San Diego Padres: 2025 First Half Highlights (Ft. Tatis, Manny Machado, Arraez, Merrill & MORE!)

Michael King indeed on the mound for the Padres’s. Last time out of no decision against the Atlanta Braves and last season’s numbers were outstanding. 13-9 the ERA. Anytime you pitch 173 plus innings and RA under three, you’re doing something right. Good stuff. Swinging a miss. And there’s strikeout number one from Michael King. Look at the depth. And anytime you get a guy out in front like that, making a really good pitch. Heat pitch coming. And strike three gets him looking. The high strike three call. And he swings and misses. A fast ball. Strike three. Three straight KS for Michael King. One out in the second. Swing and a miss for the 25th year in a row. That’s four strikeouts in a row for Michael King. Two down. And this one comes on the two seamer. Watch the action out of the hand. It brings it back. Hey, offers at it. It’s up in the zone. Ties him up. Swinging a miss. He struck him out. You know what that means? Oh, here we go. Oh, down by way of the K. Waiting on the 3-2. The pitch from King taken. Anthony East right call. Six in a row for Michael King. That strike three gets him looking. High strike. Let’s watch the movement. Watch the location. Yeah, he got the call. Swinging a miss. And he struck him out. Backto back Ks. Eight and all for King. Swinging a miss. And King strikes him out. That’s nine Ks for Michael King. Elevates and gets him to chase. Strike out number 10 for Michael King. Sixth time in his career. Double digit strikeouts. That strike three gets him looking. 11th strike out for Michael King. Tonight is over for Michael King, but boy was he impressive tonight. Yes, he was. Five shut out innings, just the two hits. So, as he drives this one to right field, back goes looking up. That ball’s gone. Jackson Merlin, his new extension, has just left the yard. Two-run shot for the kid. Four nothing Padres. Signed the contract this morning. It’s a two-run homer this afternoon, his second in as his many games. And the Padre lead is just like that, four to nothing. 3-1 pitch. Fly ball headed to left field. Lockidge moves over and under and makes the catch. Padres’s win. In fact, they win all the games on the home stand. Seven games to begin the year at home. They win them all. Head drive deep left center field for Nando. The ball is back. That ball is gone. Home run number three of the year for Fernando. 7 nothing Padres. On the mound for the Padres’s. Third start of the year for Nick Pava. Man, Nick Pavetta, boy, when the last start here at home was lights out. One-two pitch de swinging a miss. He struck him out. Good start for Pavetto. Two two to McMahon. Got him. [Applause] Swinging a miss. He struck him out in the first inning and a strikeout victim in the third inning. That strike three. Good downward playing on the fast ball. Swinging a miss and he strikes out Goodman. [Applause] Strike three. Swinging a miss. And for the third time tonight, he gets ve 2-2. That strike three gets him looking. Strike out number nine for Pava. Promotion at checkout. That’s strike three. The K10. 10 strikeouts tonight for Nick Pavetta. Two down. 375 start to the year in the first 13 games for Fernando. Fernando hits it in the air towards deep center field. Back goes Moniac at the wall. It’s gone into the bullpen. Fernando Tatis Jr. Homer last night. He homers tonight. Fourth of the year. Puts the Padres’s on top one to nothing. Now that’s a wakeup call. 97. That ball leaks up middle. Fernando does the rest. Oh, what a lead off hitter. Gets on base, does damage. Khart has taken the hill here tonight for the Padres’s in the middle game. And the Padres’s trying to win their second straight against the Rockies. 02 pitch. Bousard swings and misses. Strike three. First of the night for Kyle Hart. And two down here in the second inning. Swinging a miss. Gets him to chase. There’s another sweeper and it’s strikeout number two for Kyle Hart. Two down, one and two to Bard. Hart delivers and hits the inside corner. Strike three called. Third of the night and one away here in the fifth inning. You don’t see that pitch from lefties very often. Three and two. Zia swings and misses. Strike three. Backto back hays to begin the fifth for Kyle Hart. One looking, the next one swinging. Kyle Hart has got it going here tonight. There’s Chris Bryant with runners at first and second and a fly ball to deep right field. Back goes Fernando. He’s got it. Ball game over. Running catch onto the warning track. Tatis Jr. reels it in. Padres’s win. The short stop for the Cubs on the ground left side. Peralta won’t get it. Machado will on the run gets him. Ball game over. Padres’s win 10 to four. Padres’s have won 11 straight at home to begin the season. He sends another one to deep center. Can Meyers get to this one? No, he can’t. Touch of all time again for Fernando Tatis. His eighth of the year and the Padres’s get a late clutch home run by the superstar Tatis. It’s exactly what he is. And this could be just the prelude of the year of third pick by Machado from his backside to second for the out. Can’t do it any better than that. Manny Machado from his hip pockets throwing people out. That short hop is not an easy play. And then to make it worse, as Donnie just mentioned, there’s the grab from his tukus to second base to get the force. That’s a big league play right there. He just got machado out in the dirt. And here comes Fernando. He will be safe. He got in. It didn’t get far away from Joey Bart, the catcher. And Fernando sneaks in the back door. They are challenging. Wow. Wow. After review, the follow on the field is confirmed. The runner stage gets their blue challenge. Wild pitch run scored. Padres’s take the lead. This is back up the middle into center field. A base hit for Merrill. Round from second base comes Fernando. Padres strike first. On top one to nothing. Jackson Merrill continues his torid pace. Just like last night, the Padres’s getting on the board in the first inning. The year for Jake returning last night from the IIL. This one will get away. Here comes Machado and he will score the second Padres’s run. So both the walks turn into runs in this first inning. Wow. And it is on the ground to second base picked by Amodore. He throws to first for the out, but a run will score and the Padres’s take a three nothing lead. RBI for Croninworth who grounds out. Oh, high drive deep right field for Sheets. It is back and it is gone. Second deck at Corors Field. Gavin Sheets connects on his fifth of the year. It’s a two-run shot and the Padres’s take a five nothing lead in the first inning. It was worth the wait, wasn’t it? Two fast ball outside corner. Gavin’s like, “No, no thank you. I’ll give you that strike. Just wait till the next one.” 3 0. He’s swinging through a ground ball base hit into right field. That’ll score a rise and the Padres’s take an eight nothing lead. So swinging three 0 and driving in another run. Jackson three hits. High fly ball to right field. Moniaak will have room as he makes a catch out there for route number two. But tagging at third base is Manny Machado. He will head in with the ninth Padres’s run. And it’s nine nothing San Diego. Sack fly for Cronorth in the air to left. Hit pretty well. Beck going back looking up and that ball is gone. Jason Hayward opposite field. Three-run home run for Hayward. And the Padres’s take a 12 nothing lead. Second home run in a Padres’s uniform for Hayward. One, two, on the ground. A fair ball down the right field line from second base comes Alias Dia as he will score. They’re going to try and get Fernando in as well. All the way from first base. No problem. Two more runs. It’s 14 to nothing San Diego. Now Manny Machado with a base hit to left field and that’ll bring in a rise. Padres’s take a 15 to nothing lead. Highf fly ball right center field. It is back towards the bullpen and it’s going to run up against the wall. Cronorth making his way around the bases. He will score the 21st run of the game for the Padres. Well, we know Fernando likes that first pitch. Likes to be aggressive. 2-2 in the air to deep left center field. It’s back. It is gone. Fernando walks it off deep into the San Diego Knight. Padres’s win it. Had one down the middle. Fouled it off. That one poorly located and Fernando located that one beyond the Padre bullpen. 2-2 in the air to left field for Machado. It’s deep. It’s far and it’s gone. Home run to left field for Machado. Starts the ninth with authority. Fourth home run of the year for Manny. Puts the Padres’s on top late. Oh, that is some kind of nice. There’s the slider. He wants it down and away. And it speeds up the bat of Manny. He gets it out in front and sends it to the Hank Aaron Terrace. That’s huge. In the air to deep left field for Manny Machado. Back goes at the wall. It’s gone. Manny Machado hits his 350th home run of his career. It’s a two-run shot and the Padres’s take a two nothing lead. Congratulations to Manny Machado. Oh, that’s the danger zone. That’s the Manny hot zone. And Manny crushed that one. Big mistake pitch right there. Dylan CEO on the mound making his 14th start of the year. And it’s the league leading staff leading I should say staffleing 14th start. 29year-old the seventh here at home. And a swing and a miss. That’s doing something. Dylan C strikes out Shoi Otani. That is strike three. Got him looking. Thank you. Second strike out for CE. Swinging a miss and that strikes him out to end the inning. Third strike out for Dylan Cease. He struck him out. He gets out of the mess. Fourth strike out for Case. The Dodgers leave him loaded. He walked three, but the Dodgers can’t score. Swing and a miss and he struck him out on a slider. Two two swung on a miss and my strikes out. Eight strikeouts for Dylan Seorto strikes out. He looks away. Nineks for Dylan Case. Got him. Strike out number 10 for Dylan Case. Swinging a miss. He struck him out. Make it 11ks for Cease. Left side off the glove of Pomo. Hit number 20,000 of his career for Manny Machado as he continues to build on his resume towards the hall. A swing as sweet as ever since his first hit back in 2012. A triple chocked up 2000 for number 13. What a beautiful thing. Congratulations to Manny Machado.
