What do you think of the Pittsburgh Steelers new throwback uniforms?

Did the Pittsburgh Steelers just drop the best throwback uniform of the summer? Whether you’ve already followed me or not, you know, and I know that the answer to that is pretty clearly a hard no. It is not. That belongs to the Tampa Bay Bucks creamsicles or potentially the new Seattle Seahawks white throwbacks they’re about to unveil, at least of this recording. Let’s break down what Pittsburgh did with this uniform cuz there are a couple things I actually really like about it. For example, that matte gold shell is fantastic. That is the star of the show. We’ve all known and wanted this shell to come back. We’ve been talking about this here for at least a year now. When I reported in February that they were getting new helmets, I said it’s almost certainly going to be this color shell. The other thing I like too, I kind of like the thin black outline on the white numbers on the jersey plate, but that’s that’s really it. And I know throwback uniforms are obviously supposed to honor the past. So if they look bad, I mean that’s not really the fault of the current team and these actually do a good job of honoring the 1933 wardrobe the Steelers wore. But like I say all the time, just because it has good meaning doesn’t mean it’s a good uniform. I was really hoping it’d be the Hines Ward era look. I know this is George Pickkins, but this still would have looked incredible to see back on the field. It’s a throwback again, like it’s supposed to look like it did back in the 1930s. But I think I am going to list off everything they should have done differently. Not matching the jersey numbers on the front and back, especially with how good they look on the front, is kind of a miss. I will never advocate for a gray face mask, especially when a black one would have looked way better and has precedent for this franchise. And the beige pants, man, we saw the Giants do it last year. That was a hard no. Same thing here with Pittsburgh. Like if I was going to update these on Madden, I would change the face mask to black, make the pants black, and then, you know, it’s not too terrible. And I will say at least the updated crest for Pittsburgh is pretty good. And overall, the presentation for all the new uniforms so far has also been awesome. But still, despite the awesome matte shell, I think many of you will agree with me. I’m not looking forward to seeing these on the
