BREAKING NEWS: Ravens Sign Mike Green!

Crisis averted because the Baltimore Ravens are going to be signing Mike Green today. Let’s read the report from rap sheet. He said the Ravens are expected to sign past rusher Mike Green to his four-year contract today. Sources say another second round of that gets done. Green was the 59th overall pick. And that video that we put out a little earlier today, which a lot of y’all didn’t even get notifications on. Real quick before we jump into things, put in the comment section if you got the notification for this video. Please let me know. I’m trying to see something. and I appreciate y’all. But anyway, in that video, we talked about how it was lining up for Mike Green to sign with the Baltimore Ravens very, very soon. We didn’t know it was going to be today, but what a crazy coincidence, right? Because the 49ers and their 43rd overall pick, he signed, it wasn’t a fully guaranteed contract, but it was a lot of guaranteed money. And then, uh, the Chicago Bears, their pick that got picked at 62 overall, he signed. So, we were like, okay, the Baltimore Ravens, they could have a plan for Mike Green to sign his contract. And apparently they did because they are getting it done. So this is nice. This is great for the Ravens. This is great for Mike Green because now there are no more setbacks. There’s nothing holding him back. Now he can officially be a part of the Baltimore Ravens. Now we ain’t got to wonder, oh man, how would they look if Mike Green was out there on the field? Oh man, how would it be if Mike Green was out there participating in training camp? Now we ain’t even got to worry about that because we’ll know. So, now that this Mike Green signing is officially official, what are the details of the deal? And what was the corresponding move that the Baltimore Ravens had to make in order to get Mike Green on the roster? Well, first and foremost, uh, they put Ararius Washington on the active physically unable to perform list. We know Audarius Washington, of course, uh, he tore his Achilles, uh, and it’s a long shot that he plays this season. Still a shot, but a very, very long one at that. But, uh, Brian McFaren, as far as the details of the deal, uh, he gave us some expected numbers. He said, “As expected, it didn’t take long. Once the log jam was broken, Mike Green will sign a 4-year deal worth 7.419 million with a signing bonus of two 2 mill 35,932. Uh, his 2025 cap number will be 1.3 mil.” So, those are the details of his deal, but it’s just so nice. Regardless of what the details are, regardless of the signing bonus, the guarantee money, Mike Green is officially a Baltimore Raven. He said, “Got these questions from coach.” So, let’s get straight to it cuz it’s lengthy. All right, here we go. He says, “So, number one, who wins the kicking job between Tyler Loop and John Hland.” I’m going to go with Loop, especially with the Baltimore Ravens having drafted him. I don’t see them drafting a kicker. And I know it was in the sixth round, but I don’t see them drafting a kicker and then be like, you know what, nah, you’re cut. We’re going to go with the undrafted guy. So, I think they’ll cuz I I think that gives him a little more leeway with the Baltimore Ravens since they did draft him. But, we’ll see. I’m never opposed to the best man winning the job, though. If Hland is better than Loop throughout training camp, throughout uh the preseason, go with Hland. But if Loop is better, go with him. Just give it to the best man. Uh number two, he said, “Will we be able to extend Lamar Jackson and others? We have Mandrews, Linder Bomb, likely away, Travis Jones, Kyle Vanoy, and Pat Ricard. Who do you see us retaining, especially with Super Duper Kins Flowers extensions coming up as well?” That’s a great question. Obviously, Lamar Jackson, they’re going to get that one done for sure. Mandrews, I’ll say no. Linda Bomb, yes, likely. Yes. always question mark. I I think they’ll let this season play out, see how things go, cuz that that’s a tricky one right there. Uh Travis Jones is another tricky one, too, cuz Travis Jones, that boy is nice, man. Um Kyle Vanoi, I don’t think they’ll sign him to an extension right now, cuz they got a lot more freedom with him. It’s not like he’s a young upand cominging player. He’s a veteran. Uh and so they and they’ve done it already. First, they signed him to a one-year deal, then they signed him to a two-year contract. So, they I I think they’re good with him. They got a little more leeway with Pat Ricard. Another tricky one right there. Um, but Pat record since fullbacks are not making a crazy amount of money, they could keep him around for another couple of years, work out a contract with him, too. But I think they could do that after the season. There’s no rush to resign a fullback. Um, he also said, uh, how will the collusion impact Lamar Jackson’s extension? It won’t because that part is already done. Um, he’ll just be the highest paid quarterback whenever that time does happen. It should be any day now. Um, but the collusion part, that’s already done and over with. that already impacted his first contract. Uh number four, he said, “What does the Lamar Jackson and top monkeying system look like in year three? Even more polished, even more polished, even more smoother. Uh just things running that much better cuz things were already running really good, but just another year of having the same communication. Another year that communication getting even better, another year of just knowing the system and just being in tune with it.” He also said, “Uh, do you see Mon utilizing all of his weapons?” Yeah. And continuing to create more as well. Something that he’s definitely done over the past couple of years. He said, “Does EDC stand pat?” No, I think EDC still adds more. Uh whether it be a safety, whether it be offensive line, I think offensive lineman could be the position for sure. Uh he said, “How does the old line shake out? Who is starting?” Uh Ronnie Stanley, Voorhees for now, unless they maybe add somebody, but probably Vohees, uh Tyler Lindab, um Daniel Fle, and Roger Rosener. Uh he also asks, “Hope you get LJ on the channel real soon.” Hey, that would be great. That would be fun. Uh he said, “My question for you is with the new contract that Garrett Wilson of four years 130 mil with 90 mil guaranteed, is this a preview or was they numbers could be around I wonder how the Baltimore Ravens are going to do with that was when it comes to Z Flowers because he would not be the first first round pick to sign a contract extension with the team that that’s out. Rashad Baitman got it. But Z Flowers, he he ain’t gonna settle for because Rashad Baitman with him with that the whole fifth year option, he couldn’t even do that. So Ravens were able to get him for way cheaper and he took a deal where it’s a very modest deal. Um but Z Flowers I don’t think ZFL is going to settle for that. I really don’t. Um so I don’t know what’s going to happen with that right now. It’s like woo cuz Ravens they ain’t been in this territory before. Last time they were in this territory. The closest thing was Tory Smith and they offered him I think it was a 5year $30 million deal but the 49ers offered him like a 5year $35 million deal. So, so they offered him a little bit more money. So, it was something like that. It was something that was kind of close but kind of far at the same time and he went with them. So, this is new territory for the Baltimore Ravens. So, let’s hope that Z Flowers puts them in a tough position to where they like, “Oh my goodness, we just we can’t keep we can’t move forward without Zay Flowers to where he’s that great and so he he continues doing what he’s been doing and just remains consistent.” Um, so hopefully he put them in that position to where they have to make that decision. Uh Javo also said, “With training camp approaching, what are your top five storylines and what will you be looking for?” Um just Baltimore Ravens mentality. Uh really, how’s that mentality going to be in the playoffs? I think that’s the biggest story line out of everything. Um year three and Ty Mon system, can this offense be even better than they were the previous years? Uh number three, uh how will that offensive line be? Uh obviously most of them are the projected starters are guys who have already been on the team. So you’re going to have that familiarity, which is great. you’ll have that rapport, which is amazing. Uh, number four, how is Katon Mitchell going to be used? Because that’s a really, really good question. Um, and then number five, health. Health. Can some of the key guys uh who have health concerns and knocks on their health, can they stay healthy? Like a Gier Alexander, like a Jaylen Arma Davis, can those guys stay healthy? Because obviously health is wealth, but their health can just make a drastic impact for the better for the team. Next question came from ZP. He said, “Hello, engraven. Hope you and the family are great.” Hey, we doing real good. I appreciate you. He said, “As we’ve been hearing lately, the Ravens seem to be planning extensions for Kyle Hamilton, Tyler Linda Bomb, and Isaiah likely.” That got me thinking. Do you think the Ravens are also considering in extending Marlon Humphrey? That’s a good one. And they drafted um Nate Wiggins. And Marlon Humphrey talked about it when before they even drafted Nate Wiggins. He said that he expected them to draft Nate Wiggins. And he also talked about how he knows that he ain’t going to play forever and he could end up getting replaced sooner or later. So I don’t know. I don’t know. I believe he has two years left on his deal uh this year and next year. Um so I I think the Ravens just keep it keep things as is for now. Um and then just see how stuff goes. But Maron, he’s getting a little older. His play ain’t falling off. So that’s a beautiful thing. Um, so again, just like Ze Flowers, hopefully Marlon can put them in a tough position to if he does get another contract extension, it’s not not going to be top-of-the-line money. Um, because he’ll be a little bit older because with contract extensions, it’s not just about what you’ve done, but what you’re projected to do as well. So, with Maron Humphrey, that’s Oh, that’s that’s real real tricky. So, I I think again, for now, they let it play out and then they address it as it gets a little closer to the end of his contract. He also said we know he doesn’t have any guaranteed money left on his current deal and at the same time he’s been one of the most loyal Ravens throughout his career. With that in mind, do you think a Marvin Humphrey Extension could be coming soon? So soon? No, I would say they they let it ride out. Next question came from my guy Mike. He said, “What’s up, David? Hope you and the family are doing great. Been rocking with you since the pandemic in the Madden League. I was with you and oh man, that’s you talk about throwback them Madden leagues. Oh man, that thing was so sloppy.” That’s that’s why I’m going to be jumping into stuff like that no more, man. cuz I just I can’t handle it. It’s just too much going on with this to try to handle a M. Oh man, it’s crazy. Anyway, appreciate you. He said, uh, my question is, uh, what is the bigger need between offensive line and defensive line? I feel like we need a veteran guard or and our offense will be set. Uh, I’m still hoping for Clowny, but I think, uh, if we able to sign Mike Green, good timing with that, uh, our defensive line will be good to go. What’s your opinion? Um, I would say the bigger need, oo, uh, probably offensive line right now, but still defensive line is a need too cuz they just lack depth over there. That’s the biggest thing. They lack depth. Uh, but offensive line, um, yeah, I would say offensive line because a possible suspension with Ben Cleveland, Emory Jones, uh, they he’s not on the roster right now due to his injury. Um, so there’s not there there’s there’s question marks for depth right there. So Andrew Vohees, you got to think like, hey, last year he got hurt. Pat McCary took over. Who would take over now if he were to get hurt? You obviously don’t want to think about that, but you got to think about that. Um, so are Ravens prepared if that situation were to happen? Uh, he Oh, but with Mike Green, that’s nice that that’s checked off now. Uh, I I still wouldn’t mind clowning though because that will give us less of a question mark and more of an answer and a short thing on the defensive line. Uh, he said, “As always, give up the great work. Um, team, keep it clean for life.” Appreciate you, Mike. Who’s taking a nap? Next question came from my guy Javon. He said, “Peace and love. I hope you are all having a wonderful day wherever you are, whatever you’re doing. I hope you’re smiling and enjoying your peace.” I love that. Enjoying your peace, cuz peace is important. He said, “I’m over here excited about this upcoming season. We have all the pieces to this chessboard to be great this year. I I want to just give my opinion on offense and defensive sleepers on our team this season. I’ll start with defense. I feel like we uh have the secondary to keep any QB second guessing. Even with us unsure who plays next to Roan, I’m very confident in the secondary. I feel if this player gets to the play time, he will show out. And that is none other than Anias Peebles. Oo, that that’s definitely a sleeper right there. I like it. He said, um I think he’s a D O. And with that secondary making the QB hold the ball, he will have six to eight sacks seconds or six to eight sacks season if given the opportunity. On offense, our biggest question is with the O line who in my opinion did an okay job protecting Lamar and opening gaps for Derrick Henry last year. Uh yet Lamar and Derek helped the offensive line with their god-given ability. Uh my sleeper on the offense is at wide receiver and his name is DeAndre Hopkins. I say Dehop because people saw a decline over the last two seasons with the Titans in Kansas City. With Dehop being our number three receiver, there’s a strong possibility he gets a lot of one-on-one opportunity, which would be stupid, but hey, it’s the NFL. Stupid things happen. I like that. I like that. That’s a good point. That’s a good point because it’s like with our offense, especially passing offense, who you going to double? Who you going to double? You going to double Rashad Baitman? You’re going to double Z Flowers? You’re going to double DeAndre Hopkins? You going to double Mark Andrews? You going to double Isaiah Likely? You can’t double everybody. Then you you still got coming out the back field, you got Lamar. He could take off any given second. You got Derrick Kenner. You got Justice Hill, you got Keith Mitchell, you got so many options, man. Like, this is such a beautiful thing cuz y’all know again, our offense had been We done gone through it for years on offense, wishing for offensive, dreaming for offenses like these, and we finally got it. Anyway, he said, “If DeHop goes healthy this season, I believe he we he could have eight to 10 touchdowns with over 600 yards. Who are your sleepers? I know he struggled at times and whatnot, but a lot of people forget last year was his first year playing guard. So, with another year of consistency, another year of training camp, being at guard, and this time he’s at guard officially in training camp. Last year he was toying around with different positions, but this year he’s a guard. So, I would say him on offense, on defense, um a sleeper. Do we even have any sleepers on defense? I can’t say Travis Jones. People know who Travis Jones is, but I guess I I will say Travis Jones because um people know who he is, but now they I think they’ll definitely know who he is with him getting even more uh opportunity.
