Pelicans Making MORE Moves – Pelicans Sign 3 Point SNIPER…

The Pels are making more moves. This time, the Pelicans have signed a three-point sniper. And we’re going to take a look at the Pelicans latest signing and also give you an update on what’s going on with the possible Jonathan Kaminga signing trade situation inside this edition of Pelicans Digest. What’s good with it everybody? Happy Fourth of July weekend y’all. It’s your people of the MIC back once again with Pelicans Digest. And thank you so much once again for subscribing, man. If you haven’t done it yet, go ahead and hit that subscribe button, baby. We we get a little spicy over here. We give you the best analysis, opinions, and so much more about the Pelicans right over here. And thank you so much once again for making us one of the fastest growing YouTube Pelicans channels out here on the internets, man. And of course, uh I will address, don’t worry, we going to get into this in this episode. I will address my controversial statements that I made yesterday suggesting that the Pelicans possibly trade Herb Jones in a matter of minutes, man. But once again, I’m on the road uh in Austin, Texas for the Fourth of July weekend. Uh big shout out to the ATX, man. And uh I forgot my mics, man. So bear with me. I I’m I’m trying to make sure I get this information out to you. Sorry if the sound is crazy and all that. Uh but we going to get into the news and the headlines right now. And of course, uh, the big news coming out of the, uh, front office today is the Pelicans have signed what may be a three-point sniper of the future for the squad as the Pelicans pick up Trey Alexander. The New Orleans Pelicans and Trey Alexander have agreed to a two-way deal. League sources told Hoop Hype, Hoops Hype, according to Michael Skoto, uh, via X. And uh real quick about this guy, uh one of the things I like about him as I took a look at his numbers and a deep dive into his numbers is that he has a pretty good three-point shooting percentage and he played uh in a couple of games for the Nuggets last season. Uh but if you take a look at his numbers, they’re not bad, man. They’re really not bad. Alexander appeared in 24 games for the Denver Nuggets last season and he averaged 25.8 eight points, five rebounds, and five assists, and one steal in the GLeague, and shot a not a pretty decent number right there. 39.5% for three-point land. Uh so, if you’re the pals, you need some three-point shooting help and then you pick that up in this guy. Once again, this is more than likely another summer league uh signing uh to get the guy on the floor. And and and again, the Pelicans are stacking up in the guard for in the forward positions and the wing positions especially uh to figure out their future uh to figure out which one of these guys can take the mantle in a year or two and lead this team or be a contributing factor to this team in some way, shape or form. Uh so expect him to spend a majority of his season or if he comes through and that’s up in summer league, you know, we might see more of him. Uh so again uh this also uh and I I just remember this at the last second. The Pels released Antonio Reeves today. Uh so I know that’s going to make a lot of fans angry as well. A lot of y’all were big fans of Antonio Reeves, but again Antonio Ree is probably going to show up on another roster along with Brandon Boston Jr. I’m assum I’m assuming. Uh so it’s unfortunate. Again, Ree was the victim, but Ree got to be honest with you, I’m not going to say that Ree was really a victim of anything because last season we got a lot of teams and according to P and especially the Pels got a good chance to look at him due to all the injuries that was out there and I guess I didn’t I guess the Pels didn’t see you know I guess you know what they wanted to see with them. So I guess that’s why they decided to let him go. Again Wings were already heavy in that position. I knew a lot of these names were going to go. And again, that’s also looks good favor for Jose Alvarado as well. All right, so uh we’ll see about that. We’ll keep you updated on that as summer league kicks off in a couple of days here on July 10th. And uh we’re going to be looking at those rosters and taking a deep dive into it real soon. Now, the moment you all been waiting for yesterday on this very fine quality program. A lot of y’all got upset with me because I merely suggested. Merely suggested. Didn’t say it was confirmed. Didn’t say that the Bills should do it. As a matter of fact, I said it would be a terrible idea if the Bills do it. But I did say that you should s and all I did was suggest that the Pelicans take a look at possibly possibly moving off of Herb Jones Jr.. Now, a lot of y’all some of y’all got so mad you unsubscribed to the channel and unfollowed Some of y’all was I mean listen man and I I got to say this on behalf of people who do this who analyze sports. You have to take your fan hat off sometimes fam. You have to take your fan hat off especially in the off season. And I know a lot of y’all don’t have the capability to do that from time to time. But if if if you’re going to present information as an analyst, you have to take your fan hat off from time to time. And because you know what happens when you put your hat on? You know how you put on a ball cap and it limits your field of vision? It limits your field of vision. You probably can’t look up or or around and stuff like you limit your field of vision when you wear a hat. Okay? So, in the offseason, you take that hat off so you can look at your team constructively. I’ve been in the radio business and in the broadcasting business for 15 years before I started doing this channel. And one of the things that we would do as an exercise uh whenever we was in charge of a TV station or a radio station or whatever is we would do something called attack yourself. You have to attack yourself. This is the if this is something that you curated and crafted then you got to attack yourself to find out if there’s ways to make it even better. So you go in and you look at and analyze every little thing about your situation, about your team, about what it is that you’re doing. And you have to look at that situation and realize, okay, where can I improve at? Where can I get better at? And also, you have to explore the options of this player that I love so much and is so good. What would happen if I moved to him and I moved this player in his place? That’s how you get analysis, my people, is that you open up the questions in the world of possibility and wonder to give you a chance to think without having your heart in it. Cuz when you’re a fan, your heart is in it. This is a business though and you have to make a decision cutthroat sometimes and you have to take your heart and your emotion and your love out of it. So that’s all I was trying to do is get you to open up your mind to the possibilities and look at some things when it cames to the the possibility of moving off of Herb Jones for Jonathan Kinga. Again, if when I take my fan hat off, I look at the numbers. Jonathan Kaminga scored 15 points a game and had four rebounds in 74 games played last season compared to Herb Jones who had 10 points a game, three rebounds, and only played in 20 games. To take my fan hat off and look at those numbers and say, “Well, damn. You might we might have to make a change then. We It’s something that you have to open your mind up to.” But if it’ll make you feel better, ladies and gentlemen, if it’ll make you feel better, ladies and gentlemen, Herb Jones is not expected to be traded anytime soon. According to Jake Flesher, uh, and he’s, uh, according to this quote as well, Herb Jones has one of the best contracts in the league and New Orleans knows that. So, there you go. There you go. There you go. So, you ain’t got to worry about Herb Jones moving. It was just something to suggest to take a look at. Now, when you consider that the Pelicans were looking to do a signing trade with Jonathan Kaminga and the Warriors showed mutual interest in picking up Herb Jones, go look it up. The reports are out there. It was something that you had to look at as a without your fan hat on and look at the possibilities of that situation and seeing if that’s going to work for your team. Again, if it makes you feel better though, here you go. Jonathan Kinga, his interest with the Pelicans faces some considerable obstacles and one of the big obstacles is money. Jonathan Kamega is understood to be seeking a contract worth at least $30 million per season, something a lot of teams are struggling with. The Pelicans are still around $10 million below the luxury tax threshold and will need to move players in order to sign Kaminga at his current demands. So, so there you go. I don’t think this is going to happen now. I don’t think the Kaminga signing is going to happen because of that. And I said this before, I knew he was going to command more money, a higher number as far as dollar signs was going to go. But for $30 million for 30 million, no, I’m good. Good. We’re paying Zion 30 32 $35 million. Now, if you want a Kaminga that bad, then you swap out that salary. You trade Zion for Kaminga. If you want it that bad, if you want a Kaminga that bad, you going to trade Zion cuz you already knowing what it’s going to be a 50-50 shot with Zion regardless of what happens this season. So you move Zion then if you want to get that if you want to get somebody some forward help and bring in Kaminga. So but at this point it looks like all bets are off on the Kinga situation because of that number. But all I was trying to do is suggest and open your mind up to some new possibilities. I want you to imagine your roster. I I need y’all I need us as a fan base to imagine and think bigger when it comes to our roster instead of falling in love and being clingy to these players sometimes. Yes. You Yes. At some points when you’re presented with new information cuz somebody somebody’s going to say, “Oh, you waffling now.” I can make I can make a change in my judgment based on new information presented to me. If you present me with new information and new facts or something, then I can adjust my take on that. And that’s what I did. And in this case, I adjusted my take on that based on the new information. But if it makes you feel better, Kaminga ain’t coming. Herm ain’t going nowhere. So now the question is, where else would you like to see improvements on this roster? What do you think we’re still missing from this roster on this Pelicans team? Take your fan head off for a second and let’s talk about it. Get in the comments and let’s shop about it. What are your thoughts on the Pelicans latest signing of Trey Alexander from the Denver Nuggets? Can he make the squad? Is it a good signing? What are your thoughts on that? 1. Dude I can't believe they waived Antonio Reeves, you telling me we couldn't get anything in trade or make him part of a trade?? Quality rotation player last year! Showed progress! You get nuthin? Nuthin?? Maybe the league is just flooded with young talent right now…still waiving seems lazy!

  2. There u go …. Get rid of Zion … he is not goin to be healthy once again …. Get him gone and we will have a legit direction

  3. Don't say herb and trade in the same sentence bro. I ain't unfollowing that's wild but he's pretty popular and the engine of the team when healthy

  4. If i remember correctly, Trey Alexander is a nightly triple-double threat for Creighton.
I liked him as a prospect in the 2024 Draft class.

  5. i dont want him anyway!! he aint dat dam player to be payin no 30mil to! hell noooo!! and im definitely tryna keep herb! why would i give away great defense and hustle

  6. I would have gone all out to get Josh Giddey instead of Poole. I think Jordan's a nice player but Giddey is another level; he's a guy who is going to win in the NBA. I would move Zion for the best return possible as he is a walking hip replacement. That's a story that will end sooner and safer than most

  7. I would hate to move Herb, but if it was to improve the team, I wouldn't mind. Kuminga just not a better player than Herb, and that's with my fan hat off. Even Warriors fans are saying that Herb is better, and they've watched Kuminga for four seasons

  8. One can go a bunch of places on YouTube and hear nonsense. It doesn’t take a Pels fan hat to quickly dismiss the wisdom of trading Herb for Kuminga. Not even worth arguing. Not even worth watching. UNSUBSCRIBE.

  9. Trading one of the best 3&D players in the league for a guy the shoots 30% from 3 and is demanding 30 mil doesnt seem like a good business decision to me

  10. REAL TALK we not trading Herb and Trey they generational talent. If ykyk trey was playin like all star dude was easily avg 30ppg when the offense ran thru him ! Herb Was jus first team all defense

  11. Alexander is not “big news”. The dude will be playing in Mobile or whatever G-league team. The 20+ points per game were NOT with the Nugs. That was in G-league. He most likely never breaks the roster as a rotation guy let alone being a 3 point sniper for any NBA team, even the Pels 😮😂😅.
