Now that the NHL free agency period is underway, 11 players have decided to file for arbitration. Three of those players are on the Winnipeg Jets and two are on the Anaheim Ducks. Gabe Valardi, Dylan Samborg, and Morgan Baron are the names on Winnipeg. And the two Anaheim Ducks are Lucas Destall and Drew Helison. Cappo Kako, Nick Robertson, Arvid Solderblum, Connor Timmons, Jaden Strubal, and Maxim Ciploth make up the other names. Once a player files for arbitration, they are no longer eligible for an offer sheet. Hearings to settle these arbitrations will be scheduled between July 20th and August 4th, but teams have until the beginning of their set hearing to negotiate with the player and come to some sort of an agreement. Teams also have a window to file for their own arbitration for 24 hours ending at 5:00 p.m. today, July 6. So once again, 11 NHL players have decided to file for arbitration.
