49ers Jennings Trade Request and Purdy Snubbed π
Jawan Jennings requests a trade and Brock Party snubbed by ESPN. We’ll get to it next. [Music] All right, welcome back to Last Second Sports where we are giving you our take down to the last second. It’s been a while and I’m going to be really really transparent and honest with all of you. Um because this is the time of year where normally things really ramp up and they will across the platform and they will eventually for me as well. Uh normally I would be getting ready to go to training camp next week. Super excited about it, but I uh I decided not to go this year. And um I’m not going to get into details or anything like that, but I do pride myself on treating this community like a big family and being truthful with everybody. And I just have to be honest and let you guys know that I’m really, really, really going through something um that I wouldn’t wish upon anybody. And it’s going to be a tough next few months at the very very least. So all I would ask is if you are the praying type to please pray for me and my family and if you are not and you can send good vibes or whatever, then I’ll take those too. But, um, yeah, I I just I had to get that off my chest because I think anybody who watches me going forward, I I think it would be obvious maybe if something’s on my mind or or what have you. And I I just I want it out there. I want it out there. So, that’s where that’s where it is. That’s what’s going on. Um, forgive me if I’m not as consistent as I normally would be, but I’ve got some things that are going to take priority. I would also hope that those of you that do watch and do enjoy, don’t go anywhere. It’s not like I’m going to be gone forever. Um, or or even that I’m going to be gone necessarily at all. I I just won’t be as consistent and I won’t be ramping up at the level that I I normally do. Like next week I’m supposed to be doing like five, six shows a week and I don’t think I’ll I’ll be there by then. Um, you know, most of you who do watch on a consistent basis know that I’m a believer in Jesus Christ. Um, I’m currently in a six right now is day six of a water fast. So fasting and praying, those of you that are believers, you know that fasting and praying is is super clutch when it comes to Christianity. And so today’s day six. So my my mind might not be as sharp as normal either, but uh I just I had to get that off my chest. I had to let you guys know that what’s going on. And uh I hope you guys hope you guys stick with me. So, that being said, we do have some 49ers news. And uh looks like Jawan Jennings, I didn’t see this coming, I will say. But I’m also not totally shocked from the standpoint that Jawan Jennings last year, I don’t know if you remember, he was offered his restricted free agent contract extension and he didn’t really sign it, but there was a lot of question marks back and forth on whether he did sign it or he didn’t sign it. I remember there was about a month where we thought he did. I was saying he didn’t, but then everybody was like, “No, he did.” I’m like, “All right, I guess he did.” and then he hadn’t and then ultimately he signs a two-year extension, but here we are one year into that two-year deal and he’s not happy, which is understandable. I But also interesting. Why sign the 2-year extension and then be unhappy when you could have maybe just done a one-year deal? I I don’t know. But I don’t begrudge him. I mean, this is what you have to do as an athlete. He’s 28 years old. Jawan Jennings isn’t young. I I know that just last year he had his first near 1,00 yard season. You would think that he’s younger than he is, but he’s not. He’s not that young. And this is this may be the only time in his career that he can take advantage and get a contract. But from a 49ers standpoint, we talked about this earlier the off seasonason and brought up should they extend Jawan Jennings? Should they get ahead of it? Assuming that he would be fine playing out his final year of his deal, but what if he balls out again? Should they get ahead of it? And at that time, I I said no. And I’m still saying no. They they shouldn’t extend him. Now, here’s what they risk, though. If they don’t extend him, the season could start out really rocky. Really rocky from a wide receiver standpoint. No Brandon Nauk, no Jawan Jennings if if you trade him because it sounds like he’s planning on requesting a trade if he doesn’t get a deal. Doesn’t sound like he’ll hold out. So, that’s good. Also, pretty smart. I don’t think he’s the caliber of player that can just hold out and expect things to go his way. I do think that he has to practice. I also think that ultimately push come to shove, the 49ers could make him play out the final year of his deal. That’s risky, too, for multiple reasons. We’ll get into that. But who who are the wide receivers? We’ve got a suspension coming to a player that the 49ers brought over from the Rams most likely. We’ll see how that goes. You’re not going to have Brandon Iuk. It’s an outside shot. He could play week one, but most likely he doesn’t play. And then you’ve got Ricky Pierce going into year two who I think can be pretty good, but I don’t think he’s a number one wide receiver. I I don’t think he was ever going to be that. So now he’s your number one. Also a player who you can’t rely on yet to stay healthy. I’m not saying he’s injuryprone, but you do have to remember last training camp, last OTAAS, he was hurt. He had a hamstring. He had a shoulder. He had another little issue going on. Then he had the unfortunate situation of being shot. And I think people forget that it wasn’t because he was shot that he missed the whole off season. That didn’t happen until the I think the last day of August. He missed the off season because he was getting hurt. And then in OTAA’s this year, he was hurt. So can you rely on him to stay healthy? And then you’ve got him cowing who didn’t do much last year. Not necessarily his own fault, but you’re asking him to step up. Watkins, it could be pretty dire. It could be pretty dire. So what do the 49ers do? I mean, if you don’t extend Jennings, that’s what you’re risking. But this is about the long term. This season was never going to be a Super Bowlinning team. So, would it be smart to move on from Jawan Jennings if that’s what it’s going to take if that means not signing him to a long-term extension? It may be. It may be. I’m not closing the door saying Jawan Jennings shouldn’t be signed under any circumstances, but for what I think he’s going to want, I’m going to guess 14 to 17 million a year, which is fair for him, probably a three or fouryear deal. I wouldn’t do it. You can’t sign everybody forever. You just can’t. And you have to start deciding who are the core players. Who’s the core? Is Jawan Jennings really a part of the core? I don’t think he is. I don’t think he is. I think he’s an awesome player. I think he’s a great attitude on the field. Certainly hasn’t had any off-field issues. I think he’s been a really good pro altogether from where he came in in the draft. you know, Tennessee switching from quarterback to even be here nearly getting a thousand yards last year. Very impressive. I’m not taking that away from him. But I’m not signing players long term that aren’t the core. It was never about 2025 for me at least when I look at this team. It was about 2026 and beyond. in 2026 and beyond. I don’t want a fif to 17 million contract for if Ricky Pierce all ends up being really good a number three wide receiver. I don’t think it’s worth it. I don’t think it’s worth it. So, I personally think if it comes to that, they should trade him and take it on the chin for the first couple weeks if that’s what they have to do versus, okay, well, we’ll have Jawan Jennings for the first three weeks when we really need him, but now we’ve got him for three or four years, too. I don’t think that that’s a great way to do business. Now, I also think that they really could just force him to play. I I don’t know that he has a leg to stand on. Jawan Jennings isn’t that caliber of player to hold out either. I mean, if if he’s not the caliber of player that can sit out training camp and get his demands taken care of, then he’s not the type of player that can miss the regular season. So, I think he would play push come to shove. However, the 49ers have a reputation of being great to their players around the league, and I think that they prefer to uphold that. I don’t think that if a player requests a trade and is that disgruntled, they’ll keep him around. I think they would do right by Jawan because that’s what they’ve done every step of the way with Lynch and Shanahan in place. So, I don’t think that that would change. Also, this is a team with a lot of young players, 38% turnover. Do you want a player who is disgruntled? Not that he would be a cancer or a real problem, but everybody would know he’s not happy. Everybody would know he’s not getting paid. Is that the tone that you want to set for a team that has that much turnover and that much incoming young talent? I don’t think so. So, if he truly does request a trade, and it sounds like he has not done so, he expressed that he doesn’t want to play on the final year of his deal and he wants a new deal and that if he doesn’t have it by training camp, which is about a week away, that he’s going to request a trade. So, we’ll see how it plays out. But me personally, ultimately, I wouldn’t extend Jawan Jennings unless you can get him for around $10 million a year. That’s what I would say. So, all right, let’s uh see what y’all are talking about. Yep. Not a number one wide receiver. Yeah. Here’s the thing. It’s not greed. Like, the the way that I look at it is that it’s all right. You can disagree with some some players when this is said or or if I were to say this about him, it’s like, well, you got to strike while the iron’s hot and you got to do what you got to do. But Jawan Jennings specifically hasn’t made the type of money that players make in the NFL that that are highlevel players or even like sevens or sixes. He hasn’t made that kind of money yet. And he’s 28 years old. He legitimately will get one contract. Not a major contract, but to him it’ll be major. One contract. So imagine he plays on this deal this year and has an injury. That’s it. His his window of making money in the NFL would be gone because there’s nothing guaranteed past this year. So I don’t think it’s greed. I don’t think it’s greed at all. I think it’s the right thing to do. Thank you guys. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. I really apprec appreciate all of you. Um I don’t know. I don’t I didn’t know that. Hey, kudos to you, man. You’re smarter than me. You’re smarter than me. So, I didn’t know he would do that. Dangerous Dave, what’s up, Dave? He says, “My guy, love you. You see the newest Jeep, it’s bad A.” Uh, no, brother. I I haven’t. Go back and watch the beginning of the show. You’ll understand. Uh, I really haven’t. Yesterday was the first time I started to responding to people’s texts uh in about a 5day time span since Wednesday. Um, yesterday was the first time I started responding to people’s texts. Today is the first day that I even picked up a phone call that wasn’t directly a family member. Uh and it was it was coach uh my guy coach, you know, coach and I are have become really good friends, but I didn’t even tell him what’s going on. You know, none of my literally none of my friends know what’s going on. Just my family. That’s it. So, you know, I’ll always rock with you, Jesse. I appreciate you, Dave. I appreciate you. Thank you. Thank you so much. All right, let’s talk about this ESPN top 10 quarterback list because I hate to say I told you so, but I told you so. Right here on this very show, I said at some point the executive lists will start coming out this off seasonason. And when they do, Brock Party will not be a top 10 quarterback. Brock Pury will not be better than guys like or higher ranked I should say not better higher ranked than guys like Baker Mayfield or Justin Herbert. It’s just not going to happen. ESPN has been doing their week-long polls releasing them. And what they do is they take 70 plus executives, coaches, and scouts across the NFL and they have them rank players at each position. And today, the quarterback position dropped and Brock Perie is not top 10. He’s not even honorable mention. Now, I will say I slightly disagree with them here. You guys have seen my top 10 list. In case you don’t know what it is, I will refresh you. I dropped it about a month ago this time and I will go through that. But my list and their list are very similar. Very similar. Now, there’s a couple players that switch spots or whatever, but nine of the 10 players that they have on their top 10, I have on my top 10. And the one player, Jared Goff, who is in their top 10 that is not in my top 10, I had at 11. And the one player that was not in their top 10 that I had, CJ Strad, they had at 11. So, or honorable mention. They had two quarterbacks at honorable mention. I think they listed CJ Strad first. I don’t know if that necessarily means he was higher ranked, but basically I see eye to eye with the NFL on this and I thought that I would. I really did. Um I’m not surprised by this at all. I don’t know if you guys watch uh MMA, but uh when Nate Diaz called out Conor McGregor and then beat him and he was like, “I’m not surprised, mother effers.” That’s how I feel right now with this list. I am not surprised. So, let’s go through it real quick. See what your guys’ thoughts are. But the NFL, they think differently than fans do. They just do. All right. Here it is. Uh their list. So, I’m going to I’m going to list who they have one through 10 one at a time and also who I had in that same exact spot. And we’ll see how close I was. They have Patrick Mahomes number one. I also have Patrick Mahomes number one because I’m the smartest guy in the world. Also, everybody has Patrick Mahomes number one. So, there’s that, too. All right. They have Josh Allen number two. I have Josh Allen number two. I don’t think that there’s a shock here thus far. They have Joe Burrow number three. I have Lamar Jackson number three. This one’s interesting. You know, I guess it comes down to a lot of preference. Here’s the thing is winning doesn’t necessarily mean that you’re a great quarterback and losing doesn’t mean you’re a bad quarterback. Joe Burrow hasn’t been in the playoffs for the last two years, but Joe Burrow, if they had won 10 games last year, would have been in the MVP race. It would have been close like him, Lamar and Allen. It who knows who knows where it would have gone. So Joe Burrow’s playing fantastic. To me though, the reason I have them switched, a big part of it is durability. Joe Burrow’s been banged up. Lamar’s had his things too, but Burrow a little bit more so. And Burrow has these lapses in the regular season that Lamar Jackson doesn’t have, which is a big contributor to why they may not have made the playoffs the last couple years. Week one last year against the Patriots was a great example of that. It’s like, whoa, how do you play this bad against a poor team? Like, where did that come from? So, whatever. I mean, it’s splitting hairs. We most people that that have a sane mind have the same top four quarterbacks. If your order is slightly different, I I’m not really going to argue it. Mine’s just slightly different. They had Burrow at three. I had Lamar. I had Lamar at at or they had Lamar at four. I had Burrow at four. All right. Here’s where it gets a little interesting. They have Jaden Daniels all the way at number five. I like it. It’s gutsy. And Jaden Daniels certainly deserves to be in the top 10 after the way that he performed. Number five, though, is a little bit rich for my blood because you guys know my rule. I need more than one year. I prefer a three-year window before I can say what you fully are. And if it’s close, I’m not going to give the benefit of the doubt to the guy that only has one year in the league. Now again, it wasn’t close as far as him being a top 10 quarterback. To me, not close at all. He’s absolutely deserves to be listed as a top 10 quarterback. Now, again, this list is done every year. I’ve said that basically outside of the elite guys, and right now, in my opinion, there’s only four of them. It can change and fluctuate pretty drastically year to year, even week to week sometimes. So, Jaden Daniels at number five, I respect it. I disagree with it, but he is certainly in the top 10 right now for this upcoming year. I had Matthew Stafford at number five. They had Matthew Stafford at number six, though, so we’re not far off. At number six, I had Justin Herbert. They have Herbert at seven. So, again, not far off. Herbert, I know, is a big discussion amongst 49ers fans. I don’t understand it. I really don’t. Uh Justin Herbert, phenomenal player. He’s done pretty much anything that you can do with the team that has surrounded him and the coaching that has surrounded him up until this point in his career. He had one awful playoff game where he threw four picks. Two of them I think were on him. Two of them weren’t. But such is life. Most people don’t that are fans of one team don’t watch other teams a ton. And so when you see one game in prime time, that is the snapshot. That’s what people think you are. However, the league does watch more than one game. They watch most of the games, all of the games in fact, and they do it repeatedly because that is their job. And they agree with me that Justin Herbert is a top seven quarterback. They’ve got him at seven. I’ve got him at six. All right. At seven though, where they have Herbert, that’s where I have Jaylen Herz. I just think, listen, Jaylen Herz is one of a few quarterbacks that has elevated from the regular season to the playoffs and then done so again once he gets to the Super Bowl. He’s played so good, so good in those games. And you could say, “Oh, he’s surrounded by this team and this and that.” It doesn’t matter. He performs in those moments no matter what. No matter what, he has performed at a high level. Now, it’s to me it’s the Brock Party thing, right? If you believe that Brock Party is as great as some people do, you can’t then knock Jaylen Herz for doing what Brock Perie’s doing. Plus like so J so Brock Pury deserves all the credit for going to two NFC Championship games in a Super Bowl and not winning one, not playing at near the level that Jayen Herz has in the playoffs when he was surrounded by greatness like Jaylen Herz. But Jaylen Herz doesn’t get any credit for doing more than what he’s done statistically and winning a Super Bowl. That That’s crazy. Like, you just can’t deny that he deserves to be in the top 10 right now. You can’t. And I have him at number seven. This is This one was really interesting to me because not only do I not have Jared Goff in my top 10, I do have him at number 11. They had him all the way at number eight, which was pretty interesting. A little bit rich for me. I I think the two guys that they have listed behind him certainly are are better than him. In fact, that’s why they were on my list and Jared Goff wasn’t. But also, much like Justin Herbert, people remember the playoff game, which was awful, and that’s the snapshot they have of Jared Goff. But Jared Goff has performed pretty well on two teams, multiple coaching staffs, made it to a Super Bowl on one team, went to another team, went to an NFC championship, and has put up some pretty good numbers consistently. So, if you want to put Jared Goff in the top 10, I again, I have him at 11. It’s not like I’m I’m going to fight with you over it because he was close for me. I went back and forth on on who I had at number 10. I had Goff in there and then I didn’t and then I did and then ultimately I just left him off and went with my guy at number 10. But they have him at number eight which again little bit little bit higher than what I think he deserves to be. But this is their list and this is uh I I don’t pretend to be smarter than executives and scouts. I don’t. All right, number nine, they have Jaylen Herz. Oh, you guys hear that? You guys hear that thunder? I don’t know if you if that picked up on the mic. That was crazy. It’s storming big time outside, so you might hear a lot of loud thunder in the background coming up. Um, either way, number nine, they have Jaylen Herz. I have Baker Mayfield. Baker Mayfield has been really good the last two years. Baker Mayfield is a guy that I didn’t think would be that great in the NFL. I had Josh Allen number one in that draft. I had Lamar Jackson number two. And Baker Mayfield, I thought had a chance to be out of the league in five years. Now, I think that was actually very close. If he had not been traded to the Rams in the middle of the season, worked under McVey, and then played well when they called on him, that was trending to be a real possibility. But I have to give him major credit. Not only has he played really well, but his whole demeanor and how he approaches the game on and off the field, he’s done a 180, a complete 180. and he deserves credit for that. His thought process, how serious he takes the game. He’s slimmed down. He doesn’t have the arrogance about him. He’s gotten married. He’s had a kid. Like, he’s really matured as an individual. And thus, he’s matured as a player, a quarterback, and everything that you like about Brock Perie, and you should love it about Brock Perie, you should also love about Baker Mayfield. He’s a leader. He’s a good guy. He is a gamer. He will take a hit if he has to probably more than he should. And we saw that firsthand. One play should tell you all you need to know about the type of competitor Baker Mayfield is when he was chased down by Bosa and held him off the way that he did and completed the pass on fourth down. That’s all you need to know about the competitive nature of Baker Mayfield. I’m not saying one throw makes him a good player. What he’s put on film over the last two years makes him a good player. But as a competitor, that’s all you need to know. So all the things that you like about Brock, you should like about Baker. And just statistically, he’s played really well the last two years. He’s gotten the Bucks to the playoffs the last two years. He won a playoff game two years ago. And there’s not really anything you can say other than he deserves to be here. They think so and I think so. I’ve got them at nine. They have them at 10. So, as you can see, nine of the 10 players that we have in the top 10 are the exact same players. There’s a difference between where we have them ranked and most of them were off by one spot. Now, the player I have at number 10 was CJ Strad. They don’t have CJ Stout on their list. Obviously, they have Jared Goff. However, they have two players that they have as honorable mention. That was CJ Strad and Jordan Love. So, the fact that I have CJ Strad at 10 and they have him as the one of the two honorable mentions means that he was close to making the list. So, I feel pretty good about that. I didn’t do an honorable mention. I ranked all 32 quarterbacks. But if I’m going by their rules and I’m taking my next two players as honorable mention, my next player was Jared Goff, who was missed off my list. So again, we’re very, very close here. And my player after that was not Jordan Love. It was actually Brock Pury. He would have been on my honorable mention. And then after Brock Pury, I had Jordan Love. So really, if you look at just the players I have in my top 12, essentially, they have 11 of the same top 12 players. So, I made my list a month ago. It’s right here for everybody to see. I feel pretty good that it was very, very on par with what the NFL thinks. And I think I I want to say there’s another publication or two that does something similar. I don’t know if they do coaches, scouts, and executives, but they do pull people across the league. So, if that holds true, I would expect at least one more of these lists, and we’ll we’ll go over it then when they give it, but I expect it to be pretty similar. I expect that guys who are for some reason hated by the fan base and Justin Herbert will absolutely be on that top 10 list. I have no doubt in my mind and I would expect that Brock Party is not on that list. So, but again, outside of the elite players, last year Brock Party was on my list and and I don’t know if last year I can’t remember if he was on the ESPN list or not. If not, I he was probably at least an honorable mention. I gotta imagine he was on the list at at 10 as well, maybe nine. But I had him in my top 10. I had him in my top 10. It’s a year-by-year list. It is. So Brock Pury could easily easily get into the top 10 this year. I’ve got him just outside at 12. So it’s not like it would take a big big jump for him to get into that top 10. He certainly can make it. So, we’ll see how this season goes. But right now, this is correct. He doesn’t deserve to be in the top 10. Not coming off the year that he just had. It just simply isn’t there. It’s not there on film. And you can’t say, “Well, he wins because he didn’t win.” So, that’s where it’s at. All right. I’ve got one more thing that I want to cover here before I get out of here. And I want to talk about the five most important players to the 49ers this season. This isn’t the best players, although when you look at the best players on this team, there will be multiple of them that will be on this list. But I’ve got an order to it and a and a reasoning as to why these are the most important players to the team. I will say the first player I’m going to name is not on, let me think. I think I had See, I’ve got KD Fred. Yeah, I don’t I don’t have this first player on my list. If I was doing a top five 49ers list, just as far as talent and and not stack ranking them based off of position, but just, hey, across the league, where do you rank at your position? Are you better than the next guy? Brock Py would not be a top five 49er. uh as far as is the best players on the team. He just he he’s not I think I’d have him probably sixth though, but he is number one on my list when it comes to the most important players to this season. Brock Pury, if he doesn’t play well, this team doesn’t have a shot. This is not the 49ers from two years ago where they’re so sacked that they can just plug and play 25 quarterbacks in the NFL and they wouldn’t do as good as Brock Pury. Like I’m not trying to say that 25 quarterbacks two years ago would have done what Brock Pury did. That’s I’m not saying that at all because it’s not true. But they could have played 25 at least quarterbacks in the NFL two years ago and been a playoff team. They wouldn’t have made the Super Bowl, that’s for sure. But they would have been a playoff team. They would have been. So that is not this year though. Brock Perie absolutely is the most important player this year because as the quarterback, it’s the most important position. And if he doesn’t play as well as he did two years ago or even better, this team is not making the playoffs. If he plays like he did last year, they’ve got no shot. This team is not talented enough to overcome that. He is much better than M. Jones. M. Jones is not going to save this team if he has to play half the season. So if Pertie gets hurt or Brock Perty doesn’t look good, it’s going to be a rough season. Brock Pur is the most important player when it comes to this season in my opinion. Number two, I’ve got Christian McCaffrey. In order for Brock Pury to be at his best, he’s going to need Christian McCaffrey. Especially if the way that we started the show and talking about the wide receiver position, it may be really depleted and CMC is going to need a 100 targets this year potentially if if that’s as bad as it’s going to get. Christian McCaffrey is going to have to play not at the offensive player of the year level, not at all. But he has to be 85% of that and he has to be effective in the pass game. And that’s one thing I will say about CMC. Last year as a runner, he was not the same at all. However, as a receiver, in the short sent that he was here, he absolutely was still pretty dang good and effective. And we there is you cannot doubt how much better Brock Party is with CMC in the lineup versus when he’s not in the lineup. It’s just undebatable. The numbers are all there, but if you need further proof, all you have to do is look at the first game back that he returned. Compare that game for Brock Party versus the rest of the season and how it went. That was either Brock Party’s first best game, which I think it was, or his second best game of the season, and it wasn’t close. If it was second, it is it’s closer to first than it is the 12th best game of the season. Like I it was that close. Uh much closer to first than it was third, fourth, any of it. It was his best or his second best game. And again, I think it was his best. And why was it his best? because it it has nothing to do with Christian McCaffrey and how he looked because we all know that he didn’t look great especially as a runner although he did catch you know some good passes it’s because the Bucks first team to face him didn’t know what to expect and you have to account for Christian McAffrey now once the league started to figure out like oh this isn’t Christian McAffrey it’s Christian McAffrey by name but this is not Christian McAffrey by what we’re expecting from Christian McAffrey then they knew that they didn’t have to like watch him at that level, but week one that he plays, you have no idea what to expect. And so, you’ve got to watch him like a hawk and they did. And because of that, Brock Party was able to go to work. So, statistics back it up in a major way. Also, the success of this team backs it up in a major way. And if you need further proof, you can look at what Jimmy Garopppolo looked like with CMC versus the rest of the time he was a 49er. And you can look at that singular game where it was the first game back for CMC. And it is clear CMC is very important to this team and their success. CMC has to be close to himself. He can’t be a shell of himself. Otherwise, this team very well may struggle. Number three on this list is Trent Williams. This shouldn’t be a surprise. We know exactly what this offensive line looks like with Trent Williams, and most people wish they had made it better this off season, not arguably worse. So, without Trent Williams, you know, it’s going to be a disaster. Trent Williams is slightly declining, but he’s still one of the best tackles in the NFL, bar none. top five tackle, period. Top three left tackle. He’s a phenomenal player. He’s going to miss games, though. If he doesn’t, it’ll be the first time in about 12 seasons that he hasn’t. So, expect that he will miss games. But missing two games versus eight or nine or, you know, whatever is very different. And if he misses games like he did last year, again, this team will struggle. And I don’t know that they have a swing tackle that can even be serviceable. Now, I think Berford is better off as a tackle. Maybe he’ll be the swing tackle. I’ve thought that since his rookie year, but that doesn’t mean he’s going to be good by any means. Or whoever is the swing tackle. So, it’s going to be a drastic drop off no matter what if Trent Williams isn’t on the field. So, for those couple games not on the field, it’s going to be tough sledding. Hopefully, they’ve got some easier opponents in those weeks, but if he’s not on the field for an extended period, they’re in serious trouble. So, number three, Trent Williams most important player list. Number four, Bosa. Bosa. We know how great Bosa is when he’s at the top of his game, but we also know that three of the four starting defensive linemen might be rookies this year. And at the very least, three of the four defensive linemen, not three of the four, but just three guys that they expect to play heavy in the rotation this year are rookies. That means that Bosa is extremely important. Bosa has to be a really, really good player. And that doesn’t mean necessarily just getting sacks. He may not get a ton because of that. He’s certainly going to be double teamed on a regular basis as he should until somebody else can prove anything as to why he shouldn’t be. there’s a good chance that the players around him as rookies are not good enough to take any heat off of him and ever stop him from being double team the whole season. Doesn’t mean that they aren’t going to be good players if that happens. It just means that they are rookies and they’ve got to earn it. They have to earn it. Now, maybe they will. Maybe they will earn it early enough, but maybe they won’t. And Bosa has to be a big big part of this defense. if they are going to flourish. So, Bosa number four on my list. And not only that, he also has to be a leader. He has to be a captain’s captain. He has to teach these young players what’s up. He has to be an extension of Nick Koserk. They have to be in communication. So, uh I said Nick Koser, Chris Koser, Nick Bosa. so that Chris Koseric can tell him what he needs, where he can help. That leadership is going to be needed. Last number five on my most important important 49ers list is not Fred Warner. Fred Warner is certainly in the top five from a talent level, and this is why I said the lists are different, but it’s Damodor Lenor. Demodor Lenor is a part of a secondary where he is the only proven player in it right now. Now, Renardo Green looks promising, but we don’t know for sure. It’s not even a full season of work that we’ve seen from him to decide that he looks good. So, what is he really? He’s surrounded by a bunch of unknowns, either rookies or castoffs, guys that have been drafted by the 49ers that haven’t gotten onto the field. And then you add in that the safety unit behind him doesn’t necessarily even boast a true starting safety right now in the NFL. It’s potential until Malak Mustafa is back. And again, Malak Mustafa, much like Ronaldo Green, has only proven it for not even a full season. So, there’s a lot on Domodor Lenor this year. And Damodor Lenor has talked a lot of ish. And if you don’t think players across the league have marked that down, then you got another thing coming. Demo knows that he’s on a hit list and he likes it that way. But he’s also put the mark on the whole secondary. He has to stay healthy. He has to be consistent against the top guys. And I’m curious to see how it goes. I think he can do it, but we haven’t seen it necessarily yet. We’ve seen it from the slot. We haven’t seen him guard number one wide receivers on a consistent basis by any means. and he’s going to have to prove that this year. This is the first season where he goes into the season as the number one corner on the team. Previously, that went to Tervarious Ward. So, for those reasons, that’s my top five most important 49ers. It’s Brock Pery number one, Christian McAffrey number two, Trent Williams number three, Nick Bosa number four, and Demodor Lenor number five. All right, y’all. I appreciate you tapping in. Appreciate all the love, all the support. Uh I will be back when I can. I’ll be back when I can. Um we’ll see how this thing goes. It’s it’s a daybyday, hourby- hour type situation. Um and really just how everything’s going. So, uh if I can, I’ll be back sooner than later. If not, family takes priority. Um, I’ve got to say I appreciate y’all. I hope you stay blessed and make sure that uh if nothing else, you know, if you were here in the beginning of the stream, you’ll understand what where I’m coming from on this. But at the very least, um I hope that all of you take this opportunity to be present and tell the people that you love that you do love them and that they know that. Um because things can change in an instant. And I’ve been a part of that uh twice now. Uh one being a death of my father, this one not a death, but um some serious stuff going on. So, don’t uh don’t hesitate don’t hesitate to reach out and just love on people. So, appreciate y’all. Stay blessed. We’ll talk soon. Peace.

Praying ππ½ for you brotha
This fanbase gets too attached to these players and then wonder why new faces arent emerging to the spotlight. Jennings has priced himself out and that's ok. Let him get his money elsewhere.
Prayers up π
We Got U Jessie It's already Done Brother
Bro, been watching…..I slimmed down and look good. Since 2019. 5 subs.
He can walk I don't give a shit . #4 WRs are a dime a dozen. Go get Amari Cooper. He's better than Jennings.
I'm sick of the 9ers placating these babies who think because they have one good year they're superstars.
9ers are no longer viewed as a top tier torganization that every player in the league would have given their right arm to play for. No longer. What happened? Is everybody in the league coin driven now?
I do not watch nfl stuff on summer. What's up bro! Honest simple Q
Google it csuse im the worst at social stuff….
π always been so nice even when we wouldn't be So great to you
Why did he wait until a week prior to training camp to bring this up? He watched Trent, Deebo, BA, & CMC do the exact same thing and hold the organization over the barrel.
This has to end. The next CBA needs to include provisions for when a new deal can be requested. I like JJ and think he played well last season. He needs to either honor the deal he signed or he can have a seat and watch his value plummet. The 49ers aren't winning the SB this season, so they may as well let those young guys get reps and demonstrate what they can do.
Praying for you Jesse ππ½ππ½
Praying for you brother! Trust GOD In All Things!
Hey Jesse. Sorry to hear youβre going through something man. Thoughts and prayers to you and your family at this time. May the Lord watch over you and your loved ones with whatever is going on. Youβre the best. I know the Niners donβt have a great team this year, but I have faith and I have hope and I think we have a real chance of making that Super Bowl and bringing home number six. But in all seriousness, may the Lord bless you and guard to you and your family and only sending great vibes your way. β€
Just said a prayer for you and your family! Peace and love, Jessie!
Jennings thinks heβs got the Niners over a barrel. I would really consider trading him for another wr.

Purdy needs to prove them wrong
Ya might say the redskins QB
deserves to be a top ten
My question is was purdy a top 10 2022 and 2023 when he doubled what the SKINS qb did?
Jess should be in the nfl media unlike people like say Nick Wright
He's non biast

Hope everything is OK Jesse. πππ praying for you and your family. Fasting gets easier as your stomach shrinks. Take care of yourself and more prayers for you. πππ
My thing is that they should make these players play out their whole contracts b4 they start talking about another contract. They still have like 1 yr left on their contract play it out and prove that they even deserve another contract
Prayers Jessie!
Trade him.
I paused the vid at at 3:52 to say, thank you Jess for sharing and I pray that the Holy Spirit comforts you and your family through these tough times.
Watching you and Grant talk football, helped me and my precious little loved one get thru their cancer diagnosis. We would watch your guy's takes after every game from the hospital and it helped us get back to feeling normal.
May God bless you and your family. ππ
