BENGALS FAN REACTS TO BLEACHER REPORT PROJECTING HOW MUCH TREY HENDRICKSON CONTRACT WILL COST!!

Bleacher Report. Oh, baby. Bleacher Report. So, Bleacher Report comes out today and says, “Hey, we have a projected contract that Trey Hendrickson could sign and the whole situation could be done with three years, 103.5 million.” And if you’re wondering, that’s how much it is per year, right? No, wait, wait, right there. Right. Right there. 34.5 per year for three years, which to be honest, I think if we’re all understanding this correctly, yeah, I think Trey would accept that within a heartbeat as he does want right around that price tag per year. Problem is, I don’t know if he’d want a four-year contract, if he’d be okay with a three-year contract. I know the Bengals are trying to finesse a one to twoyear deal. They want a very short-term deal contract while Trey wants more job security of a long haul. I don’t know if he’d be okay with three. He might be okay with three. He might after two years of that contract come back and say, “Hey, I want, you know, I don’t like this contract anymore. I want a new one.” So, again, you know, I have to say that because it’s happened before. We gave Trey a two-year deal. after a year. Actually, no. I mean, after a year, excuse me, after six months, he didn’t want that deal no more. So, who knows? Maybe he’ll accept a three-year deal and play the whole three years or he’ll accept three-year deal and then after a year say he doesn’t want it anymore. I don’t know. Uh, with that being said, I do love Trey obviously, but I do have to point that out. Um, yeah, listen, I again, I’m going to say over and over again, you got to pay the guy. you got to get the situation done with. Um, I don’t know if the Bengals would ever be willing to go as close to 34.5 million as Bleacher Report seems to think they would. Based on what we understand, they offered him 29 million and they’re not really budging on that number. Uh, they’re also not budging on the idea of giving him more than a two-year contract. So, they want to do a short-term deal, less risk that way. if he gets hurt or he just, you know, doesn’t live up to expectations, which obviously he should, but you know, hey, Bengals are trying to hedge their bets, say, hey, you know what? We can revisit this in a year from now or two years from now, and if you’re not 100% what we want, maybe we’ll move on from you. So, that’s kind of how they’re trying to go about business. Again, from a player perspective, that fluffs over the player. players not going to be happy with that. Me personally, again, I say give him a four-year deal. I want him on his team for the next four years. That puts him right around 35, 36 years old. At that point, I think he would retire. I’m not saying he has to, but he most likely would. Um, and that’s what I would put him at. Pay him four-year contract, get him on the team. Even a five-year deal, I wouldn’t mind. Um, just get this over with and stop dealing with this. This is just unnecessary drama, unnecessary crap that really just doesn’t need to be a thing right now. So, we’ll see though. We’ll see. Bleacher Report does say if the Bengals have a legitimate aspirations of a deep playoff run, they need to figure out a way to get a deal done with Hendrickson. But with each week passing, that appears less likely. The reason why that appears less likely is because eventually Micah Parson’s going to get paid and TJ Watt. And once those guys get paid, I promise you one thing. Let me pull this up real fast. That number right there, that number, that number right there means nothing. The second Watt gets 40 million, he’s probably gonna get like 42 maybe around 42 million. That number means nothing once Micah Parsons because what’s going to happen is Micah will probably end up getting paid first. He’ll probably get paid around 41 and then it will probably be Watt at 42.5 or maybe vice versa. Whoever gets paid first, the second guy is going to get more money than the first guy. That’s just how it works when it comes to top player at East position. We saw the same thing with Jamar Chase. So the second, you know, Micah gets paid, Watt’s getting a little bit more. Well, when that happens, Trey’s camp is going to say, “We want as much as those guys.” And we know that because he did it with Max, Mad Max Crosby. When Crosby got signed, he was willing to accept a deal with us. Then Crosby gets signed and he goes, “Never mind. I’m not paying. I don’t want that much. I want way more than that. I don’t want to agree to that contract because Crosby just got signed so it’s no longer on the table. That’s the case. Once those guys get signed, GG. Now, we’re not expected to get a deal done by training camp, which right now would be five days from now for rookies and it would be what is that? 6 plus three nine days for veterans. We’ll see. We’ll see how this all shakes out. Again, like I said, I I have made my opinion very known on Bleacher Report. I don’t always agree with them. I don’t think the Bengals will go anywhere near 34.5 million. I think this whole thing gets figured out at 31.5. 31.5, give me a four-year contract and we walk away pretty. That’s where I think we settle at. That’s where I think this whole thing gets s figured out at four years, 31.5 per year. Yeah, that’s kind that’s kind of what I feel. It’s the same thing with the T. Higgins situation. You go back on my old videos, I said the same thing with T. Everyone was saying, “Oh, he’s going to get 30 million. He’s going to get 30 million.” I’m like, “Dude, there’s no way he gets over 28. He got like 27, but there was no way he was going to get 30. There’s no way the Bengals would pay him 30 million per year.” But everyone’s like, “Oh, no. They’re going to pay him 30 more million per year.” No, they’re not. They’re going to pay him probably at most close to 27 28. They paid him 27. He did take a team friendly deal, obviously, but in the end, I don’t think they would have paid him that much anyway. They’re not going to pay Trey 34.5. Should they? Probably. Get it over with. You know, stop having this be a distraction. Move on with it. Get ready for the season. Get ready for everything to be set up. but instead they go off principle rather than logic at times. It’s the principle of we’re not going to pay you that much money. We’re not. It is what it is. Anyway, tell me down below your thoughts, opinions. I’ll see you guys in the next one. Peace out.
