The Toronto Blue Jays Are Making HISTORY!
Hello everybody and welcome into Blue Jays today where your boys always have something to say about the Toronto Blue Jays. I’m your host Nicholas Playalong and I’m your host Adam Ple and today guys the Blue Jays are on the verge of making Toronto Blue Jays history. They’re on a nine-game winning streak and have a chance to a have the longest winning streak in Blue Jays history and b also go on to have the most wins the Blue Jays have ever put up before the All-Star break. We’re going to break down who’s doing it. The game yesterday against the White Socks and also looking ahead and what they got to do to make history happen. Before we get into it, guys, hit that like button and smash that subscribe button if you were enjoying the Blue Jays content and also the Blue Jays amazing winning streak. Let’s talk about the game yesterday, everybody. My goodness. They go into White Socks. I know it’s the White Socks, but they did take two of three against us at the Rogers Center. So, you never know. You can’t take these teams too lightly, but they go in and they absolutely destroy them. 8 to four was the score. And it was home run city from everyone but Bobad and George Springer and Vladimir Gar Jr. It was all the guys who were down in the order, the guys who were making all the contributions to this Blue Jays lineup. Yeah, Addison Barger for me is like just such a swing having that dude in the lineup, right? Like imagine if we didn’t have him right now. He is on another freaking level, dude. Goes two for four yesterday, hits another bomb. Uh it was a tight game for a while and then Barger hit his home run and it basically just opened that thing wide open and then the floodgates were going and the Jays were just rolling and it feels like that’s kind of been that’s kind of been the storyline, right? Like once this offense gets cooking, like once it’s like, okay, we’re playing today. Bang. There’s no stopping them. And clearly we saw that happen last night with Chicago White Sox winning 8 to4. Yeah, you know, we got to save the bullpen a little bit, which is phenomenal. And I want to also just highlight that Asen Barer home run one more time cuz man, like it was a thing of beauty. We we even seeing Barger come up in the first little bit and just hammer fast balls upstairs, right? That was the thing that he was ambushing. He loves it. That is his favorite pitch. Well, what happens to a young guy when he starts to have success in the major leagues? Well, the league’s going to adjust to you. And we started seeing a lot of curve balls and off speed downstairs. And if you can see by this little video right here on the Toronto Blue Jays, where’s that pitch? That’s down low. That’s an 84 change up delivered by Burke and he hammers it over the right field wall. That’s an adjustment that you’re seeing from a young guy adjusting to the league who’s adjusting to him. And that is a recipe for sustained success 100%. And we’re not the only ones that are thinking that. Literally the first thing that Joe Siddle said after that home run on the broadcast was the fact that he’s noticed Addison Barger is now making that adjustment and proving to the rest of the league, hey, you can throw that to me, but I can hit that just as well as I can hit your fast ball. So now, if you want to attack me, you got to be perfect. And Addison Barger isn’t the only one who’s figured it out. I mean, Nathan Lucas in this 9game win streak, he has the highest WRC plus on the team. That is wild. I never thought that we’d be seeing Nathan Lucas like playing this prominent role like not only just in the lineup, but like at the top of the lineup as well, the resurgence from Springer and then also too, Babe Schneider. We can actually play that graphic now and feel good about it because last season we were playing and it was like it was kind of like it was almost like we were making fun of him. This year that’s not the case. He is out there and he is performing. Absolutely right. And like Nathan Lucas for me guys, if you are a fan of the show has always been like my kind of favorite low-key blue jay, you know, the fourth outfielder that can actually do a very good job being a fourth outfielder. However, right now without Anthony Sundonair, he’s practically our third everyday outfielder. And now John Schneider has him hitting at the top of the lineup. And I love this move cuz a he hits really good against righty. So when it’s a righty on the pump, you’re put Nathan Lucas up there. And then as you’ve seen in the past when it’s a lefty, you got Ernie Clement up there at the top. And at first I was kind of not about it because I really like Bobette being at the top. But you can’t ignore the numbers of Boba having great numbers against uh with runners in scoring position. So having him down in the four spot is nice as long as Nathan Lucas and Ernie Clement are setting the table. And Nathan Lucas has been setting the table. Hit a home run last night. Has been showing up with great at bats at that 14th pitch at bat last week. So I can’t complain. Lucas is a dog and I’m really happy. He’s a big He’s also a big factor of this team, man. 100%. I mean, you’re getting these contributions from individuals that you just never would have expected to see this much from. And that is a testament to David Popkins, which we just continue to highlight here on Blue Jays today. Now, the last time that the Toronto Blue Jays were on a streak this good, 2015. 2015, folks. And this is what the lineup looked like back then. Tulo and Donaldson and Bautista, all of the guys that you know is you probably consider to be your favorite player or your favorite era or the time that you have the most fond memories watching this Toronto Blue Jays team. That was the last time that they were this good. August 11th, 2015. Yeah, it’s it’s incredible, right? This was right after the trade deadline when they went on those tour runs and they actually had two 11game win streaks in that season and this was the beginning of another one. And that kind of brings me to the next thing right here. The Blue Jays, their active streak of nine wins in a row is tied for seventh of all time. The last time that they won just and they ended at nine in a row was 2014. But you’re right, to your point, the last time they actually had a chance to get nine or 11 or 10 was back in 2015. And they’ve got two more games in this White Sock series. If they go on to sweep, there you have it. That’s tied for the record. And if they go on to Sacramento and face the A’s, then they got a chance to beat it. Yeah, I mean looking ahead at the schedule here for the Toronto Blue Jays that they got five games left between them and the All-Star break and it is easy competition, guys. I mean, we saw what they did to the White Socks yesterday. White Socks are not a good ball team. And the pitching matchups is definitely in favor of the Toronto Blue Jays. And then after the Chicago White Socks, they get an off day, which is great because, you know, we we’ve been playing consecutive games of baseball now for it feels like literally infinity. but get that off day to to get the bullpen healthy. So then if you are still on that winning streak, you got a chance to literally make history in Sacramento having the longest win streak of all time. I can’t believe I’m in 2025 for the Toronto Blue Jays considering what happened last year. But there’s a legitimate shot here with the level of competition that they’re up against that they could do this. Feels like we’re having a Billy Bean Oakland Athletics moment, right? And we could do it make history against the A’s, right? That’s kind of funny. And also another piece of history that the Blue Jays could make literally tonight. And I it feels like there’s a good chance that they will make this. This one is almost a smash. This is almost a slam dunk. The Blue Jays, and this was tweeted out before yesterday’s win. Shout out to our friend Mitch Bannon from The Athletic saying, “If the Blue Jays win just two of the next six games, it will be Toronto’s most wins before an All-Star break in franchise history. Quick math. We only got to win one more game.” So there you go, guys. Isn’t that incredible? The Blue Jays are on such a run, and no one would have thought they would have the most wins in the first half of the season. Goes to show just how exciting this year is. Nobody expected this from the Toronto Blue Jays. I mean, that is like a fair thing to say at this point. I know that, you know, some people were higher on them, you know, opposed to others, but this level of dominance, I mean, literally setting potential historical numbers here, like you could set records, right? 12ame comments down below. Oh, don’t jinx them. We’re not jinxing them. They still work. It’s going to be very, very difficult. But if they were to do that with this team, you know, after what happened last year, I mean, like that is the moment in time where I would genuinely have to give the tip of the hat to Ross Atkins, apologize, you know, thoroughly for all of the that I have talked over the years because obviously this roster is good enough to do it. You just needed to get the best out of them. And maybe it was honestly the the personnel of Don Maddingley and GMO Martinez that was leading them down the wrong path. Hey, Ross the boss brought the team in. They Yeah, you’re right. They just weren’t guided right with the right people. So, you you know what? I got to give them a lot of credit. Ross the Boss, you the man. Thank you for making this happen. One final note before we sign off here, everybody. Whoa. Time for a quick shout out to the sponsor of this video. Bassid has had his moments. Let’s get that W, guys, and make it double digits. Man, 10 game win streak and then that would be I believe Mitch saying tied for the most wins before the All-Star break. Should "Bargered" be a verb for this team.
This run for the team is a big improvement from last season which was a disaster. Bringing in David Popkins was an excellent signing.
Finally!!! You guys are giving Lukes some love. He may not be a sexy rookie with unlimited potential but he is super reliable and a great bat off the bench. The dude is just well schooled at the plate……
Lukes had 1.2 WAR in 22 games last year. That was an 8 WAR pace.
He's not quite that guy, but Since his call up last year (and not his first 29 games in 2023), his 162 game pace is 4.4 WAR.
Not bad.
This lineup looks better than 2015 to me .. if Vlad heats up a bit and the others stay at this level we might have another gear in us yet.
Note: The scrolling banner on the bottom says that it's the longest win streak since 2025, thought I'd let you know😊
I hope Bassitt has his good stuff today. He makes me a bit nervous every time he pitches. Also, Addison is the team's MVP both defensively and offensively.
Nicky why you going golfing leaving Adam to do the work tonight? 😅 Go Jay's Go
Did you guys see The shirt Vlady was wearing in the post game interview lol it said Daddy Yankee lol
Yup, gotta give it up: Ross the Boss delivered the awesome sauce! Now we need to continue to plug away at it till the break & consider every single team a real threat. These men are truly special, the way their collective mindset has changed & their strats have been including making those all-important adjustments! Schneids has been shaking the order up & going for it…luv luv luv…lessgo boys!😍🙏🎯
The front office did promise us waves of talent coming from the farm system, Ive been watching the jays since 1990 and every team I have ever seen succeed and win the last game of the year has been teams with solid bottom 3rds, Roster construction in 90% of the baseball teams is flawed
3 lefties hit a hr last night and it wasnt Varsho, Santander or Gimenez.. who were our projected lefties (SH) in the pre season lineup
1992 revisited
Longest winning streak is 12 games not 10! Go Jays Go 💪🏻🙌🏻
Almost at 31K!!!! Keep up the great works, boys. 👍
