White Sox vs. Dodgers Game Highlights (7/2/25) | MLB Highlights
There’s a buzz in the building tonight. There’s an energy, there’s a nervousness and anxiety because the anticipation everybody is here for one reason. It’s the opportunity to watch. Clayton Kershaw go for history during this generation, the Dodgers have won two world championships on the road. Clayton has thrown his no hitter here at home. This will be a night in the regular season. That will be one of the most special nights ever in his career. His ninth start of the season trying for five straight wins, trying to lead the Dodgers to seven straight series wins trying for history, three strikeouts away from becoming the 20th pitcher all time to record at least 3000 strikeouts. He would be the fourth left hander ever from a 19 year old to a 37 year old is three strikeouts away from 3000. We have watched him grow up, we have watched him mature. We have watched him dominate from the very, very beginning and that domination has been spelled K for Kershaw slater has faced Kershaw a bunch seven for 27 with a double and three home runs down the line to right field and that’s a fair ball. Slater continues to have a good career against Kershaw and it’ll scoot away from Slater will end up at third with one out here in this first inning. So a defensive miscue from Andy Pos in the corner Sox trying to strike first here in this first inning. And now it’s Andrew Benintendi with two down slashes this one to right field and it’s going to fall in front of pos. It’s the sox striking first as Slater will score 1 to 0 here in the first inning. A little bit of payback from last night. The Dodgers scored six runs all six came with two outs, 1 to 0. Chicago already equaled their hit total from all of last night in the series opener with three hits 1st and 2nd 2 down, swung on and Hammer deep to left field going back on it from 4 to 0 at the wall. He makes the catch right to the left of the bullpen and brought it back. So, er, gets the start his third of the season, the starting catcher for the national league all star team right here in the box at Dodger stadium and it is well deserved, top average, top on base percentage, one of the best clutch hitters, two strike hitters this year. It is 1 to 1 as Will Smith Cranks his 11th home run of the season 407 ft into the left field pavilion for Will Smith in his last 11 games will, has hit five out of the over sean Burke. His last two has been really good. This will be his 16th game opening day starter for the White Sox. He’s been pitching some good baseball. The last couple have been really good. He will face Andy Pye has to get things going here in the second innings. Belt one deep to center field on the run is Taylor and ambushes him for a first pitch home run and the Dodgers have a 2 to 1 lead home run number 17 for and the Dodgers RB I leader now has 50 eight. One of the things that approach for the White Sox has been really good so far. Not a lot of wild swinging Kershaw bring the ball into the strike zone. He’s yet to show that he has one pitch that he can be dominant with. Austin Slater had the big hit in the first inning. It was a triple down the right field line. He would come around to score the only run of the game for the Sox hit deep to left field and that one is long gone. Austin Slater his fourth home run off of Kershaw in his career and it’s the sox retaking the lead here in the third inning, terrific approach so far from the white Sox hitters not over swinging, making Kershaw bring the ball into the strike zone 0 to 2 in a hurry on vs swing and a miss strike three got him with a curveball career strikeout 2998 2 to go for Kershaw Sox with six hits already off Clayton Kershaw, three singles. A AA triple and a home run to Edgar Carro slashes it down to right field. It’s a fair ball that in 10, he will be waved in and RB I single for the rookie Carro as the Sox take a 52 lead here in the third innings. Gotten awfully quiet in the big ballpark here at Chavez Ravine Kershaw given up four runs. He’s recorded just one strikeout. He’s now two away from 3000 few times in your career for alex Vesia that you’re actually disappointed to get up in the bullpen. You would rather hear that phone ring and we don’t need anybody tonight. Punch out here, might keep him in the game. A strike three ball in the dirt , picks it up and tags him. That is career strikeout 2999 1 to go for Kershaw. The sun is setting on Dodger Stadium and it is setting on Clayton Kershaw’s outing. He is one strikeout away from 3000. He’s at 92 pitches down the line. It’s a fair ball into the left field corner dugout by Conforto. It’s a one out double for Michael A Taylor and Dave Roberts is not budging from the top step. A double that usually maybe would get him removed from the game, but this is a different day, a different game. Kershaw’s pitch there goes Taylor for third throw down by smith a little bit. He got him on the helmet. He tagged him out. Muncey’s, he is hurt and Muncey’s laying on his back. They’re checking the leg. It appears of Max Munce is going to get up and he can’t put all of his weight on that leg. He’s limping off with the help of Thomas Albert and he’s coming out of the ball game. Hernandez will come out and take over at third base. Clayton Kershaw two pitches away from 101 strike out away from 3001 and two. The ravine rises ready to erupt better than 50,000 on their feet at Dodger Stadium. 12 pitch strike strike over 1000 for Clayton Kershaw history at Dodgers Stadium. They will stop the game. Kershaw his cap to the crowd here at Dodger Stadium as Clayton Kershaw enters the 3000 club just the 20th number and only the fourth left hander in the history of the game with 3000 strikeouts. Every one of them coming in a Dodger uniform at the start of the sixth. The thought probably was for most one more batter the lefty and he grounded out. Doc stayed with him after a hit doc stayed with him after the injury to Max Muncy, stayed with him and he gets number 3000. Clayton Kershaw has cemented his legacy as one of the all time great pitchers in the history of this game. So hernandez who took over for Max Muncy at third, look at his first at bat of the night, 1st and 3rd with one down and he got him to chase good pitch from Burke for out number two, Burke trying to get out of this jam. I certainly don’t have a crystal ball, but I can tell you sean Burke has made some really good pitches tonight. He’s made really good pitches when he’s needed to. This is a big one right here. Got him swinging. He is coming off the mound. He’s made to make some tough pitches and he did right here. Bases are full of Dodgers with nobody out and here comes shhe, he swings. It’s a ground ball to second Sousa flips the second one too late for scores to make it a 4 to 3 ball game tying run is 90 ft away. It will be stephen Wilson against Mookie Betts. Mookie swings hits a high drive left center field. This ball heading back toward the track. It is going to be caught tagging and scoring to tie the game his head. It’s 4 to 4. Freeman looks out at Stephen Wilson Otani at second Smith at first two down bottom of the night. He swings and it’s a base hit to right. He comes to the where, well the 15th knockoff hit for Freddie Freeman and the Dodgers come all the way back to win it 5 to 4 on a special night at Dodger Stadium where a sellout crowd witnessed Clayton Kershaw’s 3/1000 strikeout.

Iโm glad that Otaniโs steal led to a comeback win๐๐๐ Get well soon Muncy. Congratulations Kershaw! Letโs go Dodgers๐๐๐
nothing but prayers for Maxy, that was an unfortunate collusion. He has been very good for the dodgers this season. Also, his turn around was after he got his glasses because he was having eye issue and have to check with the doctor.
But of course, congratulation to Kershaw, 3000 strikes out is a whole lot of pitching. Awesome moment for him.
For those of you not playing along at home, the Sox and Dodgers met in the 1955 W.S. which the Dodgers won.
please no more injured player this season.
It is good to see Freeman did it again.
6:48 – "3,00th" – You had one job.
Randy Johnson at 4871 is just mind boggling and idk how people donโt think heโs the best pitcher ever
