He’s a liar. Everyone knows MLB has taken Oakland off the table. This is just for leverage against other cities.
He’s full of it. If mlb wanted another team in the Bay Area they would’ve kept the A’s the same way they’re making sure the rays stay in Tampa

This is fucking stupid. Just let the A’s stay in Oakland. Get rid of fuck face. And tell Vegas to find another team.
It’ll never happen in Oakland because it’s just not a priority for the city. Most A’s fans live outside Oakland proper so it’s not a life or death political decision for anyone. Sure there’s massive opportunity cost but you don’t lose elections for failing to capitalize on opportunities.
Which sucks because someone with vision and energy and political will could totally reopen the Laney College conversation. The land is still sitting there unused, and it was completely stopped in its tracks in 2018 by that community college board. Take one look at San Diego or Sacramento or shit, even Wrigleyville, and you could see the vision to totally transform downtown.
Unfortunately, once again, Oakland will elect someone with other priorities and zero vision.
