Cardinals vs. Guardians Game Highlights (6/28/25) | MLB Highlights

game set glad you’re with us on this spectacular sub 80°ree day man is this refreshing here on the shores of Lake Erie
and big slate sone on the bump for the guards
he’s had a very good month of June as Donovan strides to the plate he’s one for four in the series and starts today’s play with a 300 average for the Cardinals sakone works out of the stretch and his first is on the way and rifle toward right center field that’s well hit that ball is gone lead off homer Brendan Donovan on the game’s first pitch and here we go in Cleveland well why let the young starter ease into it when you get yourself a cookie you eat it and that’s exactly what Donnie did drives it out for his sixth of the season way to be ready early
gives the Cardinals a one- nothing lead mason win the shortstop
sakone’s pitch and that’s hit hard up the middle of the infield a ball that goes off the glove of the shortstop arius and off Schneean a base hit as Win hit that one in the right spot and Alec with a two-run homer here last night one of his 31 hits in the month of June
swing and a miss he struck him out with a high fast really well executed by Slate Sakone for the first out here in inning number one so it’s ball four sending wind to second contrarus to first here’s Lars Nbart and delivers curveball strike three called on the inside corner
second strike out two down
nolan had a big night last night see what he can do here with two on one in two outs
the one-two pitch swung on grounded toward short arius plants throws to first in time inning is over one- nothing Redbirds in the middle of the first 16 start of the year here for Miles Michael got to feel good to have a lead that’s something that he hasn’t pitched with a ton of
juan hitless in four trips last night in the series opener and this one popped in the air toward left center wind’s got that one and so does Victor Scott the second quad flies out and one away manardo batting 293 over the last 13 ball games manzo wraps one up the Allen furless in the right fielder cuts it off and holds him to a one out single and look who’s back out with that bruised forearm last night after being drilled and he’s back hitting 317 13 homers 38 runs batted in another try one and two and he got him a swing and a miss and Michael has his first strike out menardo at first now two men down
that’ll bring up Carlos Santana
cow pitch manzardo takes off and a breaking ball a beauty after one on the Donovan home run the Cardinals lead one- nothing in Cleveland
bottom of the fourth inning kyle Manzardo will lead it off for Cleveland here’s the 10 swung on and he drills one high and deep to center will it carry back is Scott he’s at the wall leaps it’s gone a home run kyle Manzardo manzo with home run number 13 ties the game at one he had a good at bat in his first time up that’s given up two hits and both of them coming off Manzardo santana works a walk here comes Lane Thomas here’s the one two swung on line drive down the left field line fair ball and it rolls all the way to the wall racing to third is Santana he’ll be held up there as Thomas cruises into second base with a standup double and now the Guardians have it set up runners at second and third only one out for Schneean as they look to take their first lead on the day with a hard hit ball of second that’ll get the go-ahead run home 2-1 Guardians RBI number 22 on the year st thomas moves to third so two to one Cleveland jones a strikeout victim his first time up the 3-2 swung on and that’s drilled to left center it’s hit well headed toward the gap and it hits the wall bounce back into play and Jones is on his way to second as Thomas scores from third and the Guardians now lead it three to one and Jones drives in the run his 21st RBI on the season and it is a three-run uprising for the Guardians gabriel Aria steps in and Jones is now 90 ft away on his fifth stolen base here’s the 2-1 swung on and there’s a high-fly ball deep left center field way back there home run Aras and it’s the big inning for the Guardians a fiveun inning cleveland now leads it five to one on the two-run bomb from Aras austin Edges steps in lines one to right that’s a base hit
steven Quan the ninth man to bat in the inning
all it takes look at this tattooed deep right off the wall
get going man hedges around third he will score quan into third with a two out RBI triple pedes scores from first quan with a triple and it’s six to one Guardians and we’ll head to the fifth it’s six to one sakone with a fiveun lead issues a two-out walk let’s see if Mason win can move Donovan along that’s lying toward left that’s headed for the corner donnie streaks around second he’s on his way to third mason Win with an ambush job puts runners second and third that’s his 15th double and you mentioned Alec Berles this would be a perfect time for him to make things loud little flare headed to shallow left that’s going to drop and score two berles might have broken his bat but he drives in two runs with two outs and the Cardinals trim the lead to three well after ripping one 400 ft foul down the right field line he dumps one into left field so Sakone can’t get out number 15 he departs allowing three runs it’s now a 6-3 score here in game two
and as we go to the sixth inning Matt Fest stays on
two batters up two batters on and here’s Nolan Gorman who could tie the game with one swing first and third nobody out sixth inning swing shot center field that’s a runcoring hit three straight Cardinal hits make it six to four first and second nobody out the Cardinals are down by two setting up Joel Bo ground ball base hit four straight singles for the Cardinals and they’re loaded
and I would think that’s all for Fesa four straight hits it sure didn’t take long for a six to one lead to become very precarious and Tim Harrenon being summoned from the Cleveland bullpen pin the pitch to Victor Scott line down the right field line that’s a hit it’s going to score two to tie the game onto third base joel Poso Scott into second safely that didn’t take long five consecutive hits the Cardinals have noted the game second and third nobody out after five straight singles donovan scored two runs swing fly ball headed for left center lane thomas drifts back that ought to score a run victor’s going to tag and head to third the throw comes in close and safe it’s a sack fly for Donovan the Cardinals take a 76 lead mason Win has two hits today looking for an RBI here ground ball towards second there’ll be no play at the plate the Cardinals play ABC and bring home Victor Scott we go to the seventh st louis with an 8-6 advantage left-hander Kobe Allard has entered for Cleveland wilson is 0 for two plus a walk
now Allard a former Braves farm hand delivers and that’s ripped into left center field that’s going to get down and roll to the wall contras around first he’s on his way to second so there it is hit number 900 for Wilson contras a ringing double to lead off the seven
bottom of the eighth bill Mton staying on got the last out of the seventh inning
mton walking a pair giving up a base hit and a pinch hitter for Austin Hedges it was going to be Boone Naylor now it’s on Hell Martinez with the bases loaded mton’s pitch swing and a miss he struck him out and the Guardians leave the bases loaded we go to the ninth the Cardinals lead the Guardians 86 contrarus has walked and doubled today also stole third base swag drive hammer deep toward left that baby is long gone a huge insurance run homer for Contrarus a tip that right there was a thing of beauty from Contraras
oh that extra run is so helpful here in the top of the ninth inning
hopefully Ryan Helmsley put a bow on things here 29th game of the season looking for save number 16 the Cardinals are a strike away from a very impressive comeback win line to left on comes Noon he’s got it and that is your ball game helley picks up the save his 16th of the year
the Cardinals came back from a 6-1 deficit to beat the Guardians 9 to6
and the Cardinals offense again comes to the rescue after a six-run fourth inning miles Michael struggled in that inning after pitching so well in the first three

  1. MM-HMM !!!!!!!! Peeps, UNDISPUTED Manager of the Year Oliver Jose Marmol and his St. Louis Cardinals (the GREATEST team in the league) are like CM PUNK as it's CLOBBERING TIME on their opponent. The squad goes 124-38, TAKES the NL Central, MAKES the postseason once again and in four/five months (depending on when the games are in October/November), HOLDS UP an unprecedented TWELFTH World Series trophy!

Brendan Michael Donovan, SETTING THE TONE … In the top of the first inning, the 28-year-old from Würzburg, Germany, gets the offense rolling by DEMOLISHING A BOMB to right center field!

In the top of the fifth inning, Alec Michael Burleson, the 26-year-old from Charlotte, North Carolina, SMASHES an RBI single to left field, driving in Brendan Michael Donovan and Masyn Blaze Winn.

I have CHILLS ALL OVER MY BODY after that top of the sixth inning! First, Nolan Brian Gorman, the 25-year-old from Phoenix, Arizona, RIPS an RBI single to center field, bringing in Lars Taylor-Tatsuji Nootbaar. Then, Victor Dwanyne Scott II, the 24-year-old from Atlanta, Georgia, SMOKES an RBI double to right field, scoring Nolan James Arenado and No-Gor! Afterwards. Brendan Michael Donovan STAYS SCORCHING with a CRUCIAL sacrifice fly to center field, letting Yohel Enrique Pozo go to home plate. Finally, Masyn Blaze Winn, the 23-year-old from Katy, Texas, has a SLICK groundout, giving Vic the fourth bag green light!

A teammate hits a home run to left center field in the top of the ninth inning.

Folks, HOOT AND HOLLER for Miles Tice Mikolas, the 36-year-old from Jupiter, Florida! LIZARD KING had an ABSOLUTELY GUTSY effort today; GIMME FIVE clutch strikeouts. GOLF CLAPS go to Matthew Patrick Svanson, Steven Jakob Matz, Phillip Louis Maton and Ryan Dalton Helsley, all part of the best bullpen in the league, for the PERFECT defense!

    TIME TO FLY !!!!!!!!!!! #12in25 #STLFLY

  2. I was watching the Cleveland broadcast of the game. Their announcers were very impressed by Mikolas through the first three innings saying he is a good 5th starter who gives you 5 innings. Then he was pounded.

  3. Cardinals fan from Taiwan and studying in STL. About to leave the city cuz I just graduated. Absolutely love this team. I’ll miss the time I spent at Busch Stadium. Hope I’ll have this kind of comeback in my life after all the struggles. Let’s Go Redbirds!
