CANUCKS POTENTIAL WINGER TARGETS | NHL NEWS/RUMORS

Hey guys, what’s going on? It’s Jacob Doodle here. So, I thought it’d be a pretty fun idea to do a couple videos here. One focusing on the wingers and the other one focusing on a second line center. The easier one would probably be the wingers. So, let’s start with that. Before we start though, I got to say thank you to everybody. Our goal was to hit 100 subs. We broke that goal already. We’re moving on to 500. And now, let’s talk about it. Victor Olivesson, my first name, left winger. Now, I understand we are looking right now mostly for a center, but these are some potentially cheaper options on the wing if the Conucks want to add some more depth pieces or players that I believe can either bring leadership in the room or potentially at least get a few points. The first name on my list I had was Victor Olivesson. Now, none of these are specifically in order and they all kind of have their own little bit of traits. And yes, I do understand we’re gonna have a lot of the young AHL guys come up next season like Carlson and Sassin and Ratu and that’s what I want to see. But for the sake of the video and potentially maybe they might be looking for more depth, I’m doing this. So first of all, 511 180 pounds Victor Olivesson. And this is going to be coming a like kind of a theme here. I’m going to be looking mostly for shooters. I want people that are confident to shoot the puck, score goals, guys who are shifty, and when they have a chance, kind of finish it. And that’s exactly what Victor Olivesson is. He’s not the best defensively. He’s not the best playmaker in the world. Doesn’t maybe have the greatest motor, but when he gets in offensive positions, he scores. He had 15 goals and 14 assists, 29 points, plus 17 in 56 games last year. This is someone that I believe could be fit pretty nicely on the left side either on the third line or even on the second line if they really wanted to move some people around. Now of course we have Kane on that left side and we have the Brusk on that left side. So it’s just something to think about. Next player is Jeff Skinner. You know he had up and down playoffs for the Oilers. He was sat a bunch of games. You know even during the regular season he was just kind of up and down. But the guy does have a decent motor and once again he can score. This is another shooter. There’s another scoring type player. Again, I don’t think he would cost an arm and a leg. And this is going to be a theme with all these guys. All these guys I’m about to name, I don’t think are going to be really expensive. Probably Olivesson will probably be the most expensive out of all of them. Now, would Skinner come here? Who knows, man? He went with the Oilers. They went on a crazy cup run and some of these other names have some kind of ties to organizations as well. But again, 16 goals, 13 assists, 29 points. Something to look at. 5’11, 200 lb. Just think about it. Next up, we have Max Patcher ready, guys. I I know what you’re going to say, guys. Super old, but we need leadership in this locker room. This has been a reoccurring theme now for years now. Especially last season, it was an absolute disaster. our locker room. Why not bring in potentially someone like Max Patcheri? He can be your third, fourth liner, more probably fourth liner to be to be safe. Probably fourth liner. And he doesn’t have to play every game. He’ll play probably half the season. And in the playoffs, guys, he he had some good stats. He scored some goals. He put up some decent numbers in the playoffs. And in 37 games in the regular season, he had 13 points, five goals, eight assists. Just someone to look at. again he’s 6’2 also 217 pounds got he’s more of a leadership kind of guy and here’s a complete gamble he used to be in the organization Carone now it’s I always forget if it’s Carone or Carone I know he likes to switch it up once in a while when people pronounce his names but he’s 5 foot n so big he’s 182 pounds shoots left he had 19 points seven goals 12 assists now this is not one of those shooter types I was talking about this is more of a real true depth guy, but he does have offensive offensive talent. And the one thing this guy has a lot more than all the other three guys I mentioned is this guy has a motor. This guy has a motor to him. He really plays fast and strong when it comes to skating specifically. Probably the best skater out of all of the guys I’ve mentioned. So, those are the wingers I’m kind of looking at. Again, guys, these are like we don’t really need a winger. It’s always nice to have some depth. Out of all those guys because of that fact alone, I would probably want to go with the locker room guy and go maybe with Max Patcher here. He would be super cheap if he actually wanted to come here and he would bring a lot of leadership in that locker room and he would he wouldn’t be playing a regular shifts with us. So, I think it would be kind of nice to see him around and he can also mentor a lot of the young guys that we do have like Carlson, like Sassin and Ratu and and of course Leer Maki. So, just something to think about for the wingers. And now we’re going to be talking a little bit about the centers. Thanks for watching the video, guys. I really appreciate it. Subscribe, like, you know the drill. Thanks, guys. Cheers.

  1. I think with Raty and Karlsson not having waivers exemption means we have to move out wingers to ensure they can stay on the lineup. Both these guys are likely better to bring up than any of your suggestions. Bains as well, if he is good enough at camp… Sasson is still waivers exempt so we can keep him in Abby safe for callups on injuries. We have too many "veterans" if you consider 28-33 yr olds. Kane can be the token Vet who can be in the pressbox if needed 🤭plus we have 🦒
