This is going to come from this matchup between the New York Mets and the Kansas City Royals from Kaufman Stadium. The Royals sending out Noah Cameron for the start in this one while the Mets will counter with Klay Holmes. And Holmes got hit by the Baltimore Orioles last time out for five runs on seven hits. only had five strikeouts over the five innings of work in his last start, but he’s been still a quality option for the uh the New York Mets for much of the season. So, that’s an erra just over three at 3.29. And he’s actually been putting up, you know, a lot of starts where he’s given up two runs or less. Now, granted, they’ve been about five inning starts, but still, for me, I think it’s enough that, you know, I give Klay Holmes the benefit of the doubt against, you know, some solid opposition. And as much as I like the Kansas City Royals and some of the names in this lineup, the fact of the matter is is that the Kansas City Royals, I keep alluding to it, you know, have one of the highest number of games played where they’ve scored three runs or less this season in all of baseball. And, you know, the offense against right-handed pitching in the month of July so far is really, you know, nothing to be all that excited about. The team OPS numbers are bottom 10. You know, the batting average sits at 230. They do have a low strikeout rate, just over 18%. But like I said, it’s just hard to get behind numbers like those, especially, like I said, given the track record of the Royals this season. On the other side, though, you have the New York Mets, who have been actually one of the worst teams in baseball against left-handed pitching for much of the season. Now, you look at their numbers against lefties in the month of July so far, and the Mets hitting just 224, 21.8% strikeout rate. The team OPS numbers are bottom 10. The isolated power numbers are not very good either. Those are those are just outside the bottom 10. So for me against a guy like Noah Cameron who was fully capable of putting together a strong showing. I mean Cameron bounced back nicely. He had a bit of a rough outing against the Dodgers at home. But I mean realistically there’s going to be a lot of pitchers that are going to get hit hard by the Dodgers and the Yankees. But last time out at home against, you know, a Pirates offense that hasn’t done well against Lefties. Gave up just two runs on three hits over seven innings of work. Had seven strikeouts. I think this could be a nice bounceback start for Noah Cameron as well. I think if there’s going to be any damage done in this game, I think it’s going to come against these bullpens later. So, I’m going to roll with the under in the first five. Like I said, I think it’s just going to be a bit of a pitcher duel early on before the offense shows up later in the game. So, give me the under in the first five between the Royals and the Mets. And that’s going to be my free pick.
