I guess I’m in the minority on this one. Those guys had style.
They had to wash their own pants
Slap a Carhartt logo on those pants and they go for $309 at Urban Outfitters
Who the team on the top left???
Is that the New York Canadiens Football Club?
FYI hockey was like this too back then. Tan for everyone.
Non Tan Dye had to be conserved for the war efforts (to look sharp when killing nazis so their great grandchildren in America can say they weren’t so bad)
This was because players frequently shat themselves on the field, so you couldn’t tell.
I feel like fashion is moving back towards “modesty” (I don’t really have the right word at the moment). I bet if the NFL is around in 2070 they’ll make fun of our colorful current uniforms as rainbow clown uniforms or something
As someone who works in dirt, the best color for working in dirt is dirt color. It doesn’t show the dirt as much. I hope this helps!
The Eagles throwbacks look like they escaped a Swedish carnival
I feel like none of these throwbacks capture the color tone of the original pants that were made of canvas or leather. They weren’t dyed that was the natural color of the pants.
These are modern synthetic shiny spandex dyed to be an approximation of the old school pants.
Being 100% honest, I *really like* that look.
I’m not sure if those old football pants they wore back then were actually brown or just wound up that way because they didn’t have decent detergent.

Never rooted for the Packers a day of my life, but on the day those bumble bee cosplay costumes are whipped out? GO PACK GO!!! 🧀🧀🧀
Jerseys and pants are different materials. That’s like wondering why everyone had brown helmets.
Honestly no, they off color gives it character
no one gonna mention the very classy gesture in the bottom left?
Am I the only one who doesn’t hate classic uniforms?
I’ve always liked the blue and yellow throwbacks for the packers
