All right, what’s happening? It’s your boy Rio from Street School. Sorry I’ve been gone so long. It was vacation and I’m still pretty sick, but I had to come out. I had to pop out for this one, man. And I’m not even going to waste too much of y’all time. I’m going to show y’all what the designs look like. I’m going to give y’all my live reaction. The commanders have 74 photos attached to this. We’re going to try to scroll through all of those quickly. They also have some background information on everything. Nicki Javala also already gave us the days, the exact weeks and opponents that we will wear these jerseys against this season, all that. We’re going to dive into all that and more. Again, been went from vacation super busy to super sick and so I’m getting a little bit better now. you know, found enough energy to I mean, this seeing these jerseys, I got enough energy to record a video. I’m like, man, I got to get on it. So, hey, man, let’s go ahead and dive into this video right now, man. Let’s get it. Adam, Adam. [Music] Yes, sir. Not fight for old DC, but fit for old DC. I kind of like how they did that right there. But there you go. They are some white uniforms. And we could kind of see like when they gave us the preview a long time ago and then like the photo was darkened a little bit. A lot of people just simply brighten the photo somewhat and you could kind of see that okay, it’s looking like a white jersey, but there’s no way to tell. We just knew it was Jay Davs. We could kind of see the helmet a little bit and things like that. All they did was darken it and then all you had to kind of do was brighten it some and you could kind of tell it was a white jersey but of course we didn’t want to jump to conclusions but it definitely looked like okay the new jersey is going to end up being a white one. And then lo and behold as we can clearly see this is a brand new technically old white jersey. This is a throwback man. And speaking of throwback I love how they put this together. Shouts out to Jake Russell for this one to compare it right next to Doug Williams. I’m pretty sure Doug Williams is happy to see this. everybody that’s involved. I like the way that this looks. It’s not exactly the same, but it’s a it’s a nice salute and a head nod to the to the winning that we used to do back in the 80s and 90s before. Again, I wasn’t even born. I wasn’t even alive for any of the Super Bowls, but I still appreciate this look. Of course, they couldn’t go back to the Redskins logo on the helmet. They had to do the W. but pretty much almost in every other way. This is the same uniform that it used to be back when we used to play at RFK and we were winning Super Bowls. Now, we’re on the way back to RFK in 2030. Even though I have some updates for y’all there as far as like I don’t know, people seem like they’re trying to delay it. We’ll see. We have some good news and bad news as far as the stadium whenever I, you know, I find the time to do that video and the energy to do that video. But hey, at the very least, we’re moving slowly back towards the colors. Now, to go back to this picture while we talk about some things real quick. First of all, shouts out to Nick Javala because we will be wearing these uniforms three times this season. They’re called the Super Bowl era alternate uniforms. Again, three games this season. You’ll have to wait till week nine versus versus the Seattle Seahawks, November 2nd for you to see the jerseys for the first time on the Commanders players in a game. Just to let you know, week nine, November 2nd versus the Seahawks. Then the second time will be four weeks later, week 13 versus the Denver Broncos on my birthday, November 30th. And then we wear them again, week 17 versus the Dallas Cowboys on Christmas. I like the way that schedule um ended up going. I It would have been nice if they could have debuted this sooner, but you know, you never know. Maybe we’re going into week nine. We’re like seven and two, at least six and three. We’re feeling good. And then we we bring out the new uniforms. You know what I’m saying? That would be amazing. Well, really seven and one or like a six and two cuz that’ll be eight weeks in going into week nine. But either way, y’all get the point, man. You know, we have a really good record and then we get the new uniform. So, it brings like a whole another wave of excitement. I think that’s pretty good timing. It would have been nice earlier, but I think in the middle of the season is also pretty nice as well. And then the Denver Broncos game, I think that’s going to be a huge matchup. Everybody’s going to be watching that, even outside of just the the jerseys being brought out again for only the second time. Also, I mean, the Jada Daniels versus Bo Knicks, and I think the Broncos are gonna have a really good record by then as well. So, that’s going to be a huge game that everybody’s watching. And then to bring them out again on Christmas, hey man, we’re going to look good on prime time. A lot of these games, I think all of those games are prime time if I’m not mistaken. I know the Seattle Seahawks game. I remember talking about that one cuz it’s like nobody’s coming to see you, Otis. Like, nobody no that’s not prime time because of the Seahawks. That’s prime time because of Jada Daniels and the Commanders. And um maybe the Denver Broncos game is prime time. And of course us playing Dallas on Christmas, nobody else playing at the time that we’re playing. I mean that’s super it’s technically not prime time, but it’s one of those major games. But I call it prime time for what it’s all considered. But at the end of the day, man, all we care about is look at these jerseys, man. You have Jeremy Reeves, Jayen Daniels, and Zach going from right to left, man. And shouts out to him, man. We look good again. And just to go back to this picture comparing Jayden Daniels to Doug Williams. Remember Doug Williams the first black quarterback to ever go to a Super Bowl and win a Super Bowl. That’s Bergy and Gold history right there. So these jerseys make me think of that. That’s just me personally. And then also shouts out to like Zack Selby of like the official Washington Commanders like.com URL and all of that. He said the Washington Commanders have unveiled their new alternate Super Bowl era uniforms and helmet which pay homage to the franchise’s most successful period on the 93rd anniversary of the team’s inception. The uniforms and helmet will be worn three times during the 2025 season like we’ve already talked about. And just to let you know that Christmas game versus Dallas Cowboys will be on Netflix. Everybody’s going to be watching that. And shouts out to Commanders team president Mark Klouse. He gave a press release. He said, quote, “We are excited to celebrate Washington’s rich history with this iconic Super Bowl era uniforms this season. Ever since Josh Sher ownership group acquired the team back in 2023, they’ve placed great value in finding ways to connect the past and present and pay homage to those that made the Burgundy and Gold what it is today. Unquote. I love that. Short, simple, to the point. Said a lot in very few words. I like that. And then continuing with Zach Selby said, “The uniform design draws inspiration from the ones Washington wore during all three of the franchise Super Bowl wins in 1982, 1987, and 1991. The white jersey features burgundy numbers with gold outlines and gold stripes on the sleeves. The players name plates will have burgundy letters with the same gold outline and the burgundy pants and socks will include gold and white stripes. The helmet will have iconic look of the 1980s, 1990s alongside the team’s current logo. It will have a gold mask as well as white and gold stripes down the center of the helmet. We’ve already seen all of that. And then you also have another quote from Mark Claus that said, quote, “These uniforms honor the most successful error of our franchise, one that reflects a culture of excellence and encompasses many historical moments and special memories amongst our fan base. We look forward to bringing that nostalgic feeling back to the fans while incorporating a modern feel of our generation, next generation of fans,” unquote. And these are officially licensed Super Bowl era jerseys which will be available for purchase early in September. And I’m letting you know right now, I agree with my boy Ed Oliver. Those Jaden Daniels ones are going to fly right off of the shelves. I’m warning you right now. The Jaden Daniels jerseys, boy, you better get on that immediately cuz as soon as that’s released, it’s going to be almost as hard to get those as it is to get this the tickets to the Spain Madrid game. Like those tickets right now, it’s a huge weight list. I saw a screenshot of somebody that tried to get it the day it came out and they were like 40,000th in line or something like that. But the Jada Daniels jerseys may not necessarily be that difficult, but it’s going to be pretty difficult. I’m pretty sure they’re going to sell out. So, if you really want one, you better make sure you get on that. And speaking of Jada Daniels, shouts out to Javala for pointing this out, but I don’t know if y’all remember back on August 10th of 2024 when he was talking about the play that he switched it to a 42-y completion Dami Brown back in preeason. He pretty much gave everybody a preview of the jersey. Now, granted, um, this may not have been necessarily been by design. This could just be completely by coincidence, but who knows? Maybe Jada Daniels, maybe they already had the jersey set. Maybe Jada Daniels already knew the jerseys and then he just kind of gave us a sneak peek here, some clues in a very slick way. Who knows? I I don’t know. But shouts out to Dick Javala for pointing out the fact that he did wear a Doug Williams jersey that is pretty that is very reminiscent of what the exact jerseys look like right now. And here are the four photos, the main four that they’re using to market this. Of course, you have Jaden Daniels Flexi. You know what I’m saying? That boy look good in new jerseys, man. I’m rocking with it, too. I mean, there’s not much to really talk about jersey-wise because it’s a carbon copy of what we used to wear, except for instead of a Redskins logo, it’s a W on the side. That’s literally the only change right here. You have Zack Z in the frame holding the football. Then you have somebody holding the helmet. I maybe I’m not exactly sure who that’s who that is. I’m not even going to say and speculated. But then you have Jeremy Reeves right here. Shouts out to Jeremy Reeves for wearing the uniform as well. Looking good. Yes, sir. Yes, sir. Let’s get it. Now, again, they have 74 photos that they uploaded. So, you have Frankie Lou right here wearing the uniform. Here’s a shout out to the to the, you know, the Redskins winning Super Bowls days. You have the foam finger and everything like that. I believe that’s John. Is that John Rigggins in the back? Yes, sir. You got Jada Daniels with the football right here. They’re showing an uplose view of the stitching. They have elite old Redskins history cards. Larry Brown and those guys. Jimmy Smith. Yes, sir. Man, you got this right here. You know what I’m saying? Yes, sir. Yes, sir. And again, this is directly on the commanders.com website. Like, directly from the commanders themselves. This is a photo shoot that they had. They had this ready. This is be I got to do something like this. I got to copy this and do it even better. I ain’t going to lie. Yes, sir, man. Yes, sir. Zach with the pose. Let’s get it. We’re on picture 61. Jada Ds looking happy. Yo, we’re definitely going to use this picture a lot. I I like the Wedies box that they always have there, too, man. Shouts out to that, man. That’s history right there. That’s real history. Bobby Wagner, that picture’s cold, too. Yes, sir. We got some Daryl Green. Yes, sir. Frankie Louvu. Clean helmet. Isolated. Yeah, that’s a clean I ain’t going to lie, that’s a clean helmet. That’s a clean helmet, man. Okay, Frankie Louvu. Then last couple of pictures. Yes, sir. Okay. Okay. I believe that’s Zack Erns right there. Now, one thing I do want to note though, not going to lie, and this is something that, you know, just kind of stood out for me is that, you know, may I’m pretty sure it’s nothing. I’m going to go ahead and get this out the way and say that it’s more than likely 99% chance nothing. But they’re showcasing Frankie Lubu, Bobby Wagner, Jada Daniels, Jeremy Reeves, Zack Hurts, no Terry McLuren in any of these pictures. Maybe he was away from the facilities. It was probably during the time that he was, you know, holding out, I guess, from I mean, you could technically can’t hold out a voluntary practices, but you know, while he was, maybe that’s when they did this. Of course, he held out a mandatory mini camp when they were actually required practices still. So, that was technically a hold out. Maybe it was during that time period that they took these pictures. You know, we remember we had media day way, way back. Maybe they went ahead and took those pictures during then as well. And I guess Terry McLaren was not there for that. Again, it’s more than likely absolutely nothing at all. But I did just want to point out the fact that we looked at all of those pictures and all of those different people and Terry McLaren was not one of them. So, I just wanted to definitely make sure we pointed out. But also, shouts out to John K. He said a while back he talked to members of the organization who knew the jerseys needed to be corrected with a nod to the past. The prior group went too far with the redesign of the unis and it’s still to be determined if this becomes the new look in a year or two. So, this could eventually end up replacing the white jersey completely. I know a lot of people don’t necessarily like like the white jerseys. I don’t own one. I don’t hate it. I like it. I don’t necessarily love it. And I’m pretty sure a lot of people would be in favor of this just completely replacing the white jerseys that we wear now as being our away jerseys. We wear the the mostly burgundy ones for home. We occasionally wear the blacks in certain situations and you wear these for all of the away games. I feel like most people would probably prefer that. Probably is a small section of y’all out there that prefer the the newer the well the the current white jerseys that we have right now cuz again these that you’re looking at right now that just got announced are technically alternate jerseys. They’re not a part of the permanent rotation. So but either way I’m chilling out of the way whether this becomes the new away jersey. If it stays the alternate and we wear them three four times a year that’s cool with me. I’m just interested in seeing how we’re going to balance this out because you still have black alternate uniforms. So, how often are we going to wear those? Maybe two three times a year as well, which that that’s like six games of alternate uniforms alone. So, now you only have like 11 12 games worth of regular jerseys and then you got to split that up for home and away. So, I think it’s pretty interesting. You know, it’s going to probably it’s going to almost feel like we wear other jerseys as much as the other ones. So, now we apparently have four uniforms head to toe in rotation. I like that. That’s cool. And again, we’re going to wear these jerseys three times. You got to wait till week night against Seattle Seahawks to see them for the first time in person. So, don’t forget that. I’m pretty sure, you know, soon after this, the hype of this is going to die down and we’re going to forget, oh yeah, we do have new uniforms. And it’s probably going to sneak up on us by the time we get the weekend. Like, oh yeah, we do have the new old uniforms. And hey, man, I think that’s going to be really nostal again. If we have a really good record by then, say we’re like seven and one going into that game, six and two, that jersey hype is going to be even crazier, man. So, I’m super excited about that. and we’re going against the Denver Broncos, who are more than likely going to be a really good team. I really like this, man. Shouts out to the Commanders. I feel like they did this the right way. I like the way that they unveiled the jerseys. I feel like they did a good thing. Um, I wasn’t one of those people that was super passionate. Like, it’s got to go back to the old way, but I do like it. I respect it. Salute to them. I feel like they did it well. Shouts out to Mark Claus coming in being the team president, helping with the whole thing. Josh Harrison, everybody. Magic Johnson. Shouts out to everybody that was probably involved. Like guys like Doug Williams, they were probably heavily involved and everything like that, too. So, hey man, shouts out to everybody. I like the new uniforms. It’s a big big shout out and salute to the good old days when we was going crazy. So I understand, man. I understand the attachment that a lot of y’all have to especially these jerseys specifically.
