Big time angels fan here but I don’t have the most knowledge of angels salary or there money situation. I mean I know they spend money on players only for them to be garbage or have a few good games (rendon,Hamilton) here and there.

But I know theres talks of the Red Sox releasing or trading jarren durran. Could the angels possibly go after him? I know our player management is trash but it’s still a good question

  2. We don’t have the necessary assets to get him. They would no doubt ask for Neto and more, and that wouldn’t be worth it for us. Everyone else in the young core is low ceiling or has significant development problems

  3. In a figuratively, yes. In a reality, no. Who are we trading for him? What assets do we have that the Red Sox need? They are buying as of right now, so they wont take the little prospects we have.

  5. There is a 0% chance the Red Sox release him, he is a proven big league player with an 8 war season already under his belt and under contract for four more years, which is extremely valuable.

    But, if the Sox do trade him, we simply do not have the prospects to get him. A package of our best prospects, (Christian Moore, Caden Dana, Tyler Bremmer and a couple fliers) would not get it done.

    And even if the Red Sox would want to accept that package, it is not a good idea to mortgage the future because we are not in win-now mode and adding Duran would not put us in a champtionship window.

    He’d be an amazing add to the team, but it simply isn’t in the cards right now for the halos.

  6. We’d have to give up at least Neto/Detmers type players plus a couple others.. so I dont see it happening. I do like Duran, but most of his skill set is his speed, which doesn’t stick around forever.

  7. I feel like this sub is wildly over inflating his value. Great WAR last year, but looking to put up a third of that this year. A good player to be sure, but a haul some of you are talking about seems like way too much.

  9. We could get him but the he would either going into a multi-year slump or always be injured

  17. Red Sox are trying to win and if we’re willing to part with Detmers plus Dana or some combination of our best prospects, maybe

  18. Taylor Ward has a higher OPS this season than Duran. Why would we trade assets for less production in LF?
