[DeDominicis] I’m not one to defend Adams these days but they tried to use futures to get Dobson. He wouldn’t extend in Buffalo.

  1. This adds up with our rumored interest in Dobson + interest to move 9 + fact he got traded to Montreal for worse picks.

    The bright side is that it shows the front office would have had a willingness to spend (unless the reason he wouldn’t sign is because they offered him an awful deal)

  2. Good, don’t want $28M tied up in 3 defensemen. Not to mention add another $4M+ with Sammy.

  5. You have to wonder how many deals have been canceled based on a player either not agreeing to a trade or communicating their intention not to extend.

    I bet it’s common. I think Adam’s has done a decent job drafting and trading. The blockbuster remains incomplete based on stories like this.

  6. This speaks to something fans hate to acknowledge – not every player that gets moved was possible in Buffalo.

    Having said that, people not wanting to come here is a consequence of the environment that’s been cultivated here and Adams is entering year 6 – he’s indicted by this.

    Having also said that, spend some f**king money and maybe players would see that there’s a solution to be a part of.

  7. Maybe they should’ve tried to be competitive instead of delaying things for years under the facade of “development”.

    We are now finding out from all our indecisions and decisions the consequences.

  9. Dobson is overrated not worth that contract with how much he sucks at defense. I’m ok with not paying 30 million to 3 defenders
