Rangers vs. Angels Game Highlights (7/8/25) | MLB Highlights

Beautiful here in Southern California. And tonight at Angel Stadium it’s game two of a four game series between the los Angeles Angels and the Texas Rangers. See if they can handle Jose Soriano who has mostly been good over his last several starts. He’s had a couple of hiccups in there. I mean, when he has that knuckle curve working, he is about as good as anybody in all of baseball. Josh smith in the leadoff spot. So now seventh pitch of the at bat and that misses ball four Smith draws the is on Corey Seager who had a home run in last night’s ball game. He will be the next batter small sample size, but it’s a lively 14 for five in his career against Soriano with a home run chops this one over to at second base flip to second for one double play turn behind Soriano this season 20 so far, a good sign working that splitter going down and away at 91 against. So the bat now is Simeon who was zero for four last night, a swing and a miss on a fastball that adds sink to it to end the inning 6 ft 2, 220 pound right on the mound. Nathan Eovaldi for the Texas Rangers 5 to 3 record in his 14 starts, a 175, a 191 batting average against having a great season and there are beautiful throwbacks. Once again tonight, Jack Petto leads off. There’s a bouncer down to third base. Smith is, oh man, over Berger and into the dugout and zack Netto looked like a harmless ground out to open the game instead begins the game at second base on the two base throwing error. The Angels can take advantage. Now with Netto at second base to start this game, Nolan Shau had the walk off walk yesterday the first by an Angel since 2000 and , and he left one to right center field that will get down for a base hit that’s being waved to Garcia will not make the throw and the Angels get a quick one. Nothing lead. Nice job when you face john, well guy in scoring position, it’s just a tough one. That’s a splitter, a good one below the strike zone and he’s going to make contact. He just shortens up punches that ball the right center 37 RB I on the season. So that is a really tough start to the ball game for Eovaldi Mike Trout. Now the batter bounce for shortstop quick flip to second, good for one out on to first in time for the double play really well done there by Seeger and Semien two gone. So here’s Ward, the cleanup hitter batting 226 third base and this time Smith with a good throw and the inning is over the top of the third. We go, it’s 1 to 0 angels and jake Berger will lead it off. There it goes. Berger chases for strike three. It’s the fourth time he has struck out already in this series. That thinker again, it just drops straight down and the nine hole hitter. So Cal native kyle will be the next batter and he chases for strike three. Soriano has had the Rangers off balance the first time through the order. Such a good sign when he’s got the knuckle curve working and back to back nasty knuckle curves. Josh Smith, the leadoff man steps back in swing and a miss here and Jose Soriano strikes out the side here in the third. It, well his second hit in this two out single, Mike Trout will be the batter swing and a miss strikes out Trout on a nasty splitter below the zone through three here in Anaheim, unearned run the difference. The Angels lead 1 to 0. So a couple of walks here to start this inning and four in the game. Now jose Soriano 51 walks only Gavin Williams of the Guardians more hitters. Now it’s Jonah Heim at the plate in a position here where a double play could get Soriano out of the inning. Soriano cannot hit those targets in this inning. He has walked the bases loaded. His fifth walk of the game gives the Rangers a big chance here and now Wyatt Langford will be the batter Rangers threatening to score for the first time here tonight. Thanks to Soriano’s wildness in this inning, Langford hits this one down the line and that’s a fair ball in semi will score in the third bases. Jonah. He and why Langford break through for the Rangers with a two run double and they have their first lead of the night. You’re facing a ball on the mound even though you got a break in the first inning. It’s going to be tough. Now now Soriano trying to minimize the damage, Evan Carter , the batter lefty hitter with runners at 2nd and 3rd one is down the left field line ward on the run and that is in for a fair ball and Then out for a ground rule double hopped up over the fence, two runs score and Carter makes it 4 to 1 rangers. So back to back two run doubles and the Angels down three and here’s Berger still only one out a runner at second and that one is lined out to right field. That’s a base hit. It’ll chase Carter to the plate. 5 to 1. Rangers. Great job by the Texas Rangers making the walks pay. Here is Sam Aldi the lefty from Italy is back in the major leagues. Cos on the first pitch, it’s a fly ball to left that falls in for a base hit. Always swing at the first pitch. We know that. Oh, too well. And there’s another pitch that misses and that’s going to be another walk and the Rangers have them loaded. So now it’s going to be up to Carter. The Rangers are going to cash in on this bases loaded spot. There’s Paul four, he drives in a run his third RB I of the night the Rangers have drawn almost 100 walks in this game. What in the world bases still loaded? So they have cashed in six runs so far on eight walks, they have the bases loaded for Jake Burke and a swing and that one is out to the alley right field that is down base hit, not hit hard two runs score and the Rangers make it 8 to 1 in the fifth inning. This one hit on the ground and that’s the left side base hit. Carter comes in to score. Berger stops at second and the Rangers have a nine spot here tonight we go to the sixth inning and Corey Seager is the batter. That ball is touched deep to right. It is gone, no doubt about it. Seager with his 13th home run of the year and the Rangers in double digits, it’s 400 and 27 feet. Corey Seager leads the yard for the second straight game. He continues to terrorize the Angels and the Rangers lead grows to 10 1 and not what you want when you’re facing a guy like Nathan Eval who has been on such a roll this year. What a great effort and night for Berger, he’s had a good night tonight. Two hits and three tries. And the Angels in the seventh inning, go to the position player pitching that ball is pounding deep out to left, it is gone. Jake Berger hits his 11th home run of the season. Superfluous run. Indeed, the Rangers lead it 11 to 11 out here in the top of the eight. Wyatt Langford coming up, here’s a ball driven high into the air deep down the left field line. That ball sails way out of here. Wyatt Langford makes it 13 to 1. Texas Duran pretty mad at Newman for getting him out twice tonight. He’s on to show him who the real position player pitcher is. Mike Trout will be the batter and here a ball popped up shallow left field, Helmand going out still going out, reaches out and makes a running grab to retired Trout for the first out here in the bottom of the ninth. And the Angels are down to their final out, Joan mcada will be the batter pitch hits that hard off to right and it’s caught near the wall by Osuna to win the game. Durant finishes it off the Rangers 13 1 winners today hardly tells the story. This one, not much of a contest after the fourth inning and the Rangers even this series at a game apiece.
