matchup between the Tampa Bay Rays and the Athletics The Tampa Bay Rays sending out Shane Bos for the start in this one while the Athletics will counter with Jeffrey Springs Now Bos is coming off a great start last time out Eight innings of three hit shutout baseball nine strikeouts But you look at his last home start all the recent outings where Bos has really been at his best have been you know on the road Uh but at home last time out against the uh the Tigers it was five runs allowed on four hits But he had issues with the control That was a big reason why he struggled in that start F uh four walks allowed for the second straight start when he made that He gave up a home run If you look at Bows’s numbers this season at Steinbrer Field you know still a 5.70 erra but a 5-2 record The Rays have been able to back him up at home And if you look just as a team what Bos has been able to do at home I mean first of all they’re 12-4 in his starts this season but they’re six and three in the Rays are in those nine starts at home And the one the starts that they’ve really been losing have been when you know Bos is getting absolutely shelled You know six runs uh in three and a third against the Phillies seven runs in five and two/3 against the Rays But his last three starts at home 16 innings of work Yeah he’s allowed five runs three runs one run but all wins for the Rays and all wins for Bos himself And you’ve got a Rays lineup that in the last two weeks against lefties is one of the best teams in baseball Why is that important well you’re going up against a former Ray here in Jeffrey Springs who you know hasn’t you know had the really had the pleasure of pitching at Stein Brener Field And you know he he’s been very volatile this season has Jeffrey Springs I mean you know the thing is is that Jeffrey Springs you know last time out five innings of three-run ball against the Tigers came off of seven innings of excuse me seven and third innings a one-run ball against the Guardians but also on the road two innings six runs six hits six walks So you never know what you’re going to get from Jeffrey Springs You go back to the beginning of the year Springs was like I said getting blown up left and right Then he went on a run where he was like “Oh he’s the Springs of old This is what the A’s thought they were getting.” And then back and forth and back and forth And I just can’t trust that I know the A’s have been a solid team against right-handed pitching I’ve mentioned it before in past videos Even when the A’s were in the midst of their huge losing streak they were a team that were still doing really well against right-handed pitching The problem is is that you look at the what they’re doing right now in the last two weeks against righties The A’s are hitting just 210 against right-handed pitching Their isolated power numbers are dead last in baseball Their team OPS numbers are third worst With the run that Bos is on I gotta think that the uh that the Rays are in a good spot here especially with the far more trustworthy bullpen You know even though in the last 7 days they do have the highest bullpen RRA in baseball at 9.33 That’s think the A’s have been less trustworthy for a longer period of time and still have a 6.04 ERA in the last 7 days So I’m going to roll with the raise here Whether it’s money line or run line it’s your call but I’m
