Edmonton Oilers News: Bob Stauffer’s Top 10 Prospects | 2025 Off-Season Update
Hey friends, this is Dolan TV. I hope your rainy weekend across Alberta has been rather pleasant. Obviously, it’s been a rainy pretty much week at this point as Alberta getting that dump of rain that well at some point over the course of the summer is always needed. And uh yeah, we’re moving into the later half of July now as we get to hopefully the cooking weather of August. The Oilers, they’re not cooking much up right now, nor is the NHL. I know we kind of started over the course of the last few uh days into the weekend with that trade Dakota Joshua over to the Toronto Maple Leafs for, of course, I think it was just a pick. So, not really much value there for the Vancouver Conucks other than Cap Space. And the Edmonton Oilers, well, they’ve stayed rather quiet since then. They’ve kind of had a quiet weekend. I think we’re expecting some bigger news here soon, whether it be Connor’s contract or some other stuff to break. But really, I think the weekends from here on out over the course of the summer will be rather quiet for the Oilers. So, Bob Staer took the moment to steal some spotlight here on social media today to at least spark some debate about some Edmonton Oilers pipeline prospects. And that’s what we’ll review here in today’s video. So, if you are new to the channel, friends, consider hitting that subscribe button. I’ll have the graphic for you here in a second. Of course, would love to have you along as a regular viewer on the channel. Again, if you’re already viewing and you choose not to hit that subscribe button, but you tune in every time, I appreciate that all the same. So, what do we know? Bob Stoffer always high on talking about the Evan Oilers prospects. Always likes uh keeping us up to date with that. And that is where we go to his top 10 rankings for U24. So under the age of 24 year old prospects for the Edmonton Oilers coming into the 25 26 season. That seems crazy to say. I’ve been doing this since 2018 2019 at this point. Matt Seavoy and Ike Howard come in in the one and two slot. I think that is pretty obvious. I think Matt Seavoy by default should and very well maintains Bob Staer’s number one spot. Ike Howard comes in at number two simply because these two will play in the Edmonton Oilers top six at least to start the season. How it progresses from there, that one remains to be seen. But for an Edmonton Oilers team that desperately needs top six scoring speed and all this, given the changes we’ve made over the past two years, I would expect to see these guys play pivotal roles and get off to hot starts, especially if they can quickly learn. Don’t defer to Connor. Don’t defer to Leon. If they’re passing you the puck, they want you to shoot it. If they’re passing you the puck, they want you to do something with it. So, as long as they keep that lesson under their cap as they’re going out there on the ice every night, I think the results, given the pedigree of both players, will speak for themselves. Again, you still have to deliver. It’s not just, you know, do it, you still have to do it and make the results kind of speak for what we believe. So, Maximkin, he comes in at number three. I know signed a deal overseas there, so he’ll be another year or two yet. again number three on the list. He’s percolating. He’s coming along and when he comes over eventually the ability will be there. It’s just you got to wait for this and it’s kind of typical of the situation. So, we’re not going to get too excited or uh too elated yet, but of course that is the caliber of prospect he is and Bob Staer very high on Barashkin. So, stay tuned on that front over the next few years. Boa, who I can’t get official confirmation on uh yet, but I believe he is eligible to play in Bakersfield this year. So, he will be ready to go for the Condors and ready to start taking that next step in his career after he’s been hampered uh by that shoulder injury there a few years back and obviously just not quite uh developing near as fast as we thought he might. but he’s still going to be an absolute beauty of a prospect if he can come along as well as we think he can this season. Robi Jervente number five on the list. The same thing there as well. Bakersfield is going to be a ton of fun to watch this year, friends. It’s going to be absolutely amazing to see what the Bakersfield Condors are able to do with consistent young talented bodies in the lineup. And what that means for us Edmonton Oilers fans is that when we’re ready to call someone up, they will be ready to go and they will be ready to rock and roll and eat, you know, maybe 15 minutes for a couple of games if we lose a key piece to our roster. You got to remember Zack Heyman might not be ready for opening night. So, you might be choosing somebody from Bakersfield to just take a skate there in the opening game of the year against the Calgary Flames. So, you know, we’ll stay tuned, see what happens here. But of course, you now have Quinn Hudson as well, who would likely be that guy to do that. Uh, obviously playing in a game for the Oilers this year, this past year. He’ll star in Bakersfield as well. Connor Clattenberg, who I believe can be in Bakersfield, similar to Boi. I again double-checking this and figuring all this out, has not been the strongest of suits this off season. And of course, every time I think a prospect can play in Bakersfield, I’m wrong. So, we’ll just defer to Bob Staer who’s got him at number seven. A tough customer, a guy that you’re really going to enjoy playing for the Oilers if he ever gets there. Again, I think he’s got the ability in the upside to do it. So, it should be exciting to see him roll up to the NHL when he is ultimately ready for the Edmonton Oilers and ultimately when he gets his call up and, you know, whether it be next year, the year after, the year after that. Now, Paul Fiser, similar situation. He’ll be a few years off yet. Uh I believe he’s got college yet this year and then he has a decision to make in the spring and then we’ll see what that decision means and what that means for either the Condors, the Edmonton Oilers or whatever is going on across the Oilers, you know, maybe trade deadline plans, right? That too. Paul Fischer obviously the I believe he was if I’ve got my math correct the throwin thank you for the offer sheet from the St. Louis Blues. William Nickel and Josh Samansky rounded out William Nickel number nine. Well, he he had himself a heck of a season down with the London Knights. The London Knights obviously had a heck of a season, as you know, via Sam O’Reilly, but William Nickel at times was playing on the second line, far exceeding what was expected of them this year and really delivered what was a beautiful season for the Edmonton Oilers in terms of pipeline development. And hopefully for the Oilers, they can continue to get that out of nickel this year, who, you know, will obviously uh be playing behind Sam O’Reilly and big in London as well. But hey, you know what? It’s all good. It’s all great. And uh William Nickel, if he has a season of upside similar to last year, him and O’Reilly are really going to wreck things up down there for the London Knights. So, that’s exciting. And then the last name on that list again if you missed it there at the bottom is Josh Samansky who came over from Germany this off season actually during the playoffs and is going to be here this year for the Oilers in Bakersfield. Uh Bruce Kurlock I think I’ll defer it to his opinion on this one. The transition from the big ice to the small ice is going to be the biggest impact on what happens with Josh Samansky. While he might be number 10 on that list, his upside has him probably anywhere, you know, from 3 to 10 really depending on how that transition to the middle of the ice and the big ice to small ice goes for the younger Oilers center right now. So, we’ll see how that one pans out. Obviously, this is all a wait and see kind of game, but that’s your Bob Staford top 10 prospects 2025 offseason edition. and just glad to have something to talk about on a rainy Sunday edition here on Dolly TV. Friends, I hope your weekend finishes off just perfect. And we will get back to it hopefully Monday tomorrow with some bigger news from Edmonton Oilers land. But for right now, we’ll uh we’ll wait and see what these prospects do and we’ll see how it all comes together for the Edmonton Oilers in training camp and once things are assembled down in the Bakersfield system. Friends, thanks for being aboard. I’m upon gone.
Bob Stauffer took the luxury of a quiet Sunday to release his rankings on the Edmonton Oilers top 10 prospects.

I hope the Oilers bring in tough, big griity players that will drop the gloves when needed
Now the Oilers just need a Goalie Prospect that could be their future starter
The current ones I don’t know yet
The oil must have one of the weakest / least deep prospect pools in the league and few high draft picks going forward
