Washington Nationals name interim manager

Welcome to Rick Sners Washington where you get the whole story. So, please like, share, subscribe, and comment. Washington Nationals named an interim manager, Mia Miguel Cairo. Good solid baseball man. He became their bench coach last year, 2024. Um, in 2022, he was an interim manager with Chicago White Socks and went 18 and 16. So, maybe you can get a little juice out of these players. 17 seasons as a player, six positions, nine teams. So, I think this guy’s a pretty well-rounded individual that can go ahead and lead this team through the useless part of the season that is left. Uh, and that’s fine. I that they decided to get rid of Dave Martinez right now. I thought it was useless, but it turns out that they had to pick up his option. They had to tell him if they were picking up his option this week. He could have just played out or he could have said screw you or or whatever. They just decided to skip the drama and go to that. uh losing to GM Rizzo a week before the draft where they had the number one overall pick tells me I guess they didn’t trust them to make the pick uh on everything. So we’ll see what happens there too. But definitely the Washington Nationals are once again in a crisis situation. Six straight losing years it looks like since they won a World Series. That all falls on ownership at the end of the day. And that’s what I said yesterday. They need a new owner. They don’t need a new manager or a new GM. They need they need a new ownership that’s going to invest in this team. Remember the past offseasons, you’re like, “Where are they going to pick up some pitching? Where are they going to pick up some different people?” You never saw it happen. It was called being cheap. Don’t tell me the Nationals don’t have money, that they’re a small market team. That’s not true. They got the TV thing resolved. Why? Where’s your stadium naming rights if you’re looking for money so much? You know, for some reason, it just hasn’t been anything from the Learner family in recent years. And of course, the patriarch Ted has passed away. This team needs to get its act together and start looking forward. I would think go find a buyer and let somebody else figure it out. Ding. I’m Rick Snder. Thanks for gone.

Rick Snider’s Washington says the Washington Nationals get a solid baseball man to manage. Gimme two minutes.

  1. Nationals are cheap, but my team the Ray's are even cheaper, but thrive in that environment. I hope Ray's hire back Davey Martinez as their bench coach.
