Schaefer can be Islanders pillar on defense, like Potvin for dynasty teams

We had a high powered offense last year and we’ve had some of the best goalies in the nhl for years. If we finally fix the defense we’d be unstoppable.
I’m too young to remember Potvin, but if he can be as good as advertised we’re talking the best Isles defenseman in three generations.
No pressure, kid.
If he’s our Potvin, who’s our Trottier, Bossy, & Gillies? Who’s our Butch, Nystrom, & Tonelli? There were a ton of pieces that put that dynasty together, not to mention the leadership of Al Arbour. Potvin, by the way, is top 3 defense of all time, & this kid hasn’t played a single game yet. Relax.
