This is Philip Rosenite, the host of Lockdown Magic as the Orlando Magic have done the last big piece of business they had left this summer signing or green to terms to sign Paulo Banker to a fiveyear max extension with a player option on that fifth year. Palo Ben Carro becomes the first rookie extension with that player option on the final year since Luca Donuch and Trey Young. Really that tells you what the Magic think of Paulo Beno. Just like the Mavericks at least at one point thought about Luca Donuch and how the Hawks think about Trey Young. He is the centerpiece of this team. He is the player they plan to build around the player. They plan to be fully invested in the player. They plan to enhance with every move they have made. The Magic are ready to go allin on this core. They did that last year by signing Fran Vagner to uh by signing Fran Vagner to a max extension last summer. By sending signing Jaylen Slugs to a 5-year extension last summer by acquiring Desmond Bane and a 4-year con contract with it, the Magic have put all their chips on this core and believing that they can take that next step. The Magic have put themselves in a really strong position to do all that in a weakened Eastern Conference and they have their centerpiece now locked up for the long term.
