As a kid I remember watching a video of him repeatedly going bar down while using just one hand on the top of his stick. Cedar trees for forearms.
He was so insanely skilled that him only being 89th all time in regular season points….not going g to say having a 1000 point career is a let down.
However, it feels like he should have ended up much higher…right?
Was he fast or slow? That goal against Detroit in the clip is a great example of what I mean. Was he deceptively fast? He looks almost lackadaisical from boards to blueline, but then he takes two quick strides to beat the second defender to his spot after turning the corner around the guy covering him. Actually crazy that was a sentence about NHL hockey lol.
