Play style: Kyrie + D Rose?
Summer league aside, I want to see more facilitation out of him going forward. That should come as he practices with the actual team and develops consistency of where he expects teammates to be/their abilities/etc for passing lanes.
I think part of what has made Missi look rough at times on offense is the lack of facilitation by Fears, summer league just doesn’t feature players like Yves well who need a system to play through.
Otherwise I like the tenacity, he doesn’t back down which is welcomed on a team that needs a chip on its shoulder.
He was very good in transition and when he had space. Portland played extremely aggressively guarding him all over the court. This let him use his handle and quickness well.
Unfortunately to play in transition we need to get stops and we don’t have enough quality defenders. Also in the 1/2 court we need shooters to create space and we don’t have enough shooters on the team.
I can already tell by his style of play, and the fact that he’s in a Pelicans jersey, that we will be injured this season and only play 30 games.
