Phoenix Suns Team Highlights vs Portland Trail Blazers | Summer League 2025
That was a a play for him for big fell to get easy too. Wood with a leaner. That’s Moses Wood out of the University of Washington. Always refreshing when you see a big man give really good post up moves cuz every big man wants to shoot threes. Boogie Ellis for three. Hook shot going to his right shoulder and Boogie Ellis comes out the pick and roll with a nice step back to his left. Wanted a whistle, did not get it. Wood back in transition for the Summer Suns. battle. Nice dish and the finish by CJ Huntley out of a [Applause] Boogie Ellis against Rupair. Step back jumper. Pure Boogie Ellis to get the match up he wants behind the back. Another step back going to his left to create that. A miss that time in love with rebound for Portland. Rupair in transition blocked. CJ Huntley got a piece of it. One of the big things that they dealt with, they were very turnoverrone a year ago. CJ Huntley for three. That’s going to do a lot for guys like Scoo Henderson who’s trying to become one of the best point guards in this league at an early age. Battle lost the ball off the ricochet. Got it back. And Huntley works against Padoula. finds an opening, sends it, can’t score it. Offensive rebound and Brandon Angel and an opportunity here off the offensive rebound. Tips it. [Applause] Carr with a spin move but lost it. Woods. It’s a great pass to Wood rising up for the D. Scapins for three. Weak side rebound to Scheacher. Scheacher no look and Hutley puts that one up and in. [Music] Sister Ilana played a couple of seasons in the W. Booby Ellis for three has an answer and they also get Mark Williams. Huntley Diad denied but it ends up at the hands of Boogie Ellis who drills another three. Portland is three of 15. Phoenix four of 14. Three of those threes by Boogie Ellis. Young with a bucket. Sissoko misses. Tyson the rebound. Young was there defensively. Gaining full head of steam, lays it up and lays it in. Jaylen Green has an opportunity to learn from a an all-star like Devin Booker. So, he could definitely help his game out in a tremendous way. Ellis, yes, for three. Great find by Wood. Great ball movement by the Suns. [Music] Carton unsure with the handle. Turns it over. Battle gleans in banks and scores. go back into a pick and roll action to create two to the ball. Had a pick and roll with Huntley. Here’s Battle for three. Got it. And the Suns have the lead with a miss on that last possession. Making his Vegas debut. Boogie Ellis stepped back three. He got it again. Suns have scored 15 straight. Boogie doing a little boogie. Side step triple splash. Ellis guarded by Love. Can’t shake free. Battle four on the shot clock on the deck to the cup. It’s up. It’s in. And the foul. [Music] It’s the hoop and the harm. Just an impressive drive with Wood rolls, flips, and it falls off the window. Love shot clock down to four. Rainbows misses a three. Run out opportunity. Battle. Huntley reverses it in. 22 straight. Boogie Ellis is going to sit the rest or at least this possession. There you see Huntley. So I I I understand. Quarter three and the three-point shot making continues. 21 last Thursday. Wood a steel Ellis. Not exactly an alleyoop for a dunk, but it’s two for Caleb Battle. Portland has missed its last 15 shots. And Padulla has his pocket pick. Ellis. Yes. With a reverse. Wood with 10 to shoot. Shoeacher drives. Shot clock down to four. Baseline jumper good. Seems like every guard is picking up full court. They’re being very physical. I mean, you see the success that OKC’s had at the playoffs when it’s Jaylen or SGA, Luke Thorne picking up full court. To come in and kind of do the same thing where no momentum is being lost, it definitely pays to your advantage. Team three, Caleb Battle. What are the key elements to be a true professional at this level? Well, if you’re playing that many if you’re playing that much basketball and you’re practicing and you’re traveling throughout the course of a season. Scheacher got a bucket on this sequence and then Angel down the lane, flips it up and in. Good drive by Angel. Angel corner three. Yes. All right. Welcome back, Boogie. You guys opened this up late in that first half. 22 straight points. What allowed you guys to be so dominant over that stretch? Yeah, you know, just locking in on defense, you know, playing together as a team. You know, just continue to, you know, talk, communicate, and, you know, get after it on defense. You’ve looked really comfortable. How much has that G-League experience from last year helped you this time around in summer league? Uh well, you know, last year I was injured a little bit, so I only played 12 games, but uh you know, just staying confident in myself, you know, continue to play, uh continue to, you know, trust my game and be confident in myself. You know, that’s what just allows me to come out here and play freely all the hard work I put in. Appreciate it. Thank you. Thank you. Appreciate it. You look at Bonnie James who played in the G-League, who’s done well, and now he’s looking unbelievable. He’s having a great summer league, and it’s all because he’s had reps in the G-League. [Applause] Wood got by Love off the glass off but then tapped in by Brandon Angel. Schumacher wants a screen but he turns it down in the lane. Fadeaway jumper rolls off. Angel good work on the offensive glass initially by CJ Huntley. So he did a lot of different things versatility wise for his team. Ellis gets the high screen. got it back to Hutley who lays it up and lays it in. Well, moments ago, Boogie Ellis limped off the floor and here’s the sequence that led to that. Not sure if he landed a two straight points got Phoenix in control of the scoreboard. Extra pass, corner three, bottoms out for Rashir Fleming. Biggest thing back in the drop or they’re showing on the hedge are switching. You got to be able to learn all these different coverages to be elite. And stayed back and ended up getting the easy one. 9373. Shoeacher right down the strip. Defensive rebound by Huntley. Schumacher. Oh, what a pass. Pretty play. The finish by Fleming. 20 for Battle. [Applause] [Music] battle to the rim and in and a foul. Schumacher drives off glass and in and he continues to impress. Incredible vision, incredible passing ability. He’s been a pro in Japan since he was in high school and gaining. He knows how to get the fans off their feet and he pairs it up with a great offensive game like he did last night. I think he’ll be more than fine. Offensive rebound by Young. Brandon Angel has it. Gives it up. Count three more for Jordan Dany.
