Highlights from ALL games on 7/6! (Judge homers in Yanks win vs. Mets, Wheeler dominant, and MORE!)
Yeah, he just struck out the side. Four strikeouts for Zack. One, two, three go the Reds. Nine up, nine down. 11 pitches. He’s minimizing his pitch count.
Opposite way. Solo shot spoils the perfecto and it’s one- nothing Reds. The former Philly slingshot Cincinnati ahead. Marsh is already round third heading for home. RBI double for Schwber. And we’re tied up at one. Strikeout number 11 today. A masterful performance from Zack Wheeler who has given up one hit through eight innings. And now the Phillies try to get him some runs as we go to the bottom of the eighth. It’s a 1-1 game.
That one’s hit well deep to right field. It is G. Twerun home run for Bryson Sto. And the Phillies have taken the lead here in the bottom of the eighth inning. He’s allowed one base runner today. That’s it. One over the minimum. Trying for his fifth complete game. Swing and a foul tip. One away.
A dozen strikeouts today for Zack Wheeler.
Little looper out towards second. Caught by stop. Two outs. This should do it. Makes the catch. A complete game for Zack Wheeler. He faced one over the minimum. His fifth career complete game. and he was incredible this afternoon. Now, Zack Pomp makes his Mets debut facing Austin Wells in the third.
A long home run into the second deck. Yankees won. Mets nothing. Just over the wall into the seats. A two-run home run for Judge. And it is five nothing Yanks.
And he hits one up the middle. That’s a base hit. Lindore completes a pair. And the Mets get right back in. And it’s now five to2. And now it’s five to three and the bases remain loaded with nobody out.
And now Hayden Sanger and Sanger hits a double play ball to short. Gold feed to second. Lay the first low throw but scooped out by Goldmid. In to score comes Mauricio. It’s now five to four, but the Yankees get two outs and one whacks one to left field and Bellinger makes a brilliant shoestring catch. The door is still first base. Oh wow. Bellinger with a fantastic shoestring grab and he doubles Lindor off first. Oh my word. And the pitch.
Did he go around? Yes, he did. Ball game over and the Yankees take the final game of this three game set. Six to five. Williams works a one, two, three. Bottom of the ninth.
Red Sox have been getting out in front quickly lately. Roman Anthony doing it again. an RBI hit and it is one- nothing Red Sox. And a left field a massive tworun homer for Trevor Story. Say done say goodbye. Another homer in DC and it is 63 Red Sox.
All right. Okay, well the top story right now, the Nationals have fired GM Mike Rizzo and manager Dave Martinez, who led the franchise to its first World Series victory in 2019. The Nats fell to 37 and 53 earlier today after getting swept at home by the Red Sox. But as we saw from ownership in the statement, Abby, saying that a new direction, new energy is needed and the Nationals are getting at it at a time where maybe not a lot of people expected an announcement like this across Major League Baseball.
Another brilliant start against the Guardians. 16 shutout innings with 22 strikeouts and no walks in two starts against Cleveland this year for Scooble.
10 more strikeouts today for Scooble. And so Scoo now has struck out 10 or more six different times here in 2025. My goodness, folks, he is special. Cleveland won Detroit. McKinstry at third, two down in the ninth. Tigers down to their last strike. That slightly gets away. McKinstry was coming down the line on the pitch and he scores. Zack was running from third on the pitch and Zack McKinstry ties the game and the Tigers have blown it open. They now lead it 5 to one. Bottom line, it’s 5 to one Detroit. Still nobody out. Riley Green’s first hit against Cleveland this year. It’s a Tiger uppercut and it’s 71.
314 over his last 10 games. 26y old in his third season. Now goes up the middle. There’s Kim again. A jump throw. Jaderesque. Wow. Human highlight reel. Hess on Kim. For the seventh time in his last eight games at Dodger Stadium, Christian Walker has homerred deep to left center field. Backto back jacks. It’s four to one. Yiner Diaz number 12 on the season. He has home runs in back-to-back games. Now a chance for Pete Crow Armstrong. The All-Star delivers his 67th RBI to make it one- nothing Chicago. And the King delivers. Kyle Tucker brings in two. It’s three nothing Cubs. And the Allstar has been named to the team and now has a new careerhigh in strikeouts. He’s got nine of them. Boy, on a Sunday night.
Deep fly ball to the right center off the man of Seya. Back near the wall. Sea Suzuki with a solo home run to right center and the Cubs now lead 11 to nothing.
What’s so interesting when you look at how this Padre lineup is constructed that Luis Arise is hitting cleanup
back through the middle. Arise a single into center around third is Tatis and we have a tie ball game. A two out RBI single and Arise lines sharply over third down the left field line into the corner. Trenton Brooks trots home
and a two-run double for Fernando as the Padres’s lead for the first time tonight.
Threw into center. Johnson rounding third. Bryce Johnson scores. Jake Cron with the two out RBI hit. 4-1 Padres’s.
Newly named Allstar Paul Skins with 10 strikeouts through five innings in Seattle. And it’s a cold third strike at the bottom of the zone with a fast ball. Ski with his 10th strikeout. Six of them looking. We go to the sixth. Scoreless game. Bottom half of the sixth inning. Two count.
Out to left field. Really driven back and the Mariners have taken the lead on yet another Randy Rosarena home run. His sixth home run this home stand. Incredible.
Among those eight hits for Trout against Gossman, three are home runs, although he hasn’t seen him in 5 years. It lands in the bullpen and opposite field fly for Trout. A first inning homer and the Angels lead one- nothing.
And Bette hits a fly ball deep left field and that is gone. Line to left and that’s a base hit. In to score is Bett. It’s an RBI single for Davis Schneider to give the Blue Jays the lead.
Well, Byron Buckton has an Allstar for the second time in his career.
Back it goes and that is gone. Another leadoff home run. Number 20 for Byron Buckton. Coming home to score is Jose Caviierro. And the Rays are back on top. It’s two to one here in the fourth inning. And Yandi Diaz cruises into second base with an RBI double. And it’s 54 Tampa Bay. Now walked with the bases loaded his first time up. So another run batted in for Willie Adam. That’s the only run of the game. That one is blasted out to left center field. Denzel Clark back at the wall. It is gone. Willie Adamus has come to life at the plate. His 11th home run of the year. It’s two nothing Giants. Fitzgerald drives one deep left field and it’s going to be not caught and it goes over the wall. Tyler Serstrom had it and it bounced off his glove and ricocheted off the top of the wall and over the wall. Maybe not quite shades of Joseé Conco, but the ricochet home run for Fitzgerald makes it six to one.
Here is Bobby Wit Jr. He struck out his first time up. Bobby Wit Jr. gives the Royals a one- nothing lead. His 12th home run. Salvador Perez unloads on Anthony Dcl and doubles the Royals lead. It’s two nothing.
Michael Lorenzan has given the Royals seven scoreless innings. Just what the doctor ordered, Michael, for getaway day. Hello, baby.
Let’s see if he can put a charge into something and get the Brewers on the board.
Yes, sir. Goodbye. Hit of the bullpen. A two-run home run by Jacksonio. Brandon Woodruff through six strong in Miami. He’s allowed one run on just two hits and eight strikeouts for Big Woo. What a return to the bumper.
One down. Back to the top of the order to Jackson Holiday. Jackson Holiday gets the scoring started on a Sunday with a two-run homer and that one eekes out of here and the Braves are on the board. Solo Murphy grounded to second. This should do it and the Orioles sweep the Braves. Dominguez gets the job done in the ninth.
Mickey Monia leading off this afternoon. Moniac in center field hitting lead off and drives it to right. Got a chance to go. See you later. Touch him all time. Mickey Moniac, Michael Tolia. Touch him all time. His first homer in three weeks. And it comes in a big time for the Rockies. For more on these and other stories, keep it locked to mlb.com. It’s baseball everywhere.
