte’s mom was dead. That guy is soft and so are all of you.

  4. Remember we are fans that wish we could play the game so just show love to the players that give us a little bit of joy in our normal life

  5. Come on man you're making a hundred million dollars and you're going to cry cuz somebody said something mean to you grow the hell up.

And everybody defending this guy just shows how weak this country really is.

  6. As fans get more and more disgruntled and violent toward players who fail their parleys this will continue to escalate. These guys are in danger.

  7. Marte has been one of my favorites since he played for Seattle. A true sportsman and a good person. Not sure how MLB or this park can enforce a “lifetime” ban, but I hope they do everything in their powers to make sure that classless 💩 of a fan does not step foot into a ballpark again.

  8. Man, I had an ex say some foul stuff about my dad that passed when I was 6, trying to elicit a reaction from me cuz she was mad. I didn't give it to her and just turned and walked away but it hurt pretty bad. She knew it would cut me deep because I was stupid enough to talk to her about it when we first got together. Hearing somebody say derogatory comments about a loved one that's not here anymore sucks. I felt this.

  9. Lame This is sad everyone when pro athletes can’t handle their emotions and we all in the future cant make any jokes about anything cause we might offend someone Fascial recognition at all ball parks F that give him a million dollar teddy bear no one sees that this is a self up problem reaction solution

  11. Ketel mentioned it impacted him worse because he was playing in Chicago when his Mother passed away. Being back brought back a lot of feelings and it was just too much when the fan disrespected his late Mother.

  12. The White Sox were classy, but they didn’t have to apologize. Just standing with that player against such abuse would have been enough. Heckling players has always been part of baseball, but it should never cross the line into abuse or insults about family. Glad MLB also brought the hammer down on that jackass. The baseball community is very giving and respectful of all good players regardless of what team they played for.
