Cleveland Browns QB Shedeur Sanders Gets Herman Edwards Endorsement as Luis Ortiz Shakes Guardians

Good morning and happy 4th of July, man, from your boy Earl of Pearl and Cecil Shorts. We decided to bring y’all a live Ultimate 216 show. Y’all know the vibes. If you woke up, you already won. I hope you do something today that your future self will thank you for. I hope everybody is uh getting ready to enjoy their day with their family, their friends, and significant others and all that good stuff. Cecil, good morning. How you doing, brother?
I’m good, man. Play basketball this morning. I am old, Earl. I am old.
You still hoop?
I tried to. So, Fridays up at this school, they hoop. And um it’s like 5:30 in the morning and we was getting it this morning, but by game two, bro, I was hurting. I mean, there hurting. But it was fun. Hey, if McNuggets is watching this, that is music to his ears cuz he needs somebody else to hoop with. He needs somebody else hooper though. I’m I’m just a I’m just on the side. I hustle. I know my role. I’m like a uh I’m not a 3 and D guy. I’m a hustle guy. I hustle. Give it to McNuggets. Let him do his thing.
And people don’t know, man. You hoop and you play baseball. And I I think at one point I remember when we was in high school, correct me if I’m wrong, but I think at one point you enjoyed hooping more than you did playing football, didn’t you? Oh, that was a fact. Yeah, I thought Yeah, that was a fact. I love basketball and you know in the city in Cleveland it was all about Hooper. Like our Glennville College games would go crazy
to the point they stopped putting them at night.
Crazy. Like man that atmosphere was was was unmatched unmatched in the city. So yeah man I love basketball for a while and then I just started to fall in love with football a little more and went that route. Hey, Curtis Terry was the first high school player to transfer from a school to a rival and get booed when he came back. I never forget that when he left Collwood to go to the V and then we played we played the V at home at night that basketball game.
I remember the first play of that game. I think Jay Weaver dunk right off top. Yeah,
right off top. Shout out to Coach Bam, man. Shout out to that team. It’s the Fourth of July. We want to know where you watching from. What’s your favorite uh thing to do on the Fourth of July? What’s your favorite food to eat on the 4th of July? Before we get started into some real content growing up in the city of Cleveland, what was your favorite thing to do on this day? Oh, that’s a good one. I was thinking about this on the way in. Um, I think the big thing for us will be like fireworks at night time. So, we just go to UCLA High School. We’ll go up to UCLA High School. Everybody be up there. You bring Uno cards. You bring food. You bring frisbes. You playing up until it gets dark. And then at night time, then they start shooting the fireworks. You can see the fireworks from there, but different parks around the city, man. But I think last time my family and I went together, it was uh it was Uclid High School. We went up there and it was a it was a lot of fun.
And so back in the day, like much younger, like when I was a kid, maybe teenage years, we had this tradition, me, my dad, my mom, my brother, rest of the family, we would pack up the coolers and we would go cook out at Edgewater
and just be at the park all day and watch the fireworks off the lake at Lake Erie. um as the nightfall and you know this people watching they know this like every hood had the one dude who had the neighborhood fireworks show. So like we get back home you know get back to 148 the lake show and it was a dude that stayed on the other end who used to put on a fireworks uh display every single year. I’m talking at like 1 two o’clock in the morning.
And so like the fourth of July was just always family time. My mother would always barbecue. Like we used to just kick it. As I got older,
I do remember kicking it at UCLA High School. Like it used to be lit. Traffic used to be backed up on Bad Road forever. Like
that was a good ass time.
Man, I can never forget my mom’s cooking though. Like every holiday, especially the fourth, we look forward to mom’s cooking like all the time. Like whether it was barbecue ribs or hot dogs or hamburgers. cuz she had like this this certain type of sauce. It was open pit sauce, I believe. But she put some of her little swang in it and then and put it over top. Oh man, all the snacks. It was Yeah, Fourth of July was was fun. Fun summer time for sure.
We going to do a keep cut trade in the chat as we get ready to uh go through and get this uh show started. Keep cut trade fourth of July edition. Chicken, burgers, ribs. I’mma take hot dogs out. Hot dogs ain’t that ain’t you know what I mean?
Chicken burgers ribs.
Keep cut trade. You go first George before we get started.
Oh nema. So keep cut trade. You said chicken. I got to write this down. And then what was the second one?
Uh ribs
burgers
and burgers.
Burgers.
So um and beers. Shout out to Mr. King 562. I’m I’m keeping I’m keeping the ribs. I’m keeping the ribs. I feel like ribs is a I mean there’s rioffs in Cleveland. Like there’s ribs is a is a big thing, right? I’m I’mma keep the ribs. That that’s going to stay on my that’s going to stay at the house. What I’m going to cut is the burgers. I’mma cut the burgers and I’mma trade the chicken. But I don’t know. I’m gonna trade it for I ain’t sure I’mma trade it for. I like the chicken. I’mma trade the chicken and probably get somebody else chicken in there. But I’m I’mma trade the chicken. But chicken chicken and ribs are of the three my favorite. The burgers are cool, Earl. But I think I can cut those out cuz I I’m I’mma be good with the ribs. And I might Okay. I might trade the chicken for some for some uh I can get some sides in there cuz you ain’t missing no sides. So, I I can get some I can get some clothes.
He really thought this out.
Some potato salad. I can get some pork and beans with the bacon in it. I can get some mac and cheese on the side. I can get some sweets. So, I’mma trade the chicken to get
the chicken got more value than a burger.
You feel me? You feel me? I got you.
You feel me? Chicken worth a little more than the burger. So, that that that’s what I’mma do. I’mma go ahead and keep the ribs. You know, I love the ribs.
I’mma trade the chicken, too. I’mma go ahead and trade the chicken. No. Yeah. I’mma trade the chicken and and I’mma cut the burger, man. Because Mr. King said uh no gizzies is crazy. He said he said no gizzies on the fourth is Hey, a burnt gizzy. A half burnt gizzy is the truth.
Busting.
It’s the truth.
Busting.
Truth. One thing before we get to our first uh sponsor read, man, they got a question. Shout out to Ian Coleman who always watch our show. Ian got a question for you. What is which which experience would you like more? I I’m gonna be very honest. I’m gonna be very honest. Um Jacksonville I was there the longest, right?
I was there four years. That’s like high school was like college, whatever. Um but experience-wise it was it’s the Texans. Like they treat they they have been treating me like family since I got there in 2015 to this day. Like to this day um we are cool with the McNares, the owners of the team. We are like uh friends with everybody in the building. Still work there still like they still taking care of. So I’m I’m just blessed and honored to be that that situation worked out perfect. Nothing but love for Jacksonville. Nothing but love. Go back there. I support them. I’m planning on throwing some camps there soon. Um but the Texans experience has been crazy. It’s it’s been a blessing for real. So, man, much love to the Houston Texans and the Jacksonville Jaguars, man, for giving my boy, my brother, opportunity to live out his dream. We got a heavy show. Uh, former NFL coach Herman Edwards, man, he appeared on the podcast yesterday and he predicted Shador Sanders to be the Cleveland Browns open day uh starting quarterback. We got to get into Luis Ortiz. Before we get into any of that, Cecil, tell our fans about the Buckeye State Credit Union. Today’s episode is brought to you by Buckeye State Credit Union. We want to know the keep cut trade. We want to know where you watching for, watching from. So, we start with Guardian starting pitcher Luis Ortiz, who was scratched from his start yesterday after the news broke that he was under investigation uh from Major League Baseball after suspicious prop bet activity related to first pitches in two games. He’s been placed on paid administrative leave. No suspension as of yet, but man, his integrity has damn sure been compromised. Uh, Zach Meisel of the Athletic Bulls co-host on the Ultimate Guardian show put out an article about 12 hours ago. Cecil, I just read the first uh first two two paragraphs and we go from there. Uh, two pitches according to ESPN. It’s not just the just the pitches though. It’s the unusual betting activity tied to them. Bets placed on whether the pitches will be balls or hit by pitches. They were flagged by a betting integrity firm referred to Sportsbooks operators. The first instance be uh being examined came in the second inning of a June 15th game against the Seattle manners. Ortiz started uh Randy Orina, the first batter of the inning with a 87 mile per hour slider far outside of the zone. he would uh he would end up walking Arizona and would ultimately spiral into a fiveun inning for Seattle. The second instance came in the third inning of a June 27th game which was just last week against the St. Louis Cardinals. Ortiz spiked the first pitch slider significantly wide of the strike zone to catcher Pedro P uh Pagz. Sorry for the misprononunciation, but the first batter of the inning. Two pitches later, he hit a home run. the Cardinal score three times in that inning. So, uh that is the latest of what’s going on with him. What’s your thoughts on this, man? Because to me, when I look at this, this definitely screams I’m betting uh on games that I’m involved in, which ultimately will lead to a a lifetime ban from from baseball. When you heard this news, man, what was your initial thought process? Um, I think my initial thought was I hope it’s not true, right? But as we got the details and they kind of break down what the bets were on and they kind of break down when the bets happened, which was very recent, and how three states were flagged, like three three different states flagged like, okay, something’s not right here. It’s hard for me to feel like he is not guilty. I’m going wait till everything comes out. Um, and I’m hope I hope I wrong, but this Ortiz thing is is is wild. It’s it’s it’s simply wild. Um, and I’m looking at him and I’m just like I guess I don’t understand his thought process. Like I I don’t know all the details what he has going on behind the scenes. Everybody’s different. Everybody got stuff going on that we don’t know about. I don’t know if he’s in trouble with somebody or if he got caught up with the wrong people or if he’s trying to make some money on the side, whatever the case may be. But you can’t do stuff like this. And the fact that you’re betting on games that you’re involved in, that you’re pitching in, like it’s it’s almost astonishing. Like you’re bold to think nobody’s going to catch up to what’s going on. So nobody going to catch up to what you’re trying to do. Um it just makes too much sense right now. I’m hoping that for his sake, his family’s sake, um this this nothing comes up this, but it the the details say what the details say. And it sounds like um things could get ugly for Luis Ortiz. It’s just interesting because in baseball last year a guy got suspended. No, I’m sorry, not suspended. A guy from the Padres’s, if I’m not mistaken, he got banned for life last year for betting on games that he was involved in. Every year it seemed like it’s somebody that’s keep popping up, popping up, popping up with his baseball and basketball now with Malik Beasley situation. Um and then uh Michael Porter Jr’s brother, uh I can’t think of Jontea Jonte. Yeah,
Jonte Porter, something like that.
The dude you’re talking about, former second baseman of the San Diego uh Padres’s. Yeah, he was banned for life after gambling on baseball. Real quick before you finish that point, uh per this article from CBS Sports says Major League Baseball allows players to legally gamble on sports, but not any diamond sports, which means they can’t gamble on baseball or softball at any level. This article cites that that young man was banned for life. Uh, also there was a umpire and another player that was suspended for a year. So, this thing, as you said, is is really starting to get out of hand. And this is the comp this is the complex situation you find yourself in when you get in bed with gambling partners, right? Every professional sport has a gambling uh uh partner associated with their brand. you know, we get on FanDuel all the time and you see all these different prop bets and and things like that that they would want you to tail, etc. And so, you know, when you kind of get in bed with gambling, these are the breaks because it’s not like this wasn’t an issue beforehand. I don’t know what’s going on in his life either. You know, me and you talked beforehand that baseball players, they make guaranteed money. According to spottrack.com, his 2025 payroll salary was 782,600 bucks. So, I mean, you ain’t making millions, man. But like, I mean, we from the inner city of Cleveland. That’s a lot of damn money.
That’s a lot of money.
You You can take care of yourself with that for a year. So, it it’s unfortunate for him. It’s unfortunate for the Cleveland Guardians, who lost again, by the way. They lost one- nothing uh to the Cubs in extra innings. They returned home today. Is that six in a row? Five in a row.
Six in a row. They on their way on their way to Detroit next to start a series for Detroit series.
Yeah. So, it it’s it’s tough right now. You know, I think this is very unfortunate. I think his career is over because like you said, man, you you compromising your own integrity. Like you out here playing Russian roulette with a thing that you know they got a eye in the sky on. And so whatever punishment you get, you deserve. To me, it screams that you knew what was up and you just didn’t care. That That’s how I see it.
It’s bold. It’s bold.
Real bold. It’s It’s bold. Like you literally And it And it’s the And I wonder who who placed the bets. Obviously, it wasn’t under his name, I’m assuming. You can’t be that you can’t be that silly put under your name, but it just it just makes too much sense. The wild pitches and then the the runs after the inning. It just it’s just too much. And the type of bet it was, like I think they call it micro bets
where you can bet on certain pitches, like the type of bet it was. And for it to happen twice,
come on, man. It it it just makes too much sense. So again, don’t know the situation, don’t know the background. Hope he’s not in any trouble or like you said with the wrong people, but we got to be smarter. Like as a as as those athletes playing today, you have to be smarter. What happened to investments or or businesses or or getting into something productive with your money off the field rather than gambling on your own self, right? and and and in the MLB, I’m not sure about other sports, but the MLB, like you mentioned, you can bet on basketball, football, hockey, soccer, just not no type of diamond sport, which is softball or or baseball. So, this is just not smart. And I agree with you. Whatever he gets, if they found him guilty, he he he truly deserves.
All right, before we move on, man, to talk about Shador Sanders, we actually got some super chats on our show, man. Don’t forget, you can super chat into this show to get your comments read first. So, video surfaced yesterday of Shador Sanders uh down in Miami working out, getting ready for training camp. If you don’t know, uh Cleveland Browns rookies report to training camp July 18th. The veterans report to training camp on the 22nd of July and I believe the first practice in is in two days after that. Well, we got the video. Let’s play the video and show Shadore working out down in Miami. And you seen this and you highlighted that his throws look crisp and you kind of seen some improvement in the mechanics from when this process started and you know throwing his private workouts uh the the rookie uh rookie OTAAS and voluntary workouts. What’s your thoughts on just what you see from him and his throwing motion, the accuracy, things like that uh on this video? Keep in mind Mr. Schwarz was also a high school quarterback. So, I’m interested to see what your thought process on on that was.
Love his motion. Love love how he’s getting the ball out quickly. Um, you can tell he’s really been working on mechanics. He’s always been an accurate guy even since high school. Um, but love his feet, how he’s moving his feet in the pocket, pushing off that back foot, using his hips. And people talk all the time, oh, he doesn’t have the strongest arm. His arm is more than strong enough. Is it a Cam Ward type of strong arm or Patrick Mahomes? No. But most guys aren’t. Most guys don’t have that. It’s about getting the ball out quickly. It’s about being accurate as possible. And if you do have a deep ball, it’s about letting the ball go on time so that the the route and the and the ball match where you’re supposed to be at, right? Um but he looks he looks phenomenal. But to me, it’s not even about him um looking good. It’s about him getting the opportunities. Like he needs opportunities with the ones. He needs opportunities with the twos. He can’t just be with rookies only in practice. So, I’m hoping in training camp I can see more of him getting the opportunities that he needs to really go out there and show what he can do. But he looks really good, man. He was down there with Cam Ward um and their trainer uh Daryl Corbart um does definitely does a really good job trying to get him on the show to talk ball. But, um man, listen, Shadore is, we talked about it, Earl, he’s talented. Like, he has all the talent and ability you want. He has the leadership qualities you need. He has everything you want in a quarterback from the swagger, the confidence, the accuracy, the whole nine. Using his opportunity.
Yeah, man. People love Shador Sanders in the city of Cleveland. He’s been getting a lot of praise from a lot of veterans across the league near and far. when you start to hear other people speak of Shador Sanders as somebody that’s, you know, as we’ve been talking about gambling this whole show, I seen uh something on Bet 360 that said he was plus 700 uh tied for third to be the Cleveland Browns opening day starter. You know, Shadur does has the confidence, he has the poise, he has the swag, he has the moxy, he already is in tune with what he needs to do to be in touch with the community. He’s damn near at every high school. He’s at every event. you, you know, he’s doing what he do to acclimate the fans and that’s the best way to get the people to embrace you by showing that you give a damn about something that matters to them. And then you put it all together, if he’s able to ball out on the football field, man, things can be great here in the city of Cleveland. Uh former NFL coach uh Herman Edwards was on this podcast called the Coach JB show yesterday and he was asked about one Shador Sanders about what he thought about Shador having the opportunity to win a Cleveland Brown starting quarterback job and this is what he had to say. Check this out.
Shador Sanders, are you are you high on him higher than I am? Uh why did he drop? What do you expect to expect from him going forward? Well, I think he’s going to win the job. I’ve known him since a little I’ve known him since a little kid.
I know Dion and And I think the the the Dion factor that Bado that that’s why teams kind of we don’t want this, right? Is it, you know, I mean, call it like it is, they didn’t want that. But I didn’t think he would drop that far.
Yeah, it’s crazy. But, you know, once they start falling, Dennis says, “Uh, but but I I think that was all because of what it when when he came when he when you decided to draft him, you knew what you were going to get and they didn’t want that all that attention. If I was there and it’s even, I’m playing a rookie.” Because I always told players this when I was a coach. Say, “Let me tell you something, guys. Here’s the deal. I used to tell the veterans this. Look, if it’s even, if it’s even with you and a rookie, I’m gonna play the rookie. Shout out to the uh Coach JB show. Shout out to Herm Edwards. I I’m interested to hear what you you have to say. I’ll say this because, you know, the Browns drafted two quarterbacks. You draft Dylan Gabriel in the third round. You draft Shador Sanders in the fifth round. And when I I I definitely agree that it was other things that made Shador Sanders fall as far as he fail in the draft. Let’s just keep it real. When we went through this entire pre-draft process and we did our shows and we were talking about quarterbacks to the Cleveland Browns and we were ranking the top uh drafted draft prospect quarterbacks. Not once did I see Dylan Gabriel listed in the top 10 of any of those uh quarterbacks. when they ran the top 100, 150 players. I never seen Dylan Gabriel ranked in the top 100, top 25. Now, depending on who you talk to, somebody like Mel Kyper has Shador Sanders as high as first. I’ve seen Shador Sanders in in an entire total 150 player board as low as like 30 or 32nd. And so, I guess the point I’m making is, you know, at at minimum, Shadur Sanders probably should have been a second round pick. I don’t see any scenario to where his talent shows you that he’s third, fourth, fifth round pick. And if your opportunity, if you’re a team who missed out on an opportunity to have a guy that can, you know, change your franchise on and off the field because you couldn’t handle with Kang with him, then I think you need to do a better job of having a proper PR uh structure in place so that you can handle prime time players that come with prime time fan bases. I tell you what, Errol, preseason, this this is my thought process because I watch I watch the big show. I watch the the the cle ultimate Cleveland sports show. I watch it a lot. Um and what’s being brought up a lot, whether it’s guest or whether it’s Jason, whoever it is, they’re like, “Hey, the 2026 quarterback class is where their eyes are set.” Right? Cool. If that’s the case, I don’t want to see nobody else at quarterback but the two rookies. I don’t want to see Joe Flacco. Joe Flacco is 40 plus years old. We know we’re getting in Joe. Joe probably, in my opinion, just looking at the age, looking at what he did last year when Indianapolis, he probably can’t last a full season like he was once able to, right? Just because the older factor that that’s just what it is. He’s a placement guy. He’s a guy there to help the rookies. I’m looking at Kenny Picket. He had his chances. He had his chances. He had chances in Pittsburgh. He went to Philly, beat the backup. He’s not who we want him to meet. He’s nowhere. He shouldn’t be. You traded for him, then drafted two QBs. I’m questioning the Browns. Why would you trade a guy, give up a pick for a guy, and then go draft two QBs if you really believed in him? You trying to sell us you believe in Kenny Picket? Don’t sell me that dream. Don’t do that. Okay. Preseason, all I want to see is Dylan Gabriel and Shadur Sanders. I don’t want to see nobody else. nobody else because those two guys need the opportunity to go win the job and then put them in the fire. Put them in the fire. Let them show what they can do. Let them battle it out. Choose one and ride with them and see what they can do. And I’m not big on switching quarterbacks. I I don’t I hate that. Let the rookie battle all 17 games if he’s healthy. Battle all 17 games. Let him develop. Let him get better. Stansky, you supposed to be the guru. Kevin, you supposed to be the guru. This supposed what what you supposed to do. You got two guys that are extremely accurate in college that were unbelievable, unbelievably accurate in college. You go out there and develop them. You go do it. If you if you’re the if you’re the the guru like you say you are, if you’re the guru like everybody says they is. Oh, he’s he can develop. Prove it. Prove it. Pick one and develop him throughout the year. And if they don’t turn out how you want to, okay, then you can go get your quarterback or whatever you want to do. But what if he does turn out great? To me, talent-wise, like you mentioned, Shadur is way better than Dylan. Dylan wasn’t nobody’s list. Let’s let’s call Spade a spade. Nobody was thinking about Dylan Gabriel being drafted in the first three rounds. Nobody.
Nobody.
Nobody. It wasn’t on nobody’s list. Nobody was talking about him on TV at all. They was the top 10 quarterbacks. He wasn’t in the top 10 court. Like, come on. Let’s be real here. Let’s also be honest. Andrew Barry ain’t good at drafting. Andrew Barry ain’t good at drafting. Let’s call this spade a spade. He ain’t good at drafting and they ain’t good at developing. So now the to me like again this goes back to it. Who says their job is safe?
Yeah.
Who says their job
and you said that Wednesday. You said that Wednesday. You said you calling BS on that.
Come on man.
As I hear you speak because I was of the president. You go into the season as Joe Flacco as your starter because we played the clip. You owe it to this fan base. you owe it to the veterans on the roster to do what you can to win as many games as possible. But like, who’s to say that can’t be Shador Sanders, right? Or even or even Dylan Gabriel if it came down to it. Because to your point, if everybody is saying the Cleveland Browns is focused on the 2026 uh quarterback class to fix their quarterback problem, well, you got to have a real plan in place for the quarterbacks that you have on this roster now because one of these dudes really might be him and you might not have to draft a quarterback when one of those two first round picks, but you won’t know that unless you get enough of a sample size of of those guys. I believe that Shador Sanders can start. I believe that Shador Sanders can have a quality rookie season to make the Browns second guess taking a quarterback in in uh 2026 with one of those first picks. I truly believe that. I think he had like we talked about, you got the moxy, you got the I keep, you got the s swag, you got the self-confidence. You seem to be at a level to where when you put that helmet on and you put them pads on and you step out there on that football field, you know exactly where the ball needs to go. you know exactly what you’re doing. And even in the sense of Dylan Gabriel, I’ve heard about how intelligent he is. His IQ, we both know they’re super accurate, right? And when you go through some of the comments on our social media page of the show, people will say, “Okay, great. The Cleveland Browns drafted a future quarterback coach in the third round.” And so it goes back to show like, yeah, quality quarterback to have on this roster, but you probably overdrafted this dude. if you was that in love with Dylan Gabriel, you probably should still have the opportunity to get him later. And so knowing that, you know, the Cleveland Browns don’t have that strong draft uh track record knowing that this season is pivotal no matter how they want to slice it because there is a lot of attraction toward towards this job next year, right? And so it’ll be interesting to see how how part how that part of it, you know, plays itself out, man. But you you found somebody in Shadur Sanders, man. And I think honestly you need to to embrace that and and see what can be because this dude got a chip on his shoulder and he trying to go out here and and show the haters, man, y’all got this wrong. Y’all got this all the way wrong.
If if you say one of the rookies are the guy, then you’re in great position to continue to build your team with two first round two first round draft picks next year. Now your team is attractive. You got a young rookie guy, a rookie quarterback that can play. You got a young rookie, two young rookie running backs that I’m assuming are going to have a really good year. Like, you have something to build on and sell to free agents. You got something to build on and sell to more rookies coming in and we’re developing. Like, you can really change the narrative of what’s going on. Not to mention, like you mentioned on on Wednesday’s show, on 2020, whatever, you got a whole new stadium coming in in Brook Park. Like, so there there’s a lot of excitement that can happen. And I’m going say this, Earl. The worst thing you could do for a quarterback, the worst thing you could do is somebody, I don’t care who it is, if it’s Kenny, if it’s Joe, if it’s one of the rookies, is to start him week one and then bench him week three and then put him back in week five and then you bench him week seven. Pick your guy, fair competition, and let him ride it. Just ride it out. Just ride it out. let him develop cuz then because if you don’t do that right now and I’ve been a part of organizations that they will put a quarterback in and they they didn’t like him put him out and they switched him in the game and then we go back and forth all year long
and the quarterback never felt comfortable always looking over his shoulder if he made a mistake or a bad read or mess up he was like dang they’re going to pull me out. He just wasn’t confident. Make your guys your young guys compete for the job. Pick one and you freaking ride it out. Period. Period. That that that’s just what it is. We got another super chat. Will said, “Imagine Sanders is him. Think what we can do to uh do to reload the team with two firstrounders rather than possibly swinging and missing on another quarterback.” Yeah, that’s fact. Shout out to you for the super chat as well. Hey, that’s facts right there, right? Because we we keep talking about it. You better take this year seriously. Like, you can’t punt on this season to prepare yourself for for next year. Like, that ain’t going to fly in this city. And I’m going to go back and I’mma play that clip again. We had Warren Sharper Sharp on our show a couple days ago. He made this statement. This was my rebuttal. I want y’all opinion in the chats if you didn’t see the show on Wednesday. I think that your main number one priority this year is not winning games. It’s figuring out if you have a franchise quarterback on your roster. And if not, you need to lose as many games as possible this year so that you can ensure that you’re going to draft that franchise quarterback at the top of the 2026 NFL draft. I kind of got to push back on what you’re saying. Even though I hear you, you want to put yourself in the best position possible to draft one of the, you know, best projected quarterbacks in 2026, but I think a lot has to go right, you know, for you to be in that spot. And there’s no guarantee that any of those guys are will be as good as projected to be. And I think one of the things that’s going on here in the city of Cleveland is fans are pissed off. As you talked about with the Deshun Watson contract, we all know everything that was going on around Deshun Watson. You trade for him, you sign him to a guaranteed deal. We get no return on investment as fans, right? Then you go to the Nick Chub situation, beloved fan favorite. He not he doesn’t get the opportunity to leave Cleveland on his own accord. You think about last season, how the expectations was set so high and we underperformed so much that it quite frankly pissed everybody off. The point I’m making is I’m a Browns fans. I know these Browns fans pretty well. It is going to be very, very hard to sell us on a plan for 2026. It’s hard for Browns fans to hear like you should win, you should lose as many games as you possibly can this year because things have been so bad that this franchise owe it to this fan base to go out here and at least try to win. I thought it was a contradiction. You can’t say try to figure out who your franchise quarterback is and if you can’t figure it out then lose as many games as possible because it’s gonna take more than two or three games to figure out if you got a franchise quarterback. You know what I mean? Like you can’t and and like you can’t sell losing to this fan base. Like that is not something that’s going to fly here. Like you can never tell a Cleveland Browns fan, “Yeah, don’t go out here and give no effort. Don’t don’t go out here and try to put forth your best foot forward to win as gy as you can. Like despite how bad last season was, despite what Vegas says the over under win total should be, they hell with all of that, man. Strap them up. go out there and put your best foot forward and try to win. And if I’m Shador Sanders or Dylan Gabriel, man, to hell with what y’all talking about, I ain’t trying to lose a damn thing. I’m gonna go out here and I’m about to ball and I’m about to show y’all I’m him. Talk, man. To hell with Arch Manny, to hell with the rest of them dudes in 2026. I’m here right now. That would be my attitude. And I don’t doubt for a second that either one of those quarterbacks have that attitude. uh go through some of these comments real quick as we get ready to wrap up this show, man. You got any final thoughts, man? Um I truly I truly want I’m just going to be honest. I truly want Shador to win the job. Um I truly want him to have a fair opportunity. It’s going to be hard for him to win the job if he not getting first and second team reps. I’m just going to be honest with you. It’s going to be hard. And I think you reached with a Gabriel pick. Um, I don’t want to hear about Deshun Watson. Like, I don’t want news to pop up. I don’t care if he healthy. I don’t care. He just got married this weekend. Congrats to him and his and his beautiful wife. But as as far as football, I don’t want to hear about him in the Browns uniform. I I couldn’t care less. He need to be the best mentor he could be. But that’s it. He shouldn’t even be touch the field at all. To me, it’s about developing number 12. That’s what it’s about. Develop 12. And I think everybody already, they want to see him play. The other vets, they want him to be in the build. They want him to be in the spot. There’s certain guys you want to play for. He’s the guy you want to play for. Um, so I’m hoping things work out in that way. Um, but I I’ll be honestly that that Warren Sharp guy um I respect what he does, but that take was just it wasn’t it wasn’t a good take. Yeah, I I I ain’t agree with that take either, man. But what I do agree with, man, we got 239 people watching this again. Smash the like button. Luis Ortiz is at the center of a growing scandal, as the Cleveland Guardians pitcher has been placed on administrative leave amid an MLB gambling investigation. The league is probing suspicious first-pitch betting patterns tied to two games Ortiz pitched — and now, questions are swirling about the integrity of the sport, the role of prop bets, and how much this could impact the Guardians’ season.

Meanwhile, the Cleveland Browns quarterback room just got real spicy. Former NFL head coach Herman Edwards made headlines on The Coach JB Show by saying he believes rookie QB Shedeur Sanders will win the starting job. Add in viral footage of Shedeur working out in Miami — sharp footwork, tight mechanics, and elite-level zip — and it’s clear the rookie is gunning for QB1.

  1. I’m keeping Sanders. Attempt to get Downs next draft and trade one of the picks to 27 and attempt to get J. Smith in 2027. After that, you straight, the pieces will fall

  2. The only QB tradeable the Browns have is Shedeur. What team in the NFL would make a trade for Flacco Gabriel or Pickett. Go Lions if Cleveland don't want Shedeur trade the 5th round pick to Detroit. Smoked chicken cole slaw mak and cheese

  3. Browns haven't earned a pass to wait on a Qb from history i have seen.If they are waiting why is Gabriel and Pickett their guys.If they are waiting then they need to be held accountable for a 3rd round wasted pick.
