MELTDOWN: New York Yankees SPIRAL Out of Control | Should Boone SURVIVE the All-Star Break?
You want to give me the rest stuff because Jad Chisen Jr. also out of the lineup on Sunday. They have an off day tomorrow, Stacy. And then the All-Star break is a week from then. That there is no reason for guys to be resting now. Specifically when you’re on a six-game losing streak. Stacy, they got a win to finalize the series, but does it feel like they’re winning currently? No, we’re going to talk about that in a bit. On today’s show, we’ll take a look around the league. We’ll even briefly discuss, even though I didn’t put it in the rundown, we’re going to briefly discuss what the Yankees have ahead of them until the All-Star break because it’s two big series and could be make or break time if it hasn’t been already. We’re also going to discuss the past few weeks of this play. You know, it’s great that they won on Sunday, but there’s a real problem with this team, and we’re going to dive into it in segment two. But first, let’s talk about the weekend. Here’s my feeling about the weekend. If they had lost two out of three, but didn’t lose the previous four to Toronto, like they split in Toronto or you know what I mean, and it they weren’t on a long losing streak, it wouldn’t bother me that they lost two out of three to the Mets in Queens because the Mets lost two out of three to the Yankees in the Bronx in May. You know what I mean? But the fact that they were riding this horrible streak, plus they had a horrible streak before that. We’ve had two six-game losing streaks this season. Two the best.
And they’re both in the last month.
Yeah. The best team in baseball doesn’t do that. Aaron Boone. It just it doesn’t. So, while I’m glad they won the game on Sunday, it’s just it’s incredible to me these two losing streaks. The one losing streak was they couldn’t hit, right? The pitching was amazing and they couldn’t hit. This losing streak, they were hitting fine for the most part. They scored a bunch of runs in a bunch of games, but the bullpen or starters depending on the the G it’s just this whole weekend was just so odd to watch. And was I the only one who when they were up five nothing on S Sunday afternoon, I I wasn’t the only one thinking to myself, they could possibly blow this.
Well, I have a perfect analogy for that. You’re a New York Giants fan, right? when it comes to football.
Yes.
You know, the last couple of years when the Giants would go up in a game and it got to the fourth quarter and another team started driving and you just knew they were going to find a way to lose the game. You knew somehow someway they were going to find a way to lose.
Yeah.
The the difference is the Giants are are a general bad football team, especially over the last five years. They’ve been an awful football team, one of the worst in the league. Yes.
The New York Yankees are starting to have that feeling. And I agree with you. On Sunday, me and you both exchanged a text on the fifth or sixth inning. How they going to lose this game? It just felt like a guarantee they were going to find a way. And Stacy, they did everything imaginable to try and do that. Between the Pete Alonzo home run and the Met the Mets putting runners on base every inning, constant pressure, they really really And I’m going to be quite honest with you, if Cody Bellinger doesn’t make an outstanding play in left field, they probably do lose the game. If hits a triple there, they probably lose the game because all the momentum goes over to the Mets. The Mets tie the game and it’s it’s
back to square one.
That was the game- saving play. That
was an unbelievable play. By the way, Cody Bellinger deserves his credit. That was an unbelievable play.
But can I ask you this? And I know Cody Bellinger’s been great.
Hasn’t played a lot of left field this year.
Why is Dominguez not playing there?
Why is Dominguez not an everyday player that’s playing there? If you’re looking for development for a guy that’s been probably your best hitter over the last two or three weeks, why is he not in the lineup? He was good enough to lead off on Friday.
He’s in the lineup on Saturday and then he’s not playing on Sunday. You want to give me the rest stuff because Jack Chism Jr. also out of the lineup on Sunday. They have an off day tomorrow, Stacy. And then the All-Star break is a week from then. That there is no reason for guys to be resting now. Specifically when you’re on a six-game losing streak. If you want if you won the first two games against the Mets and you split in Toronto and you’re playing fine baseball and you want to reward those guys with a day off and they get two in a row, dad at it. Absolutely. That is not a luxury you provide your team when you stink as bad as the Yankees have stunk over the last two weeks, three weeks, month, whatever you want to call it, right?
It’s basically a finish up with this because because they they lose two out of three to the Mets. I know they won the last game. I’m really not going to focus on the win because in the grand scheme of things, the win isn’t that impressive because the team has played god awful. Didn’t play well in the last game. And by the way, you win that game coming into the series. You know who was the actual worst team in baseball the last month?
The Mets.
The New York Mets, right?
And the Yankees were the second worst team. So let’s let’s
The combined records of the Yankees and the Mets in the last month, and I swear to God, look this up.
The combined record of the Yankees and Mets in the last month is worse than the combined record of the Colorado Rockies and Chicago White Socks over the last month. That’s atrocious and pathetic on both New York squads, but specifically the Yankees because that’s what we talk about here.
I don’t you you want to give luxury to lineup changes when the team is playing well. When you go back to the the years past where they’ve won crazy games and they’ve they’ve they’ve been on pace with the 98 team, you want to give those teams luxuries and days off have had it. I have they’ve earned those guys have earned that. You don’t give guys days off and luxuries when you have the next day off and they’ve lost six in a row. I don’t understand how we’re doing that. Plus, the news comes out later in the day that Jazz Chisum has been dealing with shoulder pain the last couple of weeks now. You had him train all year at second base, all offseason at second base. He complains of shoulder pain and you keep him at third base where the longer throw is provided to be made.
It makes literally absolutely zero sense. Like you’re begging for another injury on the squad. It makes no sense. The organization right now is broken. There’s no communication between the players, the ownership, the GM, and the and the manager. Nothing is going right. I would love to sit here right now and call for the manager’s job. I’m done with doing that, Stacy. It’s not helpful. They’re not going to get rid of him. His job’s not going anywhere. His job is as safe as anybody else’s job out there in a definitive position. He’s going absolutely unbelievably nowhere. And I as as as heart-wrenching as that is to admit, he’s going nowhere. I don’t know what else to give you with this team because they are heading into a really really dark path potentially, they don’t get Freda Rodon in the Mariners series because because they they’ve used them in the Met the Met series. The Mariners are throwing all of their best pitchers, including Brian Woo, who’s going to play in the All-Star game. So that that’s what they have to face. Then they go to Chicago to face the best offense in all of baseball. Have at it. enjoy yourselves because they could be going into the All-Star break on a worse direction than they were last year,
right?
And that’s really saying something because remember last year’s All-Star break, they were pitiful going into the All-Star break. It could be worse this year.
It’s a pattern.
Even if they don’t lose a series before the All-Star game, they lose that Sunday game in a horrific way. Like last year was the Ben Rice the big home run. Yeah. And then what did Verdugo screw up that play in left field in in Camden Yards? Was that
right? I’m not conflating that with something else. Yeah. And then there was that series against Houston in was it 2021 where they were up big and Gary Sanchez was wearing the coat and they were doing all this stuff and then Houston came back and walked off on them and it was just embarrassing. And that’s why I said last week to keep an eye on especially the Cub series heading into the All-Star break to see what actually happens there because it could be really bad.
This is not a good baseball team. It’s not that there there’s a there’s an insane and there’s talent here, but there’s an insane lack of leadership at both levels. I’m sorry. And and his numbers are outstanding and he’s an all-time great player. We’re not remotely taking that away from him. Aaron Judge is not a great leader. He’s not. He’s a an unbelievable generational baseball player and I don’t want to take that away from him and he deserved the captain mantle when they gave it to him at the trade at the uh at free agency that year. 100% not taking that away from the player but as a leader he I’m sorry Stacy he’s been at the helm of the captaincy for the Yankees while all this is going on too. I know we’re going to put a lot of the blame on Aaron Boon and deservedly so but Aaron Judge has been the captain of this team when a lot of these swoons have gone on too. And if the manager’s not going to do it, he hasn’t taken the team and said, “Hey, boys, let’s go. Show some urgency.” Again, we’ve discussed this a thousand times. You could sit at your local watering hole. We could talk about it on lockdown Yankees. You could have a conversation with your with your uncle outside at the barbecue about how bad this team is and how ah it’s just a June series. They’re struggling in July. Ah, it’s fine. Wait till October. We can all do that. It’s the job of the players in that clubhouse and the manager and the general manager to keep the urgency going throughout the entire regular season and the Yankees don’t do that. You want to get complacent about getting to October, Stacy, they might not get there at this rate. It’s just it’s not fun watching them. It’s not fun knowing that this happens every year and that, you know, it’s just it’s and I know people say that Yankee fans shouldn’t complain because this is one thing that I saw this weekend that really drove me crazy. The same people who make fun of the Yankees for doing badly also say something about Yankee fans when we complain about certain things like, “Oh, you know, you root for the Yankees. You know, you’re you’re such brats complaining. I root for the White Socks and this and that. And it’s like, yeah, but why can’t we complain when our team doesn’t play well, like especially because our team spends over $300 million on payroll and every year we go through the same swoon every year. The boon swoon. We’re just going to call it the boon swoon at this point because it just happens every year with him.
And there’s almost no accountability. It’s all, “Oh, we’ll get out of it.” Really? the best the best comment throughout the weekend and everyone’s heard it and we haven’t really dwelled on it because we don’t need to is stating that every single good team goes through stretches like this.
No, they don’t.
And and that it’s a Exactly. It’s a complete and utter lie. And the the only ones who have told themselves that, by the way, are the actual New York Yankees. Nobody in the media is saying that. Nobody in the papers, the radio, the podcast formats, no one is saying that. Not even the damn pre and postgame show are admitting that. No one is saying that except for the team. If you don’t think that’s a problem with leadership, you got another thing coming because that is the definition of complacency. A and no accountability. They all think this is normal. They all think good teams go on yearly sixgame losing streaks, two in a month. No good team does that. The Los Angeles Dodgers lost 18-1 the other day at home to the Houston Astros. There were people going absolutely crazy saying this is not a good baseball team is back. And we all know that’s not true. You know what they did the next day? Otani came out, threw a couple shutout innings, they hit a couple home runs, they won another game because that’s what teams like that do. They get back on the horse and they get back going. They lose embarrassing in embarrassing fashion. Sure, every team’s going to do that, but they get they have good leadership. They get the boys together and they rally and they win another game and they get they get back going. They they throw that game away. The Yankees seem to act like, “Oh, every team goes through losing 19 of 27.” That’s a normal thing. It’s not. No championship caliber team does this. They don’t.
No.
Crazy.

So, get those questions in by then. You know what’s crazy, Stacy, is I never really envisioned that after the Subway Series weekend, especially Fourth of July when the schedule came out late last year, I would have never thought that we would not be discussing Yankees Met’s Fourth of July weekend on that Monday about just how much fun the series was, how maybe even discussion about the hats, anything that remotely could have happened to that series. And instead, we come out of it after a win specifically complaining and whining about how bad this team is and how awful this team plays. And you know, you’re right. Like this is as bad of a stretch as they could possibly imaginably be going through right now. Honestly, I don’t relate this as bad to any single stretch they’ve been going through over the last couple of years. Any of the swoons, I think this is the worst one. I really do. This is as bad as I’ve seen them play in the last decade through a stretch of time. It’s just that they’re they’re non-competitive in all their games. It’s an unbelievably talented team. I I’ll make this one point and I don’t think it’ll happen. So don’t take this from me and and twist this as in oh I said this is going to happen or this might happen. This is not what I’m saying might happen. Just going to throw it out there because I’d love to see it happen. If they fired Aaron Boone after the All-Star break, I do think this team has potential to have a jolt given to it because there is talent on this roster. There is talent on this team. there is potential that they could revamp things and get things going. And one of the main things Aaron I would replace him immediately with Matt Blake. One of the main things Aaron Boon struggles with this year specifically is the bullpen because he completely gassed the bullpen in the first two months of the year. I’d replace him with Matt Blake almost immediately. Not saying that’ll happen, but would you agree that if it did happen, this team does have the potential to turn things around? Um, yeah. I mean, you you sometimes see it happen, right? Um, it’s happened with Yankee teams in the past when George was in charge and he fired people and then usually Billy Martin and then the team would go on a run and they’d be okay. Um,
the one I relate this to the most is a couple of years ago when the Phillies let go Joe Gerardy in the middle of the season and they replaced him with Rob Thompson and the team took off. That team went to the World Series that year. Um, it got Thompson in extension and that team is basically the same team that it’s been with all that talent on it. It had the capability of getting to the World Series. It got to the World Series. They lost in the World Series, but that was a really talented team that wasn’t playing up up to expectations. And the Yankees feel the same way. Do I think they’re going to the World Series? No. And I think they’re going to fire Boone also no. I’m just saying there’s potential here for them to be able to potentially make a run if they were willing to let go of Aaron Boon. Don’t think it’s going to happen.
One quick thing. What did you think about the hats? I loved them. I actually loved them. I love these new hats with the string going across the front that everyone’s uh wearing nowadays. I I actually love that. I’m not sure that I might get one and I don’t usually get the Fourth of July hat because I just feel like it’s a money uh grab. But I think uh you didn’t like them or did you like them? I liked I feel like a lot of years they do screw it up. So this year I actually did like it. But the best to me were the ones a couple years ago where they had the regular hats with the stars and stripes in the middle of the logo.
That I thought were the best one.
Yeah. Yeah, but we haven’t seen those in.
I kind of like when they don’t mess with the hat and they just do something to um the logo and not change the entire color of the hat. You know what I mean? I don’t know. It was fine.
Yeah. The the and this is the main takeaway I think from the weekend too is the complacency within the organization I think is the biggest thing. And and I I don’t I we’re not going to sit here George Steinber died how many years ago now?
15. We’re not going to sit here and thank you. We’re not going to sit here and give you the, “Oh, what would a George run team do?” Uh, that argument is so overplayed and and and yes, Hal and George are different people. Not every father and son are the same person. We can’t expect Hal to be the same person as his father.
Yeah, Hank father.
But this would never fly under George’s. Aaron Boon would have been I love when people give me the Aaron Boom would have been fired a few weeks ago or after this series, after this game, after this game after would have been fired a few years ago. Exactly. That’s that’s the argument.
Yeah.
Exactly. So there would be no no this extension of leeway is is completely unfathomable when it comes to a George Steinber run organization. So let’s get that all out of our heads. I do want to say though when George ran the team fish rots from the head just like uh it does well from the head I guess because from organizationally down and they were they were run by Brian Cashman at the time too. There was an electric amount of accountability within the organization. Every single player held themselves accountable. And when you heard Aaron Judge speak the other day about the Yankees and basically recite that, oh, good teams do this all the time. Good teams are going to lose six in a row all the time. This happens all the time. When it doesn’t, I want you guys to hear what a what another Yankee captain had to say when they were going through a prolonged losing streak years ago. That’s that’s the plan. And I mean, we got a long way to go. You take it one day at a time. Yeah, we’ve hit a rough stretch, but um we got a lot of games left, but we need to play better. I mean, we need to pitch, hit, play better defense. We need to do all those things. Calls the entire team out, keeps everybody accountable, the hitting, the pitching, the fielding, the base running, all of it, every single aspect of the game is held accountable. Acknowledges they are playing terrible baseball at the moment, but also keeps the confidence up saying we are a good team and we will play better. That is how you respond. Not everything, and keep this out of the baseball conversation for a second. Not everything in life is all peaches and roses. You’re going to go through some really tough times. And we’ve all been there. We’ve all We’ve all dealt with it. Specifically, not in sports. Sports are about peaks and valleys, but you need to keep the confidence up and you need to acknowledge when your team is not good enough. You can’t just keep saying everything is wonderful. When bad things happen to you in life, Stacy, do you sit back and go, “Yeah, but everything’s still great and we’re gonna keep moving on.” No.
No.
Sit in your own filth sometimes and think about how much life stinks at times and how you get through things. The Yankees don’t seem to want to do that. And I know we’re in an era of coddling the modern day athlete. And I know part of that era contributed to the firing of Joe Gerardi. But there needs to be a little bit of accountability, a little bit of pressure, a little bit of something with this team because over the last couple years, there’s none of that. And it all has contributed to an annual boon swoon while he’s leading the team. So we can draw all the parallels we want. We can sit here and give you all the comparisons we want. That to me are the two biggest things though because if the manager doesn’t want to take care of it, fine. The last line of defense is the captain of the team. He can take care of it. And Derek Jeter did it in that clip. Aaron Judge has not. What do we think of some of the quotes from Boone exclaiming that this team is the best in the American League after they got swept by Toronto in Toronto in four games and lost first place.
Yeah. He said they’re the best team in baseball. How do you say that with a I just I understand wanting to not dump on your players, right?
But you can’t that that’s almost like gaslighting at this point.
Yeah, you’re gaslighting them at this point into thinking that they’re the best team in the American League when they’re clearly not.
Houston’s better than them. Detroit’s better than them. The Blue Jays right now are playing better than them. the raise. I can go on, but I just How do you say that with a stray face? How did any of those reporters not laugh at him when he said that? I don’t understand why.
It’s a really good point on your part. It’s it’s it’s you know, again, you have to have some realism in this, too. And and I I do love that comment coming out, too, because it’s it’s treating the fan base like we’re a bunch of morons. Quite frankly, that’s exactly what it is. We We’re all watching the games. We all see what’s happened. They’re in they’re a really really bad baseball team, Stacy. In their last 10, they’re three and seven. Yeah,
this is not a good baseball team. And it is it is gaslighting us to sit here and say they’re he said they’re the best team in baseball. They’re not close. We can name 10 teams that are playing better than them right now. They’re not remotely close to the best team in baseball. So to sit there and say that and again it’s one thing to say that they have the most talent in baseball or when if you sat there sat there and said when we’re clicking we’re the best team in baseball right now we’re going through a tough stretch. All that’s good and well to sit there and say they’re the best team in baseball. They’re not. They’re not close. They’re not remotely close.
Yeah. Even if he had said that, even if he qualified it with when we’re all clicking, we’re the or one of the best teams in baseball. No one would have batted an eyelash because they would have been like, “It’s true.” Because when you guys are doing really well,
you’re doing really well. You’re eight and two and 10. you, you know, beat a bunch of teams and yeah, you guys get on a run, but you can’t come out and say what you said. You just can’t.
I understand wanting to give your team confidence and I understand not wanting to sit there and be doom and gloom. They’re Joe Gerardy. I mean, for all the credit we give him, Joe Gerardy when they went through bad stretches would sit there and look like the world is ending. You could physically see his hair falling out during press conferences. He was, you could see it turning gray right in front of you. He was miserable. He took losses very hard. He cried after after the 2017 ALCS. So we we’ve seen it all. It’s it’s it’s rough.
I did too, Joe.
Well, sure. But yeah, exactly. But we’ve seen it before, but it’s another thing. We want the confidence for sure, but to sit there and and just blatantly lie as if we’re all not watching the same sport. I mean, this is the guy who sat there and this is the organization that sat there and told you that, you know, X player, Y player, when their amateurs are horrible, are are great players, seeing the ball wells, having good swings. Enough’s enough, Stacy. We’re all watching the same games. We know when a guy’s not playing well, and we all acknowledge it. The whole media acknowledges it. Everyone on the team acknowledges it except the actual team. How is that healthy?
Yeah. Yeah. All right. Coming up, a couple of guys are joining Aaron Judge on the All-Star team. So, we’ll briefly discuss that and then we’re going to look around the league because some stuff is happening there as well. So, join us for that next. The Washington The Washington Nationals are four and six in their last 10. They just fired their GM and manager uh earlier Sunday night. They fired both of them after the game. Um which is crazy because Rizzo’s been there for a long time. Wow.
Yeah. Since the World Series team. So, he’s now gone. The manager is gone. They’ve moved everybody. The Washington Nationals this year are 37 and 53. They’re 16 games back in the division. They are playing a lot worse because there was a time when they were they were a couple games out in third place. They’ve significantly dropped off. So, they’re not playing well. They just fired their coaching manager. They’re four and six in their last 10. The Yankees are three and seven in their last 10. Just throwing that little tidbit out there. So before we go around the league, let’s just mention that Max Freed and Jazz Chisum will be with Aaron Judge at the All-Star game, which is pretty cool.
Yeah, very deserving for Freed obviously. Um
No. Yeah,
Jazz Chisum I thought was a weird one. Um has missed a lot of time this year. The power numbers are good, but the the average is is so low.
Yeah.
Um I don’t think it’s I mean do you think Jazz Chisum was an all-star this year? Um, no. But he is
the other one that’s uh this one I thought was actually insane that that he got um
uh did you see the other guy that got uh all-star consider well is in the all-star game that I think is insane by Major League Baseball?
No.
Julio Rodriguez for the uh the Mariners. I know he’s a household name and he’s a superstar type talent. Stacy, he’s hitting .247 with 11 homers, 43 RBI’s, and a 695 OPS. That’s not all. That’s That’s Anthony Vulpi. That’s not that that that is not Allstar numbers at at all.
Speaking of that, um did you see the video of Anthony Vulpy’s dad supposedly yelling at
Yeah, I saw his dad yelling at Mets fans defending his son. Did you also see Anthony Vulpi tossing a ball as if more could go wrong with Anthony Vulpi tossing a ball back like they normally do and drilling Aaron Judge in the face? I mean,
if that’s not a microcosm of how this Yankee season has gone, I don’t know what is. I made a joke and said, “Oh, so Anthony Vulby can hit something after he hit Judge and then he hit a home run.” But you know, this season has just been absolutely ridicul Not even the season. This last month has been absolutely ridiculous. Yeah, we’re not even at mid July yet and it’s taken years off our life. It’s exhausting this season.
It’s It really is. It It is. Um so let’s go quickly through this. Let’s mention this first because it’s terrible and awful and we knew about this months ago, but former White Sox reliever Bobby Jens passed away 44 years old. He was on the 2005 White Sox team. They broke that really long curse, 88 years. He also pitched for the Red Sox in 2012. But this poor man
was diagnosed with stage four stomach cancer out of nowhere.
His house burned down in the fires in California. lost basically everything and he was in Portugal I guess trying to get like treatments for the stomach cancer but he ended up passing away and it’s just that’s just 44 now that I’m way past it is so young really and uh just just awful and I really hope that um you know because he lost a lot and he was he had money issues and everything I hope the White Socks do something good here and help out his Yeah, devastating to see. Really upsetting stuff. Um, one of the first pitchers that I have memories of, uh, watching baseball and stuff. So, really, really sad stuff to see that. Really, uh, I do hope the White Socks, like you said, do something to help his family out. Um, would be really, really nice to see. Um, in other transactional news across the league, um, the Yankees traded minor league catcher Alex Jackson to the Orioles. They got international bonus pool money back in return. I think it was about $250,000 they got back in return for bonus pull money. Um, weird note, the Yankees have been really good with catchers uh developing over the last couple years. The the league now is is littered across with former Yankee catchers all over the place. So, um, you you’re you’re clearly seeing the the upgrades they’ve made in their in their developing catcher department. Um, Tanner Swanson’s done an unbelievable job with this organization. I mean, really. So, uh, hats off to him. This is a crazy story, Stacy. Um, the Atlanta Braves, they resigned their relief pitcher, Jesse Chavez, uh, back to the team. It’s now his seventh stint with the Braves, his sixth since 2021. This is not a DFA, waiverss, bring back situation. This is release, resign, release, resign. The seventh time with Atlanta. That’s crazy. I mean, that I’ve never heard of anything like that.
He’s also 41, which is also crazy.
Nuts. I mean, you don’t see this a lot in baseball anymore.
No,
just I mean, wild wild story. Um, and then across the division, the Blue Jays uh placed Andre Jimenez on the 15-day IIL due to a ankle sprain. He suffered that on the slide that he had um against the Yankees last week. He missed one of the games in the Yankees series. So, um that Iel stint is now placed retroactive back to that date. So, we’ll see how long uh he winds up being out. And the Mets uh will also get Kodi Sena and Sha Maniah back this week when they head to Kansas City before they hit the All-Star break as the Yankees will too. And we’ll discuss it tomorrow for sure, Stacy. But again, Yankees have a really tough week ahead of themselves before the All-Star break to get Seattle without any of their aces on the mound. And they got to play play the Cubs who are the best runs scoring team in baseball. It could be a really, really tough week heading into the All-Star break tonight.
Yep. And coming up tomorrow, we will let you know what’s going on in the minors. We’ll give you Spencer Jones updates. George Lumber updates.
Yeah, Spencer Jones updates we’re going to want to hear because wow has he been good.
He’s Yeah, he’s he’s showing up and showing out in TripleA. We’re going to tell you all about it tomorrow. Thank you for making Locked on Yankees your first listen today. The episode also covers the All-Star Game selections, including Max Fried and Jazz Chisholm joining Judge, and examines the broader issues of accountability and complacency within the Yankees organization.

Didn't they say jazz has a sore shoulder ?
Great job Brian, with that Jeter clip!
I was livid when I saw the lineup too until I heard that the reason Dominguez was out is because Boone wanted the best defense for Max Fried. BUT, if that was the case, why was LeMahieu at 2nd base?? Two ground outs went right through him leading to 2 earned runs Max did not deserve!
The last month of baseball has not been good. But I don't think I have heard what the answer is. They want everyone to rest. And they like matchups for the batting order. And since they are one of the winningest teams in baseball, the people in charge really don't feel that urgent about anything.
This team is coached by the "Analytic Department" … Every game, a different lineup; makes absolutely no sense at all. That's why the Yankees become inconsistent.
I never believe the medical staff they are down right liars at this point. They told us Rizzo was fine for 3 months remember that??
Hal and cash and everyone who works for them at the top is the problem. Boone is an extension of the owner He doesnt think for himself or make any real impactful decisions for the club. Stop blaming him. Boone is not a critical thinking manager he is happy to be there and hold the title and protect the org and the players from public scrutiny.
These yankees are focused on profit margins not wins. They do everything backward from the way they “develop” guys to their non chalant borderline arrogant attitude and mindset and approach to the game .
Nothing will change until Hal is gone or replaced. EOS.
Rough following you guys when you disappear every weekend 🤦♂️
Relax. The Yankees are a great baseball club. Go Yankees/
Volpe is still untouchable
This team is coached by the "Analytic Department" … Every game, a different lineup; makes absolutely no sense at all. That's why the Yankees become inconsistent. The Bullpen is still a problem and Volpe still blows also. Boone is still a 🤡. Thank God for Cody Bellinger and the lineup changes have to stop!!! 🤬🤬
Good details guys ❤
😁 👏👏 Lets Go Yankees ⚾
Continuity, intuition, common sense, accountability and leadership are the keys to winning baseball, to hell with frigging analytics, did the Yankee dynasties use that crap?
They need a manager that manages PLAYERS, not numbers!
Hal is happy
We dont matter
The two balls called strikes in the bottom of the 9th were a huge help. Without those gifts, the Mets have a runner on first and no outs. No way would the lead have survived that.
Its hard to say this but, come on….this team is not a championship caliber team…. This team can't beat the top tier teams in a 7 GM series
Saying "I'm sorry; he just is" or "I'm sorry; they just are" does nothing to support an argument. It's useless, excess verbiage. The fact that Michael Kay uses it on a daily basis doesn't make it savvy or impressive.
Every season for the past 8 seasons, Aaron Boone has been a terrible manager.
I Told a friend 2 years ago that the Yankees are turning into the Dallas Cowboys of the MLB; Good enough to put butts in seats and give us fans false hope.. If things Don't change, things Won't change! Love your channel ✌️
I have said for years Boone is not watching the same games that i’ve been watching.
Yankees fans are complaining because it has been 16 seasons without a championship, and the organization is so obviously not serious about winning one. They're serious about being good enough to be consistently profitable. The ambition goes no further.
The Dodgers won the game after the 18-1 shellacking??? Which game did you watch? Astros swept the Dodgers!!!
Judge still hes the team leader
It’s those types of comments by Boone that make people hate the Yankees – in addition to the insane money they spend on payroll. It’s a proven fact that it is almost impossible to buy a championship trophy. Yes, LA won last year but look at all the recent years they haven’t (I’m not counting 2020 due to the circumstances).
The bubble blowing baby sitter in the dugout just signed an extension. No way he gets fired unfortunately.
Brian, You have absolutely no idea what Judge says or does with his teammates behind closed doors, ranting your loud conjecture doesn’t make it true or make you sound like you know the game.
Again there is 0 accountability for anyone on this team playing like this plus all of this is being accepted by the front office, if this continues on they will not make it 💯
Using that 18 1 dodgers analogy not the best one. The dodgers lost that next game and were swept and outscored 29 6 at home by astros and booed by their fans. Jays pitching as of the other day was 23rd on ERA and their starters era was even a worse rank. I think by end of season yanks will win division but astros pitch really good start to finish. If somehow Alvarez can get healthy by the playoffs they are team to beat in AL
Jason Dominguez should be in the lineup every day at AAA to work on his Fielding and that line Drive that Bellinger caught and turned into a dounle play, would not have been caught by Dominguez, he woukd have stopped short and it woukd have dropped in front of him
Also the game before Dominguez went 0 for 4
Please send him to AAA for a full Season!
The BS runs downhill from Hal. He won't spend the money needed to fix a horrible roster. The money going to Stanton, Stroman and LeMahieu is getting $0 return.
Rice, Wells, Grisham and Goldschmidt have cooled off. Bench DJ, move Jazz to 2nd, live with Peraza @ 3rd. Unless Cash finds a third baseman, ain't gonna happen, they miss the playoffs.
Brian, take a look at facts once in a while. Dodgers LOST the game after the 18-1 loss.
What the Yankees need to do is keep Dominguez in LF let him get better out there , put belli in CF and judge in RF and give grish time to heal until after the all-star break , move jazz to 2b put anyone in 3b at this point avoid the errors at 3b, but keep the hot hand of Dominguez in the damn line up at leadoff hitter and stop mixing up the damn line up .
You are wrong about the Astros and LA series the Astros won every game.
ALL "GOOD TEAMS" AND GOOD TEAMS GO THROUGH LOSING STRETCHES DURING A SEASON, AND THAT IS A DOCUMENTED FACT ACROSS YEARS, AND DECADES, ONLY DELUDED SELF-ABSORBED PRATTS WILL DENY THAT
BUT I GUESS HOSTING A YOUTUBE CHANNEL THINS THE AIR IN YOUR BRAIN!!!
Jasson isnt playing because they keep giving Grisham opportunities and his taking them. As long as they dont trade Grisham away, the analytics will tell Boone to put him on the field. Grisham has value for sure. I personally would add him to a trade package but I guess the analytics see value in rotating 4 outfield players.
Yes and not Stacey but Bryan 😢said trade Spencer Jones no way sorry he will be starting next year or maybe this year if we have a horrible 😢2nd half like we had the month of June 🙏 we win series against Seattle and Chicago rest up all star weekend and come back winning 😎 🙏
