MLB LIVE🔴 Miami Marlins vs Milwaukee Brewers – Jul 6, 2025 | Full Game MLB 2025 EN VIVO
just about set to go. And on the hill in this one, Yuri Perez and Singi. We were talking earlier about how he’s doing a great job navigating through tough spots.
Well, no doubt about it. He’s going to have to put together some consistently good performances in order to bring that erra down. Now, he’s got good stuff. He’s just got to be able to have confidence, trust it, and really go after hitters, not nibble, trust that his stuff, can have late life and miss barrels of bats. And that is out of play. Popped up foul territory behind a play. And a foul ball. This one in the air center field. Hill settles under it
and there’s one away. Let’s take a look at the Brewers lineup. Singing. This righty heavy lineup is a bit unusual against a right-handed pitcher. Yeah, Boo certainly bucks the old conventional wisdom and I’m not sure I see the vision from the manager on this one. You’re not exactly putting your players in the best situation to succeed when you roll out a lineup like this. Maybe they’ve seen something on video that tells them there’s a weakness to exploit. Perhaps that’s it. William Contras stands in here, leaves that one off the inside. Perez. He isn’t really known as a starting pitcher that’s going to get you deep into the start. It’s not that he’s not capable. He just hasn’t proven that he can do it yet. Highf fly ball and that one curling foul down the right side. One down. Base is empty. Way inside. [Music] That one is absolutely belted. And it’s into the gap around first and hustling for second. And he starts his afternoon off right with a double.
He’s got such great stuff. You just don’t know from start to start whether it’s a potential no hitter or it’s a guy that’s only going to give you three or four innings. But for the most part with that kind of stuff, you expect him to get to the middle of the ball game. And what about analytics? Because one of the ways it seems like they’ve contributed to the trend is it’s not just about are you capable of getting deep that now focusing on the numbers. Maybe the matchup is better with a different guy as the game goes on. Jackson Chio in the box now. No balls in a strike. Only a handful of pitchers can go through an order three times, maybe even four times. and the analytics have contributed to that trend. But I think there are some guys given an opportunity may be able to show that they can be a third or fourth time through the order type of picture. And a swing in the miss there. [Applause] I don’t think he was trying to miss by that much in an 02 count. Just tried to overthrow that And now the count is even. Contrarus the runner at second with one away. Next pitch is outside. [Music] struck him out looking. Most guys are very aggressive when they see the stakes out there on the base paths and can’t understand why he wasn’t ready to swing the bat. You’ve got to be ready to swing the bat in a situation like that with the go-ahead run in scoring position.
And it’s Reese Hoskins up to the dish. And a first pitch fast ball is in for a strike. Two outs and one in scoring position. Let’s go. Swing and a miss. And that’s strike two. He finds himself in a tough situation early. Just going to try to simplify it. Take a knock the other way if you can. [Applause] One and two. [Music] Foul ball. Still a one and two count. swing and a chopper out to short on to first. Out number three. Brewers strand one. And now the Marlins will have a crack at things. No score. Back after this on the show. Back here at Lone Depot Park. And on the hill, a soft tossing lefty just like you, Chris. José Kintana.
Well, he’s been a real quality starter for his club. And coming into this one, what stands out for me is that right-handed hitters have really struggled batting below 200 on the year. It seems that they have a hard time picking up his release point and tracking the ball into the zone. So, we’ll see how right-handers do against him in this one.
We go to the bottom of the first. Xavier Edwards gets a chance to hit here. And that one is downstairs. One and0 into the outfield. Base hit. So a man on base to start the inning. Couldn’t have timed it up any better than that. Really good swing right there. He got pitch that he knew he could handle. Allowed himself to stay back just a tad bit longer and he hit the ball on the screws. Now the number two hitter Jesus Sanchez [Applause] bounding ball here rolls foul. [Applause] Next offering is in for a strike. Ball one there. Nobody out. Runner at first. [Music] on the ground to second. Might be two. Fires over to Hoskins. One gone. Bottom half of the first. And time now for the Marlins lineup. They do a lot of things well in this offense, Singy. They control the strike zone. They make pitchers work hard for outs. And as a result, one of the better OBP teams in the league. Well, what I love about it is it’s an organizational philosophy. Whether you go to instructional league, whether you go to spring training, you see these guys even during batting practice when it doesn’t matter, they’re practicing that type of approach boo. And when you have that filtering through the organization, even when you call off a player, he steps right in and continues with the pattern that they have established at this level, which ultimately leads to a lot of success. Ruer takes off, squirts away a little bit.
No throw. Safe at third. It’s a stolen base. And the go-ahead run is now only 90 ft away. You know, you translate on base percentage, it’s basically this. Teams that have a high on base percentage, they don’t make outs at a very high rate. As my buddy Joe Sheen says, OBP is life. One away with a runner at third. misses off the play. And that’s ball three. [Music] And here it comes. And ball forward to a board. Man, that’s a tough one to take on the full count, but I guess he saw it really well. It’s a really nice play appearance.
Augustine Ramirez getting ready to hit. That one found hard the other way. Well, all eyes on the double play ball in this spot. No better way to get out of this inning. Runners are at the corners. One away. [Applause] Breaking ball misses down and away. That’s [Applause] right side into the outfield base hit and they strike first as they take a one- nothing lead. That’s a good jump right there. Got two strikes on, you just got to battle. [Applause] And up next for Miami, Kyle Starders. And a first pitch fastball is in for a strike. At this point, the clean inning is over. Got to settle in, focus on the hitter, and get out of it with minimal damage. [Applause] and downstairs. [Applause] Check swing called strike and that is strike two. [Applause] rolled to short. Possible two ball offbalance feed. There’s one onto Hoskins. Double play, but they pick up one run on the RBI single. It’s now one- nothing. You’re watching Major League Baseball exclusively on the show. Back here in Miami, all set for the start of the unit. Up now for Milwaukee, Isaac Collins swings and pulls a foul to the right side. Now the one on the ground to third. Throws across the diamond and quickly one away in the second. Here’s the rookie third baseman. It’s interesting. He plays kind of a a power spot defensively, but runs pretty well. So, when you’re looking at that position, you’re not expecting someone that has maybe above average speed, but he does. And I think that skill set really upgrades the position because when you have that kind of speed, it makes the whole team that much better. What about him playing another position on defense? One that would require a little more range.
Absolutely. And I think if Kush came to shove where they had to make a a move during a game, could surprise a lot of people. You might even be able to put him in center field. They got it for out number two. Batting seven, the catcher.
Next for the Brewers, Eric H. [Music] And that is downstairs. And that is ball one in the air right side of the infield. Edwards makes the grab and that’s the inning. Nobody left for Milwaukee. Still behind by a count of one to nothing. Bottom half of an inn number two. Now it’s the rookie first baseman Eric Wagaban. Kintana, a 6-1 lefty, 36 years old, and he’s a native of Colombia. [Applause] Definitely not a pitch location you’re expecting up there as a hitter when you know the guy’s got a good sinker ball. If he can get in that location, boy, you’ve got to look top to bottom and that’s going to make it very difficult to hit. Next pitch is outside. [Applause] And that’s downstairs and outside.
Two and two. Still two and two after the foul ball. gets a piece there. We’ll do it again. Ground ball left side go
fires across the diamond. Lead off man retired here in the second. That’s what a good sinker is designed to do. Get a guy to roll over a little bit. Hit the ball on the ground. Kill some worms while you’re at it.
Liam Hicks the next up for the Marlins. Let’s go. And first offering is fouled off. swing and a popup. Foul territory for the catcher. Hos snags it for the second out.
Batting it the third baseman, Connor Norby. Two down, base is empty. And now for the Marlins. Connor Norby right down to shoot. That’s strike one. Swing and a foul out of play. Two outs. Base is empty. Foul ball. It stays nothing and two. I wouldn’t throw him another breaking ball. Try to go again with a fast ball slightly elevated. He just having a hard time catching up. Misses outside. Going to count one and two. just off the outside part of the plate. Really good take especially with two strikes out to short. Ortiz to first. Marlin set down in order. Nothing doing for the Marlins, but they still lead it one- nothing. And welcome back to the ballpark. Onto the third inning. The matter will be the shortstop. Joseph Ortiz Perez back to work. And there’s a foul ball. The one swinging a miss at a slider quickly in an 02 count. You got to figure out a way to shorten your path to the baseball. Put it in play somewhere. Then you got a chance.
That one misses in the dirt. [Applause] Goes down looking. No, just excellent location on that inside fast ball. Really locked him up. And it’s a hitter. It’s not typically what you’re looking for. You’re trying to protect away and then in. So you can be a little bit tardy with two strikes. It’s hard to tell if he was fooled or if he thought it would be called the ball, but either way, that’s a really nice pitch. One out, base is empty. That one missing inside.
One. [Music] And that is in for a strike in the count. One and two. [Applause] That one to first and it goes just fouled. Oh, this is a good time to step out of the box, take a deep breath, reset. Couple of change ups. Probably won’t see another one here. Next one is off the plate and it’s two and two. That’s the third. Tosses to first. First two batters retired here in the top of the third. Back to the top of the lineup. Next to hit, S freely. Chris, baseball today, so many strikeouts and they are available to pitchers. But this is a guy that puts the bat on the ball and is kind of different from the players that we see day in day out. And there’s a strike. Good heater at 98.
Yeah, his swing is so good. It’s in the zone a long time. He gets the barrel to it a lot and that produces more base hits.
Swing and a miss.
Sing. One of the things that’s interesting is that guys really don’t worry about swing and miss from an offensive standpoint anymore. So when you see somebody Oh, that’s a strike out. And that’ll do it for the unit. Three up, three down for Milwaukee. They trail here one- nothing. [Applause] And we’re back as we go to the last of the third. Stepping in Derek Hill.
Hill. Yeah. And the domino effect of that is running up pitch counts on pitchers and then either getting them to a place of fatigue or getting into the bullpen perhaps before you get to those higher leverage arms at the back end. Looks it away for the out. Now batting the second baseman Xavier back to the top of the Miami order. Xavier Edwards digs in now. He led off the bottom of the first with a single and then came in to score. One of the things that Jim Leland used to say when I was broadcasting with the Marlins, the longer a plate appearance goes for a batter, the more likely it is that something good will happen for the hitter.
That catches the zone for a strike and it’s 0 and two. Fly ball to right. Freighic has a beat on it and puts the squeeze on that one. Out number two,
the right fielder number seven, Jesus. Two outs. Base is empty. Jesus Sanchez the next up for the Marlins. 0 for one. He grounded out in his first at bat. There’s the strike. And a curve is down and in. This one popped up. Foul ground first base side. And that is that. So, no runs, no hits, no errors, and no one left. On to inning number four. It’s the Marlins one and the Brewers nothing. Back here at Lone Depot Park, John Shami with Chris Singleton. And set to lead off the fourth, William Contreras. Little bit low. One ball. No strike. The next pitch misses. Ball two. Well, usually a high level of confidence when you’re facing a young pitcher out there on the mound. In this situation, ahead 20, he’s put himself in a really good spot. Next pitch is outside. Expect for that guy to come right at you with a fast ball. Something in the zone because he does not want to allow the leadoff wall and a seed into center. That’s a base hit and they have their first hit since the first inning.
The center fielder number 11 Jackson dominant performance for him today. Boo. Just two hits allowed so far. No runs across either. and he’s had an answer for just about every hitter he’s faced. So, I don’t think this hit is going to knock him off his stride too much. Jackson Chorio will hit next. Struck out looking his first time. Ball one, no strikes.
Well, here’s a good opportunity in this inning to get on the scoreboard after that leadoff hit. And hardly order coming up right behind them. This is where they need to get going. [Applause] Next pitch is downstairs. Way to lay off that pitch down. And a foul ball makes the count. Two and one. [Applause] in the air left field down the line and that’s a foul ball. [Applause] Next pitch, a slider that misses outside this count. Runner not known for his speed, but I think you got to put him in motion. Try to avoid a double play here. Boo. [Applause] fouled off again and it remains three and two. You can see he was trying to stay back long enough to handle the off speed pitch but just a little tardy on the fast ball and ball four to a board. He’s making things difficult for himself right now out there on the mound, but you know, his confidence should still be high enough to get out of this, but he’s going to have to buckle down right here. First and second, no outs. And the batter now is Ree Hoskins. He’s 0 for one. And a first pitch fastball is in for a strike.
There it was. A high velocity fastball in the zone. And I think a little frustration from walking the previous hitter. He’s got good stuff. Pitch inside the zone and trust it. [Applause] And the swing and the miss and that is a big first out. That was a tough slider right there. He couldn’t get a piece of it just to try to keep the atbat alive. And will tell you that slider when a guy’s able to really tunnel the pitch where it looks like a fast ball and then late has a really good bite. So tough to lay off of because you’ve made the decision you don’t want to get beat by a fast ball and then you swing and you miss. You go back to the dugout shaking your head. Now a chance for Isaac Collins. [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] swinging a foul back and that’s out of play. Contras at second, Chorio at first, one gone. Foul ball left side. He’ll see another swing and a ball lifted in the air.
It’s going to fall for a hit. Throw back in. Holds the runner at third. Base is now loaded. Only one away.
Oh, just a nice job coming through in a pretty high leverage spot right there. That’s a ball that a lot of times you’ll see the shorts stop or left fielder be able to get to if it hangs up in the air long enough, but right there it just died and found a way to drop in on the green stuff with base hit and fouled off. [Applause] Bases loaded, one away. Top half of inning number four. [Applause] on the ground of first. Base hit. One run in already. Another comes in to score. They take the lead. It’s 21.
Well, a big swing of the bat right there. He was definitely late on that pitch, but he didn’t get beat. He got the bat on plane and just kept his hands tight to shoot it down the first baseline for the knock. Eric Hos up now for the Brewers. He’s 0 for one. [Applause] And there’s a ball.
One ball. No strike. First and third. One down. Late on that fast ball. So hard to touch.
Being at the top of the zone. 99, 98, even 97. As pitchers do such a good job of teasing that part of the zone, just elevating a little bit. It Wagamov to second. What a double play that was. Inning over, but two runs for him and they jump ahead to the bottom of inning number four. Now it’s the Brewers two and the Marlins one. Back here in Miami at the plate, Otto Lopez. Well, after putting up a nice inning on offense, got some runs across. This is where you look for the starter to go out there, have a shutdown inning. Don’t give that other team any hope. Uh you just hope that he can get through this inning, get the bats back up there while they’re hot. Next pitch is inside.
One and one. He’s been pitching well, but going through this middle of the order, second time through, we’ll see what kind of adjustments are being made.
Swing and a ball popped in the air that gets down for a hit.
And a good start to the inning. That can be a dangerous pitch if you don’t get it inside enough because as a hitter, you see it coming across the plate the whole way. No problem handling it and putting a good swing on it that time. And now a chance to maybe get creative on offense with good speed on first.
Next is the designated hitter, Augustine Ramirez. Snap throw to first. Lopez dives back in safely. Clips the corner and that is strike one. [Applause] Tap foul at the plate with two strikes. May see some movement over there at first base. Trying to stay out of the double play right here. Hard ground ball for base. lead runner holds up. They’re at first and second with nobody out. Back to back singles. Wasn’t able to elevate that one, but he sure hit it hard enough to get through the infield. There’s not a whole lot of time for the defender to react and try to make a play when it’s ripped like that. Here’s the left fielder, Kyle Sters. He hit into a double play his first time off. Backed off the plate that time. Well, the offense has gotten going and a pitcher wants to go out there, have a real quick inning, get those guys back into the dugout so those bats can stay hot.
First and second here, no outs. Right through there for a strike. And a count one and two. [Applause] gets a piece and stays alive. [Applause] Cuts and misses. It’s a strike out. Definitely made him chase a little bit out of his own right there. I don’t think that’s a strike if he takes it. Pretty textbook pitching. Get ahead in the count. Get the guy in the box on his heels and then force him to chase your pitch where he doesn’t have much of a chance to do any damage.
Eric Wagaban the next up for the Marlins. First time up he grounded to third in the dirt but kept close. No advance. Good job behind the dish. Lopez over at second. Ramirez over at first. So one away. Next offering is in for a strike. [Applause] This one chopped on the ground but foul [Applause] outside with a breaking ball. Tying run in scoring position. We’re here in the bottom of the fourth. [Applause] on the ground. Two ball tags the runner for one and their second double play of the day will end the fourth. No runs on two base hits. No errors and one left on base. Onto the top of the fifth we go. It’s the Brewers two and the Marlins one. Ready now for the fifth inning. Up now for Milwaukee. Joseph Ortiz. And that one fouled off. Next offering down low and in the dirt. [Music] The shorts stop takes a ball. Last couple of pitches breaking balls away. I think he’s going to have to come firm inside to be able to open up that location if he wants to go back there later in this count. And that’s downstairs. And now three balls and a strike. That one misses. So a lead off walk now batting second base Andrew. Next for Milwaukee, Andrew Monasterio 0 for one so far. Monisterio, 27 years old, and he was born in Venezuela. That’s a ball, Chris. With that distraction and a speedy guy at first, he’s in a favorable hitter’s count.
Well, if nothing else, I mean, this is a great spot for a hitter to be in. Ruer at first with no outs here. Pickoff throw. Ortiz back in on a dive. misses off the inside and the count is three and one to short. Could be two. There’s one.
How about that double play? Nice soft hands on the back hand right there in the six hole. Starts the double play. That’s not an easy throw, but he puts it on the money. Really good job to get that double play started. Here’s the leadoff man for the Brewers, Selick. First offering and it just misses. [Music] right through there for a strike. Signs of activity in the pen for the Marlins. Calantrol getting loose out there. Junk warming up as well. Two down. Nobody on. Just missed. That one in the dirt. Three and one now. Two down, nobody on. And we’re in the top of the fifth. In for a strike. And now it’s three and two. [Applause] in the air. Right field. Sanchez sizes this one up. Hauls it into the inning. And welcome back to the ballpark. And here’s the catcher, Liam Hicks. [Applause] And the first offering a fast ball for a strike.
Well, he’s been incredibly efficient in this one. First pitch strike percentage over 70%. That’s well above league average. And that’s what’s allowed him to pitch well up until this point. And the leadoff hitter retired in the fifth. Now batting third baseman Connor Norby. And at the plate for Miami, Connor Norby grounded out his first time up. [Applause] And that one’s a little bit low. And that’s ball one. The Brewers up by a run. Last half of inning number five. Next offering is in for a strike. And a big swing and a miss.
One. Knocks that one away. And we’ll do it again. [Applause] [Applause] Swang and a miss. Struck him out and there’s two away. Bogey just ran out of patience there. He took a couple of pitches to even that count off at two balls and two strikes, but that time chased outside the zone. And up next for Miami, Derek Hill. And that one is downstairs. And that’s ball one. Swinging a foul straight back [Music] on the ground right side. Monisterio three up, three down. Inning over. Nothing doing here this half. We’re through five. It’s the Brewers two and the Marlins one. Calantrol gets handed the rock out of the pen and he’s had his struggles so far this year. As you can see the inflated erra looking to bring that down a little bit right here. Well, one game. Here’s the Brewers DH. William Contrus.
Contras. That misses the zone. Ball one. Miami’s bullpen with some action. Anthony Bender preparing to come on if needed. Foscher also getting ready. And the one called strike. a sinker at the bottom of the zone and that’s off the inside edge and the count. Two and one. Check swing. He went too far and it’s a strike. swing and he breaks his bat. Edwards whips it to first. Now one gone in the top of the six. The center fielder number 11, Jackson Cho.
And now the center fielder Jackson Chio. He is struck out and he is walked. Swing and a miss. Strike one.
One strike. Hit on the ground to Short. Tosses across to first. Two quick outs to open the top of the six.
The first baseman number 12, Reese Hoskins. And here is Hoskins. Bowl for two in this one. Hoskins pushes a foul. Hit on the ground to the right side and foul ball. And now one and two. And that’s a fair ball. Now he’ll turn for second. The throw in. Not going to get him. He’s in there. Well, he found himself behind in the count right there, but he didn’t give in. Anytime you rip a line drive the other way, you feel really good about what you did at the plate. You trusted your hands. You let the ball travel and you took the barrel straight to it. That’s great work right there. And now it’s going to be Isaac Collins off the mark there. And it’s one and0. Hoskins at second with two down to third and it stays fair coming home. He’ll score easily now. Now the tag at second and he’s out trying for two. That ends the inning and stops things from getting out of hand. But they push across one run. Two hits, no errors and no one left on. Top of the order, do up in the home half of the six. It’s the Brewers three and the Marlins won. And we’re back. Well, we go bottom six. Here’s the second baseman. Xavier Edwards shortened a bunt and missed it. It’s 0 and one. You know, these Marlins looking to string together better at bats when they have runners on, but it just hasn’t happened for them yet. They only have one hit with runners in scoring position. So, a lot of squandered opportunities. It’s tough because those are moments you just can’t get back. He was all over that one. Smash that one through the infield for the knock. When it’s hit that hard, it makes it very tough on the infielders to make any sort of play. Jesus Sanchez the next up for the Marlins. That one at the knees for a strike. Now, this team is definitely looking for a big swing of the bat right here. Try to close that gap. But, you know, at the very least, if you could find a way to manufacture that run from first, it feels like it’s really important to getting back into this ball game. Next pitch downstairs and the count even one and one. [Applause] Just missed. and delivers outside. Otto Lopez in the on deck circle hoping to get a chance to make a big impact here on the ground. Could be two over to second for one. Plenty of time at first. That’s a double play.
They made that double play look so easy, but it was hard. That’s the one thing about big leaguers. They make tough plays look simple. Lopez. And now here is Otto Lopez. And that’s him for a strike. And it’s 0 and one. The Marlins trailing by two here in the bottom of the sixth. That one missed. And that’s outside. Two and one in the air to left center. Chorio on the move. Squeezes it and that’s the inning. Top of inning number seven up now for Milwaukee. Number 21. Quattrell back to work. That one a little bit high. Ball one. Yeah, that’s fouled off. [Applause] Fouled off down the right side and a foul ball. He stays alive. Stays alive. Quantrol back to work. Started to go after it. Now a look down to first and he held back according to Dave Lawrence rolled slowly to first. Wagaman had the lead off intercept down to open the seventh. Number 13, Eric. And now the catcher comes up to him, Eric Hos. Hit in the air out to center field. Hill, he makes the catch and there’s two down. The batter number three, shortstop, Joseph.
Two down, base is empty. Joseph Ortiz now at the plate. Just missed. One ball, no strike. [Music] Ripped in the air left field and a touchdown for a base hit. Joey gets on base and keeps it going. The batter number 14.
Next for the Brewers, Andrew Monisterio. Monasterio. Lifted in the air right center field. Sanchez ranging after it. And he makes the catch. And that is that. No runs, one hit, no errors, and a man left. Seventh inning stretch time. It’s the Brewers three and the Marlins won. We’re back in a new pitcher here to start the bottom of the seventh. Abner Uribe.
These are the spots relievers really make a name for themselves late and close. There’s not much margin for error, but at the same time, there’s a reason they’re put in these situations. Ramirez getting ready to He’s a catcher by trade, but the DH here in this one. And a first pitch fast ball is in for a strike.
Pitching has been pretty dominant in this one, but you got to be careful. Not working with too big a lead. They could get right back in this ball game if you’re not careful. Now one and one activity in the bullpen. Grant Anderson up and throwing. the 1-1 fast ball and he gets out of the way. [Music] [Music] Foul ball. Another 2-2 upcoming. Fouled off. And they’ll do it again. That wasn’t an easy pitch to hit. It’s much easier to do damage against mistakes, but that’s not what that pitch was. And that one hit 97 on the gun.
He never moved cuz he never had time to. But that kind of velocity, you’d prefer that pitcher work away. They all pitch. Fights it off. You’ll see another. Oh, he’s desperately looking for that swing and miss. He’s going to have to just change speeds a little bit. Try to move it around. create just a little bit of illusion at the end. The 3-2 is outside and it’s ball four and that’ll bring the tying run to the plate. When you go that deep into a bat, the hitter usually comes out.
Kyle Stard the next up for the Marlins. Yeah, there’s the strike.
No, one strike. [Applause] Swing and a miss. And the count is 0 and two. Sometimes being lucky is a swing and miss. If he makes contact with that pitch, probably hits into a double play and misses inside. That’s a really good take right there. Slider down and in. Very difficult to get on the same plane and do anything with [Applause] the one two misses to even the count. These first two hitters really making him work out there. Already 14 pitches this inning. Tying run at the plate. Got him swinging. It’s a strike out. Blew the express right by his bat for strike three.
Oh, you got to be pretty quick with the bat speed these days. So many guys throwing in the upper 90s. And you see the velocity on that one. Just tough to catch up to. I mean, guys are coming in and they’re going max effort. They’re not looking to go a long distance. They want to get as many strikeouts as they possibly can. Now at the plate, Eric Wagaban. [Music] [Applause] The tying run at the plate. That’s in there. And the count even at one. Dangerous spot for that slider right there. Didn’t seem to quite finish out front and get that sharp break. Tell you what, he doesn’t want to throw that pitch again. got the bat going too soon at strike two.
Clearly was sitting on a fast ball right there and just ended up out in front of the slider. Hey, you can’t fault him for his commitment. Now he’s just going to have to battle with two strikes. Pulls it down and he makes the catch. Two away. The catcher number 34 Leah. Here comes the manager out of the dugout and he’ll make a move for the bullpen. Abner out of the game. two-run ball game as he heads for the dugout. And we’ll be back with a new pitcher. Now pitching for
So the Brewers bring on a new pitcher from the pen, DL Hall. Well, he’s been a really tough guy to take deep this season. You usually have to string some hits together in order to get to him. And now Liam Hicks. A
little surprised we don’t see a pinch hitter here, but the lefty lefty matchup. Swaging a ball hit out towards left center field. Collins makes a nice running catch. One left for Miami. Score holds. It’s 3-1. now pitching forward.
Welcome back and a new arm on the mound to start the eighth. Anthony Bender.
He’s certainly been one of their better relief pitchers this season. The numbers are really solid, so they feel great about handing the ball over to him. Back to the top of the order now. Here’s the leadoff man for the Brewers. S Freelick 0 for three with two flyyous and a strikeout. A swing and a miss and that’s strike one. It’s good speed at the top of the order here. You want to get it on. See if you can get a stolen base. Maybe get around the bases and pick up a run.
That misses the zone and the count is one and one. That one pushed foul. That missed by a lot. Two balls, two strikes. Started after it. Appeal to third and he went around. Rule the swing. Now back.
And now it’s William Contras. Contras. And that drops in for a strike. Movement in the bullpen. Jansen Junk appears to be getting ready and I’m sure he’s feeling some nerves. This would be his major league debut. [Music] That one to first. He takes it on his own. Two up, two down here in the top of the eighth.
Now batting the center fielder, Jackson Chio. Next for Milwaukee, Jackson Chio delivers a pitch in for a strike at 95. That’s good pitch there. Really had some run and finished little up and end just on the edge. And that’s one of those if you swing at it. He had a broken bat as you jog back to the dugout. And one and two. [Music] That’s down and in. Two down, nobody on. And we’re in the top of the eighth. Three balls. Two strike. [Music] Hit in the air center field. Hill drifts towards it and makes the play and that’s out number three. Bottom of the eighth now to third base Conor Norton.
Third base Conor
Hall 26 years old, a former first round pick back in 2017. There’s a strike [Applause] and that’s in the dirt. [Applause] The one-1 is fouled off. Here’s a one-two. And that’s a little bit high. Boo. I’m not sure how he took that right there. I mean, that was an incredible two- strike pitch. Gets a piece there. We’ll do it again. swings and misses. It’s a strike out. Went back to the fast ball and it was effective. Pretty good pitch top of the strike zone. We’re seeing more fast balls in that location. Hitters, especially with two strikes, have to be ready to pull the trigger. And now for the Marlins. Derek Hill. Check swing. Did he go? Yes, he did.
Oh, and one. [Applause] And that is downstairs. And it’s a one and one. Lefty continues to work, but the closer getting loose in the bullpen.
Swing and a miss. Now he’s in a one-two hole. Strike three. And that’s two in a row. And Chris, that’s a way to neutralize his speed by keeping him off balance. And the defense breathes a sigh of relief because he puts pressure on everyone if he can put the ball in play. But that’s how you do it. Keep him off balance. get him out of there and deal with the next guy.
And here comes the Brewers manager to the mound. Pitching change coming. DL Hall departs. We’ll be back in a minute with a new arm on the mound. Now pitching for Anderson gets the call from the
He’s been so good against lefties. Anderson. So, two down now and here is Xavier Edwards. Pitch misses. One and0. The Brewers holding on to a two-run lead here in the bottom half of the eighth inning. So, two balls and no strikes. You got this. That one pushed foul out of play. Off to the left comes a two- two. Keeps the bat going with a foul ball. Next offering way off the plate. Jesus Sanchez waiting in the undeck circle. They can get him up. He’d represent the tying run. So critical pitch right here. Fouls that off to the left and we’ll do it again. Eighth pitch of the bat coming up. That’s foul off to the right side. Keeps the AB going. Well, he’s having a tough time getting a pitch by him. As a hitter, you feel pretty confident that you’re seeing different pitches still able to make some type of contact.
Light drive brings it in for the third out. And the Marlins down quietly and they still trail it here. Three to one. All set to start the ninth in this one. Reese Hoskins to the plate. [Applause] That misses and that’s ball one. Doublebarreled action in the bullpen. Valente Beoo up and loosening in the pen. Number 66 getting cranked up as well. [Applause] Called strike right there. Next pitch misses inside. Two and one. Center field. Hill under it and out. Number one on the grab. Up next for Milwaukee,
Isaac Collins. up now for the Brewers.
Collins [Applause] and ball one. Fouled off to the right. Base is empty. One away here in the top of the ninth. That one missing inside. hammered base hit. So, a man aboard now with one away. Here’s the third baseman. [Applause] First pitch just misses. [Applause] hit in the air right field. Sanchez gets under it, pulls it in and there’s two away. The catcher number 13, Eric Ah,
and the batter now, Eric Hos 0 for three in this one. [Applause] That one in the dirt and gets away. So, a wild pitch allows the runner to advance.
Nobody on defense feels great right now. The pitcher feels responsible for missing so far outside. And the catcher wishes he could have done more to try to stop it. [Applause] Man on second, two down. Swinging a ground ball towards first, but foul. [Applause] So a foul ball makes it one and two. Collins at second with two down. and he hits a ground ball right side, tosses to first and that’s the third out. So, no runs here on a base hit, no errors and one left. 234 set to hit in the bottom of the ninth. It’s the Brewers three and the Marlins won. Back now and on the mound a closer Trevor McIll.
Left-handed batter at the plate and he’s been excellent in those matchups this year. So this seems like a calculated move.
McIll. Now here is Jesus Sanchez.
The right fielder Jesus Sanchez. [Applause] That clips a corner. Next offering is in for a strike. Back door him with a breaking ball. Just got the corner. There’s nothing you can really do with that. And that one is in the dirt. And the count one and two [Applause] in the air fairly deep to right field. Freigh has a beat on it and there’s one down. Up next for the Marlin. Two outs away. Otto Lopez digs in now. That one called a strike. One. The fish down by a pair here in the last half of inning number nine. Pitch misses and one and one.
One and one. One down, base is empty. And they’ll do it again. [Applause] The shorts stop takes the ball. [Applause] [Music] And that one hammered. That’s back there. Off the sculpture. It’s a home run. That did some damage. That one felt good. His ninth homer of the year. It’s 3-2. That one just sounded different. And it might have been the loudest moment yet. Man, my ears are ringing. I can feel that swing from the booth. That one was a hanger and pitchers typically don’t get away with making a mistake like that. And right there he made him pay here in the bottom of the ninth. One out. Augustine Ramirez the next to hit. 99 with that two seamer. And that misses one ball, one strike. [Applause] And that one fouled off. Swings and misses. Struck him out. And the Marlins with just one out left. That’s tough. You see it. I mean, that was clearly up and out of the strike zone. But that’s one of the hardest things.
And when you see a pitch out of the hand at eye level, that discipline to remember I can’t hit that pitch. If I can see it really well at eye level, I can’t catch up to that pitch when a pitcher’s got this kind of velocity. Next to hit, Kyle Stard. And that’s a little bit high. Ball one. Just missed.
Oh, an interesting situation. One swing, it can tie up the ball game. But if you’re patient and work a walk, then you bring the game-winning run to the plate. Check swing called strike. Well, so many hardth throwing relievers in the game these days, you would think that hitters have made the adjustment, but I don’t know if you ever get used to it. Just pumping gas out of the bullpen. So hard to play catchup.
Trying to close out a one-run lead. And the home team trying to pull it out. Swing and a miss. And that’s the ball game.
Well, he does a nice job of coming in and getting the save. He made a mistake with the pitch. Gave up the solo home run, but he maintained his focus to push through to the finish line.
A 32 final score in this one for Chris Singleton and our entire crew. I’m John Shambi saying so long.

What am I watching? Obviously it’s AI. But, is it based on an actual game? What’s going on here?
