San Diego Padres vs Miami Marlins – FULL GAME HIGHLIGHTS | July 21, 2025 MLB Season

average lifts a fly ball up near the roof and coming in from left is Sters to make the catch. That was Sky way up there, but it’s out number one as he goes from the uh the first base side of that pitcher plate. I would say extreme. Yep. Line to right and that’s going to one hop. Sanchez who knocks it down. That’s a base hit Friday and Sunday. Machado hits one deep in the air to left field sending Sters back shy of the track. He’s there to make the catch for number two. And Arise back to first. Two down in the first. There goes Arise at first. Pitch is low and inside. The throw down there will get away into center field. No further advance for Arise. He steals second base. Picked a good pitch to take off him. In the air to right center field struck pretty well. Heading back and getting there in front of the wall is Sanchez to make the grab in center field. Padres will leave a rise in second. Marlins are coming up. He’s at the top of this Marlins order and there’s a liner for another base hit. So he continues his tor at pace on the ground at first base. So Rise will go to second out there. Back to first out there. Wow. Nicely done. Sharply hit. Diving at third as Machado picks himself up and the throw off the mark. He has more life on that number one guys. And that’s one of the reasons not only coming in at 98 mph but also with some good carry on. This has got some carry off the wall. Bogart’s going to hurry up and he’ll be safe. Just gets in off the wall. Almost got it out of here again after his grand slam yesterday. You got to stay relaxed. Let him provide the power and so far the Padres have done a nice job of that. Guys, this will get away and Bogards will take third base. It’s a wild pin line to right field and that’s going to get in for a base hit. From third base comes Bogurts and the Padres’s take a one- nothing lead. Jackson Merrill drives in the game’s first run. Fair ball down the left field line into the corner. Merrell racing around. We’ll see if Lever’s going to send him. No, they stop him. He runs through the stop sign and he’s saved. Padres’s take a two nothing lead. Ran right through the stop sign. Scores anyway. A lot to do with it. Took the cap for Randy Vosquez. Obsid base hit the other way for Liam Hicks with it. Chopped towards third. Machado’s got to wait for it to come down. Can do nothing with it. Got it on the half hop and Hernandez beats it out. Marlins have runners at first and second with one away. Bogarts hits one in the air to shallow left. A short stop. Lopez is out. He is calling and catching out number three. Padres’s down in order. Two nothing San Diego. Shoots this one. A lot of spin left side and into left field for a base hit. Runner goes and that is in the dirt from all four. Two pitch line and cut by Machado. Turns it into two. Yes, Eacius. Quickly over to cover. Double play. That’ll work. Hot shot by Ramirez, but right at Machado who fires to a Glaciius for the double play. Taken off as a Glacius. The throw down there is going to be not in time. Stolen base for Jos Glacius. Wayside after the first week or two of the season, right, Don? Yep. Fly ball out to deep left center field. struck pretty well. Barrel back at the wall and that ball is gone. Wow. He nearly hit one out of the second inning. He does in the fourth. He cuts the Padres’s lead in half. 22nd home run of the year. He’s from Elcohone to third and Machado [Music] out number two. Lined in to right center field. Base hit for Fernando. It’ll split the gap to the track and the wall. Fernando maybe thinking three. Nope. Going to pull it up around second base. Wise decision. Got himself a lead off double already in scoring position here in the fifth inning. On the ground towards second base. Edwards has one play. It’s at first and he makes it as Fernando takes third to center. And coming in is Jackson Merrill. A few steps for out number one. Runner goes on the first move and the throw is high and into second base with a standing stolen base is Edwards. Dribbled back towards the mound as Mory Hone will go to first for the out and he gets out of the jam. So fly ball shallow right center. Myers is over and under and makes the catch for out number one. [Music] On the ground, softly hit. Hicks will throw to second base. They’ll get the out there, but that’s it. Had a chance for a double play, but a high throw. And they’re lucky to get that one out as it threw. Sharply hit, but caught by Xander Bogarts at shortstop on the sinking liner. pitch. Waves at the change up and strikes out. Rounded to first base. A rise going to need help and over is for the out that’ll end the inning through six in Miami. It’s 2-1 San Diego. Waves had a change up as it turns out. That’s three strikeouts in a row now for Josh Simpson. Two down here in the seventh. There it is to third. Backing up on it is Paulie. His throw is good and the inning is over. Seventh inning stretch from Miami. It’s 2-1 Padres. He faced in an inning in 2/3 in the air to shallow center. Bogart Glacius Glacius will call off Bogurts and make the catch. Second base left side. Manny Machado in the shorts stop spot gets it there in time. Two down. Hey F. Swing and a miss. And Machado strikes out on that sweeper. First out of the eighth inning that one grounding this one left side and it’s Paulie way over in the shortstop spot. Good stretch by Hicks on the other side for out number two. Grounded up the middle. The shorts stop Lopez around the bag at second. Flips to first for the up and ends the inning. Going to the bottom of the eighth with the Padres’s on top 2-1 down the third baseline. Machado gets it. Fires to first and he didn’t get him. We’ll see. This was close. What a bid though by Manny in the third inning. Ground ball right side. Glacius will flip to second for one onto first. It is in time. Double play. Grounded down to third. Tough hop, but it’s picked by Machado who spins and fires. High throw. Tag me. I think he got him. He did. Mark Rogo had athletic trainer checking on him. Jackson Merrell takes one the other way to left field. Sters on the run. Will reach out, make the basket catch. Back to the mound. Picked by Phillips and he’ll flip it to first base in time. Cronorth out number two of the ninth inning. [Music] Fly ball center field has Meyers back to make the catch. A one, two, three. Ninth inning. Bullpen’s been very good for the swinging miss. He struck him out. Shut out number one of the ninth inning at the plate on the ground towards shortstop. Bogurts will flip to second base. That’s the ball game. Padres’s win six to four on the force out at second base. And that wraps it up as the Padres’s hold on and win it two to

  1. Valente Bellozo hasn't been on the mound recently. Why? Is he in the minor leagues? Or was he in the bullpen all day today?

  2. The Padres offense is substantially under-performing. They are largely being carried by their stellar bullpen. But the offense will be on the loosing end of 1-run games soon again if they can’t figure out how to manufacture runs. Scoring 1-3 runs against the better teams isn’t a recipe for winning or for a deep playoff run, let alone even making the playoffs. The Padres offensive players look tired, like they’ve already played 162 games. You kinda feel sorry for them, having already played approximately 100 games. But then you remember that they are idolized (almost worshipped), while many make millions a season (some tens of millions) a season, to play a kids game…
