MLB LIVE🔴 Texas Rangers vs Los Angeles Angels – Jul 10, 2025 | Full Game MLB 2025 EN VIVO

So almost ready to get underway and starting in this one, Samuel Aldary. Chris, it’s a little more common these days, but still he’s a strikeout per inning type of guy. Well, I hear you about the strikeouts. a lot more guys striking out today. But when you consider having the ability to get that strike out, particularly when you need it, a man on third, less than two outs, situations where, yeah, maybe you’re not a real high strikeout guy, but just knowing you have the swinging missed stuff in a big spot, I think it’s real critical. And he’s got it. That one the other way. Neto whips it to first. One out in the top of the first. And now we take a look at the Rangers lineup. Not a whole lot going their way offensively the last few games, Chris. Yeah, boo again. That can put more pressure on the pitching staff to try to limit the opponent to just one or two runs a game knowing that their offense is not scoring right now. And that never really works well because you try to be too fine and you end up giving up a lot of runs. So, we’ll see if everybody can just relax, bring things together, and perform at a level that they’re capable of. Cory Seager in the box with one away as he takes ball one. That catches the top part of the zone and it’s one and one. One strike. One out. Base is empty. Ball. No. Come on. Here we go. Next offering is fouled back. The two- two. Goes down looking. So he gets the call and picks up the strike out looking. Sometimes with a good hitter at the plate, he’ll be the one to get the benefit of the doubt if he lays off on a close pitch like that, but just not right there. Strike zone definitely expand a little bit with two strikes. Two down, base is empty. Marcus Simeon digs in now. Swing and a miss. Strike one. Simeon in his 11th season, 34 year old vet and he was a sixthround draft pick back in 2011. The 01 started after it. Appeal to first. He went around according to Carl Nixon. Two down. Nobody on. Pitch misses. One and two count. Really good take especially with two strikes. Sam. That’s out to center field. Adele going after it. makes the catch and that is that. Rangers nothing. Angels coming up. Major League Baseball is on the show back here at Angel Stadium. And today’s starting pitcher, Nathan Evaldi. And Singi, he’s one of the most dominant arms in all of baseball. Well, this guy’s just been filthy out there on the mound. hitters batting under 200 against him and they’re just having a hard time squaring up anything, doing any type of damage. The only way he hurts himself is if he gives up the free passes and surreners a rare home run. But outside of that, it’s going to be a tough job for the opposing lineup today. Hard hit right side. Simeon toss over to first. One up, one down. batting second first. All right, let’s take a look at the Angels lineup. This is an offense, Chris, that’s having a hard time scoring runs right now. Yeah, sometimes things just aren’t going to click and unfortunately what happens is players press. They try to do a little bit more and they get out of their game. You got to let the game come to you. If you chase it, it’s going to run from you. So, this is a team that just needs to calm down, relax, and understand that they’re going to come out of this. Nolan Showwell stands in now. Looks at that one inside. Check swing called strike. The one-1 is fouled off. The one two ball inside. Just missed. Three and two. The pitch is outside and ball four. Pretty good spot on the outside, but just couldn’t quite clip the zone. It’s a stone cold take. Runner on at first with one gone. Mike Trout the next to hit for the Angels. That one finds the zone and that’s strike one. Trout is one of the best players of his generation. He’s a fan favorite because he brings a rare combination of speed, power, and allaround talent to the team. He’s exactly the type of player you want to build around. Comes up empty. That’s strike two. From a pitcher’s perspective, that’s a beautiful splitter right there. As a hitter, you don’t like it, but he’s commanded his fast ball and out of that same tunnel, that splitter comes and the bottom just falls out of it. Shadowwell the base runner at first with one out. Gets a piece and stays alive. The two one two. I don’t like to say he wasted a pitch. I think that was a purpose pitch. Change the eye level. Have him look up now. Go back exactly where you want to go. Twins and misses. It’s a strike out. Had him out front for strike three. Definitely made him chase a little bit out of the zone right there. I don’t think that’s a strike if he takes it. Pretty textbook pitching. Get ahead in the count. Get the guy in the box on his heels and then force him to chase your pitch where he doesn’t have much of a chance to do any damage. And here is Taylor Ward. popped up foul territory behind the plate and that ends the inning. Angels leave one scoreless after one back in Anaheim. Stepping in Adoleis Garcia. Dol Garcia all the Gary back to work and that one misses up and in. And that is ball one. Just missed. Nasty back door slider. There’s really nothing you can do with that if you swing at it. So that’s a good take by him. Foul ball there. I wouldn’t throw him another breaking ball. Try to go again with a fast ball. Slightly elevated. He just having a hard time catching up. Swinging a foul out of play. Pitch misses. Three and two now. Knocks that one away and we’ll do it again. Cuts and misses. It’s a strikeout. Oh, nothing too fancy on the strikeout pitch right there. Just a low 90s fast ball. I’m not sure he was trying to challenge him, but that’s pretty much what happened. Very hitable location, but he found a way to just get it by him. Line to left and foul ball. Base hit center field. So they get a man aboard with a one-out single. Batting six, left fielder Wyatt Langford. The batter now, Wyatt Langford. That one fouled off. Well struck right field and it one hops the wall. Lead runner holds at third. So two runners in scoring position and just one out. Love how he let that ball travel, trusted his hands. Nice job of going the other way. So, next to hit for Texas, Evan Carter. This guy can absolutely fly. I think one of the faster players in baseball. And that one fouled off. He’ll one and ball one. Second and third. One away here in the top of the second. So now one and two. Really going after him here. All fast balls to get ahead in the count. Here comes the pinch. Spoils that one. And it remains two and two. swings through it and that’s a strike out. Certainly a strikeout situation right there. The infield play back and this pitcher has to step up and get the swing and miss. Really nice job of attacking the hitter at the plate. Pretty big two out at bat coming up now. And now it’s Jake Burgerer to hit. I’m curious how he decides to attack on the mound. This guy at the plate has been great hitting under pressure this year. That’s in there. And that is strike one. No score here in the second. Close one. Doesn’t get the call and the count is one and one. Two on, two outs and a count one and two. line drive. Base hit. One runs in. Now the second run is in. It’s two nothing. Oh, that’s a big at bat coming through in the clutch to drive in a pair. Pitch was in and off the plate. So hard to do anything with a pitch in that location, but somehow he got the barrel to it and hit it well. Pretty amazing. Kyle Higashioa now at the plate and first offering is fouled off. Four. Burger leads off first with two down to the inning. That one hammered center field. That’s back there and it’s off the batter. A two-run homer and they tack on to their lead. It’s 4 nothing. already playing with the lead and now they’re celebrating a home run. They’re having a great time out there. Boo. I wasn’t sure he hit that one as hard as he needed to to get it out of here, but it had just enough behind it for the homer. What an attempt at the wall, though. He really gave a terrific effort to try and bring that one back. Josh Smith stepping in for the Rangers. fast ball for a strike. Well, they’ve been able to score four runs off of him in this inning. And this is where you want to just max out. Get as much as you can. Give him one of those tough innings where it’s going to be hard for him to recover in the next one. Two outs. And that finds the mark on the outside corner and the count is 0 and two on the outside corner. got him looking. So they move out in front after a fourrun outburst. We go to the bottom of inning number two. It’s the Rangers four and the Angels nothing and welcome back to the ballpark. And now here is Joe Adell taking high in the draft. He’s had that top prospect label over him since he put on a professional uniform. But at some point that starts to go away and you’ve got to produce at the big league level. And there’s a foul ball ball. So a foul ball makes it one and two. And a foul ball. He stays alive. And downstairs Well, he’s having a tough time getting a pitch by him. As a hitter, you feel pretty confident that you’re seeing different pitches still able to make some type of contact. And it remains two and two. Fouled off and they’ll do it again. gets a piece there. We’ll do it again. Outside and now it’s three and two. battling here as he fouls it away. Good job to fight that one off. Drilled out towards left center field. back there and forget it. That one felt good. Home run number 20 on the year. It’s 4-1. He kept swinging and it paid off. Well, that was a battle. Boo again. He just kept taking his cuts. Finally squared one up. We take another look as Snapcast tells us that ball took off at 110 miles an hour and plenty of distance as well. I mean, that was an impressive home run. Bergie squared it up and knew it was gone. Here comes Yan Mona possibly thinking about home run number 100 here. He’s just one shy of that milestone. fought off foul. Mona needs just one more homer to reach a hundred in the big leagues. Yeah, and making it to a 100 homers would be quite the career accomplishment for him. Out of the more than 20,000 players to take an at bat in the majors, less than 5% have ever hit 100 dingers. Just off the outside edge. Ball one. That one missed. Nobody on, nobody out with a run in. Bottom half of inning number two. To the right side. Simeon. Tosses to first and that’s the first out. Nice recovery after giving up the homer. Batting seventh catcher Logan Oh. So in now for the Angels Logan Ohappy and Singy. We already know he’s going to finish the season with a new careerhigh in home runs. Swings through that one. 0 and one. Love to see it. Power versus power right there. And that one missing low. And now one and two. One, two. That one drifts inside. upstairs. He really committed to that fast ball up at the top of the zone. He knows that if he makes a mistake in the zone, it gets hit hard by a power guy like this. That’s a nice miss right there. And they’ll do it again. One down, base is empty. Swing and a miss. And he got him. He didn’t make it easy for him on the mound, but they still get the strike out. Well, not every great at bat ends in a hit. Saw a lot of pitches. That kind of an at bat can be contagious to a lineup. Lamont Wade Jr. at the plate and takes high there. And that gets the inside corner for a strike. Two out. Space is empty. And down on strikes he goes. That K is his third of the game. But the Angels do get one back via the solo homer. It’s now a 4-1 ball game. Back after this on the show. And we’re back. Top half of the third inning. So now it’s Cory Seager. And that one way outside one and0 short stop takes the ball. Well, usually a high level of confidence when you’re facing a young pitcher out there on the mound. In this situation, ahead 20, he’s put himself in a really good spot. out towards right center field. Adele moves under it. Hauls it in for the out. One down. Now batting second base. Now it’s Marcus Simeon. Fly to center. His first time. He’s 0 for one. Now Marcus a career-high 45 homers in 2021 with the Blue Jays. He parlayed that into a 7-year free agent deal with the Rangers. Ground ball up the middle and that squirts through. So, a man aboard now with one away. Up next for the Rangers. Really nice job staying up the middle with his approach. He didn’t try to do too much with the pitch. Just shot it through the infield. One down. Next up for Texas, Adoleis Garcia. And that’s through there for a strike. 4 and one. And there’s a ball man at first. One away. High-fly ball out into left center field. Ward makes the catch for the out. That’s out number two. Now batting the designated hitter Jonah. And now the DH Jonah one for one with a single and a run scored so far. There’s a strike of the knees and it’s 0 and one. This guy’s got a great feel for his breaking ball today in the air right field. Wade makes the grab and that is that one hit, one left. We head now to the home half of inning number three. It’s the Rangers four and the Angels won back here at Angel Stadium. And now it’s the switch hitting second baseman, Luis Reano. Reano. That one finds the zone. Strike one. You know, these Angels showing great discipline at the plate and patience definitely seems to be the name of their game in this one. He’s only given up one run, but the starter pitch count is starting to get up there and that might be the best news yet for this offense. That misses the zone. Now one and two. You know, sometimes all it takes is getting to the next arm before an offense does any damage. And that might be the case today. Hit weakly on the ground towards second. Simeon got him on the off balance throw. One gone. Bottom of the third inning. The shorts stop. Zack Neto. Back to the top of the Angels lineup. And now it’s going to be Zack Neto rolled out to second in his first at bat. just missed and it’s fouled away. One down. Base is empty and that one in the air center field. Carter under it. And there are two down. Now batting first baseman Nolan Nolan Shadowell will hit next. Walked his first time. Well, Chris through the early stages he hasn’t been very efficient in terms of the pitch count. He’s going to need to get some quick outs if he’s going to get deeper into this game. It is interesting though when you consider the way the game is run now. Doesn’t even matter that much if your starter doesn’t go that deep because teams are really aggressively building their bullpens. Not close with that one. And that’s ball one. Fouls that off to the left. And we’ll do it again. Two down. Do on gets under and pops it up. Drops into the glove and that’s the third out. Angels held in check and this is still a 41 ball game. Back in Anaheim, start of the fourth. Here’s the left fielder, Wyatt Langford. Come on, Anaheim. Langford, 23 years old, a former first round pick in 2023. Well, these Rangers doing a great job, Boo, of just waiting for the right pitch to come their way, and I’m seeing very patient at bats out of them. Pitch count is pretty high, and they’ve played with four runs already. So, I think it’s safe to say their game plan is working out pretty well right now. And out number one on the grab. So, they forced the starter to put in a lot of work and they’ve been able to get to him for some runs. And hopefully that bullpin f is working today. Digging in, Evan Carter. He’s 0 for one. Ranger. No. Base is empty. One away. Top half of inning number four. No. Outside. Swings through that one out in front that time. Two balls, one strike. And a breaking ball drops in for a strike. Two balls, two strikes. Sea strikes him out for the second time today. Now batting two outs, base is empty. And now the first baseman, Jake Burgerer singled and scored his first time. That one clips the outside corner. That’s strike one. Just missed. One ball, one strike. A rope into right and that’s a base hit and that keeps the inning going. Now betting catcher Kyle Hagashi getting ready to hit. He’s already homered in this game. Now a close rule to ball. Ball one. No strike. Burger off of first with two away. And another ball movement in the bullpen. Jose Soraniano up and loosening in the pen. Cochanowitz also throwing. Just missed. Foul ball. So now two on your and two outs. Not what he wanted to do right there. Boo. That keeps this inning alive. puts a runner in the scoring position and a chance for this offense to add on to their lead. So, the Rangers batting order turns over now. The third baseman, Josh Smith, bowl for two in this one. Fast for a strike. If he can get through this one, put up a zero. This will help in his outings to come. Fouled off to the right. That’s foul off to the right side. Keeps the AB going. Two outs. Couple of base runners at first and second. stays alive. Fights it off. He’ll see another line drive. Base hit. Burger around third. The throw is offline and he’s in to score. It’s 5-1. Really nice job with two strike hitting in that at bat. Anytime you rip a line drive the other way, you feel really good about what you did at the plate. You trusted your hands. You let the ball travel and you took the barrel straight to it. That’s great work right there. Here comes a skipper out of the dugout and he’s ready to make the move. Samuel Aldigary won’t go any further tonight and it’s going to be a start that he’d like to get a redo on. Not his best. Back with a new arm in a minute. Now pitching. So the Angels turn to their bullpen for a new pitcher number 39. Still pretty early in the ball game. So this bullpen has some work ahead of him. Best case scenario might be if he can come in here and get several quick outs. Kind of bridge the gap that starter left for him. First and second, two outs. Now a chance for Cory Seager. Little chopper rolls foul. Two on, two outs. Hit in the air right field. that one way back there. And that is way gone. He’s up to three home runs in the series. It’s 8-1. With a low 90s fast ball, you have to live on the edges and hit your spots. If you don’t, you’ll get hit hard. Really good swing there. Patient, waited for it. It was like BP all over again. Two outs, nobody on. Here is Marcus Simeon, one for two. And first offering is fouled off. Two outs. Swings and misses. Struck him out. Three-run shot for Texas this inning. Still a lopsided affair at 81. Now you’re watching Major League Baseball exclusively on the show and welcome back to the ballpark. Ready to go bottom four. And now batting Mike Trout. He is quite an athlete. I mean, you look around the other sports, basketball, football. You feel like he could thrive in one of those sports, too. Swinging a foul back. That’s out of play. Clearly down in this ball game. And you can’t look at the deficit and try to get it all back in one swing. It’s got to come one at bat at a time and even shrink it down smaller pitch to pitch. Make that guy on the mound work to get you out late with the swing there. That split is a pretty nasty pitch. Explodes out of the hand. Looks like a fast ball and the bottom just falls out of it. Swing and a miss. Struck him out on a splitter. That’s about as nasty of a splitter as you’ll come across, especially in terms of movement. I mean, that thing tumbles out of his hand and just drops off the table at the last moment. If he keeps it down, it’s just so tough to put wood on. Ward batting for the second time. And that’s strike one. The guy’s going this good. He’s retired seven in a row. You got to step out of the box, fake bunt, do something to break it up. Right back to him on the mound. throws to first. Already two gone here in the home floor. Batting center fielder Joe Adele. Two down, base is empty. And now Joe Adele, he’s already homered here in this one. Let’s go. That one inside. And that’s ball one. Yeah, big swing and a miss. One ball, one strike. And a strike in there. keeps the atbat going with a foul ball. Two down, nobody on. We’re here in the bottom of the fourth. Highf fly ball out towards left field. That one back there and it’s gone. Another homer. His second home run of the game. It’s 82. Well, I’m sure there’s a big grin on his face right now. Boo. He’s probably had some of those that didn’t stay fair, but off the bat, it looked like it was going to bend foul. Was able to keep it in there. Tucked it nicely, and he hits the jog around the bases. Good for him. Monata stands in now and watches strike one. Two down to this one smoked on its way out of here. They do it again. Backto back homers. His seventh home run of the season. And they’re chipping away. It’s 83. Sigy. That’s a special one. His 100th career home run, man. 100 career homers. Pretty impressive. Backto back jacks. And this club is fired up right now, Dave. I mean, this is the kind of thing where you really start to notice hitters in a lineup feeding off each other. And then the collective confidence just continues to grow. So two down and next for the Angels, Logan Ohappy. And that one just misses a ball and no strikes. And that’s downstairs and outside. Two count. You really don’t want to give in here. You got to work the edges. Really execute a pitch. Hopefully, you can get back into this count. Highf fly ball out towards left center. Langford makes the grab. That is the inning. But two round tripers in this inning. The long ball was working. It’s now 83. You’re watching Major League Baseball on the show. And we’re back. Top five, John Shabi with Chris Singleton. And leading it off, Adoleis Garcia. Garcia. You can do it. Let’s go, that one finds the zone. Strike one. Well, these Rangers really impressing me with the quality of their at bats in this one. It’s been fun getting a chance to see them go to work. It looked to me like they really want out towards right center. That’s well struck. Say goodbye to that one. He sends one out the opposite way. His 11th of the year. It’s 93. That’s their third home run of the game. They’re having a lot of fun at the plate in this one. They’ve got the long ball working for them on autopilot. Always scary for a pitcher when a guy can take a fast ball down the middle and hit it to the opposite field. No holes in a swing like that. And that time that ball was hit hard. And now Jonah first pitch misses. Nobody on, nobody out with a run in. We’re in the top of the fifth. And that’s the strike. That one back up the middle and it gets through. I don’t think that pitch would have been called a strike, but he did such a nice job of pulling his hands tight to the body and just getting enough of the barrel on it to be hard enough back up the middle for a knock. So, a man aboard. Up next for the Rangers, Wyatt Langford and a foul ball. Nobody out. Runner at first. Swing and a miss as he was late that time. 02 in the dirt. Double play ball to second. Needto for one. Throw to first, but he beat it. Shakes. Now that is the center fielder, Evan Carter. And now the center fielder, Evan Carter, who’s 0 for two with a pair of strikeouts. Rudder takes off, pitches low, throws, save. That’s a stolen base. Well, I’m sure that steal will raise a couple of eyebrows because of this big lead. But I think it’s more respect for their opponent knowing that they’ve got to continue to add on if they’re going to win this game. Don’t take it as an offense. Take it as a sign of respect. Man at second. Ruer goes again. Pitch misses. Throw to third. Save. They are merciless. I’d say a questionable decision to steal third right there with a big lead. Probably won’t be received well in the other dugout. Next pitch misses way outside. Run around to third. One gone. That clips the corner. And now it’s filled up. Full count and it’s fouled off. They’ll do it again on the inside corner for called strike three. Oh, tough night at the dish. Punching out for the third time right there. He just hasn’t looked very comfortable with the plate. A little unsure of his timing right now. Not picking up the spin and location of these pitches. He’ll have some adjustments to make. Jake Burgerer stepping in for the Rangers. That one’s in there. It’s 0 and one. Runner at third. Two away on the corner for a strike. Perhaps not quite ready to hit. First two pitches by him for a couple of strikes. Now back is against the walls. Going to have to figure something out and figure it out quickly. And a swing and a miss. And that’s that. One scores in the inning coming on this solo home run. It’s now 93. You’re watching Major League Baseball on the show. We head to the bottom of the fifth. So in for the Angels. Lamont Wade Jr. Wade Jr. Vivaldi back to work. That one pushed to the left and fouled. swing and a miss and it’s nothing in two. Well, every pitcher wants run support and having a lead is nice, but it can be challenging for some pitchers. I think keeping the mindset to attack instead of trying to be too fine and have too much finesse, go after hitters and get quick outs. hacks and misses. It’s a strike out. Well, that’s exactly what a good two- strike splitter will do. Duck right under the bat path and that last 15 to 20 ft or so. And at that point, it’s just too late to do anything about it as a hitter. Really nice pitch. Ranifo in the box now. No balls in a strike. up the middle. Seager over to first old man for the fifth inning. Moving along. Two quick outs. They’ve got a pump lineup. And when you think about teams capable of rallying from this kind of deficit, they’re right at the top of the list. And now Zack Neto. gets the call. Strike one. Looked pretty good as far as being in the strike zone, but I’m sure as a hitter not too good with where it was located. Very top of the strike zone. Middle away. And that one is in the dirt. One and one. shot missed. They can’t play around with him here. It’s a six-run lead at this point. Got to attack hitters even if you give up a solo shot. This to third. Angels retired. One, two, three. Angels go quietly there. Still way back. It’s 93 back here at Angel Stadium. Top of the sixth inning. Now it’s going to be Kyle Higashioa. Looking good, Angel. This one popped up. Foul ground first base side. Oh settles under it and makes the catch and there’s one down. That was a good pitch to hit right down the heart of the plate. Had pretty good timing on it. Just got underneath it a little bit and popped it up. So the lineup flips over. Josh Smith stepping in for the Rangers. And first offering is fouled off. Yeah, that’s fouled off outside corner. Got him looking. Well, he froze him with a great fast ball right on the corner. It’s kind of rolling when you think the ball’s going to get into the gutter and somehow just hangs onto that edge and knocks down a pin. Well, he got the outside corner of the plate and got that called third strike. And here’s Cory Seager to hit in the air center field. Adele moves under it, brings it in and that’ll do it. Three up, three down that time. 234 do up in the home half of the six. It’s the Rangers nine and the Angels three. Back in Anaheim, ready to go for the last half of the inning. And here’s the first baseman, Nolan Showell. And that drops in for a strike. Doublebarreled action in the bullpen. Jack Lighter, the rookie righthander, is getting loose. Rocker getting cranked up as well. Swings and misses and one down below the zone. Man, that’s just a nasty splitter. Bottom falls out of it. You don’t see a lot of guys throw that these days, but I tell you what, he’s got a good one. And that one is downstairs and the count one and two. And foul ball. That’s a little bit low. This guy’s a fun guy to watch taken at bat. He just battles up there. He doesn’t take a pitch off at all. Makes it so difficult on the pitchers out there. You can tell they get frustrated with how long it takes to put him away. Line drive base hit and the leadoff man aboard. Up next for the Angels. Great speed and great power. a great athlete. Quite simply, when you have a real athletic player and who’s able to do the baseball mechanical things really well, look out because the sky’s is the limit on that potential. Oh, he doesn’t get the call. And it’s one and0. Just missed. Struggled a little bit in this one. couple of strikeouts earlier, but doing a much better job in this at bat to get ahead and find a good hitter’s count at two and 0. That misses. And that’s ball three. And ball four to a board. Pretty easy walk right there. Last pitch wasn’t even much to think about. And the Rangers manager making his way towards the mound now as he will make the move. That’ll be it for Nathan Evaldi. And the line not closed on him yet as he’s responsible for the runners on base. Back with a new pitcher after this. Now pitching for the left-hander on now, Robert Garcia. Well, he’s been a really tough guy to take deep this season. You usually have to string some hits together in order to get to him. Next to hit, Taylor Ward. Come on, Angels. Swing and a ball popped in the air and that will drop foul. Yeah, Angels. All right, Angel. No, boys. Two strike. Spoils a two- strike pitch. And he’ll see another. First and second, no outs here in the bottom of the sixth. And that’s outside. And it’s one and two. One ball, two strikes, gets a piece, and stays alive. This guy’s seen two change ups in a row. Could be a little vulnerable for a fast ball right here. That one not close. Two balls, two strikes to count. the other way. Dives, but it kicks off his glove. No throw and that loads the bases. Well, that’s one of those knocks where you almost expect to get some jabs from your teammates when you get back to the dugout. Tied him up really well with that pitch inside. Couldn’t get it out of the infield, but somehow turns it into a knock. That’s a thing of beauty. And some hits just don’t. There’s a swing and a try. And that one’s the wall. Didn’t take long to get a result for that at bat. I’ll tell you, when you smoke a line drive into the gap like that, I mean, sure, home runs are king, but I feel like nothing makes you feel like a true professional hitter more than a bolt the other way. Here is Monata. He’s been a great free agent side. Fouled off down the right side. When it unravels, it can unravel pretty quickly. And right now, you’re in a situation where you’re one swing away from it being a one-run ball game. Not even close there at one and one. Hitter’s got some good opposite field power. What I like about something being hit to the right side into the outfield is that the base runner at second has a very good read and can determine whether or not he can score on that base hit. And it’s even up. It might be time to choke up a little bit. Get that front foot down early. Maybe even just spread out. He’s really late right now. Swings through that and it’s a strike out and that’s the first out. Logan O’Hap the next to hit. You have to find a way to score the runner from third, especially with less than two outs. Wait for the pitch you want and hit it as hard as you can. That one finds the zone. That’s strike one. Really good job in this spot to get ahead in the cow. He’s going to have to continue finish off this hitter. Just missed. Ball two. Next offering is in for a strike. Ward on third. Adele over at second with one down. Next pitch is downstairs. That one the other way there for the out. Runner scores from third. Here’s Lamont Wade Jr. and this is a big opportunity for him to pick up his teammate right here. And that one fouled off. Pitch is in the dirt and the count even. One and one. Two outs with a runner at third. Here’s a rip to short, but he’s there for the third out. Three runs on three hits, no errors, and a runner left. We’re through six full. It’s the Rangers nine and the Angels six. Now pitching. Welcome back. We’re in the seventh. We have a new pitcher on the mound, Jose Soraniano. Pretty tight game, so they’re looking for quality pitches out of him right here. Got to do his best to keep the score right where it is. Marcus Simeon stepping in for the Rangers. One for three. The pitch Soraniano goes 6′ 3 in. He features a sinker, a slur, a four seamer, a splitter, and he works in a slider. That pitch in for a strike and it’s 0 and two. That’s down and in. Got him swinging. Had him way out front of the slur. Insteps. Adoleis Garcia, also known as El Bombi. Right fielder. Adoleis Garcia. He swings and fouls one off. That one’s upstairs. Ball one. Activity in the bullpen. Sam Bachmann, the hardthrowing righty, is up and loosening. Coach Chanowitz warming up as well. Base is empty, one away here in the top half of inning number seven. Next offering is fouled back. Next pitch, a slider that misses outside two. And that one is inside. That’s hard hit on the line. And that’s a fair ball. Now he’ll turn for second. The throw in. Throw is offline and he’s got a double. The first move felt like a bit of a guess. You have to be right in those spots or things get away from you awfully quickly. Next is the designated hitter, Jonah. Just missed. The next pitch misses and a countdown two and nothing. Next offering is fouled back. Swing and a highf fly ball out towards right field. He’s got it. Two down. Those can be pretty fun as an outfielder. got to put it into his highest gear and go a long way to track that one down. Nothing better than that. You feel like a wide receiver playing football. So, next to hit for Texas, Wyatt Langford, that misses and that is ball one. rips that one center field and there’s a hit now. A long throw home. It’s offline. The run comes in. It’s 106. Well done. Drives in the run. Just a very nice approach and swing right there to use the big part of the field. Everything was on time. He stayed balanced through the entire swing and just launched that one into center. Two outs, runner at first. Evan Carter stepping in for the Rangers. Runner on the go. Pitch misses. Throw to second. Out at second. That ends the inning, but they pick up one run on the RBI single. It’s now a four-run game at 106. It’s Major League Baseball on the show. We’re back in a new pitcher here to start the bottom of the seventh, Jack Lighter. and he’s had his struggles so far this year. As you can see, the inflated erra looking to bring that down a little bit right here. Luis Reano digs in now has grounded out a couple of times. Luis Reano. That’s inside. And that’s ball one. just missed. And now two balls in a strike. In this situation, you expect the batters to be a little more patient, possibly take until they get a strike. With that, you don’t want to miss your opportunity to get ahead early in the count. He didn’t right there. That one almost got him. One strike. He full count. Fouled off and they’ll do it again. Highf fly ball right field. Garcia settles under it. Puts it away for the out. And there’s one away. Now batting shortstop Zack. And now the shorts stop Zack Meadow. 0 for three in this one. Ball on there. The Rangers leading by four here. Bottom of the seventh. Next offering upstairs, swaying in a ball hammered left field. Langford going back onto the track and he makes the catch. Now batting first base. Two outs. Base is empty. Now here is Nolan Shanuel. That one in the dirt. One and0. Ground ball right side. It squirts through. So a two out knock keeps the inning alive. Now Trout gets a chance to hit a walk and a pair of strikeouts. Mike Trout and first offering is fouled off. There’s a line drive to left field. Nice grab on the run and that will end the inning. Angels strand one as the lead holds at 106. And welcome back to the ballpark. Here’s the center fielder, Evan Carter. Soraniano back to work. Fouled off left side. Here comes the one and the pitch is outside. Ball one. One ball, one strike. line drive caught. That’ll drive you crazy as a hitter if you let it. I mean, he could have hit that ball more in the screws than he did and yet he’s got nothing to show for it. Hang with him. I know the feeling. Next up for Texas, Jake Burgerer. First pitch not close. One down. Base is empty. No. And now two and two. And down on strikes. And there’s two down. And that clips the inside corner. Two down, nobody on. And we’re in the top of the eighth. Next offering is down low. Got the back going too soon. It’s strike two. Well, that’s that slug right there. He threw it extremely well. Talk about just a ton of break. So tough to get that barrel to. I wouldn’t say the game’s close right now, but it’s not out of reach either. I mean, these pitchers really need to put up a zero on the board just to maintain a little hope. Two outs. Swings and misses at the pitch off the plate. Sends it to first. Rangers go down in order. Three up, three down for him there. Last half of the eighth coming up, it’s the Rangers 10 and the Angels six. Now pitching for Mar Rocker taking over on the mound and he’s been hit pretty hard at times this year so he’s looking for better right now giving up more than a hit per in any now the left fielder Taylor Ward the Angels in striking distance but have some work to do it starts with the laidoff man I need a good at bat out of him right here strike on the outside corner and one swinging a foul straight back and one and two. One ball, two strikes. swinging a miss struck him out and that’s the first out. Oh, that slider down and away. It’s just kind of a slow death with two strikes you’re looking to protect and halfway to the plate, you know you’ve committed and you know you’re going to have no chance of touching it. Tell you what, sometimes you just have to tip your cap. Adele batting with one down takes a strike. Action in the pen down there. Shawn Armstrong, the veteran right-hander, appears to be loosening up. Web also getting ready out to short. Seager whips it to first on the run. Nicely done for the out. Good late bite on that slider. Got the hitter out in front. Rolled over on it. Exactly what he was supposed to do. And now Yan Mona. Fast in for a strike. And it’s 0 and one. Swing and a ground ball out to short on to first. Three up, three down. Inning over. Now pitching. We’re back. It’s the top of the ninth and there’s a new pitcher on the machanowitz. He’s been so good against lefties. And now it’s the Rangers lead off him. Josh Smith. Third base. Josh Smith. Swinging a liner. Foul off to the right. Next offering is in the dirt. 1-1. In the air, left field down the line. Ward pulls it down and there’s one away. Now batting shorts stop Cory Seager. Here comes Cory Seager. He really made his presence back in the fourth inning of this one. Singi, absolutely. Three-run blast and a shot of energy for his teammates. Everyone in that dugout was pretty fired up and takes low for ball one. Meanwhile, activity in the bullpen. Sam Bachmann up and throwing. Brown ball to the right side and he handles it himself for the out. Two down, base is empty. Now at the plate, Marcus Simeon and first offering is fouled off. Two down. Nobody on. Smoked on the ground. A second. Gets it to first and the inning is over. So no runs, no hits, no errors, and no one left. Bottom part of the order. 789. Two up in inning number nine. It’s the Rangers 10 and the Angels six. All set for the bottom of the ninth at the plate. Logan Ohappy. Logan O’H. And that one pulled foul and a swinging to miss. There’s a certain point where you have to commit to what you think you see. And he guessed wrong right there. Nasty slider with just terrific bite at the end. Line drive. Langford snags it. One away. Now batting right fielder. He’s two outs away. Lamont Wade Jr. the next to hit for the Angels. first offering and it just misses. One ball, one strike. The 1-1 is fouled off. Foul ball left side. He’ll see another. That wasn’t an easy pitch to hit. It’s much easier to do damage against mistakes, but that’s not what that pitch was. And a foul ball. He stays alive. Fast ball is outside. Two balls, two strikes. And they’ll do it again. Oh, he’s desperately looking for that swing and miss. He’s going to have to just change speeds a little bit, try to move it around, create just a little bit of illusion at the end. Ninth pitch of the at bat do next. Swing and a miss and he chases that one in the dirt. They’re up with it to first in time for the second out. Good job to clean it up after the drop third strike. He’s locked in at the plate when he’s using the whole field. He was out in front there. Just needs to let the ball travel a little more and his timing will be back on track. Good pitch for the strikeout. Angels down to their final out. And next for LA, Luis Ranifo in there and it’s 0 and one. The Halos down by four here. The last half of inning number nine. Up the middle. Fires to first on the run. And that is the ball game. Plenty of runs to go around in this one. Not a great day to be a pitcher. These hitters looked like they were having a lot of fun. It’s like they knew what was coming. Final score here today 106 for Chris Singleton and our entire outstanding crew here at MLB the show. I’m John Shami. We’ll see you soon. What the move?
