Reynolds had an incredibly slow start to the season but has an OPS of .845 since mid May.
Reynolds did sign a (*does a spit take*) 8 year 106 million dollar deal in 2023.
I don’t know about you guys but this doesn’t sound like a very “Royals” move to me with all that contract still hanging out there.
Also want to point out that per Rosenthal it’s not just Reynolds that the Royals are looking at. They are one of the most active teams in the league when it comes to looking for hitters with controllable years left.
Exactly what we need.
Love him and this would be a nice move.
A 30 year old who’s having the worst season of his career with six years and roughly $88M left on his contract.
“Now that he’s OBPing .301, he fits our team”
That will save the season./s
I don’t think adding another batter who is struggling this season is a smart use of resources. Plus his contract would make it even more difficult to justify.
This team is falling out of contention and not really showing any signs of life. There’s not much reason to belive this team can play at like a 110 win pace that it would take to reach that final WC spot at this point.
If we want someone that’s having their worst season of their career I’d rather have Lou Bob, at least he would be almost free-we wouldn’t have to give any players.
He does have pretty damn good underline numbers so could be high upside deal just that he’s 30 and owed 88 mil and doubt the pirates would eat that contract. Great mlb the show player though
Wouldn’t the Pirates be more efficient just to reach out to the Angels? They love bad contracts out there.
I really hope this doesn’t happen
I called this. I said buy low. I gotta find the receipt
He struck out 156 times last year too. $75 million over the next 5 years for his early to mid 30s years when he is already showing decline.
No, that’s a terrible idea.
This would be one of the most Royals moves of all time. Would fit right in with India
A few seasons ago would’ve been a nice pickup. Now??? Ehh.
Royals fans: We need a controllable bat
Royals: Interested in controllable bat
Royals fans: Please god no
Fits Qs MO. Wouldn’t surprise me at all. Will piss me off if we finally spend money and its always on other teams throwaway.

I doubt it’s worth it
Trying to drive up Lugos price.
