We should be recording it on Wednesday. That’s the original idea. But I got a very special next video next week and a very special guest next week to kick off training camp with each and every one of y’all. I think you’re going to love what I got in store for you next week. And I’m still working on a couple other things, too. So, got a lot of content coming your way. So, please do me the favor. Smash the like button as you come through. Please, please, please, please hit that like button. All right, so hey, let’s not waste any time. Let’s go ahead. Let’s hop right into it. Let’s get into the details. So, here you go, ladies and gentlemen. uh as of just a few hours ago and from Mike Goff, the Dolphins have agreed to terms with Jonah Savvy. Sources tell Mike Goff and Ian Rapaore the 37 picks contract is 100% guaranteed over four years in a deal negotiated by Ryan Williams of Athletes First. So, we know the previous dealings between Chris Greer, the Miami Dolphins, and Athletes First. And it’s nice that they took care because almost every Athletes First athlete is out of here, you know, whether it be Christian Wilkins or whoever. They’re basically, you know, they always get their bag and they get it somewhere else. So, man, they took care of Jonah. They got him his bag and this is a step in the right direction. Um because now Jonah can go ahead, he can go get locked in. He can focus on training camp, which is most important. If you’ll remember a couple days ago, I said for him to be signed by camp, we needed to start seeing dominoes fall. And we started to see the dominoes fall. I mean, it’s really started yesterday, you know, it really started about what 48 hours ago. Alfred Collins, and then yesterday, Shamar Turner, Mike Green, RJ Harvey, Aussie Trapello also signed as well. Um, today it went a little further. You, you know, we’ll talk about some of the guys that happened after the fact with um with Jonah Savanai and his deal. Um, but it really started to stack up and it really started to happen, you know, even today, you know. Um, we had Nick and Mana Aari last night, the 35th overall pick after me and Neil were off the air. Nick Manawari got a fully guaranteed deal, right? That started things out, too. Um, and then today you had Mason Taylor, the New York Jets. He got 91.3% guaranteed. All right. Um, you know, Donovan Isuraku with the Dallas Cowboys, he got his deal um with about, you know, 8.1 of the 10.1 guaranteed, so about 80%. JT Tumalu, he’s got his um almost it’s about 80 or 90% guaranteed from the Indianapolis Colts. That happened today. Eli, all you Hurricane fans, Elijah Royo, he got his um deal done today. 8 point what? 8.813 million with about 6.872 million of that guaranteed. Um Trey Harris, who was originally holding out, he got his deal taken care of today. Jack Bes with the Raiders got his deal taken care of. You know, Trey Amos with the Washington Commanders got his done. it. They were starting to fall. The dominoes are starting to fall and Nick Manowari was really the only guy in the 30s that other than Carson Schwesinger and Jaden Higgins that up until Jonah signed, they were done. And all three of them had got fully guaranteed deals. Now, Quinn Sean Judkins, who went right before Javon Jonas Vanaya, I mean, this guy got arrested on a domestic violence charge. So, I don’t know if he’s going to get his I don’t think he’s going to get his deal fully guaranteed for sure. But, man, this is good. I’ve told you guys what I think. If you missed my prospect profile on the likes of Jonas ofiah, man, you know, you’re talking about a guy 6’4, 324 pounds, fantastic length to his frame, 10 and a/4 inch hands, almost 34 inch arms. So, we don’t got no T-Rex Lee Mikeinberg going on here. And I think what players and I think with the Dolphins, what y’all are going to love about him is just like Kenneth Grant in the defensive trenches, on the offensive trenches, Jonasia is going to be a tone setter. Jonas Savvya is going to change the culture from a standpoint of he’s one of the type of guys that can shed that finesse label, right? Um and you talk about fantastic versatility. Now, I know the idea right now is left guard, but man, if you know, if you’re not comfortable with what you see with Liam Mikeberg or let’s say you sign a Will Hernandez and you slide him somewhere to left guard and James Daniels isn’t ready to go, Jonasia, you know, he’s probably his most comfortable position is right guard or right tackle, you know. And speaking of right tackle, Austin Jackson can’t stay healthy. Austin Jackson’s hurt more than two at Tong Aloa. Austin Jackson were also under on the hook for $16 million next year because they decided to restructure his deal. But if that guy can’t go, you got a rookie contract you can slide right in there at right tackle and Jonas Savaniah. So I mean just the versatility, you know, I I love and and the type of athleticism and power Savaniah possesses, you know, where I really think see a couple of things here, especially with that right side. If you started in my right guard and Austin Jackson was healthy, man, those screens or anything at or behind the line of scrimmage, man, on that right side and open space, they would be absolutely train wrecking people. But even still, if Austin Jackson were to go down and you need to rely on some screens a little bit, you know, I’d rather have Jonas Savvy at right tackle working in space than a guy like Keon Smith. That’s just me though, you know. So, I mean, love it, you know. Former honorable mention, all pack 12 as a sophomore at right tackle and right guard, you know, junior all pack 12 honorable mention. Once more, splitting time equally at right and left tackle in that final season. H man, this is this needed to be done. this needed to be taken care of and I’m glad they did. I’m glad they got this taken care of for sure. Um, and you know, I’m telling you, I I I think this is a they drafted a guy, everyone remembers how high I was in Robert Hunt when we drafted him, but they’ve drafted a guy in Jonah Savvy who I think the ceiling’s a bit higher. I really do. You know, he played Now, was it SEC competition? No, but he played better competition than the Sunb Belt coming out. That’s for sure. So, it was key to take care of this, as I call him, the Samoan shield. It was key to take care of the Samoan shield. And you know, this guy, he’s your he’s a foundational piece for the present and the future on that offensive line. All right. He’s going to show up daily to keep that quarterback clean, to open run hole, open holes in the run game, and you know, really give that the Dolphins that nononsense, a little bit of a nasty edge that they’ve been missing when it comes to the wars in the offensive trenches. You know, this is a guy who’s also through OTAAS and rookie mini camp, I’ve heard has looked like one of the best rookies out there, if not the best rookie out there so far. So, man, I had to take care of the Samoan Shield and I love it. I love it. So, I’m so happy that they got they took care of him. Like, you know, and we knew you’re going to have to you were going to have to bend to this. I mean, I know we all waited till almost the 11th hour here. All these teams are waiting, but I mean, this was just kind of a no-brainer, right? When Jaden Higgins and Carson Schwessingers signed their deals, I told all y’all this is where we were headed. This is where we were trending. and we’re there. Now, what the caveat that’s happened is, and this is very interesting, it seems like the first 40 picks from here on out are going to get fully guaranteed. 40 to 50, 55 are going to get 90% of the guaranteed and then, you know, 50 50 or 55 to, you know, the mid60s, right? Second round picks, they’re going to probably get around 80%. So, that looks like how we’re scaling right now in the second round, but I do believe next year you’re going to see the guys in their 40s are going to start pushing for those fully guaranteed deals 110%. All right, so I just, hey, you needed to take care of this, especially with training camp and the veterans reporting tomorrow and then training camp starting to ramp up. you know, this is just something that needed to happen. So, I’m just I’m happy that this has got taken care of, man. I’m happy that he can lock in and he can just dive in without having to worry about any distractions because let’s be honest, I think we’re all sick of the distractions. We didn’t need another one, right? We’re all sick of the distractions. The Ramsay deal. What’s Tyreek Hill going to do today when he wakes up? You know what I mean? So, but for all of you who will be there next Saturday on the 26th for the first training camp practice open to fans, man, you get to see that boy Jonas of live in the flesh and that is a very, very, very good thing. So, man, I’m just glad they got it taken care of. I’m glad they got it done. We got a few more things to talk about regarding this whole deal. So, here is some more information by the great Barry Jackson regarding the situation. So, Dolphins signed second round pick. Hope he can be long-term answer at guard. The Dolphins agreed to a fully guaranteed deal with second round pick Jonah Savvya on Friday, ensuring that all of their draft choices will be present when the team takes the field for its first training camp on Wednesday. That’s critical for Savana who’s being projected to step in as a starting guard as a rookie opposite veteran free agent pickup James Daniels who is working his way back from a torn Achilles he sustained in week four of last season. Savianaya’s signing was delayed because of a concerted effort by second round picks and their agents to secure guaranteed money on the fourth year of their rookie contracts. In the past, that fourth year had not typically been guaranteed for players selected after the first round. That changed this year when Houston Texans gave Jaden Higgins a fully guaranteed 11.7 million deal over the next four years. Don’t forget Carson Wesinger. The Dolphins fully guaranteed the entirety of Savian’s contract, which is a 4-year deal, for 11.3 million, though only two second round picks had signed as of the week of July 11th. Second round picks signed during the past week, and not all of them received guaranteed deals. San Francisco 49ers defensive tackle Alfred Collins, the number 43 pick, agreed to a 4-year, $10.3 million contract that includes more than 9 million guarantee. The Dolphins targeted Savai in the draft, sending the Raiders their second round pick, third round pick, and a fourth round pick to move up to the 37th overall pick and acquire a fifth round pick as well. Started 36 games at Arizona, 16 at right tackle, 15 at right guard, and five at left tackle. But the Dolphins see him as a guard. He’s projected to start ahead of Liam Iikenberg unless he struggles badly during training camp and preseason. Quote, “This was a player we had targeted, spent a lot of time with. We had him on a 30 visit, spent a lot of time at All-Star games.” Dolphins general manager Chris Ger set up Sai and I after drafting him. Defensive line coach Butch Barry went out and spent a day with him and had a private workout with him. This is a player that we were very convinced on sorry we were very convicted on for what we could add with his size, his power. He’s got versatility. He’s played tackle guard. He’s an athletic kid and as we spent time getting to know him, he was the right kind of guy for us. He loves ball. He’s very competitive. So for us, it was important as we were going through the board that he was the highest rated guy we had. So the opportunity arose and we took it. The 65 326 pounders said after the draft that joining the Dolphins is a quote dream come true. So work ethic and diligence impress the team during offseason program. Daniel said of the rookie quote he’s always texting me, always texting other players asking for advice. It’s not an easy offense. I’m proud of his development. And we’ve talked about that quote, right, about how he’s been going out of his way to text these other players and try and get better. It reminds me a lot of Chop Robinson in year one in terms of that, right? We had Taran Armstead took Chop under his wing. That’s why I wish Teran Armstead was still around for another year. I would love Savanaya, especially on that left side under his wing and seeing how a pro really works. But um this just reminds me of Chop Robinson. You remember how Chop Robinson was constantly getting coached up from offensive linemen, from defensive linemen, and it was all about it was all all all all about getting better as a pro and being a sponge and listening to the guys who had been there. Jonah from Zona. I love it. I love it. That’s a great one. But man, I love it. Good, good, good. This is done. We have got one of Tua’s future protectors locked in and locked up. It needed to be taken care of. And again, I’m just glad there’s just not another distraction, right? It seems like the distractions are kind of starting to be cleared up. We got Jaylen Ramsay out of here, right? And now we’ve got Jonas of taken care of. I think if you can make Zack Cer happy, man, we’re fully cooking. I mean, fact of the matter is we’re stuck with Tyreek right now. So, you just got to pray he doesn’t create a distraction and everything stays clean. Chuck asked me, UC Wilkins is on the pup. Yeah, man. That’s uh that’s that’s uh that’s tough news for Christian Wilkins, right? It’s it’s tough news for Christian Wilkins. I saw that earlier today. The Raiders tweeted out that Christian Wilkins is going to start off on the Papopolis. Um, he’s still recovering from that major foot injury, right? Um, so that sucks, man. Um, you know, and apparently Wilkins had a setback in his recovery. So, this is what’s caused him to miss all of OTAAS in mini camp. I mean, they’re not really getting a return on that $82.75 million guaranteed and $110 million contract they handed out to him, you know. Um, and I believe it’s a uh, if I remember correctly, it’s with him with Christian Wilkins, it’s a Jones fracture in his left foot and he’s had surgery on it. Um, and that’s the scary thing. He’s had this Jones fracture. He’s had surgery on it. And he’s had setbacks. And man, I’m going to tell you this. When you get those bigger guys in the trenches and lower extremity issues start stacking up for them, that’s when you become that’s when it becomes a problem. I mean, you heard Terron Armstead talk about how he needs a whole new knee knee replacement, right? You know, um that that’s just uh I don’t know. That’s That’s a tough one. Um, so now apparently Mika Fitzpatrick from what I understand um I think he I want to say he talks next Tuesday. I want to say he uh I want to say Minka Fitzpatrick start can talk next uh next Tuesday is probably when the first time we’ll get a chance to hear from him. So um I’m not really worried. You know from everything I understand Fitzpatrick he is just not you know he is not a social media guy. He’s not the type of guy that’s going to run out there and get in front of a camera. That’s just not his style. So, um, you know, I’m not, again, I think people were over over stating the fact that he hadn’t spoken yet. I mean, what just a couple days ago he had the videos came out of Minka out on the field working and training and prepping down in South Florida. So, I’m not really overly concerned. that’ll get taken care of. You know, uh Minka will be locked in. I think Minka is going to return to all pro form this year. I think it’s going to happen. I think you’re going to see some great stuff from Ma Fitzpatrick. I really do. Now, let’s talk about this. The cap space for Miami. The Miami Dolphins have about 1.244 244 million dollar after the Sevana um you know after the Savvayania deal. All right. So they have just a little bit over 1 million and I know people are going to be like yo what happened to that inflated number? Well, remember they took on Minka Fitzpatrick, right? That that’s that’s the issue right there is you’ve taken on Minka Fitzpatrick. Now you if you let’s say you give Zack Cer an extension, a Zach Cer extension frees up about $5.872 million. A Minka A Minka Fitzpatrick extension frees up about 11.396 million. A Jordan Brooks extension uh clears up about 6.156 million. So with Zach Cer, you can clear up about 5.872 million with an extension. Let’s say you want to restructure Minka’s deal and give him some guaranteed money this year. That actually clears up about $7.12 million. So, you could clear up by giving by restructuring Minka’s contract to give him some guaranteed money this year. And then by handing out a new extension to Zack Caler, you could free up almost $13 million. All of a sudden, we’re back around $14.5 million in cab space. So, you know, there are options here. I think Zack Cer and his deal should be take precedence. And I think if you clear up 5.82 million on top of the 1.2 1.244 million, now you’re at about what 7 mill a little over $7 million in cap space. I think that’s enough to go into the season with and keep yourself open where if we start off really hot, you know, and this team is sitting pretty come the trade deadline, you can now make a deal. You can now add to that team. So, I see uh shout out to Donnie. He said, “Your buddy over at the Miami Herald’s already crying cap cap apocalypse.” I mean, you know, there’s a reason why I tell y’all don’t listen to those people. All right. Um I I think, you know, that’s what I would be doing. This is how I would create the money. So, I think Zack Cer is uh deserving of it. But I’ve talked about this at nauseium almost. So, you know, I’ll be mad if they don’t get something done and this guy ends up walking. I’ll be livid. He’s one of my favorite Dolphin players right now. I think he deserves an extension more than Tyreek did, more than Tua did. Name anyone who’s got an extension over the last couple years and he deserves I’ll go. You want You want You want me to be real with you? You want me to be 110% with you? He deserves a reup more than Christian Wilkins did in Miami. Let that one put that in your pipe and smoke it. That’s how I feel. I don’t think there’s any Dolphin, you know, of the last, and I’m including X. I don’t think there’s any Dolphin of the last five years who deserves an extension more than Zack Cer. The guy’s been a team player the whole time. He’s taken well below market value the whole time he’s been here. He’s constantly outplayed his yearly salary. There’s he’s the one who deserves it. We’re hoping for guys to live. We’re hoping for Tua to become that consistent top 10 guy, right? You know, we’re we’re hoping he’s going to become consistent. We’re hoping Tyreek Hill is not going to create drama. We’re hoping Bradley Chub’s not going to, you know, stay hurt. You know, we’re hoping for all these things with other guys, but Zack Cer’s been the biggest sure bet. Let’s be real here. So, that’s where I’m at. No one deserves a raise more than Zack Cer. Now, did the Miami Dolphins start a little bit of a trend today by signing Jonas of? That’s a real interesting question. Check this one out. Once the Dolphins deal for Jonas of Ioniah at number 37 came in fully guaranteed and then the Bears came through with their deal for Luther Burton at 30 number 39 fully guaranteed. Trayvon Henderson’s deal followed suit and he got a fully guaranteed deal. So, you know, if you really think about this, you know, it was there was two dominoes, right? We knew Nick Amanda Wari would get a fully guaranteed deal because of how rel how relatively close he was, you know, obviously to Schweinger, obviously to Jaden Higgins, right? Jaden Higgins was 34, Nick Warrior was 35 if you remember correctly. But it was always, okay, what has Quinn Sean Judkins done to this market, right, with the domestic charge that he received because he was a stop gap between Carson Weser, Jaden Higgins, and A Manori and Seaniah. There was a stop gap in the middle of them. and Jonas ofiah, he set off the domino effect. Right now, the other interesting one at 40, right at 40, the interesting one is going to be Tyler Chuck because that’s a quarterback who could potentially start. Now, the word that I’ve heard is Tyler Chuck is holding out for a fully guaranteed deal. So it looks like right 33 to 40 are going to get guaranteed deals. 41 to like 50 are going to be in the 90% range. And then basically from 50 to 64, you’re going to have that range dipping from 90ish to about mid to high 80s to lower 80s. That’s what you’re going to have. So, it feels like, you know, that first top half of the second round up until 40 and and Tyler Shuck’s going to set the precedent, right? He’s a quarterback. They’re going to pay the quarterback. So, you know, it’s going to be very interesting to see how the rest of these second round contracts play out. But, man, I’m glad that the Dolphins didn’t sit on their hands. They went out, they took care of business on a Friday. Jonas of Aayaniah can stop worrying about that. He can lock in and get ready for next week. So, man, I like this. Nip it in the butt. get it taken care of so we can get focused. Because really, we got a season ahead of us where you can’t afford to not be focused. Where you can’t afford to not be locked in because if things go sideways, this isn’t going to end well for people in the building, people on the sideline, on the coaching staff, and some players on that field. So, man, love it. Love it. Love it. All right. Beautiful stuff, man. Beautiful. Beautiful. Beautiful. Great. Absolutely fantastic. So, man, always on a Friday, always at the most inopportune times, they take care of this. Hey, the fact is they take care of it and that’s all that matters. You know, better now than when I’m on vacation. Let me tell you that much. Guys, smash that like button. There’s over 350 of you in the room right now. I’m going to get out of here. I’m going to let you guys enjoy the rest of your night and evening and I’m going to see you guys Sunday. All right. I’m going to be back here Sunday and we are going to preview the defense and special teams. We’re going to go for every through everything even who’s going to be the potential gunners for special teams. All right. Plus, I have prospect profiles for Kenneth Grant as well as Dante Trader Jr. And that’s going to include all 22 in-depth scouting reports. So, make sure you tune in. Never questioned a Polynesian linemen they are the best in the league. Mailata or Sewell type player
Not only can Austin Jackson not stay healthy he’s also NOT GOOD
Athletes first strike again 😮
As much as I like Zach Sieler, they don’t need to sign him to a big extension. The reason they drafted multiple good defensive lineman, so they don’t have to resign him to a big contact.
