Giants vs. D-backs Game Highlights (6/30/25) | MLB Highlights | Arizona Diamondbacks

the Diamondbacks had a rough weekend they were swept in three games by the Miami Marlins despite having a lead in all three games now the Giants they haven’t had a lot of success lately either losing five of their last six games all against sub 500 teams this is a series of opportunity for either of these two teams to turn things around ryan Nelson in his last three outings 15 and two/3 innings two earned runs that’s it both of them off a solo home run that is all that he has allowed that one is leaking toward the seats first base side for Paven and he’s got it just shy of the netting pave Smith tracking that one down our first look at Raphael Devers with the Giants but he has the thump that they have needed and probably you could say I think fairly needed for the last several years got him there’s that heater at 96 and Nelly’s got his first strike out 11 pitches 11 fast balls and now they go two got him he’s living up there at 98 ryan Nelson with an impressive start we lost four in a row we’re a little ticked off and we’re not messing around tonight whip trying to stay perfect this month on the final day of June two and0 and five starts this month
and this is a rope standing right there to make the catch is Daniel Johnson marte’s got all-star numbers 305 17 out of the park and 37 runs batted in
marte hits a fly ball to right that one not hit all that hard johnson kind of froze now he comes in and catches two down cold on the ground to first fair ball dom Smith has it he’ll run to the bag for the put out and that retires the side what was that seven pitches to start the game for Logan Web off the top of the third inning we are scoreless in this first of four swing and a miss he just struck out Fitzgerald and he got him to fish for a slider low and away bailey bats eight 194 and one home run he’s got an OPS Patrick Bailey that has dropped below 550 i mean that is a deep dark pit of despair and as good as his defense has been the offense has been lacking but he finds a way to bounce one through for a base hit johnson’s a guy they signed out of the Mexican League earlier this year scoops one way up high in center alec Thomas just shy of the track out there two outs in the third bounced up the middle for Peromo little flip to Catel and they got the force on Bailey a 10 pitch third ryan Nelson sailing along alec Thomas leads off the bottom of the third inning who would have thought that Ryan Nelson and Logan Webb the way that they’ve been pitching this year would not be giving up too many base runners giants with two hits the Dbacks with one swing little popup shallow left field this is falling fast it’s going to get down for a base hit thomas rounds first he tries for second and he’s in there safely what a heads up play by Thomas well he was thinking double all the way when he hit this ball as long as it lands
how many guys Katie do we see kind of dog it halfway down the line thinking “Ah could be foul could be caught.” Right off the bat once Thomas saw the trajectory he was like a bullet out of a gun let’s see if the Dbacks can take the early lead
rbi chance for Jos Herrera shows Bunt gets it down bailey’s on it and they can’t make a play alex coming home and he will score chaos ensues and it’s one- nothing Diamondbacks jose Herrera dropped one down
i’m not sure who they’ll give the air to but it should be an out is what it should be now with a one- nothing lead
as we open up the top of the fourth inning rafi Devers leads off for the Giants got him 96 up top five strikeouts for Ryan Nelson raphael de like a lot of major league hitters he wants to hit a fast ball everybody likes to hit that heater but that’s just a little bit higher than he can handle right there at 98
yeah Ramos has been generating much of San Francisco’s offense this year he’s been hitting up near the top of their lineup the last couple of months but he has had a bit of a quiet stretch lately
got him there it is again 95 up and in six strikeouts for Ryan Nelson second time he’s got Devers and Ramos
and now he swings it’s a higher deeper drive to right but it’s going to be tracked down by McCarthy and that’s a one two three inning here for Ryan Nelson he’s pitching a beauty right now as the Dbacks go down in order in the bottom of the fourth
vintage Logan Web inning there three up three down with three ground ball outs
all right Nelson has set down the last seven Giants in a row it’s Gerald trying hard not to be the eighth that’s over the head of Gino and headed for the left field corner fitzgerald with just the third Giants hit and here in that one a two out double
he earned that one had to battle off some tough high fast balls finally gets a slider stays right on that inside corner mid thigh and gets the barrel on it headed for that left field corner
now they have a chance to actually get a run on the board patrick Bailey who was kind of their RBI guy which it wasn’t an intense competition for that award in Chicago but over the weekend he was their guy rifles a line drive right to Catel who makes the catch and the inning comes to an end the Giants get a two out double they fail to score alec Thomas drops one in there alec going the other way he’s two for two just trying to hit the ball the other way and it works out for him we’ll see if Herrera puts another bunt down he squares and bunts it beautifully up the first base line a bare hand pick up by Web and then an underhand toss to first is just in time but they did get the out on the play thomas goes to second so now top of the order and with the Giants offense struggling the way it is it becomes a real pressure situation here herdomo strikes out swinging he got him with the slider two down fourth strike out for Web the problem for Web is he’s still got to get through Marte strike three called sinker came back to the inside corner and Logan Webb gets him that was some clutch pitching from Web
alert as Goreel Junior’s bat has gone a little quiet these days he’s had one hit in the Marlin series over the weekend but a lot of luck against the Giants so far this year
logan Webb doing Logan Webb things he’s getting ground ball outs and he’s getting strikeouts but Lurtis gets a hold of one drives ramos to the wall and it’s gone just the seventh home run given up all season by Logan Web it wasn’t a great pitch from Web and it kind of came right in almost like a hanging slider it has become clear even if it’s a circumstance created out of necessity that Ryan Nelson is and should be among the Diamondback’s best starting pitchers smith tonight is singled and flyed out to deep right another tight one here late they trail two nothing in the top of the seventh 2-2 is a line drive base hit right between short and third out into left center tawa cuts it off spins smith heading for second the throw is late and offline dom Smith slides in with a double and the Giants have a runner in scoring position now with one out willie Adamus coming up
hit towards the hole knocked down everybody’s going to be safe
so the Giants do have another base runner now on at first and second with one out for Jung Hu Lee skyed high to center alec is under it no effort to advance by the Giant base runners and Ryan gets out number two tyler Fitzgerald will be the hitter and that will be it he’s going to go to the bullpen to get Mario he will not not let Nelly finish off this inning not going to be a popular one to see Nelson leave this game with how well he’s thrown it the Diamondbacks bullpen they’re going to have to lock it down and shake off the nightmares that were in the series against the Marlins and the first pitch is swung on and lifted to deep right center field thomas racing diving it’s off the end of his glove he can’t catch it one run will score right behind him is a Davis and one pitch out of the bullpen it’s a game tying double oh how frustrating that is for Ryan Nelson ju pitched a brilliant ball game he gets taken out marila comes in and he throws a fast ball right down the heart of the plate the bottom of the order has set the table once again and now it is time for the top to do its thing starting with Baraldo Perdomo
jerry scoops one out there and it drops into left center alec Thomas will score the answer backs answer back and take the 3-2 lead and it is Christian C top of the order coming up highf fly ball to deep left center all the way to the wall and he did he get it no he didn’t no
and we have to check for fan interference tim Tawa left with the glove it looked like it was over the fence the question is was the fans glove over the fence on the other side the umpires will get together they’re going to call him out and here comes Bob Melvin christian CS has been called out
i think Mel’s going to ask for a challenge you can do that
yep i hope the call stands but I don’t think Tawa catches that ball
after review the call on the field is overturned there was no spectator in the series however during the review it was ruled that the ball would not have enough left the ballpark the battle runner is awarded second base san Francisco will retain her challenge
they have overruled the spectator interference in New York but they’ve also ruled the ball would not have been a home run and so Christian CS is given a one-out double cs will come off the field now and will get a pinch runner Brett Wisley so Wisley is the tying run so Devers is the batter he has struck out all three times got him john Curtis is up to the challenge denver’s 0 for four with four punch outs
strike three called what a job by Shelby Miller he strikes out Ramos and the Giants strand the time run at second adios Suarez leads off swinging a high-fly ball out towards left field ramos back out of room and some valuable insurance here in the eighth as it’s now a 4 to2 Diamondback lead yeah all right so this is what happened in between innings bob Melvin is wearing out homeplay umpire Quinn Walcott
and yeah he did get tossed and I have a feeling this has something to do with Ramos taking two pitches way off outside and getting called and rung up so fighting for the guys to try to get a good strike zone two down in the ninth lee hits it deep to center alec Thomas is there and the losing streak ends
yeah shelby Miller’s first career four out save

Ketel Marte and the Arizona Diamondbacks take on Jung Hoo Lee and the San Francisco Giants on June 30, 2025.

  1. How do they rule it an out and then rule it not an out but that it wouldn't have been a home run…. then award the runner second…. seems like they didn't know what to do so they just made up a rule lol…

  2. I think it’s time for Torey to move on & work in the front office or something. How many times is he gonna give away games? He tried to give away another one tonight!!!

  3. Imagine being that Dbacks fan that interfered. What an idiot! Don't reach over the line especially when it's your home team trying to make the play, you moron.

  4. It’s time to bring up some starting pitchers from triple A to use in the bullpen, this is ridiculous guys, we finally have some offense and we blow the lead in the 8th 40 times a season

  5. Down 2-0 and losers of 5 of the last 6, the last thing fans want to see is you celebrating a double like you just won the World Series. Sick of all the celebration for doing what you're supposed to do.

  6. The coaches are horrible on who to use out of calf pen.I would call it a bull pen if the had some balls. And knew how to hit corners when pitching?????????
