Jackson Merrill hits TWO GAME-TYING HOMERS off of Zack Wheeler 🀯

Here’s young Jackson Merrill, a all-star as a rookie last season. He had 24 home runs. He is in one of those slumps that every major league player seemingly is going to go through. It’s really been typical Philly’s starting pitching. They lead Major League Baseball in quality starts. Wheeler with a clean inning would have a 53rd Philadelphia quality start this year. Nobody just about and certainly not in the National League has seen more quality starts than the Padres’s. They get quality started to death. It feels like almost half the games that the Padres’s have played this year, the opposing starter has gone six and allowed three runs or less. Merryill drills one deep right field backcast to Yanos. How about two? How about a tie game? Wow. Oh my goodness. And it was another fast ball up. Another fast ball on the hundth Wheeler pitch of the day. Jackson Merrill had been broke for more than a month and he has struck Zack Wheeler twice. We’re tied again. If you got him on your fantasy team, put him back in the lineup cuz he’s about to get red hot, blazing lava hot at him. Jackson Merrill. Two of the best swings of his season tonight off of Zack Wheeler. The best fast ball in all of baseball and the hardest to hit at the top of the zone. Look, he can’t believe it. He was so stubborn about throwing that pitch cuz he just knew that there was no way he could do it again. And the young fella stepped up and tied the game.

San Diego Padres center fielder Jackson Merrill hit two game-tying home runs against Philadelphia Phillies ace Zack Wheeler. It’s the first time a player has hit multiple home runs in a game off of Wheeler since Buster Posey did it on 4/20/21.

  15. Omg finally, he is 5-53 entering the game without a homer in 35 games, finally it looks like his swing is better and the padres are winning more!
